the effects that it has on everyone so again that's going to be uh this coming friday on zoom at seven o'clock from 7 40 from 7 00 to 7 45 also on august the 15th i think that is this saturday and also the following saturday after august 22nd again that's gonna be august the 15th as well as august 22nd we will be having uh backpack giveaways those backpack giveaways will be loaded with supplies the only catch is you have to come down to the to the church building to pick up those uh backpacks as well as the supplies so we have enough available for all of our use where each one will be given a backpack and supplies also we are encouraging all of our sisters to take the women's ministry virtual events survey that is a women's ministry virtual events survey and this survey is being conducted because it will help the women's ministry to serve one another in the most relevant way possible given the current events that is going on so we want to encourage all of our sisters to join in and take that survey help us out help us to bring you the things that you need the most lastly we would like to be mindful of all of those who have lost a loved one those who have lost loved ones as a result of this pandemic and also the ones that have lost loved ones as a result of other conditions we're mindful in church we got to stay prayerful and it's tough when you lose a loved one doing a pandemic like this where you can't even see them off to the end so we're praying for all those families that are that are struggling at this particular time and as a result of that we want to encourage all of you all that are in need of a special prayer for yourself or special prayer for someone else we encourage you all to join us daily on our prayer line we ask that you tune in on our prayer line at at 1 45 p.m for us to take in your special requests and for you to make your request known prior to us going before the throne of glory at 2 p.m so we're encouraging all of you all to plague that destroys at midday a thousand may fall at your side ten thousand at your right hand but it will not come near you you only observed with your eyes and see the punishment of the wicked if you say the lord is my refuge and you make the most high your dwelling no harm will overtake you no disaster will come near you for he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways they will lift you up in their hands so you will not strike your foot against the stone you will tread on the line and on the cobra you will trample the great lion and the serpent because he to die on you on the cross for sinners like us kind mouse we ask that you forgive us of our sins right now father help us to be all that you would have us to be lord and lord we come praying for all those that have been affected by the corona pandemic lord we know there are some laws that have lost family members lord we know there are some that lost their jobs and lord we know there are some now that are losing their homes oh yes kind master would you have mercy on them father god we pray now father that you would allow us not to lose our faith lord for your word tell us without faith it's impossible to please you lord so continue to bless us lord and keep us safe lord we pray for all those that are suffering with illnesses right now lord we come praying father that you would touch their bodies bring healing lord comfort and peace a lot of them continue to worship you in spirit and in truth despite all the issues that they may be going through and father god now we come praying for this worship service god bless you lord we pray that you will bless this wisdom sir that everything we do here will be pleasing and acceptable in your sight lord we come praying for your manservant who will shortly stand before us lord proclaim unto us break unto us the bread of life lord we come praying that you give him a ready recollection of those things that he studied that he may depart them unto us but the least of us will understand kindness we ask prayer for the leadership kind father be with them continue to allow the holy spirit to work through them lord so they can christ i'll be reading from first corinthians chapter verse chapter 17. i'm in chapter 11 starting at verse number 20. when you meet together you are not really interested in the lord's supper but some of you hurry to eat your own meal without sharing with others as a result some hungry while others get drunk well do you not have your own homes for eating and drinking or do you really want to disgrace god's church and shame the poor what am i supposed to say do you want me to praise you well i certainly will not praise you for this for i pass on to you what i received from the lord himself on the night when he was portrayed the lord jesus took some bread and gave thank thanks to god for it then he broke it in pieces and said this is my body which is given for you do this to remember me in the same way he took the cup of wine up the supper saying this cup is a new covenant between god and his people an agreement confirmed with my blood do this to remember me as often as you drink it for every time you eat this bread and drink this cup you are announcing the lord's death until he comes again so anyone who eats this bread or drinks this cup of the lord unworthily is guilty of sinning against the body and the blood of the lord that is why you should examine yourself before eating the bread and drinking the cup for if you eat the bread or drink the cup without honoring the body of christ you're eating and drinking god judgment upon yourself that is why many of you are weak and sick and some have even died but if we would examine ourselves we would not be judged by god in this way yet when we are judged by the lord we are being disciplined so that we will not be condemned along with the world let us pray heavenly father we just thank you we thank you and we understand that this is a routine that we do this heavenly father but we do this remember you each and every lord's day we just pray that we remember what it symbolizes with this bread representing your body and this cup representing your blood help us to take it with clean hearts and pure minds in jesus we pray amen we also commanded to give