today celebrating 70 years mighty god in this tabernacle worshipping the lord i want to thank you lord i want to thank you for the good times and the bad times we want to thank you lord for our mountaintop experiences and our valley's experiences you are the god of the mountain you are the god of the valley and we are thankful today you have blessed us hallelujah we thank you almighty god for bringing us together one more time we thank you lord god for those great patriots lord god has paved the way for us those that have blazed the trail almighty god we thank you lord for the life of bishop hustling and sister huslin mighty god i thank you i thank you you have used them in a great and mighty way oh god so today we have this glorious opportunity oh god to enjoy this great and mighty and full salvation i want to thank you lord the labor of love they shall not be in vain almighty god they have gone home to raise lord and they have labored long and hard they have made many sacrifices many self-denials for the kingdom of god henceforth we have a better tabernacle and sport we have a boscobel export we have refuge retreat and lord we want to give you all the praise the church has been through battles many storms and tempest but god you have helped us to weather the storm hallelujah the words that see the storms do not fear them see the wind don't be alarmed for if your soul can with a sorrow there will be a rainbow after the storm god we thank you we thank you jesus many have come and many of god but thank god the church stands predominant the stretch is still triumphant the church is still powerful almighty god we want to thank you lord for present leaders lord thank you the mandate has passed down to them bishop and sister mccoy and we want to thank you lord for their lives as they call you to build upon this rich and great legacy that has left behind by bishop and sister huslin i pray almighty god that you will come to bless them continue anoint them and use them god almighty as they lead your people by divine authority almighty god and the favor of god help us lord jesus to work together to live together to be united god for united we stand and divided we fall we thank you almighty god for bringing us thus far thank you you are still with us almighty god this church has been born in fire and it is the fire of the holy ghost that shall be taken us out lord keep us faithful keep us true i pray almighty god that you will call it to inspire a pastor call you to inspire him call you to guide him and direct him holy god to lead your people in this 21st century when everything around us seems like giving way but god on christ a solid rock we stand all over the ground is sinking sand we trust you lord then we trust you now and we'll trust you forever i declare almighty god you are the sovereign god you are the holy one of israel you promised never to leave not to forsake your children and so god we stand upon the authority of your words today and we declare in the atmosphere no principalities or power no spiritual wickedness in high places shall move us because your word said the gates of hell shall not prevail against the church of the living god we stand resolute we stand upon your promises lord we stand upon your words because you are faithful that promise help us to trust you and to lean upon you with all our hearts and help us in all our ways to acknowledge you and you the almighty god will direct our path we thank you for our faithful friends we thank you that remain with us lord faithful every sunday that you from genesis chapter 28 from verses 17 and 19. and he was afraid and said how dreadful is this place this is no other but the house of god and this is the gate of heaven verse 19 and he called the name of the place bethel but the name of that city was called lost at the first first psalm was seven verse 12 and samuel took a stone and sent it between miss ben and shen and called the name of eight ebenezer saying hitherto had the lord helped us acts 2 verse 38 and 39 then peter said unto them repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of jesus christ for renations of sins and he shall receive the gift of the holy ghost for the premise is unto you and to your children unto all that are far off even as many as lord our god shall call psalm 107 verse 1 together all give comes unto the lord for he is good for his mercy endureth forever here ended a portion of god's holy word blessed be the god and father of our lord jesus christ which according to his abundant mercy hath the church's ministry good morning bishop mccoy mrs mccoy and members of the better pentecostal church right here in orcharus i'd like to take this opportunity to congratulate you and your members on this this milestone that you have reached 70 years it's a truly remarkable time and the fact that you have done so much for so many people uh spreading the word of the lord and evangelizing it's truly a remarkable feat and i would like to recognize the work that you have been doing the members and of course all the other people that you're at your church it's a tough year uh corbett is among us and a lot of times people have to pray and fellowship online but as we're doing currently but let us hold stead we'll always remember the 70th anniversary and i would like to congratulate you for making the effort to really keep keep the spirit going and keep everyone together all the sheep in your flock as they evangelize for yet another 70 years of preaching and saving lives congratulations greetings in the name of the lord jesus christ from the world headquarters of the united pentecostal church international in saint louis missouri usa congratulations to bethel tabernacle united pentecostal church of ocho rios jamaica and bishop mccoy we congratulate you on your 70th anniversary what a wonderful occasion it is although i'm not able to be with you i celebrate with you thank god for a lighthouse that's been in the island of jamaica for 70 years may god richly bless you during this time and give you many wonderful years ahead greetings to bethel tabernacle and ultra reels what a privilege it is to get to come to you by this means although i prefer to be with you in bethel in person with bishop ogarth mccoy sister maxine the children and all the wonderful church i just want to say congratulations to you on your 70th anniversary of services in bethel what a great church it has been and is and will continue to be in the united pentecostal church of jamaica i have had the privilege of being able to be with you on several occasions and now with the situation that we have in our world haven't been able to be there for a year at least a year and so we're just believing the lord that you're gonna have a great time in your celebration above everything we have to remember that we do what we do for the kingdom is for jesus christ it's not about us it's not about our years of service it's about what he's done for us and what he's going to continue to do i'm