[Music] address unknown hey friends it is so good to be back in albuquerque new mexico the first place i ever visited in the usa uh the home of one of my best life-long friends and the home of easily the greatest tv shows of the past 15 years breaking bad and the new best show on tv right now better call seoul uh i've previously visited a lot of breaking bad filming locations uh i haven't made a video about it but i have lots of photos commemorating the various different locations and houses that i went to visit and uh it was a super fun uh experience to go and see that stuff in real life now with better call saul pipped to be potentially even better somehow than breaking bad some might say uh i thought it was only fair that with the time i have in albuquerque this beautiful city the land of enchantment uh we should go check out some better call saul filming locations so let's do that together now shall we yes was not a rhetorical [Music] question [Music] coming up on an amazing and pivotal medical seoul location right now and i can already see the building in its resplendent hamlindigo blue finish it's the law offices of hamline hamlin and mcgill otherwise known as hhm that is crazy so many episodes revolve around this building let's go check it out look at the beautiful haml indigo blue paint job now the funny thing about this building is in real life the building is managed and leased by and i'm not making this up the goodman realty group you might be able to make out through here that's actually the lobby interior scenes that i used in the show that's crazy right across from the hhm building across this lovely hammel indigo blue bridge is another building that i hear through typical movie magic is the scene of a lot of the other hhm uh scenes so for example if you can see up here these stairwells featured prominently i believe in the show such as in the scenes where kim is desperately calling around different people and sticking post-it notes on the windows at the front here pretty sure it's the same we obviously can't get up there right now but i also have it on pretty good authority that one of the rooms up here is used for the boardroom scenes in most of better cole saul whenever they're chatting at hhm and for example when jimmy does his famous network quote you will atone yeah apparently that's up in one of these rooms when you look in the top left corner of the screen you can kind of see this bridge in the very background of the scene which makes me think maybe it's this one up here with the slightly more tinted windows than the others it'd be awesome to get a look in there someday pulling up here on the left is a very famous house from the show it's chuck mcgill's house now the spoilers in this if you haven't watched past about season three i think it is but this house no longer exists in later seasons but you can see here the door where jimmy always has to go and ground himself on the little spike before he comes in and leave all his electronics in the mailbox here's the park that chuck finally makes it out to once he gets over his agoraphobia there's another shot of the house seems like a nice little park but sadly for chuck i can still see some of those pesky electrical cables up there i hope for the sake of whoever lives here that this doesn't become another white's house where people show up and bother them and throw pizza on the roof but anyway it's a pretty nice little abode right about where my car is we also see chuck and jimmy sitting on a park bench in uh one episode now there's no park bench actually here but you can see their prop department or whoever pretty much accurately copied the kind of park benches that they use good work guys this one is a really fantastic better call saul location i can see the barrier is up so mike mustn't be home today but yeah this is mike's toll booth that he sits in for pretty much the first season of the show until he gets better offers doing slightly more shadier work for definitely shadier people there is no grace period but we're going to chance our luck and see if we can get a closer look no mike german trout today so luckily we don't have to go and get stamps but look he left his coffee cup well nice he's got a little heater in there that's good i'm worried about mike in his old age honestly probably one of the better known medical soul locations i'm really happy to have seen this one [Music] foreign welcome to the law offices of wechsler mcgill seen in many episodes and famous for its glass brick paneling it's a pretty cool stuff fun little location here 204 edith boulevard a modest little abode of one mr mike ermentrout and uh his car can frequently be seen here or literally wherever uh because there's probably a tracker on it so you'll just be able to find it [Music] now i don't think it's open today but here on the right is a lovely little diner called loyola's which she will recognize as the meeting place for mike and later even jimmy [Music] this is the cottonwood mall in albuquerque used to be home to a very famous cinnabon that lived right here unfortunately it looks like it's currently being refurbished or changed out for something else sads to see gene we'll have to find somewhere else to work [Music] a couple years ago i stopped in at this mall and was lucky enough to be here on the day they were actually filming an episode of backhoe soul i got to stand just up here and watch vince gilligan and his team direct some shots of gene putting out the sign in front of this very cinnabon right here so hopefully you'll be able to see some of those shots and work it out here's a really great location just off juan tabo 63 53 juan tabo no juan tabo boulevard northeast is this rather unassuming little day spa and nail center probably better known as jimmy mcgill's first office the girls were good to him in there but just don't drink the cucumber water cucumber water for customer only it's really crazy for me to be driving through albuquerque the place i have probably visited most by virtue of my best friend living here uh like this is the town i would drive around and just marvel at all of the american pop culture around me seemingly normal things like american grocery stores and fast food chains and just i would always kind of think wow it would be so cool to live here and now this is actually my life after this i don't have to fly back to the uk i get to drive home to the city in america where i live with my wife it's really crazy where life can take you anyway enough of the introspection let's look at some more filming locations [Music] one really cool aspect about spending time in albuquerque is the just driving around you'll see stuff that you're like i'm pretty sure i've seen that on one of my favorite tv shows like better call seoul here's another better call soul location just driving over this bridge the other day to go to costco i was like i'm pretty sure i recognize this little drainage ditch down here and i think that shot from this bridge was one of my favorite shots in i think season three where mike's going around to all the different dead drops and there's a really brilliant scene with this drainage ditch and then the city in the background all lit up at night with the mountains that you can kind of see and it's kind of zoomed in like this but basically uh this is that location i'm pretty sure and i stumbled across an interesting diagram someone had done an article about the cinematography effect called soul online and they showed this image that shows exactly how shots like this were set up with all the lighting and stuff it's very interesting so i was really excited to kind of stumble across this while start driving also i bet a lot of people think that seeing runoffs like this around town are kind of gross but i think it's really interesting to be in a town that has these arroyos as they're called that just you know function to drain i guess storm surges and flash floods from the high desert so they don't you know flood the roads and stuff it's very cinematic for people wanting to make movies and tv here [Music] here in the south valley of albuquerque where there are a couple of famous locations from both breaking bad and better call seoul first one is right here this lovely little restaurant el moreno this is the restaurant that's used as the home base for the salamancas where tuko and later fan favorite lalo salamanca hang out and count their drug money let's see if we can get a look inside [Music] of all of these locations we've been to there is one that is probably the most famous and it's this twisters fast food place better known as los pollos [Music] hermanos there it is twisters have been pretty open about the fact that they might not have been able to keep open surviving we're not for the great shows that have been filmed here both breaking bad and better call soul [Music] it's pretty cool just expect to see gus spraying coming and clearing out these trash cans well i hope this series has been informative for you as a fan of tv uh thanks very much for watching and stay tuned for more movie location videos and other fun stuff [Music] like and subscribe all the usual stuff from me from albuquerque for now see you later you