upon the first day of the week yeah and we would like to thank those who have been supporting the kingdom of god by by paypal and and sending their offerings on on sunday coming by to drop their offering on on saturday between 12 and 2. we definitely thank you for continuing to support what we're trying to do here at belford in in the kingdom of christ so we definitely want to keep those in mind and pray for those who gave a portion of their lay-by i'll be reading second corinthians chapter nine and i'll be starting at verse number ten but god is the one who provides the seed for the farmer and then bread to eat in the same way hebrew will provide and increase your resources and then produce a great harvest of generosity in you yes you will be enriched in every way so that you can always be generous and when we take the gifts of those who need them they would thank god so two things will happen with the result from this ministry of giving the needs of the believers in jerusalem will be met and they will joyfully express their thanks to god as a result of your ministry they will give glory to god for your generosity to them and to all believers who prove that you are obedient to the good news of christ and they will pray for you with deep affection because of the overflowing grace god has given to you thank god for this gift two wonderful words let us pray heavenly father we thank you for for everyone who decided in their hearts to give back a portion of what you've already blessed them with we thank you for all the different avenues you've allowed us to be able to to give back a portion heavily farther if it's will continue to flow and to go in the manner in which we are moving i want to tell you that i have mixed emotions this morning the lord called sister bailey home for today this morning sister bailey was an old saint many might not even know miss bailey but she was placed in hospice uh a few days ago and she slipped right on out and i understand that we're living in the land of the dying headed for the land of the living so i want to pay pray for the bailey family but i'm equally excited because brandon cook a young man that attends his church his mother called the office and let us know that brandon had had sieges and that he was in icu but the good news is brandon got an opportunity to come home on yesterday so we see god is working on both ends he but we appreciate brandon so much i want to take time and thank our praise team what an awesome praise i believe i believe that we have the best praise team in the world i mean because it's just a handful of us it's less than 10 of us in here and if you did not know you would believe that it was 500 people up here in this building and every one of them are given all that they have and for that we are certainly grateful thank kevin for what a beautiful prayer this morning he was praying like jesus christ was standing right next to him we appreciate him so much for his prayer but none of this would work as well as it do without our media team my god what a media team what a media team these guys work countless hours to make sure that all of these things are working and for that we are eternally grateful i heard this on the news and i got a long way to go but but but i want to i want to do this because i heard on the news that if we don't do something about this pandemic another 150 000 people will be dead by the end of the year another 150 000 people will be dead by the end of the year and they said 70 000 could be saved if we would merely just wear our masks wash our hands and do the things that we 70 000 souls could be said there are over 250 000 people in a small town at a motorcycle rally today and they and and they they are demanding that they are not going to wear mess i'm praying for our nation and our country that they would all that we could all get up on the same page and realize that god is trying to get our attention he'll get it one way or the other he'll get it while we live or he'll take you out of here and don't believe by any stretch of the imagination that you can't rush your death the bible says in ecclesiastes 9 and verses and 11 he said why die before your time so you can rush ben you're right and this and that and being all big headed about this thing and trying to support some some some party you better be wise enough to do what you need to do while you've got a chance ain't we just pray for all of those that are struggling with their health we pray for those families that are dealing with this pandemic we pray kind master for our researchers that somehow visa and johnson and johnson could come up with something that would eliminate this deadly virus oh god we pray now for preaching power i pray that you just and take my body and use every fiber that's in it take my mouth my tongue and let it be your words and things that come out of your heart use me like a sponge this morning to absolve all of the things that's going over and then lord help us to realize ain't no need to worry because all of this will be all over in the morning come on come on sing it with me come on come on come on come on be finding in your bibles the book of hebrews the chapter is number 11. we'll start the reading at verse 24 and a few of the following verse that's hebrews chapter number 11 verse 24 and a few of the following verses hebrews chapter number 11 verse 24 and a few of the following verses the bible says by faith moses when he had come to years refused to be called the son of pharaoh's daughter choosing rather to suffer the affliction with the people of god than to enjoy pleasure of sin for a season extreme in the reproach of christ great riches than the treasures of egypt for he had respect unto the reconciles of the reward god it's your time now feed us there's a word for all of us let us get our portion and we'll be very careful to give you praise honor and glory and all of god's children said amen you may be seated for the next few minutes i want to tag this sermon rebound simple rebound beloveds one of the most important things in the nba is to have a good center man a good man in the middle every team wants some good man in the middle because you made a commitment as a parent and missed the