believing the lord for great things to happen in the future and we're trusting that we will see about the past that we're gonna celebrate that we are celebrating we celebrate small beginnings we celebrate the favor of god we celebrate the grace of god we celebrate the keeping strength of god we celebrate godly leadership and we celebrate fellowship of the body of christ what is it about the future that we are going to embrace by the grace of god we are going to embrace the end time revival that the kingdom of god is going to experience in these last days amen let me take this opportunity also to recognize a host pastor bishop ogath mccoy amen and our co-moderator amen sister sean lee are sons and daughters of the soil and then we'll be having bishop and the sister dahlberg clark superintendents of the cayman island also daughter and son of the soil we'll be having pastor marcela ward francis who will be representing the better lights who are in various assemblies in the island of jamaica and then we'll be having greetings from odais poor amen and the saints in the diaspora they've been asked just to to give one word that will describe better in their view and likewise we'll be having coming towards us this time from the business community we'll be having mrs annette leon and she'll be coming to shear on behalf of the business community god bless you as you do so good afternoon everyone yes today i can tell you i'm feeling so proud to be here but first and foremost let me identify myself already i've been but let me say it for myself i'm annette leon and i'm the owner of big bend meats and grocery and today i can tell you i bring greetings from big bend meats and grocery to bethel apostolic on celebrating your 70th year anniversary which today marks the celebration day as you mark your 70th years of service to the church of god i want to join the christian fraternity and the business fraternity to wishing the brethren of this local congregation a happy 70th anniversary and much blessings from the lord may our good lord lead you in the next phase of service as you teach lives touch lives near and far away where the lord has proposed you to reach god bless you abundantly and i'll read from psalm 27 14 and it says wait upon the lord and be of good courage and he shall strengthen thine heart wait i say on the lord yes as a church let us wait on the lord always because he is the best he has the best plans for us i am happy to be a part or to say a partnership with bethel apostolic church for the last seven years of the 70 years and i can tell you this is my home church and you guys have been doing wonderful job and you set them to find a word that represents um bethel apostolic one word you're always gracious and you guys are full of humility and i'm happy to be a part and i will continue to be a part and i wish you all the best for this 70th anniversary and for the other 70 years to come may god bless you all greetings in the wonderful name of the lord jesus on behalf of my family as well as all the members of the oneness apostolic church family it gives me great joy to convey heartfelt congratulations to bishop and lady mccoy and the bethel tabernacle church family on such a notable milestone in the church's history bethel tabernacle continues to stand even in these last days as a beacon of light that is so brightly shining thank you for your faithfulness contribution to the kingdom of god since its inception bethel has weathered many many trials as well as many triumphant victories because of the solid foundation that was laid with much sacrifice you have come this far by faith i'm reminded of the old song that i learned long time ago as a matter of fact the first youth camp we attended it goes like this the old landmark still standing but the pilgrims have gone on i know they are happy with the lord in their brand new home and when the battle is over and the smoke is clear than god the old landmark still standing but the pilgrims have gone on bethel is still standing and will continue to stand because of the strong leadership by bishop and sister mccoy this is the finest hour of the church and so my prayers are that god will continue to bless you and give you the courage to embrace endless possibilities that will be afforded you in the years ahead we sincerely salute you and wish for you and your ministry continued success once again this is tea and i we extend congratulations work here in the cayman islands to celebrate with uh the leadership of jamaica the 70th anniversary of the early bishop nj huslin and first lady huslin his dear wife i want to also greet the the board the church board of the united pentecostal church upc j it is my pleasure to be with you all today may we stand tall as we have had a foundation laid for us all by our father an iconic apostolic uh uh example for the entire apostolic world not only jamaica but all across the globe i can recall when bishop huslin and evangelist urshan one of the father of pentecost uh when they receive that eagle award as too strong uh hero of the apostolic faith if we should do a bible for the past a couple of years since bishop husband came on the scene he would have been in certain like james like paul like the apostle peter we want to at this time stand with the saints of ochres and the leadership of the united pentecostal church of jamaica by the international body upci yes we want to stand with you all to celebrate at this moment sister clark and myself surfing clark the daughter of mother and bishop huslin she's with me at this time and want to share uh strong uh regret of losing such a father but knowing that he had left with a very powerful and strong testimony we have no doubt that we can stand and celebrate with the body of christ the apostle paul dying in rome when his head was hacked off a few minutes before they get the head off this brave apostle opens his mouth and said let me testify before you get my head off he said i've fought a good fight i've finished my course i've kept the faith and henceforth is laid up from your crown of righteousness i believe ladies and gentlemen that bishop nj hoslin a humble powerful apostolic iconic could share the same testimony we're not celebrating right now with sorrow because he has is lost we are celebrating because a hero like this could be in the place of the apostle paul john peter yes my friend that's how i see this bishop may we all at this time celebrate an open trust that we'll meet him on the other side not too long from now may soul rest in peace may god richly bless you brother clark today the 15th september 2021 marks the celebration of the 70th year of this outstanding milestone former better lights in jamaica and across the diaspora salute you with the tabernacle at 29 james avenue altruist and give cheers to your 70 years of apostolic service you have created a culture of longevity loyalty creativity and dearly gentileness efforts for the service of the lord jesus christ and this generation of