wow on a first snowfall here in the smokies and Christy says let's go get some breakfast it's one of our favorite places and I said you know what it's one of the few places I'd actually go out in the snow for well sometimes though there's so many breakfast places around sometimes it's hard to see the forest through the trees or the snow but you won't have a problem here we want to welcome you to the farm because this in right here in sville is Five Oaks Farm kitchen [Music] Five Oaks Farm kitchen is located at 1638 Parkway in sville right across from the Tanger Outlets we're going to take a quick look at some of the beautiful theming on the outside of the building as as well as the inside it is just gorgeous and you can warm up at this beautiful fire pit we'd love for you to stay tuned to the end of the video where we're going to tell you how you can win a gift card to 5 Oaks Farm [Music] kitcheny it's time for us to go in once you go into five o Farm kitchen you're going to be greeted with the hostess desk where you will check in and they'll tell you whether or not there is a wait and then you see this Grand foyer and Treeway area they've also got wonderful merch with some really cute t-shirts that you can buy and they do have upstairs dining as well but there is an elevator if you need one today we are going to be on the main level where you're going to find the long Farmhouse tables with the benches with many many size es for different parties we're having breakfast on this snowy day we are are you ready to see one of the best things about this place yeah how about that they call it a farm siiz cinnamon roll with homemade sweet icing now I don't really want to share this with Christy but I'm going to because sharing is caring but look at the size of this thing it is literally the size of my face you're sharing like it or not you're [Music] sharing I feel like I'm in a movie or something here do you remember the Sword and the stone how about the knife and the cinon at this love I want to know what part of this do you want it's all about the center baby you want the center don't you so I'm going to I'll just I'll just have a slice so you got you some coffee and you've got the piece of cinnamon roll got my coffee yeah [Music] and they always have good coffee here at Five Oaks yes and a cinnamon roll have a bite of the cinnamon roll of with which it is so big that we end up taking more than half of it home yeah it is a big big thing [Music] yummy always for tril in a cinnamon roll it's yeasty it's sweet it's yummy it's cinnamon I like that and the icing is actually not a thick like cream cheese icing it's more like a cream cheese whipped cream gotcha so it's very light it's not um it doesn't weigh it down it's just kind of a nice nice how about the cinon roll is it pretty heavy or is that pretty light as well it is actually lighter than it looks yeah so yeah this is one of my favorite things here okay and on a cold snowy Smoky Mountain morning a cinnamon roll is just what Dr John Ole ordered that's right tell me what you think about the cinnamon [Music] roll you're shaking your head you're right about the icing the icing is um is not very thick and it's not real heavy but it has a great sweetness to it without being overly sweet yeah it's just a nice cinnamon roll isn't it yeah and it does have a good amount of cinnamon in it very important of course but overall I love it I'm going to say that the theme of breakfast today especially with the snow is healthy and Hearty so christe's going with a great healthy option here of course you've got the biscuit on top but this is called the co-op casserole there's three eggs scrambled sauteed mushrooms Tomatoes zucchini spring onion spinach and then swiss cheese all of that is baked in the cast turn Skillet on top of their call it home fries ribbon cut potatoes whatever you want to call it but it looks outstanding and one of my favorite things at Five Oaks is actually their grits and I always get them with cheese so looking forward to having some delicious creamy wonderful grits at Five Oaks Farm kitchen I am ready to try my breakfast here at at Five Oaks okay first of all they did not skimp on the cheese cuz my biscuit is now a Cheesy biscuit cheesy biscuit so this is the vegetarian uh skill Coop casserole Co-op casserole and there is lots of goodness in there and what I'm going to do before yeah you can see all the veggies mushrooms fresh fish spinach potatoes there on the bottom of course you got your eggs but one thing I'm going to do before is I'm feeling a little spicy oh yes yes ma' this morning get a little spice going on there I tell you're spicy and Sassy my little sassy pants um sassy pants so this biscuit is probably going to go to the side and it's it's going to end up going home because there they're just enormous it's a big old biscuit uh but I will try a bite for you actually you know maybe Brook can just try his biscuit but look at that got the perfect bite built there with a little bit of everything it's beautiful for you everything okay so far everything's great it's going great good service is always tremendous that is so good I never had this before I actually usually get what Brooks gets got there those black 40 but I thought I would try the um the vegetarian lower carb kind of option but that is awesome Ling that's really good a lot of cheese they put a lot of cheese everything is seasoned just nice um you can even put a little ketchup on that if you like ketchup okay it'd be good with a little salsa if they had it but yeah I'm going for another bite and then I'm going to try my grips yes m that's a gem I like that all right all right I mean I've heard it said that grits are grits but not necessarily ain't that right I ain't going to say kiss my [Music] grits um I was not a fan of grits until I came to five Oak's Farm Kitchen yes and it's their grits that made me into a fan of grits all right not even kidding spoon twirl just doing it right their grits with or without cheese are just so good and so creamy one of my favorite things about coming here isn't that weird is the Grits but everything is actually always very good at p ools and that's why it is definitely on our top three breakfast in the Smokies yes you ready to try yours I'm ready okay and for me it is the hearty side of breakfast this is called the back 40 so we went from cast IR Skillet to hubcap that is a pan fried pork tenderloin that is uh smothered in good old sausage gravy you've got biscuits cheesy eggs scrambled eggs and then of course you've got buttery grits and some nice looking hash browns you got a hub capab there if I was painting for gold I hit the motherload I think you did that's right Port Tender Loin smothered in that good old sausage gravy and I'm I'm with you the fact that Tasco is on the table I want that for my grits a little for my potatoes and my eggs but now I'm a little