this is a 35 millimeter this is a 50 millimeter this is an 85 millimeter and this is a 135 millimeter which is the best lens for portraits so the one thing you're going to notice at every focal length is the compression from each lens which will basically enhance the bokeh and get you an extremely blurry background so looking at the 35 millimeter photo keep an eye on these two buildings in the 50 millimeter photo these buildings look bigger now keep an eye on the shape of this building we look at the 85 millimeter photo this building keeps getting bigger and even closer and it's the same thing for our 135 millimeter photo I personally love shooting with a 35 millimeter for portrait it's not wide enough to distort your subject's face and that's why you won't really see a difference between these shots it captures a lot more environment around your subject and doesn't completely obliterate the background making every shot look the same the longer the focal length the farther you have to be away from your subject and the less versatile you'll be with your lens