recognition we are aware of the blue that is affording this incredible growth yes you owed all to the lord jesus christ as much as we owe a debt of gratitude for our excellent genesis error one of this church we have started from humble beginnings it is amazing to see how it has brought together such a large and hostility faith community over the 70 years owning membership of over 600. your many years of service our true testimony of your dedication to the united pentecostal church of jamaica and you are truly valued for your contribution we must recognize the former pastor and wife bishop m.j buslin and minister litha husband who impressively labored for years and served as a national superintendent for the united pentecostal church of jamaica for 16 years then chose pastor an advantage oh god the wentworth mccoy to continue this good work and bless ministry before their demands national superintendent bishop oga went towards mccoy the past members of this assembly united pentecostal church birthday with a strong membership we want to say thanks for being an essential part of the success of our spiritual growth your contribution is highly appreciated we're wishing you to go into all regions of austrias converting souls and developing them into effective witnesses for the glory of our lord jesus congratulations bethel on this your 70th year anniversary god bless praise the lord everyone betel is anointed glory hallelujah family inspirational thank you very much and at this time we'll be having moments in church history and we'll be having brother omar brown and sister amanda crawford they will be coming at this time to share with us moments in our church history the history of bethel tabernacle is chronicled over the past 70 years beginning on september 15 1951. we learned that the church started at point st james avenue with just seven faithful members who were so timid that they would hide when the members of a more prominent church were passing by but there are some facets of our history that i am sure many of us will find surprising and interesting for example did you know that our founding pastor the late bishop norman james emmanuel huds huslin was baptized in water in jesus's name on july 2 1942 and received the gift of the holy ghost less than two years later on january 18 1944 i bet you didn't know that he was also a student of the caribbean bible institute at wildman street in kingston jamaica did you know that when he met and fell in love with the person who would become his wife she was a young vibrant christian known then as lelitha titus on fire for the lord at pentecostal tabernacle walman street love certainly has no boundaries because one loving heart had set another on fire and sister lolita gracefully gave her a hand in marriage on august 26 1953 and relocated to sent and to labor alongside her husband in in what would become a sweet sterling relationship that all the dead could sever i concur as jamaicans would say lady huslin was the a key to bishop hustling salt fish i know that you are aware that bishop huslin served as national superintendent of the upcg but did you know that he was the first native of jamaica to be appointed to this office and that to date he is the longest serving national superintendent of the united pentecostal church of jamaica and this was immediately following his service as assistant national superintendent he served a combined 35 years in these two offices 35 years whoa talking about dedication and commitment to service well here is another one for you did you know that where the chair sits today was acquired shortly after battle inception during the rapid growth of the membership yes bishop hudson was certainly a man of vision he saw what the lord was doing and made room to accommodate the throne of souls that would help build the fellowship that we have today today our assembly is blessed to have leaders of various departments and ministries helping to carry out the vision of our pastor but did you know that the first two individuals to serve as deacon were brother oscar williams and eustace hey the first youth president was brother matt doyle did you know that the first local licensed minister in battle was the late evangelist beryl clementine affectionately called me and b was an evangelist yes she was wow every day i learned something new about bethel well here is a little history for you did you know that the first baptism took place by the sea in those days we had no music except for the tambourine and this was not by the person who got to it first our first choir consisted of sister thompson sister taylor sister clark sister pearson and sister maki was our first choir director speaking of firsts did you know that the first sunday school class started in december 1952 with connie bob's ivany neros eddie brenda and michael these were the children of some of our faithful members in those days on the school were small but powerful as there were reports of children who were playing in church at home who received the gift of the holy ghost some of these children include sister prilly sister roof the first three couples to be married by bishop hussein was mr and mrs ricky mcdonald mr and mrs vitero mr and mrs s johnson i know you have heard how in 1953 a then 19 year old sister janet trout on fire for the lord came to a point to preach at a week of services this one week became three weeks of dynamic soul stirring holy ghost-filled revival services which saw the saving of many souls but did you know since that it was during these three weeks of service that brethren such as deacon parkinson brother s johnson brother v taylor and the late brother james were safe i bet you did let me put down my mind take off my glasses just to ask you wipe your face brother wipe your face that's right i did you no question sister amanda and the virgin and saints of peter did you know that the late evangelist marie spike was the longest her venture secretary wow a politician she held for 37 years and did you know that today deacon armando parkinson is the longest servant deacon my god my god oh yes sister spike what a powerful woman of god she was in those days brethren would tremble when sister spike put on her purple gun that's all because you know that something extra ordinary was going to happen oh deacon parkinson fearful brother p i remember him always ensuring that the tabernacle was locked up and well secured bishop could always depend on him brother lattimore malcolm was one of the first musicians in battle musicians i said brother latimer malcolm was one of the first musicians in bethel in those days there were no fancy keyboards [Music] guitars electric guitars and this come on where are they the fancy ones the good old town marine the one that our present past i love to be where is it there is something on it something like that yes but when these anointed vessels started to play the shocking presence would just step in the sanctuary and think of residents hallelujah