crazy and I don't know if you do this or not but who out there is a fan he puts ketchup on his eggs I always thought that was weird but I I've come around to it she is coming around to it I want to know in the comments below are you a ketchup on eggs person because I don't know for some odd reason I think it just I love tomatoes it just feels good salsa and eggs yes yes all right first of all they're nice and fluffy first thing I was going to say they are very very light fluffy there's my favorite grits have a good consistency mine are just butter but they are so creamy I did that up a little bit too well that is how grits should be done it is potatoes are great Fri I love how thin they slice their they're potatoes they're home fries golden brown though however you want to call them hash browns home fries biscuit so the biscuits are absolutely cat head biscuits they are cat head biscuits they are huge I mean that is that is monstrous yeah the inside very very nice it's that's a very fluffy light biscuit so it may have a lot of size to it but it is very light and I love I love that good old sausage gravy oh and the you oh you've got the biscuit gravy you haven't even got into the pork yet their gravy is good for tenderloin how's gravy gravy is just amazing and you know you can't get good gravy everywhere I am very fussy about gravy cuz I make a good gravy on my own so it's got to be close look how nice that ised see that is actually my one of my favorite things here is the the back 40 everybody knows about my affair with a pork pener loin I was feeling a little veggie this morning it's just really nice like I said they season that so nice it's not so well done that it's not it's very tender the pork is very tender I said over all it's just a wonderful breakfast and you'll have probably something to go home because who can eat all that by the way with this I got something coming up to show you not only that guys but you also with these big breakfast get this wonderful griddle cake they call the griddle cake that's like a stack of pancakes but it's just one big solid one okay so I'm back with a jugga syrup juger syrup for this beautiful gdle cake and I just want you guys to see this syrupy syrupy [Music] goodness y me now their their pancakes are truly a pancake they sweet butter and little powdered sugar on the top you know what these are actually a lot lighter than you think too they actually are I enjoy them whenever I've gotten one looks very dense but it is not at all how golden brown and nice that is on the bottom look at that I love it get in about of this say I'm not a big tweets guy but that right there that keeps me coming back every time I want you to tell us in the comments how you like your biscuits besides if you like it with gravy would you choose strawberry jam grape Jam or apple butter I think I'm in an apple butter mood today good old biscuit with apple butter and real butter love you look up your deep and thought there I'm actually looking at the snow outside it's um really pretty and you can see a little waterf out the windows yeah but um I always like to finish up my meal here at 5 Oaks Farm kitchen with a little bit of a biscuit and today I'm having apple butter get old apple butter they do it right for sure the rest of that is going home in the to go box that is yeah that's uh well the hubc is well yeah he did his best I did my best but and there's part of mine in there too yeah yeah part of Christie's in there as well so anyway but um yeah let me wash this down and then I'm going to get my final thoughts wash this down you do final thoughts thank you my dear I would like to know your final thoughts on Five Oaks Farm kitchen my final thoughts is that it is not going to be my final time yes and it is always a great breakfast it is definitely in our top three uh maybe eventually we'll get to the other two for breakfast but on this snowy beautiful day um I'm actually surprised how many people are here um the one thing I will tell you is when you saw us walk in there look like there was very few people get here when they open if you want to not wait especially on the weekends right um we have family that works here and sometimes the weights can be up there over an hour yes so we definitely suggest that you get here when they open if you want to come for breakfast because it is one of the best breakfasts in town I did enjoy my Co-op uh Skillet with all the veggies and the potatoes and cheese very good I would definitely get that again yes and um the cinnamon rolls are fabulous and we have some for tomorrow which tomorrow we're probably going to be really snowed in and not it's not be able to leave the house so that'll be a nice little snack but um I'm going to let Brooks tell tell you a little bit about what he thinks of Five Oaks and a little nugget of family history all right from the table at 5 Oaks Farm kitchen I would just like to say that that hubc cap is absolutely ridiculous look how much of that is going home it's just that's crazy but you know what for the price the portions are fantastic definitely share absolutely you could always come here and share that's not a problem uh the cinnamon roll you've got to make sure you get the cinnamon roll to share with the table when you come uh like I said it is wonderful uh now a little bit about Five Oaks Farm kitchen Christy said a little family history so Dr John Ole who started Five Oak Farm kitchen back in like 1925 his wife lanch was known for her Hospitality in the area yes so that's actually a third cousin third removed on his on my mama's side and so a little bit of family history it's kind of kind of you're related to everybody I swear you are literally related to everybody well I'm a mountain boy and that's how that goes Do's his fourth cousin yes so and his sixth great grandma is the lady who built the first cabin in gburg and someday we're going to share that with you got to share that with you so it literally sits right next to the parking garage at the city at the at at the top of Gatlinburg where you come in that big parking garage that little cabin that sits there was built by his sixth great grandmother and her her sons we love to do genealogy in this area because like I said seems like I know everybody around here and that's but that's neat related to everybody community community is so important so and like I said the food here fantastic everything here is wonderful the service is always spoton our server has been fantastic today kept that coffee hot keeping the coffee hot and the milk cold I had milk today that was different there we were out of tomato juice today which is one of the one of my favorite things here is that they have fresh juices but had of tomato juice today so milk does a body good got milk got milk milk does body good so did you drink all your milk I did I drank all the milk so well in closing we just want to say
