BIGGEST CHESS BOXING CONTROVERSY (MY FIGHT WAS RIGGED??)

last night I fought Dina bellancaya in Ludwig's chess boxing championship it was the fight of the night it was as beautiful as chess boxing gets Dina was fighting for a life in the ring and I was doing the same on the chessboard before we begin I just want to say I have the utmost respect for my opponent Dina bellancia not only is she an amazing chess player she's higher rated than Gotham chess but she put her entire professional chess career on pause for this event she traveled all the way from France she put on extra weight to fight me and most importantly she had the balls to step in the ring with me six weeks ago neither of us had ever boxed in our life so keep that in mind before what you're about to witness now let's get into the fun stuff the controversy the win conditions were knockout or checkmate with the one most relevant to my fight being that three knockdowns in one round is a TKO gonna need you to get loud for this one all right this is walk out time my family and I we practice this routine very many times and I was waiting on my sister's shoulders weighing 135 pounds Andrea votes Alex's hair and why did they say I was 36 5 11 187 from London yep oh my God he's actually killing me this was supposed to be the LeapFrog and this was this was the choreography right here this was the choreography family the Canadians Alex was so cute and I'm sure they're hype okay Dino's goal was to be scary at five foot five Tina has a sharp where did these people come from looking Fierce the jabberwocky's making a burn I'll never forget it I think it's very fun money I actually have another video coming on this soon I did an interview with Dina her strategy was to really play into the stone cold villain killer character and I actually thought it would work to my advantage to just be myself and be silly take things easy but then surprise everyone in the ring and be out for blood in the ring and and that was my plan all along going into the chess game I felt relatively confident about having the white pieces as you may know I only play one opening the London with the white pieces and some may see this as a weakness but I see it as a strength because I thought I had covered every single weakness and every single surprise she could throw I even had the purest chess YouTuber of them all Eric Rosen helped me prepare my London system against Dina okay so I just made a file for Andrea against Dina Bishop before another London system there's the London of course the woman Grand Master outsmarted me her first couple moves left me me flabbergasted yeah and by the way this is a very offbeat way of playing it's traditionally not good but in a five minute game it's completely fine she took me out of the book she clearly had prepared some unorthodox line that may not be good in classical chess but was working to her advantage in the fast time control uh but Dina is doing this deliberately because she can manage this position as the stronger chess player slightly better than her opponent so the first round of Chess is ending and I was already feeling pretty nervous about my king I couldn't decide what side to Castle on and I was worried if I picked the wrong side she would launch a lethal attack on the board and here we go headphones off glove Zone and from botes live Andrea botez yeah quite literal there are going to be some hits Colin whether or not you talk trash even seeing that ref's face again tilts me a little bit but he apologized it's okay this match is here until here I couldn't hear a [ __ ] I didn't hear anything he was saying you stop touch hands if you want we're gonna have a good clean fight we're gonna go back to your corner touch hands touch hands can we hear it they refuse to get back to your Corners finally there are two corners I was already getting my boxing yeah I wanted to go in with a jab overhead hook jab jab trying to get in I was trying to get that overhead but my spacing just not close enough punches landed to the temple for Andrea I was really focused on my head movement because I really was worried about the defense but I just needed to be really aggressive and the body jobs are easy to land but I didn't feel like they were doing enough damage so I didn't want to do more experience strong right hand land for Dina right down the middle timing her opponent oh my God I don't know why I did a 360. turn around and windmill that is UFC yeah I know this is look this is some new bass boxing wow those are some good hooks lead hook for Andrea my form was getting so sloppy that was a good punch on her another body I'm not seeing that broken nose coming out uh I needed to just get in faster but I was afraid she was gonna come in to attack me I was trying to always be on my feet ready for her to punch back because that's what I'd prepared in my spark now on her stamina one of her greatest traits because before boxing she was huge into fitness content and she kind of [ __ ] I didn't really do any Fitness content Andrea I'm swinging but I'm not even close to her I was trying they're getting there um is so bad but you know oh I had to be aggressive 10 seconds left final seconds of the round coming up three that was a good hook that was a good hook I'm not even looking where I'm punching but yeah at this moment I know she told me after like she could not breathe because she wasn't breathing or you could tell her from her coach they're about to go back I don't think I really broke a sweat here yet I don't think I did at all but I think it is from the stool the exhaustion Wow versus fiction where he was coming over trying to get some breath I was trying to shine in my head straight here's a couple starboards replays that was a good job to the body moving up a lot shoes it's my favorite shot hasn't had enough time that was a good overhead big combo the jab and then headed to our third round our second round of Chess and we're about to find out both ladies making their way back to the stools back across the board from each other and she's definitely cerebral enough to wow Counter-Strike by the way ignoring the threat completely Dina has to step on the gas here because if not Andrea might end it in the next boxing round in case you don't play chess let me give you an analogy if you thought Dina was taking a beating in the ring just know I was getting slaughtered on the chessboard her chest preparation for the fight was insane and it did indeed pay off she was playing fast and aggressive chess even when I would try to attack her she would just counter-attack with something stronger he's got a massive build up and she has 30 seconds I don't think that's enough time to land a fatal blow but she's gonna push her Pawn forward White's King is being ripped open Andrea has half of Dina's time by the way nearly and in five seconds Dina's launching everything I mean Dina's very well could win this in the next chess round going into the second round of boxing I knew I was in danger on the board but it did not change my mindset I was already going into every round fighting for a knockout my coach was telling me to keep repeating everything I was doing before except not to wait for her so much as a complete Noob to the sport I knew the combos I was going for but