[Music] hello everybody and welcome to my channel so today i'm going to share with you guys how to jewel a acrylic cup now i really enjoy the stainless steel so this is going to be actually my first time um doing a acrylic cup um some people like it some people don't i like the stainless steel especially the double walled ones um because then when it sweats you don't have to worry about it um some people do like the acrylics but one thing i do recommend if you guys are going to do the acrylic you want to do one that's like a double walled um basically what double walled mean is there's like a little cup inside this so when the cup actually sweats or anything like that you guys don't have to worry about like all the condensation on here but i will be doing another cup with um like one of the starbucks cups is what i'm going to be doing too so you guys will definitely want to stay tuned for that but we're gonna today we're going to jewel this cup now they uh this website that i got it was the stainless steel depot i think is what it was this was like maybe four dollars or something like that um one thing is uh they can come in different colors but i got clear because i was unsure what i wanted to do so today what we're gonna do is um jewel this and i'll show you guys what to do now if you get one of the ones that are tinted you don't need to stainless steel this or you don't need to spray paint this or paint it however you want but we're going to try something new that i've never done before so here we got a 16 ounce acrylic skinny tumbler is what it is and it's double walled i also have some shimmer spray paint now it depends on what you guys want to do i'm going to do shimmer because i plan on doing this color in the back so i think this would be kind of cool the way it's gonna stick out so i'm gonna show you guys that in a little bit you also need sandpaper you want to actually sand the acrylic first before you paint it um just to get it kind of just roughed up because then it makes the stones stick a little bit better so you guys will need stain sandpaper now there's two different kind of glues there's also another glue i can't think of the name all of a sudden but there is a liquid fusion and there's gem tac i have used liquid fusion on about four other cups i really like it i've been using it like crazy i still have like a half a bottle left just from using four cups um but this is super awesome it is also non-toxic this stuff is the gem tag i think this dries clear um yes as it dries crystal clear it binds to rhinestones crystal sequence more to fabrics and then i think you can also clip it to plastic yeah so we're gonna actually use the gem tack today because this is something that i haven't used i'm very familiar with the fuse the liquid fusion so there's that now one thing is um with the liquid fusion the hole is a little bit bigger um i think you got to pop it up the hole's a little bit bigger when i do spread the glue around so i feel like the glue i don't want that much you don't want that much now this the holes a little bit little which you guys could leave it that way or you can actually just get a little bottle this is the liquid fusion in this little bottle i bought this on amazon it was like a ten pack i think i paid like eight dollars for it i will be putting uh links below for everything that i do use so you guys can check this stuff out also but i prefer using this little little bottle because you got a little tiny little tip um that you guys can use and it's just less glue that you need because you don't want a lot of glue because you don't want to see all that stuff so this is the bottle that i use for the glue the stones that i will be using is the um ss20 which is five millimeters and the ss16 which is four millimeters um this is the foil siam ab glass rhinestones i got these from the be createful website and i will have a link below also where you guys can get 10 off if you guys want to try something like okay so my camera died sorry but uh yes we'll be using this ones that i prefer the most are the um the ss20s because you don't have you don't you can use a whole lot more or less than the ones with these but it all per all is preference now there's two different ways to do the jewels you guys can do the honeycomb effect which is gonna look like this so it's just basically like a honeycomb otherwise there is a scattered which i have not done yet but i will be working on a scattered project next so you guys will want to definitely check that out but one thing i do usually it all depends on preference on what you guys need but i usually have been using about two bags of the ss20 and then i have one bag of the ss16s just in case i need fillers because there are times where something might not line up with each other so you might just need a filler you can't tell at all i've done a couple cups and you cannot even tell i've done fillers because it just blends in so well so just depends on what you guys want to use so i actually have one of these bags opened um so that's another thing that if you guys want to get for jewels one thing i do recommend are these little plates now i will have um i when i first started i just used like a plastic tupperware that you guys can use um these are a little plate that have these little lines so then when you put the jewels on them they're a little bit easier to shake so i put my jewels on there and see how some of them are upside down you can just shake it and then they're easier to grab at so that's what i do i just put a ton of them on here and then when i'm not working on the project anymore i want to put things away i like this little spout because then you can just pour it right out it's pretty easy to do that um so and then whatever sizes or whatever time how many beads or glass stones you're going to use you can definitely do that so this is one thing that i actually like a lot better than just using the stones now this is a wax pencil or a pen that you use one side is wax and the other one has like a little metal thing i actually took the metal thing out because i don't use it as much um but basically i just kind of use my fingers but if you need to like move a stone around they usually say to use that i just use my finger so that's what i use now this is a little bit pricey um i ended up using a 40 off coupon at hobby lobby for this i know michael sells this so in the next time i want to get one of these pencils or pens or whatever i'm gonna probably get one at michael's with a 50 or 60 off coupon you can also get this on amazon i will have it the link below but amazon it's a little bit pricey but i will also have some other another kind that you guys can use and also the be createful does have these pens uh similar to this also but all it is is just a wax it helps you pick up the uh the jewels so super super easy and then i kind of just twist a little bit and they will go up dull after a while so that is that so the first thing i'm going to do is start sanding the cup and then we're going to spray paint it next [Music] so after you guys stain or after you guys sand the acrylic you actually want to take some rubbing alcohol and just clean it up is the best you guys can do so just take your rubbing alcohol and just wipe it all around