so you're telling me that bethel has a rich musical history a history of anointed playing by god give tell musicians yes that is exactly what i'm telling you speaking of which did you know that the very first hundredth time this was born out of the vision of our dead music director minister marlon williams to the room showcase better musical ministry all one glorifying god and we have seen over the years that andre sam has taken on a life of his own that of course was the gospel explosion the gospel what explored john as it all grew on the sanctuary we took it to the streets and held such effect and ultrasound is still being held and ultra is playing field in 2020 as recognition for the community impact of 100 psalms better was awarded the non-horse christian youth lifetime achievement of all my god forward for excellence in leadership christian fiction community development beautiful that goody man you are so correct brother brown it did take on a life of its own another event that certainly lives and breeds is youth greek and our annual motorcade this is a time that we all anticipate because it is guaranteed that we will experience a power week of anointed singing soul-stirring ministry of the word and of course the mighty move of god as souls received the darling holy ghost did you know that twice since relocating to our current home we had to expand the sanctuary to accommodate the growing membership yes when we relocated from point to this location the church was turned the other way as the membership grew the the need was evidence for a bigger space the first expansion saw us reconstructing and turning the church this way we need to have to extend again because of the growing membership the last expansion was dedicated to the lord in the year 2001 the word of the lord declares where there is no vision the people perish and bethel has been blessed with visionaries as leaders first in the person of the late bishop huslin and in our present leader bishop ogarth mccoy did you know saints that under the leadership of bishop mccoy the adjoining lot was purchased in 2010 to accommodate the growing church family yes bishop mccoy rallied the troops and like the soldiers we are we came together swords in hand banned our bellies and worked towards paying off the mortgage which was acquired to purchase the land while future plans are not yet finalized for this piece of land it has been fashioned into a well needed parking lot for the brethren the brethren whom the lord has blessed and has continuously been blessing with their personal modes of transportation no longer do the brethren have to park their vehicles by the side of the road we have a secure and close parking lot to utilize all praises to our almighty jesus all praises to our almighty jesus indeed have you ever heard about church planting well better has over the years been known to establish new works did you know that under the leadership of the lead bishop huslin those awards were started in rainbow yale pimento rock galina charlestown port antonio mangavari and retreat and most recently under the leadership of bishop mccoy and new work was established in basketball said mary and several preaching points in and around altruist community majority of these are no established churches yes a new era definitely began in june 2006 when pastor olgar w mccoy and his family were handed the button of leadership being installed as pastor of bethel tabernacle do you remember how bishop hustling entreated pastor mccoy with words that have left a permanent mark on our hearts and minds repeatedly stating feed my sheep feed my sheep you will recall i am sure that shortly after this the lord saw it fit to take his servant bishop n.j hussling home his life and legacy was celebrated on september 16 2006 at his home going service let me enlighten you on some other accomplishments and events that you may have forgotten or may not be aware of tell us brother bro we have had numerous bible quiz trophies and championships one battle has been known over the years for our wisdom that's right family sunday and sports day we have had any worry practically of course at times we have had several times of fellowship fun and food beautiful food yeah we have had a fear twice as a way of giving back to our community our expansion and physical upgrade project which is ongoing will secure the by constructing and installing a new perimeter wall as you would have noticed construction is ongoing shut the back of course on our and blue sanitation facilities to god be the glory great things he said across the globe battle is known as the lighthouse in all chariots a saving station and many miniatures has plunged [Music] four or better a number of individuals haven't been nurtured and matured better have gone on to become pastors and worldwide evangelists the church is indeed moving on and with her continuous growth we persist in seeking the lord's guidance as we take jamaica for his glory the new normal brought on by the coronavirus pandemic has impacted us as a body but we remain steadfast in our commitment to minister to the souls of men and winning the lost for his glory while for the better part of the last 18 months we have not been able to come together in one sitting as a fellowship we have been together virtually as services are hosted and shared by way of the zoo meeting platform and the live stream platforms on both youtube and facebook as we look to the future saints and cling to the promises of god to guide our next steps our hearts are filled with gratitude to our lord jesus christ for his sustaining grace it is he that has kept us it is he while we were not consumed it is he that deserves all the glory honor and praise we will not relent we will not retreat onward still tis as well in jesus name jesus pleasure to highlight the ministries and their efforts to the missions department thank you for your dedication and commitment over the years your passion for outreach and soul winning has greatly contributed to the growth of the church we appreciate your impact on the many souls that have been added to the kingdom the women's fellowship department we salute you ladies your dedication to service in the kingdom and your care and involvement brings a sense of family to the church thank you for your empowerment of our young ladies and encouragement of the older ones thank you for influencing the fellowship of the females in our church the men's fellowship department we salute you also you have brought together the men in the church to fellowship and work to achieve a brotherhood and for that we are grateful that in and of itself is commendable thank you for your hard work and commitment to the kingdom the sunday school department you have been instrumental in educating the members and even non-members about the word of god even in this pandemic you have been steadfast and intentional teaching the word of god to the different age groups in the church thank you thank you these are trying