BIG SHELLCRACKER!!! Redear Sunfish Fishing With 1 lb Line and Worms

be real quiet they could be a set scratch over a Bigfoot or a skunk ate right in here I hope not I don't want stir EMU Yeti master on it well good morning folks I'm here on the Tennessee River once again and this morning it's 50 degrees which is real comfortable for what it has been but I tell you though surface temperature is 45 degrees that's pretty pretty good for right now for what I'm fixing to try to do a technique I'm fixing to try to do the next four or five days is gonna be real cold here in the Tennessee Valley in fact we may get our first snow tomorrow night I don't know how how much is gonna follow but I'm looking forward to it I believe that snow is pretty because we don't get a whole lot of it here like we used to but 45 degrees and what I'm doing is I'm just kind of trolling over on the brake line of this Creek right here and I see some suspended fish and they could be bluegill they could be ready or sunfish the way they're holding on the structure but we're gonna find out real foggy this morning it took me a while to get back up in here I mean it was extra foggy but stay with me and I'll show you what I'm doing and by the way I'm using one pound test line today that's uh just to have fun just to sports me part of it not necessary I can get by with two pound line hey stick with me yeah I've got one pound test line on here I mean look how thin that is one pound line and a little bitty rod right here it's a little micro series Shakespeare rod five foot long little amber you talking about I believe Aflac get on the end of that eyelet folks the last eyelet and bend it about like that real limber I'm using a size six hook and that's it no wait no anything else and I'm gonna put a piece off Nightcrawler on about a half a piece right here them's big night crawlers right here and I'm gonna hook him this is a - Nightcrawler well feel quit just like that looks like a plastic worm don't it pretty good size little bait and that's it and now with this 1 pound test line like I said it's not necessary it's just for me to have fun out here and I'm just gonna let this fall off straight down because I see some fish I went over this break line right here and there's some that's bunched up right here in this area it's sinking down it is sink down only in there and about 12 foot of water pretty quick we're just a hook and the Nightcrawler while it's falling I'm watching that line I'm watching forth to jump or move because one can get it on the way down let's catch our fish there's about there's back oh you don't get a hooking there we go look here folks that's why I was laughter right here Oh me Steven cutting a rug and that fish come out of 14 feet of water and he hit about halfway down this is a ready or son fish and a big one now on this light line you can see what I'm doing right here one pound test line I don't want to depend on my drag no way I like the back real kick the gear the reel out of gear I'm excited that's a big shell crackers I mean that big one or ready or sunfish let's put a NATO name right here now let's look at the size of the fish now I want you to look that is a big one and I called him he was suspended that one was but most of the time even in the winter shell cracker or long year sunfish will be on the bottom and the big bluegill be on top or mid depth let me put it that way that's a big beautiful fish and in the winter time there like any other fish see how thick that fish is they gain a lot of weight in the winter time of the college they don't burn up much fat they they feed and then they'll lay dormant they'll feed and that lay dormant they're not burning up a lot of calories but that's a good one to eat back there let's put some water in the bucket and put him in there that was a lot of fun he almost feels to buck it up look at that is that good alright let's catch us another you talking about a natural presentation right here I catch a lot bigger fish by doing this right here when it comes to pan fish just no way if you can get by with it ooh that was a bone right there yes Wow I almost messed up we almost popped him off I just left a little rock do the words I don't get no hurry wow this is a good look here what a pretty fish this is a pretty fish now that one was down there they get her net right here it is peaceful y'all hear all the emerg right there that's because this old storm rough weather is fixing to come in there's another big old ready or not that's a pretty one - that's good oh I'll fry them look while I'm watching the snow fall tomorrow alright hey Claire Claire let's catch another and whoa there's buddy you're in a tree in here on it there Elmer I was focusing too hard look here hmm okay let's give wow-wow-wow-wow stay on their fish this is a Google this may be that granddaddy that we've been looking for maybe the one yep that's what we're after right here folks hope he stays hooked up it's a good one it is a jumbo Oh a jumbo this is what we're after I'm excited but I can't make the wrong move I read ear is a powerful fish now I want y'all to look at this I can't wait to get it under look at that now look you there that's what I'm talking about you talking about some good fillets on the fish now that is what I'm gonna try to catch another one like that yeah well you bought a fish don't y'all look let's put him in the hook those others are big but he makes them look little look at that what a fish they ain't nothing okay like the sport of fishing put a target on different species and you can really challenge yourself no doubt a lot of ways catch them let's see if we can do that again thank you I think I just got beers out here yep there he is oh he's coming to me so I really can't tell how big he is about believe it's another big yeah idiot it's another mule got to be got to be right about the same spot too close yep look here folks now this is a lot of fun oh my my my my my my my my my my my let's get an 800 I'll tell you what then were giants absolute Giants I mean look I got a big hand look oh goodness well I know one thing I'll have to retie not there no doubt lookee there hey pudding in the bucket right there oh my let's catch another every good oh nine nine my my my my my my now that's got to be a Google y'all see that fish take off that's got to be another big big red here I have to be easy right here with listen this is a good one look here looky here looking here I'm just gonna let him tire out well I don't have any choice this one pound test line it's not for everybody and I realize that that's just me you know he's got hung right here there we go got him out let me get him away from that stuff that is a big dog and he swallowed it but we're gonna eat him look here what a shell crackers I know the one goodness look is that they head to the house today was an excellent day for catching red ears the water temperatures got up to 40 70 now on top real cold water but this technique right here to me is the best of all techniques when it comes to catching pan fish a natural presentation okay no whistles and bells connected to you line just a hook lightly of course I know that that one pound test line is not for everybody most people won't even try it but for me it's enjoyable it tests me as an angler to build the to take my time and where the fish out that's why I enjoy it I like to be at a disadvantage here's a couple of these shell cracker I don't know seems my biggest news you're not but that's some good eating - there's two and here's two more my biggest maybe bigness for here in the Tennessee River they are I know farther south that you go like you know Lake Okeechobee they get quite a bit bigger but for here them are Jumbo's and I want to thank y'all very much for watching I appreciate all the great comments read them all Hey [Music]