shot as a parent get the rebound and and get back in the game just because you've made a commitment and bad relationship and you missed the shot beloved i'm telling you get your rebound and start all over again oh i know i know you repented last week i know you had good intentions last week i know you left here with the right thing in mind but somewhere britney between last week and this week you missed the shot can i tell you today i want you to rebound and get back in the game the text that has been read in your hearing comes from the pen of a very unusual man a very a very a very normal individual his name is moses beloved he spent the first three months of his life hidden in a house i'm trying to tell you and then his mama took him and put him in a river in a basket with snakes and alligators and crocodiles to allow him to float down the nile river i'm telling you he was abandoned he was adopted he had a speech impediment beloved if anybody should have been dysfunctional it should have been moses but because moses rebounded and redirected his life look what happened he wrote the first five books of the bible he received the ten commandments from god he led the children of israel out of 400 years of slavery in egypt beloved this was a man that god used in an amazing way to do amazing things for god god is telling us each and every one of us that in this life we have some choices good god almighty i feel the preaching coming you better get this justin because in this life we have something you don't have to live your life defeated beloved you don't have to live your life with low self-esteem you and i can make can make our lives count by a lot by not allowing our past to dictate our future can i say that again we can make our lives count if we stop allowing the past to dictate our future i know you've made some mistakes i've made some mistakes you made some mistakes i know you've made some bad choices but we can turn this thing around and today would be a perfect day to turn it around listen to what the bible says in in deuteronomy chapter 30 and verse number 19 deuteronomy chapter 30 and the verse is number 19. the bible says in deuteronomy chapter 30 verse number 19 he says i call heaven and earth to record this day against you notice now he said shayla i sat before you life and y'all got to get this thing i sat before your life and death i set before you blessed and cursing therefore choose life that both die and thy seed may y'all better see it he says i've set before you he said he said i said it right here i said it before you it's set before you he said now i set before you life and death that spiritual andre and then he said blessing and cursing that's physical if i had time i'd go over deuteronomy chapter 28 but don't have time read it he said now here's what it is in front of you is setting both life and death he said blessings and cursing and dead and then he goes on to encourage us to choose life beloveds too many of us are just satisfied where we are in life and we say things like that's just how i am that's just my dna watch this i i i didn't ask to be abused as a child beloved and we make all kinds of excuses for our behavior god is saying i've set before you life and death oh i know you've been through some things but you've got a choice do you want to stay where you've been or do you want to change and redirect your life and go you have a choice he said i've sat before your life and death george i've sat before you blessings and cursing choose life can i tell you this i am defined by my vision my purpose and my goal can i say that again i am defined by my vision my purpose and my goal if i have no vision no purpose and no goal then my choice is death can i say that for a minute let me tell you something let me tell you it is my prayer it is my prayer roshika that you would choose life today and impact those that are around you impact your family impact your co-workers impact your community life is is is is impacting one another can i show you this text can we dig in this text i'm going i'm trying i'm trying to talk to one of my he said man you the lessons are good just cut them down a little bit i'm trying i'm trying lord forgive me because i watch this y'all watch this moses settled four key issues about life before he was able to rebound and here's why i want to work here's well here's where i want to work harvey jr moses settled four key issues about life before he was able to rebound can i tell you something can i tell you something martial zealous can i tell you something ray brown these are the same four issues that we have to settle in our life barack if we are going to rebound cedric you'll never rebound until you settle these four these four keys in your life are y'all ready for this key number one it is the issue of identity can i say it again it is the issue of identity who am i that's the you before you'll ever rebound you got to first determine who you are now watch this moses was born a hebrew slave now watch this he was raised as pharaoh's grandson in pharaoh's palace notice he had an identity crisis he was born a hebrew but yet he was raised in the palace beloved moses is going to have to identify who am i am i hebrew or am i an egyptian here's what i want you to see according to the decree in exodus chapter 1 verse 17 the midwives was instructed that every son every son that was born would be murdered every girl could live but every boy that was born had to be murdered now moses mother had a boy i wish i had time to talk about this girl but she had a boy now watch this with this boy for the first three months she hit him can you imagine she put him under the sink put blankets over when anybody would knock on her door she would hide her baby she would hide her baby she would hide her baby for three months and then when she couldn't hide him any longer she put him in a basket and sent him down the nile river beloved she did what she thought was best for her child can i park here for just a second are you doing what you think is best for your child beloved i just have to say this and i don't want to stay here see many of us are allowing our children to grow up entirely too fast too many women are trying to be their children's