signs the youth department no more than ever the youths need an anchor and i strongly believe that the youth department has been doing an excellent job in showing the youth the way of the lord and showing them that holding on to jesus is well worth it thank you for all you have been doing and continue to do to the prayer ministry you have aided in providing a great source of solace in this terrible time many have found peace in the perm meetings that you have organized and look forward to joining the meetings for that hope that they receive and for the refreshing of their souls thank you for enforcing the need for relationship with god through continuous prayer to the bpta department that ensures the training and development of our skilled and unskilled workers thank you thank you for also showing us job opportunities team basketball and team retreat you have played an instrumental role in ensuring that the work of the lord goes on in the different areas you have held up the hand of our bishop by ensuring that we keep winning when he isn't able to be there thank you to each and every department and ministry i just want to let you know that your labor is not and will not be in vain the better tabernacle family is extremely grateful to have you and we pray that the lord will continue to bless you your faithfulness will be rewarded and the crown of life awaits you so the marriage ministry thank you for praying for our marriages and for constantly encouraging the couples in the family of god you have inspired and aided in the preservation of many bonds we appreciate you to the singles ministry thank you for giving our singles hope thank you for reminding them that singleness is a blessing and that they can enjoy it in holiness the hospitality ministry thank you for your care and dedication in ensuring that newcomers and even members feel welcomed whenever they visit the house of the lord thank you for attending whenever the need arised to ensure that comfort is given to the music ministry the levites thank you for working tirelessly to ensure that our services are filled with praise and worship you have been a huge blessing to the bethel tabernacle family and we are grateful and blessed to have each and every one of you many souls have been blessed by your ministry and i'm sure will continue to be blessed the multimedia ministry you have been nothing short of amazing the pandemic has forced us into a new normal and you have never disappointed or online services are always on time and the quality of the services are commendable thank you so much we pray that the lord continues to bless and keep you and inspire you on how to evolve to even greater things to the altar ministry you have unselfishly committed yourselves to the kingdom and have stood with persons who needed your support at the altar your ministry has touched many souls as well as aided in their deliverance thank you and shall we pastor for his years of service in the ministry august went towards mccoy hails from another bay in the parish of saint mary and is the only child produced from the union between daphne and ezekiel mccoy it was while attending titchfield high school that he received the call of god on his life and got baptized in the name of the lord jesus christ on march 10 1985 while attending the allotter bay united pentecostal church he later received the baptism of the holy ghost on may 1 1987. brother mccoy relocated to orcharias shortly after leaving high school and after a few years his god-given love for the world led him to enroll at the caribbean bible institute from 1989 to 1992 his gift of expounding the word of god and the passion for souls also led him into the field of teaching at the said entity while being a student he taught for approximately 13 years as the lord prepared him for a role that neither he nor the church family had anticipated he worked ardently in several ministries unseasonally and with much further it was during his successful leadership of the outreach ministry that he was assigned by our previous pastor bishop nj hustling to pioneer the work in retreat where a church was started we give god thanks for the continuance of same for the saving of souls in january 1998 the mccoy was appointed as the assistant pastor of bethel tabernacle and on june 1 2006 the follow-on was authorized by the then umpire bishop hussling for brother mccoy to assume the full-time position of pastor of the flock he has occupied several positions within the united pentecostal church of jamaica and currently serves as the national superintendent for the past 10 years he is a marriage officer for our island and holds a bachelor's degree in sacred theology find a need and fill it find a wound and heal it is the guide of pastor mccoy's life he is soul-oriented and will go the extra mile to win the lost at any cost it's no wonder that through the many struggles our daughter assembly bethel tabernacle basketball is still standing tall under god he has been married to his beautiful wife evangelist maxine mccoy for the past 24 years coming next month will be 25 years praise god and the union has produced two terrific children matthew and michaela and i want to say to them continue to honor thy father and thy mother which is the first commandment with promise that it may be well with thee and that thou mayest live long on the earth sir continue to feed the flock over which the holy ghost have made you an oversale to feed the church of god which he has purchased with his own blood sister mccoy continue to stand behind beside your husband and give him the strength and the support that he needs under god because when the home is right the church will be right under god praise the lord jesus right now sir we can never say enough to give honor and gratitude to our lord jesus christ for all that you have been doing in this ministry right here at bethel and our daughter assemblies refuge tabernacle retreat bethel boscobel we know you don't like all the many sentiments but it says that we are to give the roses while the person is alive we give honor to our great god and so as you follow christ we indeed will follow you praise the name pastor we can never repay you for all that you have been doing in god's kingdom but we want to ensure we give you the roses while we live continue to feed the flock over which the lord jesus christ hath made you an overseer it says with our greatest appreciation we hereby honor bishop or garth mccoy for your countless hours of labor done in love for the ministry and your faithful dedicated service to god you are a gift from god a blessing to our congregation and we love you let the elders that rule pentecostal church of jamaica i'd like to greet my wife and i found in a very special way and to all the better rights wherever you are i greet and celebrate you in the wonderful name of our great god and our savior jesus christ mark twain in his book the tale of two cities made a statement and i quote it was the best of times