and clean it the acrylic doesn't get as bad as the um the stainless steel does so then you're going to let that dry and then we're going to start spray painting okay you guys so i'm outside i got my spray paint ready to go i got it all shook up like i said i'm using a shimmer metallic i've never used this before but it's perfect for what i want to use i ended up getting like this little football thing from the dollar tree and just cut the wings off and i'm just gonna it's just easier for me to spray paint so this is what i'm gonna do to spray paint it and then i just kind of squeeze it in because then i won't get any spray paint on the inside and then i took some tape and i just taped around the spot where um you screw it on i just don't want to get a tape on it so i gotta figure out how i'm gonna spray paint this i might just lay it down i don't know but i'll figure that out so we're gonna just take some spray paint and see how well this does okay you guys so i let this dry for at least you know a couple days um so i'm just gonna take the paint off or the tape off and then um make sure none of the paint got on this which it did not which is awesome i didn't do a very good job spray painting i should have actually sprayed it before or sprayed it before i sprayed the thing but you know what that's okay this actually is a really pretty color so what you're gonna do is i always start lately i kind of start from the bottom um because i've learned that i can get a straight line better and then as i get to the top i will start from the top and then kind of meet so that's what i do today i'm using the gem tac i've used this on one other cup i do like this because you don't use as much if you guys can see you don't need to use as much um and once the gem is on there it's like on there i've learned um i know with the liquid fusion it kind of moves around plus this is kind of like kind of feels like sandpaper so you're just gonna take it and i like to do the whole way around before i stop because then i can kind of keep a straight line um and then when i start stacking them on top of each other i find it just a little bit easier when i have not as much glue on the edge i know you guys can't see when i don't have as much glue on the edge um i kind of just take it from the middle and then just kind of swipe it but you want to make sure you don't get a lot of because you might see that it does dry clear but you just want to make sure you don't see that big so the liquid fusion you can do that and it will completely be fine but this stuff's just a little bit different so i'm just going to kind of just do the honeycomb is what this is called basically you just kind of do um just have them fit in the cracks of each other like that now it's really hard to make this look pretty because it's with the white glue so i'm just gonna go all the way around and then let this dry doesn't have to be completely dry but just let it dry and then i will show you guys what it'll look like when it's somewhat dry [Music] okay you guys so i actually just kind of did a couple layers um so what i just what i do like about the gem tack is it actually hardly moves at all um what i ended up doing is i just kind of did a line i thought i kind of do a little bit but i found out if i just did one line at a time it was a little bit easier i did have to use some i forgot to mention i am using the ss20s for this i prefer ss20s but i did have to use some ss16s to fill in a gap you guys really can't see it but there is like a little bit of an ss16 in every single row i kind of don't have it in a straight line so you don't want to notice it but that's just pretty much what you do i do notice since i did spray paint this it's not so smooth so it is a little bit harder for the jewels to slide side to side but i'm really liking it the gem tank actually sticks right on and as you can see it dries pretty pretty clear i mean you can see some of the globs that i did do but you know it still takes a lot of practice and it's pretty easy i actually have a jewel that is broken that i did not notice but can't take it off now unless i soak it in acetone but i mean it's pretty it's pretty easy to do so i'm going to continue going all the way until i get almost to the top i'll probably stop about right here and then i'm going to start from the bottom and then i will show you guys that because sometimes you're going to have a little bit of a gap so you want to make sure you kind of spread these out and then i'll show you what it's going to look like with the cover on um one thing i do like about this cover is it or this bottle it does say it's a hand wash only so you should hand wash these anyways but that's one thing i absolutely like so now let's some jewel some more okay you guys so i have finished the whole entire cup um i try to keep a straight line as best as i can but there's some times where it just like moves around on me but i feel like you can't tell any of the flaws there might be like one or two flaws in there there it most of these are ss20s um there might be a there actually is like maybe a couple of the ss16s i don't know how it got all messed up so now i'm starting to work on the cover so i basically just started one line i wanted it to make sure i had to do it so it dried so i'm going to finish this and then we're actually going to jewel inside here now you could leave it optional however you guys want to do it um this is my first acrylic cup so we're going to actually do it but uh you guys can kind of see i don't know it's kind of hard but like it's pretty cool i really like it this turned out super pretty i can't wait to put it out in the sunlight but let's get this cover done okay guys so i finished the outside and now i'm gonna do this inside lip right here so what i'm gonna do since it's a little bit more difficult to do than the normal stuff is i'm just gonna stack them on top of each other so right here i got the first layer i have the glue all the way to the top because i don't think we can get it perfect but you know what i want it to look somewhat jeweled i might only do three instead of the four but let's see how it's gonna look yeah i'm definitely gonna just do three layers the outside layer i did four but the inside layer i only need to do three which is perfect so we're gonna continue going all the way around and then you can just press down right on it so if you guys can kind of see it's like right there um i'm just gonna kind of spread this apart i'm gonna do the whole inside and then i'm gonna work on this and i will show you guys the finished piece but i am pretty excited to finish this cup okay you guys i wanted to show you the cup what it looks like in the sunlight i absolutely love this this would be so pretty to use all summer and winter but yeah i really like it i'm glad i had the perfect color to match it but yeah so if you guys enjoyed this video please let me know by giving this video a thumbs up i will be making a ton more videos some a little bit faster um but i will have all the links below that you guys can get the materials that i used and you can also get 10 off of the website where i got the jewels from but i absolutely love this thank you guys for watching and i'll see you guys later bye [Music] [Applause] you