sister opposed to being their mama too many men are trying to be their son's friend it comes a time i'm telling you my baby is 30. it comes a time in your life when you can be their friend but when they're growing up and need that nourishing and need that instruction you need to be what god has called you to be moses mama did what she can do why she can do it and when she couldn't do no more she put him in a basket and sent him down the nile river now watch this pharaoh daughter was bathing in the river at the same time moses comes sailing down the river now this princess loved moses because god had put it in a heart no pharaoh's daughter would adopt a hebrew slave uh that that doesn't make any that that's just not normal she named him moses now don't don't miss this the word moses mean drone out she named him moses because she drawed him out of the night river but but but but but he was going to be drawn out that he might learn to draw others out good god almighty y'all better see this so moses moses now he is now living a life of luxury look look he came from living in the sink being hit here hid over there hid over here he came from that all the way to living in the palace wearing fine clothes living in fine houses living going to the finest of schools see we don't know what god is doing even in our life we don't know why we're going through what we're going through when we're going through it god has a plan for you but you got to get this moses is going to have to decide now am i going to be a jew or am i going to be an egyptian am i going to be a slave or am i going to be royalty am i going to be what i'm forced to be or am i going to be what god has made me to be beloved i wish you can see this question from you are you struggling with your identity can i say that again are you struggling with your identity who are you beloved are you a child of the king are you a child of the world you see you see you see you see you and i uh uh have been called to be holy good god man i want to stop right here so bad it's unreal let me just drop this in in first peter chapter chapter 1 verse 16 he says be ye holy for i am holy can i tell you what holy is not holy is not quoting a bunch of scriptures some of us think holy is the first john chapter 5 mark chapter 2 my that's not holy beloved holy is not running into a church building every time the doors are open that's not holy can i help you with something holy is not your right and everybody else is wrong that's not holy but holy living is denying oneself taking up the cross and following christ daily that's what holy is holy is denying elvis prince taking the crisis cross and following can i tell you something that gets hard sometimes that gets hard sometimes because let me tell you something you got to love people who don't love you being holy you have to you have to be nice to folk who talk about you being holy you have to go the extra mile when people have stabbed you in the back being holy is learning how to forgive well brother glenn you don't know what they've done to me it doesn't make a difference well i just can't do it like you're not holy because being holy is being able to put the past in the past and god knew that sometimes it would be very difficult that's why we have therapists that's why we have see see sometimes stuff has happened to you too deep that you can't get out of yourself but he's allowed people professionals to know what to say what to do but if you are content with staying in an unholy state oh god i wish i had 10 minutes because i'd give you a test on if you're really holy or not not if you come to church let me ask you this who in your life now that you know you need to forgive and you can't see i quiet you got right there see i cried you got well brother glenn you just don't know he touched me let me tell you something i've been reading this bible at this church for the last 29 years and i have not found one exception that we should not be able to forgive somebody as a matter of fact the bible says in luke 17 and 4 if a man sinned against you seven times seven in a day you forgive him let me tell you i can preach all the sermons i want but if i don't have a forgiving heart if i'm envy i'm jealous come on up in this place all man the bible calls us to be holy let me tell you something let me tell you many maybe maybe your divorce has caused you to lose your identity you used to be a hard-loving christian but he walked off she walked off and now you better maybe maybe maybe it's the pandemic that caused you to lose your identity you were doing good and all of a sudden now you're not working don't have a job don't know where your money's coming from and your neighbor who cares nothing about god look like his life is just going and as a result of that as a result of that this maybe your your former role model has caused you to lose your identity you know you can look up to people you can have a lot of respect for a person and you find out that that person is just as wicked it can knock you off your feet and causes you to lose your beloved i'm trying to tell you you just not the person you used to be if i'm talking to you that you're not the person you you put it in the chat box put your name in your city or your state i want to pray pray for you say i'm not what i used to be glenn i used to walk and live and walk for the lord but for some reason or another i need to rebound if i'm talking to you chatted and i promise you we'll pray for you you don't have to just say james houston we'll pray for you put it in the check box i want i want to talk to you i want to pray for you because because god can you can rebound and get back in the game beloved i'm here to tell you you are struggling with the absence of what brought you this far you are struggling with the pursuit of what made the way out of no way you are struggling with the fear of who is in control i stopped by to tell you no man can serve two masters for your loved one and hate the other you're going to have to make up your mind you're going to have to rebound and get back in the game you are struggling with your identity beloveds if moses would have said i'm pharaoh's grandson he would have had fame fortune and luxury or if he