it was the worst of times in spite of the global pandemic which has literally created mayhem right across our never before in our history as the future of the church seem as bright as it is in this art our lord and savior jesus christ declared in matthew 16 and verse 18 and i quote and i say also unto thee that thou art peter and up on this rock i will build my church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it it is fitting brothers and sisters to note the success of better tabernacle united pentecostal church 29 champs avenue ocho rios st and jamaica over the past 70 years it is interesting to note that this period of 70 years could not have been possible without incredible sacrifices and perseverance yes brothers and sisters ladies and gentlemen we pause to highlight our former pastor and wife bishop and sister norman james emanuel hussley who pioneered this work and also the many star wars to help him to blaze the trail and made such an impact on this terrain this atmosphere and all the accomplishments that we have achieved and it is as a result of these sacrifices is on the shoulders of these renowned giants that we now stand as we embrace and herald our godly heritage and of course we need to understand that we have a great legacy one important aspect of understanding who we are as a people is the ability to recognize and cherish where and how we first began september 15 1951 approximately 70 years ago gave birth to this assembly as a part of the united pentecostal church of jamaica family and hope how we have grown to love and appreciate our church this assembly has produced many visionaries leaders creatures pastors and daughter assemblies and we say to god be the glory bethan tamilnadu united pentecostal church we have come a long way and indeed there is much to celebrate but our work is not yet done amidst this global pandemic and with so many thousands of souls plummeting every hour into the very fires of hell god has provided us with an open door to territories ready to conquer as we salvage these lost souls for eternity as we embrace the theme celebrate in the past embracing the future i therefore encourage us to remain steadfast unmovable always abounding in the work of the lord for as much as he know that your labor is not in vain in the lord first corinthians chapter 15 and verse 58 it has been a pleasure and an honor for my wife family and i to labor with you especially over the last two decades or so we recognize the great legacy and rich heritage which has been handed down to us by our father in the faith and by god's grace and help we pledge under god to continue to labor to reap the harvest and anticipate serving with you until our commander and chief say come up higher god bless you richly in jesus precious name let's lift our hands unto the lord one more time as we worship him praise the blessed name of the lord jesus christ hallelujah to the lamb of god and at this moment in time without further ado it is my privilege to introduce the one who has been chosen to preach the message for this our 70th anniversary year celebration pastor rashidi f collins he was called to preach the gospel of jesus christ at an early age born in kingston jamaica pastor collins later migrated to the united states where he served in the united states air force eventually entered into full-time ministry at new life tabernacle united pentecostal church under the leadership of bishop daniel m davie subsequently he was sent by bishop david to plant victor tabernacle upc in tampa florida where he spent over 10 years building a great assembly his ministry has led him to preach the acts 238 message in all parts of the world including north america south africa asia europe and the caribbean pastor collins has a tremendous passion for people and a compelling burden for the city of tampa in the usa he returned to new life tabernacle upc and has become the full-time pastor of that congregation pastor collins is married to the love of his life charlene collins and the father of two beautiful children judah and gabrielle brothers and sisters once again and without further ado we introduce none other than pastor rasheedy f collins god bless him as he comes and preach as thus said the lord god bless you all as we lift our hands and receive him in jesus mighty name [Music] well praise the lord bethel on your 70th anniversary we're so grateful to be involved in this wonderful celebration we know that god's getting ready to do something mighty in the church we certainly want to greet bishop mccoy and lady mccoy and congratulate them and congratulate the wonderful saints that are there amen ebenezer god has brought you this far and he didn't bring you this far to let you go now so you know amen that you're getting ready to enter into a brand new season of blessing and victory i won't be long with you today it is a great honor to be asked to be involved in any way shape or form but to be asked to bring a word to this assembly on this 70th anniversary uh we are deeply deeply honored jeremiah chapter 29 and verse 10. i'm going to begin reading there the bible says for thus saith the lord that after 70 years be accomplished at babylon i will visit you and perform my good word toward you in causing you to return to this place for i know the thoughts that i think toward you saith the lord thoughts of peace and not of evil to give you an expected in then shall you call upon me and you shall go and pray unto me and i will hearken unto you and you shall seek me and find me when you shall search for me with all your heart let's pray together father we thank you for your grace and for your mercy thank you for this anniversary celebration lord god thank thank you that you've brought us this far lord jesus christ i pray for this assembly that your hand will be upon them that you will bless them and keep them that you'll make your face to shine upon them and be gracious unto them that you lift up your countenance upon them and give them peace as we share your word today i pray every heart will receive with meekness lord god the engrafted word which is able to make them wise unto salvation bless your people today lord god save heal and deliver and give us wisdom knowledge and understanding we bind satan in the name of jesus we forbid him to operate and loose the power of the holy ghost to take full control of the atmosphere now have your way in this service will be careful to give you all the honor all the glory and all of the praise in jesus name somebody say amen this particular text that we're going to deal with here is quite fitting for the celebration of this 70th anniversary i want to talk to you on this subject today leaving babylon behind leaving babylon behind i want you to understand that the context here jeremiah the prophet is speaking to the captives and these captives of course the house of judah the people of judah that have been in babylon and babylon of course is representative of evil i want you to know that babylon