actually Landing them and timing them would take multiple tries I was trying really hard to stay on my feet hear some noise at the beginning of the second book The European versus American boxing stance is so funny the difference oh Andrea's looking for a knockout I feel as though I wasn't cutting the corner properly but I didn't know how big see I stopped waiting here and I was just trying to chase her as much as I could Dina always on her back foot Andrea constantly keeping up the pressure energy that Tyson back and forth this bobbin weaving peek-a-boo style it's for Andrea working that was a good good question big counter punch Landon for uh for Dina right over the top her defensive position oh my God why am I waiting just go just go in there's no time you have a minute okay wow of the match standing count and for all the pressure that Dina applied in chess really taking his sweet time dude I look bloodthirsty another big grapple some big hugs land would have been lethal Dina really gas she's gonna need to show some more defense sure where my power shots really dangerous shots are just barely missing right because hell man I mean like one of those it's so funny because in any normal boxing match this is so bad because she could counter punch me at any time oh damn I'm definitely getting tired I didn't realize I lost balance here she's got to keep the gloves up good though this is good yeah Dina this freaking ref is always getting the way like I can't even chase her down she's going back to where she has an advantage on the board and on the car so close with that cross and we're taking a look at the star Forge replay yeah the moment I got her seems to be struggling in the corner right now we'll get to that in just a moment I should have just for now take shots that the first match is the reaction that I had to the last one the fact that people were on the edge of their seat was so exciting didn't impact started sweating so if Andrea gets to like a fatal amount of time on the clock it's over in the next chess segment it could be over now and here's the battle chess round is underway Dina has sacrificed The Rook Knight takes Pawn is a fork of her king and a rook but Dina is all in I saw Dina was trying to threaten the Checkmate on G7 and I thought I could defend with my rook and maybe get some sort of counter-attack on her King however I completely missed that she could bring in her Knight and threaten a completely forced Checkmate oh it's force made it's Force mate black is completely winning this moment was absolute Madness we were both so focused on Dina's mate in two on the G2 square that neither of us saw that Knight takes Pawn on F2 was Checkmate in one it would have been over if Dina would have seen this mate I wouldn't have gotten another chance at the boxing honestly this shows the beauty of Chess boxing and the timing made this the most hype moment of our entire match [Applause] this moment was pretty hype I could hear the crowd too I think if she doesn't all sides point to a loss in chess ref starts around 90 seconds o'clock finally gotta get in there dude I was too slow [Applause] but I was trying to like keep my footwork and my head moving but at some point I was like okay it's gonna get in there [Applause] oh first stoppage remember this is where the controversy comes if there's three and one round it's a TKO or a knockdown right so three standing couch in a fight is called otherwise the ref might call TKO if he thinks he can't participate 30 seconds down one minute back to the action 30 seconds another big right hand man she has to defend herself Tina has support to say us running around the ring is really really funny I see why people don't respect influencer boxing but we had six weeks once I get in there the punch is good but it takes me too much time it just breaks it up 40 seconds 40 seconds 40 seconds Andrea has to make something happen she's throwing swings out Dina running around she's got to be more gas that's it there's a stun no no second stoppage of the same round third of the match if she gets three stoppages in the fight it's over one more stoppage and it's done 20 seconds for this time 20 seconds eight oh seven feet Andrea I don't get the ref was interfering so much compared to the other fights [Applause] with five seconds takes his time to stop us and then does his count with one second but that's three three stoppages with a standing count oh my gosh in the crowd I could hear him booing I didn't know if it was at my chest or at the rest but I heard later it was the rest the same and no way to Dina Dina was just playing the game she was given but the ref was was a little suspicious but Dina she was using her shot to her best ability I wonder if they were yelling that she missed the Checkmate in one that's what she told me later sharp we already saw her with a couple of blunts it was really funny because in this last round they were just shouting her and I could hear it and they were just telling her to run and she was doing it she was doing it I don't think she's got a starter podcast yet yeah I don't think so either I think if anyone was going to start a podcast after those boxing rounds it might be Dana but she looks a lot twist we have a podcast episode coming with Dina this ladies making their way back over to the stools I was so defeated here I knew I was going in just to resign but and my coach didn't get it he was like it's not over I'm like yeah no it is so it's only a stoppage when there's damage that requires a standing account and we are having the crowd Boo this is like Rocky wow the Russian comes in beats the American North American hero Andrea botez and it looks like she might deliver the Checkmate below that the crowd so desperately wants to not happen yeah this is tough this is one of the things like boxing is very Primal right I mean punches and kicks are very very Primal sacrifice Japan every move she can a fighter to the end six seconds Andrea waiting at the clock she knows what's about to happen and she resigns she has resigned the game with Checkmate incoming his ladies and Gentlemen let's hear it for your winner by Chuck Bettina bad Bishop melanchaida yeah what a match Andrea boxing absolutely phenomenal boxing you knew you had the Checkmate coming I I try to stall but unfortunately I thought this was a chess boxing match it felt more like hide and seek [Applause] your winner Dina [Music] give it up give it up give it up that was an unbelievable match Dino rightfully destroyed me in the chess but people were outraged over the ref he had three stoppages in one round which should have been declared a KO and also seemed to interfere and give Dina more time than necessary to catch her breath as you could hear in the fight the crowd was actively booing the Wrath and our fight immediately went trending on Twitter as people began arguing that I was robbed of the win after the match the ref came to me and sincerely apologized and said he wanted to fix his mistake live and tell Ludwig but unfortunately there was no time funny enough literally while I was recording this video Ludwig made the announcement that he's correcting the ref's decision and declaring us both winners giving me a belt as well but that's cringe there can only be one [Music] thank you
