Best Budget Automatic Knives!

how's it going guys this is holly with grindworx and today we are talking about the best budget automatic knives on grind works now i said budget to me that means that these are all at or under about a hundred dollars so best budget knives although i got to tell you that after really looking through these these may also be just the best automatic knives that you can get on grind works and i'm really excited to tell you why so first off we're going to look at what many of you probably expected to see on the list that is a boker kalashnikov this one's a little different i decided to choose something a little out of the ordinary this one is the warncliff style it's seven and a half inches in total length with a three and a quarter inch blade that's oz 8 steel in a worn cliff style flat grind and a black finish there's your aluminum handle it's three and a half ounces and there's your tip up deep carry pocket clip with a lanyard hole down there on the pommel people absolutely love the kalashnikov for a few very specific reasons it's got unbelievably strong action i mean just listen to that snaps open really hard and fast every single time and it's a really good balance of quality and price i mean this thing right here runs for right around 43 dollars currently on the site there is nothing else out there that has action this good at this price it's got great ergonomics it's very well built uh these are the these are the knives that just refuse to quit so not only are you getting a really good knife but i mean you're not paying a whole lot for it so definitely a favorite right there next up this is the akc extreme ace i've shown you guys this one before i have not shown you this color combo before this is the silver edition this runs right around fifty five dollars it's eight and a half inches long with a 3.625 inch blade this is also oz 8 steel in a spear point style with a flat grind and a nice matte black finish this is also a really beautifully milled aluminum handle it's 3.34 ounces and it does also have a tip up carry pocket clip no lanyard hole on this one but there's a pretty good reason for that the ace features a really sleek streamlined design that is kind of a slight nod to akc's beginnings with italian style knives so you know we've got a little bit of what looks like swivel bolster a swivel bolster here and a bolster down there on the pommel a little channel running down the middle so just to give you a little reminder of the amazing italian knives that akc has done for many many years but beautifully designed knife great fit and finish also fairly snappy and it's not a bad price either next up let's take a look at my personal favorite on the table this is the kershaw launch 11. i it butts right up to that hundred dollar mark it's six and three quarter inches in total length with a 2.75 inch blade so fairly small blade actually cpm 154 steel and what they're calling a clip point style with a flat grind and a nice black stone wash finish so kind of a darker stone wash we've got the aluminum handle here with this nice window milled through it's just barely over two ounces so very lightweight and it does have a tip-up carry pocket clip that is reversible that can go to the opposite side there and then the trick that kershaw sometimes does with their launch series is they've moved this back spacer up a bit so that you've got a bit of a lanyard hole down there i personally love this knife i love the size and the weight i think it makes a great edc i love the open design it's very simple there's definitely some visual interest i love this contrasting pivot but overall it's just kind of clean and straightforward decently snappy action really cool design next up we have the mykov 241 predator this is a design out of the czech republic runs right around 80 bucks it's eight and a half inches overall with a three and a quarter inch blade this is 420 steel in a bayonet style and a nice high polished finish we have a wood handle it's got stainless steel liners as you see this is a lever lock 5.2 ounces so a little heftier even if personally this isn't my favorite knife on the table i think it's easily the most beautiful it's a very classic design very very clean i love that the lines are really modern and simple but this wood handle really gives it some warmth it has fantastic action it's got a very very stiff spring snaps open very quick very hard locks up really clean so a beautiful knife and i think it's a great collector's piece i mean if you want to carry it make it your edc you certainly could the lack of a pocket clip and just generally the more traditional design i think it lends itself a little more to being a really good collector's piece especially for those who like maybe italian style knives but want to see something that's a little different a little outside the italian box so to stay beauty lastly we have the boker mini strike i know it might be a little bit unfair that there's two bokers on the table but i mean come on really well priced automatic knives is kind of what boker does among a million other things so we've got 6.375 inches overall this is a 2.625 inch blade this is in d2 steel a drop point style with a flat grind and a black stone wash finish we've got aluminum handle here with stainless steel liners and a tip up deep carry pocket clip along with a lanyard hole again this also isn't my favorite but i'd say this is the best bang for your buck on the table i mean it's the same price right around 43 as the kalashnikov but it has several features that i think totally put it over the top i mean first of all you've got the upgraded steel d2 that's fantastic it's got really solid action doesn't hit quite as hard as the kalashnikov but still very very clean i think that it can serve well as an edc but it's built really tough it's obviously meant for harder use than the kalashnikov i mean you've got this really really sturdy handle very texturized great jimping the blade is a little wider now keep in mind this is the mini i chose this because i have small hands and it fits my hand very well but there's also the full size which has a three and a quarter inch blade considerably bigger than the kalashnikov but it's only a few dollars more it's just under 50 bucks so considering what you're getting i mean don't forget there's also a safety switch down there just to provide you some extra security this is all around just a great good performer could stand up to more intensive use i think than some of the other ones here on the table so considering everything you're getting i really do feel like this is the best deal and as i said i mean budget automatic knives is just kind of what boker does so definitely check out the boker automatic knife category on the grind works website because there's tons more where these came from many other really interesting cool models some of which just came out