had chose to say i'm a jewish slave he would have to be rejected despised thrown out humiliated and will live a life of a slavery the rest of his life moses made the right choice go to the text y'all it's in the text i want you to keep our text uh hebrews 11 we're going to look at uh uh exodus chapter two and maybe we'll touch acts chapter seven but look look look hebrews 11 verse number 24 hebrews 11 verse number 24 hebrews chapter number 11 verse number 24 he said by faith faith is trusting god when you can't trace him faith is forsaken or f forsake a for or alpha i t for trust and h for him put it together faith is forsaken all i trust him so the bible says watch this now by faith moses when he has grown up oh good god almighty refused underscore the word refused he said now moses when he had grown up refused to be known as the son of pharaoh's daughter good god almighty moses is saying all that glitter ain't gold can you all you're saying this beloved moses is saying see the word refuse refute i love that word it's it's a a negative particle it means to close the door get this it means it's subtle it's sad he insists that he was going to do what god called him to do no no no pressure no no no fame no fine chariot was going to cause him to live anywhere different beloved he did not have bible says moses was taught all the wisdom of the egyptians and he became mighty in both speech and action you got to get this not now it does not mean that he had just book since although he was he was very well educated but but but but but but but it means that he was carefully trained and educated in wisdom so in verse 23 the bible says one day when he was 40 years old he decided to visit his we need to see if i'm going to rebound i have to make some priorities what really matters what's the most important thing in my life go back to hebrews 11 back in the text hebrews chapter 11 verse 26 if i'm going to rebound i need to settle the issue of what's most important beloved in verse 26 of hebrews chapter 11. he said esteeming the reproach of christ greater riches than the treasure in egypt he said for he had respect unto the recompense of reward he says he said he said his here's what i did here's what i did he said i took christ's life and i put it on this side of the scale i took the life i had in egypt and i put it on this side of the scale and i began to to weigh that thing out i i began to try to see which one he says now my reward as an egyptian paid good now but there's a reward that i receive later on that's in christ that's much greater than the reward i can receive now beloved i like the way the message says it the message says in verse 26 he valued suffering in the messiah's camp far greater than the egyptians wealth because he was looking ahead expecting a payoff see moses had that expecting faith a faith that is looking and waiting for a reward moses believed in the promises of god and it was important it was an important thing to hear man it was more important than pain it was more important than glitter look what he says in verse 15 go back to chapter two chapter two of exodus in chapter two of exodus he said but moses flee from the face of pharaoh he said i'm getting out of here man i know what you offered me but it's not worth it he flee from pharaoh you know that's that's just like that's just like and and this is why it was so hard in the white house many of those people cannot flee from the presence of donald trump you but i can't come before i did i said mom are you sure let me go watch this but we need to sit down and evaluate things a lot of us uh uh have christian lives today and we know the lord but we bought into the world system beloved uh things that that that that that can build our lives that's what we need to look at things that are important to us why the fact is that if we don't decide what's important to us the world will decide for us what's important to us get this y'all and i'm through uh the world system is this power and prestige i want to be famous pleasure i want to feel good i want to be happy i want to have fun and possessions i want to have a fortune i want i want to be wealthy moses had all three of them he had power he had pleasure and he had possessions and moses gave him up but moses knew what would it profit a man if he's to gain the whole world and then lose his soul what shall i give in exchange for my soul can i ask you what have you given in exchange for your soul then the last thing i want you to see as i close this is the issue of difficulties how much am i willing to commit to what i'm going to give for my life in in verse 27 of the text hebrews 11 27 by faith he forsook egypt not fearing the wrath of the king for he endured and seeing him who is invisible you see you must stay focused on god and his purpose for your life if you're going to rebound you're going to have to be persistent i don't mean no harm we start too many things on monday monday a.m and by monday p.m we've let them go i want to tell you this i want to tell you this i want to tell you this from the time god gave moses division the dream to set 400 people free from slavery 400 it and then lead them to the promised land it took them 20 years it took them 80 years here's what i want to ask you could you have waited that long of what you have given up if god if god had told you something was going to happen and it took 80 years would you stay focused he spent 40 years in midian just waiting on god just waiting on 40 years on the backside of about 40 years taking care of his father-in-law's sheep beloved beloved do you ever get tired of waiting on god watch this do you kind master will you allow them to rebound and get back in the spiritual walk with god will you elevate them and bring them up let them know that you love them let them know that if you can use moses you can certainly use every one of us and then lord allow my own life to rebound that i might be stronger closer walk daily with you forgive me of anything that's not pleasing to you and then lord take me mow me make me shake me into the preacher you want me to be not the one i want to be oh god touch every person in the sound under the sound of my voice everyone that's in the chat will you
