(Slurps) - Yes! Tea just wasn't cutting it. Back to coffee. It's Two Minute Tuesday, let's go. (Upbeat music) - Alright, first things first, I bought something new today, that's what we're talking about. Let me go open it up real quick before we throw that timer on the screen. (Dramatic music) - Okay, welcome back to yet
another Two Minute Tuesday. So great to have you
here, and today's topic we are discussing microphones. The best ones to use
for your vlogs, the ones that I use for my vlogs
and my kind of on the go, on the run, gorilla
style film making videos. Not so much your tutorial boom mic stuff, but more so on camera microphones. I held out a little while to get this, I wanted to see some reviews,
but after playing with it for a few hours here, I
just had to share it with you. Let's throw two minutes on the clock. (boom sound) - Let's begin. So here it is, the new
Rode VideoMic Pro Plus. This will be the new microphone
I use for all my vlogging content for one main reason and that is, when you turn the camera
on, the mic turns on. When you turn the camera
off, the mic turns off. I can't even begin to tell
you how many shots I've missed because I've forgotten to turn on the mic, or I've left it on and the mic is dead, and I come back to my camera, and I have no battery power left. And let's be honest where can you find a nine volt in a pinch? You can't. Which brings me to the
next thing, they included a lithium ion battery, and it's good for over a hundred hours
of audio recording. Which is just incredible. Rode, thank you so much. Third, you can remove the cable now, so if your cable gets
damaged you don't have to buy a brand new mic, you can
just buy a new cable. Or you can put an extension cable on this and use it as a boom if you don't have an actual boom mic up above. (clicks) - What's up? But how much better is this
from it's predecessors? And let's be honest, I have quite a few. Let's take a look. We have the Rode VideoMicro. We have the original VideoMic PRO. We have the updated Rode VideoMic PRO. The main difference from
the Rode VideoMic PRO that was just updated by the Plus, to it's predecessor, is the rycote mount. You'll notice the mounts
on this one are different than this one. Now these mounts were way
better for eliminating unwanted pops and stuff like
that within your videos, that's why I upgraded from
this one, to this one. Now here's two accessories
that you might find helpful if you're using on camera mics. Number one, an extension cord. In case you want to
run this as a boom mic. And if you want to do so, something like a magic friction arm. You can just clip it to
the desk or your tripod with that extra long
cable you could run it to your camera and run
this as a boom, directly under or above or to
the side of your mouth, so you can get crispy audio
out of an on-camera mic without having to buy an actual boom mic, and run an XLR cable. Let's switch over to the
vlogs set up and here what these mics sound like. So I'm going to keep the audio
settings exactly the same within this camera, so the
only difference will be the mic quality itself. (Shh sound) Alright what is going on? Testing out the Rode VideoMicro. Woo! Current Rode VideoMic PRO. Alright everybody what's going on, this is the current Rode VideoMic PRO. This is the one I will be
replacing with the new one that you're going to
hear in just a second. And now for the new one. Oh oh! (Shh sound) Alright, what's up? This is the new Rode VideoMic Pro Plus. That's a mouthful to say,
but how does it sound? Hopefully it should sound the best. I've changed nothing on
the mic settings itself. There you have it! Now it's important to say
to you that these aren't the only new features of this microphone. It has so many new
enhancements and improvements that are going to help you
get the best quality sound for your videos. This is by no way a scientific
review, but I'm just stating the obvious changes that
are going to make my life so much better! So all in all, yes, the
Rode MicVideo Pro Plus is significantly better than
all of the earlier versions. If you were to buy a mic for
vlogs, or for your camera onboard, then that is the
mic I recommend you buying. So that's it for me guys. Hit that like button
if you like this video. Smash it, if that's
something that you're into. Subscribe if you aren't already, and, and, I will see you
guys in the next video. (Shh sound) (upbeat music)