has its uh genesis with nimrod genesis chapter 10 nimrod the descendant of ham founds babylon he is the founder of babylon and it is a type of the antichrist system by the time we get to genesis chapter 11 verse 1 you see that they're getting ready to build a city and a tower that can reach to heaven and this was because they had emerged from the flood their ancestors had emerged from the flood and they were going to do something to counteract god they wanted to do something that god could not overcome they were going to build a tower to go up to heaven so that the judgment of god could never find them again and of course we know the story god came down to see the tower that they were building him he confounded their language he confused them and scattered them this is how we come to have the nations amen in the world but can i tell you that that babylonian system that was founded then persists to this day amen babylon became a nation state and israel had to deal with babylon in their time king nebuchadnezzar came down to judah and took the people of judah captive and destroyed the temple looted the temple and destroyed the temple and god allowed this to happen he allowed this to happen because of the idolatry of the people he allowed this to happen because of the sin that was prevalent amongst them this babylonian system amen it's a political and economic and social and religious system that manifested itself as a nation-state dealing with the nation of judah and nebuchadnezzar even had a dream where he saw this great statue of successive empires babylon which was then replaced by mido persia then replaced by greece then replaced by the romans and we're dealing with the remnants of the roman empire even now it's all the system of babylon and so in the context here uh jeremiah uh dealing with judah had told them that this babylonian captivity was a necessity because god had brought judgment to judah there was punishment that needed to take place there was atonement that needed to take place because of the sin of the people and so god determined that judah would be in captivity in babylon for 70 years 70 years would have to be accomplished because the land had to get rest from the idolatry from the wickedness from the sin that was there the 70 years represented amen a sabbath if you will a rest that had to take place god said i'm going to keep judah down there in babylon for 70 years and jeremiah warned them don't let any prophet tell you that you can get out of this until the 70 years be accomplished if they try to tell you that they are false prophets they have not been sent by god they had to deal with the 70 years of captivity and god told them go ahead and relax in your captivity in other words uh live your life get married have children build houses and then when you look at those 70 years you can be fruitful god was telling them while you're in babylon but rest assured you've got to deal with the captivity but then god said there is there is some some finite action that has to take place this doesn't go on forever there is a termination point because at the end of 70 years i'm going to visit you and i'm going to take you out of babylon and i'm going to perform the word that i already spoke over your life i don't know who's listening on this service today amen but i feel to just say prophetically to bethel to the saints in osha rios amen that you are at a prophetic crossroad you are act amen a place where something is about to shift there is a shifting taking place amen prophetically in that assembly because god told the children of israel that after 70 years i'm getting ready to bring you out and i'm going to do some things in your life because he said i know the thoughts that i think toward you saith the lord thoughts of peace and not of evil to give you an expected end so god wants me to talk to you today about this prophetic shift that's taking place where you're going to leave babylon behind you have been a beacon of light for 70 years in the middle of a babylonian system i want you to know that the jesus name apostolic church the united pentecostal church in ochreas bethel the house of god has been a place of refuge for souls in a babylonian system your church has been the light in the midst of darkness you have been there in that city in the great parish of sinai in the island of jamaica that is governed by spiritual forces wicked spiritual forces that that show themselves from time to time in the nation in one form or the other listen bethel you're not wrestling against flesh and blood but against principalities and powers against the rulers of the darkness of this world against spiritual wickedness in high places every region has a ruling principality and spirit and jamaica is no different the parish of sin and is no different and i said this to you before and i'll say it again that saint anne has a prophetic role to play because the apostolic movement really found its strength and stability in sin and and that is because historically saint anne was a point of entry a man christopher columbus showed up in saint anne when the old world met the new and that was showing or prefiguring what was going to take place in the spirit realm that something new was going to come into the island and it was jesus name baptism it was the infilling of the holy one god doctrine right now somebody ought to thank god for acts 2 38. somebody ought to thank god for the preaching of the holiness of the word of almighty god separation from the world without which in power amen we used to talk a lot about jesus coming back but people have gotten so complacent now that they don't want to hear about jesus coming back they want to hear about what god is going to bless them with down here but we need to turn our eyes amen to calvary and we need to have a maid of mind that this world is not our home we're just passing through our treasures are laid up somewhere beyond the blue the angels beckon us from heaven open door and we can't feel at home in this world anymore we need to get back to the reality of the impending return of the lord jesus christ we are coming close to the rapture of the church we're coming close to the great gathering together that jesus prophesied to us amen the angel is going to shout and the trumpet is going to sound and the dead in christ will rise first and we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them to meet the lord in the air and soul shall we ever be amen with the lord according to corinthians we'll be changing the movement in the twinkling of an eye amen it's going to be so quick the molecules in your body the atoms in your body will be transformed by the sound of the voice of almighty god and you will have a glorified body that is able to transcend the surly bonds of earth and we will walk with jesus amen in heavenly places i wish somebody would get excited now i wish somebody would shout hallelujah i wish somebody would shout thank you jesus that he is coming back for a church without spot or wrinkle he told us in john amen if you believe in god believe also in me in my father's house there are many mansions if it were not so i would have told you i go to prepare a place for you that where i am you may be also amen jesus is coming back for the church somebody ought to be excited that you're going to escape this entire babylonian system everything that this world has to offer all this covet all these diseases the pestilence of the world the trials and the tribulation everything that is down here that's trying to steal your joy that's trying to steal your peace god almighty is about to deliver the church up there is a great escape amen that is taking place from babylon can i tell you the only way to get out of this sinful wicked system amen is those that have been baptized in jesus name those that have been filled with the gift of the holy ghost with the evidence of speaking in other tongues those that hold to the oneness of god those that are living a holy separated life amen god has made a way for you out of nowhere you have nothing to fear but fear itself because we have a promise from god we have a word from god that's telling us that we're on our way to glory somebody ought to shout with a voice of triumph because you know that god is making a way for the church out of no way i feel like praising him and for about five seconds would you lift your hands and just shout hallelujah right where you're standing or right where you're sitting right now secondly i want to speak prophetically amen to bethel glory to god amen it's been 70 years that you have been laboring to preach the gospel to that region but god said i know the thoughts that i'm thinking towards you saith the lord thoughts of peace and not of evil to give you an expected end you're going to call upon me god says and you shall go and pray unto me and i will hearken unto you and you will seek me and find me when you search for me with your whole heart i believe prophetically that god is getting ready to move your church into a dimension of prayer and worship and demonstration that has never been experienced in the life of the church i want you to hear what i'm saying that in the next few months and in the next few years in spite of the pandemic in spite of everything that the church is facing in spite of trouble within and without god is taking you to a higher level of consecration to a higher level of prayer to a higher level of praise and worship miracle signs and wonders are getting ready to be released in that congregation it's going to be released in the houses of the families that are a part of that great church it's going to be released in that city it's going to be released in the parish and what takes place in bethel is going to reverberate across amen the island of jamaica god almighty is about to do miraculous things blind eyes are about to be open deaf ears are about to be unstopped amen people are going to get up out of wheelchairs i believe the lame gonna walk i believe that diseases that are terminal amen will be reversed by the power of almighty god i believe that witchcraft amen will be broken off of the lives of the people of god that are in that church i feel amen are refreshing that's coming into that assembly there's a fresh anointing getting ready to be poured out and that anointing is going to destroy every yoke every curse will be reversed in the name of jesus christ generational curses are being broken as i am preaching the word right now somebody is about to bring a man of blessing into that house amen debts are about to be canceled in the mighty name of jesus building programs that have been stalled are getting ready to open up and go forward amen everything that's been trying to block the church from making progress by the power of the holy ghost we're tearing it down now in jesus name i come to tell bethel that the weapons of your warfare are not carnal but mighty through god to the pulling down of strongholds casting down every imagination and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of god and brings every thought in captivity to the obedience of christ jesus bethel you might as well shout hallelujah you might as well give god the glory because 70 years have been accomplished and the prophecies that have gone forth on the church you're about to see prophecy come to pass over your church like you have never experienced before listen you're about to enter into the season of fulfillment i'ma say that again you are walking into the season of fulfillment you're about to see the fulfillment of 10 years ago a word came to bethel that 10 year old word is about to come to pass 30 years ago a word came to bethel about things that would happen in the future that 30 year old word is about to come to pass oh i feel in the holy ghost amen that the blessing of the lord is about to be released because an atonement has been made and 70 years have been accomplished this is not a normal number this is a prophetic number this is a season where god's about to bring things to pass hallelujah and you can lift up the name of jesus and glorify the king of kings because it's happening right now and thirdly can i just speak to you individually in the last seven minutes of this message amen every individual member will begin to experience what the body is experiencing collectively i want you to know that if you're a faithful part of that church and you're holding up the hands of the man of god and you're supporting the work of god in your prayer amen and with your time and energy and resources that god has not forgotten your faithfulness god sees amen and knows what you're going through individually he knows what's going on in your house he knows how the devil has tried to steal your children he knows how the enemy has tried to mess with your marriage he knows a man that your ministry has been under attack he knows financially that you've been up against the greatest struggle that you have ever seen but jesus is saying i know the thoughts that i'm thinking to you thoughts of peace i've got a plan for your life your children will be saved your family will be put back together your marriage will reconcile your ministry will be restored your finances will be blessed victory is coming to your life no weapon that is formed against you shall be able to prosper god said that you are more than conqueror amen that you are the head and not the tale i'm getting ready to put you in front am not behind i'm getting ready to put you above and not beneath her and this is why amen on this 70th anniversary you need to worship jesus you need to lift him up you need to clap your hands to all your people and shout unto god with a voice of triumph and a voice of victory because you're not shouting from man this is not for the glory of man but this is for the king of kings and the lord of lords the conquering lion of the tribe of judah the bright and the morning star the lily of the valley the fearest of ten thousand he which was
