hey folks how y'all doing today it's JP he and River Ridge Louisiana and I got a jungle behind me that's what we got a little bit of a jungle going on guess what we got today folks bees in a trash can yet another trash can that's got to be - I don't know what's in the garbage can there's some stuff in it it's a plastic garbage can it's cracked and so we're not gonna know need to salvage of the garbage can well let me show you what we need to do to get to it we're gonna try go to the the path of least resistance here I'm gonna have to move some stuff okay let me show you so there's the garbage cans don't you see it through this we're not gonna go this route although if this trellis wasn't here I'd have a nice little spot right here to set up so we're gonna go actually this route all right look just to show you all the equipment that I use in some of my camera stuff to bring you these videos folks because I appreciate you we're here there's our garbage can all right I don't know how big the colony is but these on top here just chillin see them there they old folks there's Arby's check them out in there in that cool huh we're gonna go ahead and try to pick up the lid normally what they do I need anything with a lid they gonna have a hive attached to the on the side of the lid it's usually how it works like I said I don't know what kind of stuffs in there but there is some stuff in there and we have a mission to do some trimming so we can get it done folks this is Deanna really yeah really really is hello hello how are you got the Java is a really nice lady and she actually takes care of the people who live here they've kind of gotten up to the age and they need help so uh I'm here to help them with the bees and she helped get on with life and things like that so really nice lady appreciate what you do with these folks and we're gonna have fun today with the bees and let's see if we can get a little honey for you to try maybe a little something we're gonna try it it's good to see you glad you're with this bees in the trashcan folks bees and the trash can Venus in the trash can worth the middle well in the wintertime you know they're not as active so they can live a little longer but they're normally you know when they're really busy don't normally they just wear out that's why they live about six weeks sorry saying busy is a beep is he as a beep oh yes they are you know come daylight first light they get active and they're active all the way to the dark now what you see it on the outside coming they going believe it or not that only makes up one or two percent of the population that's in that colony the majority to be state in the doctor hi well this depending on the age bracket they take on a different role so the older B's will end up becoming guard these and those protect but yeah it's apparent constructions I can only tell people yeah you got this site you know and all the people are working in the people come in to bring the supplies that would be able to work things so anyway so we're at this point where we're gonna go ahead and take the garbage the lid of the garbage can and we're gonna go ahead and convert it we're gonna be looking at this thing for the first time then you know give us an idea of our numbers and if there's a usable call if there's any honey if there's a queen all this for the first time bringing it to you right now so uh we didn't the women we recorded sound effects talk to you funky ah honey goods it's still pretty well got a pretty neat this seat seal on it they have to get in here all right looks like this thing Michael uses a comp compost maybe at some point it is a lot of leaves and stuff a little riled up they're not attacking they really would just show me a little bit of their displeasure [Music] Oh whatever's all I've been there so Seymour we got to go check on you huh people have to this exposed when you come back he might be able to see all of its strength garbage cans definitely got some weight to it most of its junk and probably water water weight try to do this of course without cutting myself give us another little window into the world all right so here we go let's see coughs I just said we're going to go ahead and we're going to grab this we got handles I'm gonna pick it up and then I'm try to invert it right in front of the newt box and see if we can't get them to go into our setup all right that's the plan here we go yeah that hole you smoking free good okay got a little weight to it let's take a picture that all right let's go ahead and any of our ditch day [Music] they're fairly calm they calm I'm calm check it out folks will be able to frame up some of that yeah so they're open clean self so that's the rabbit queen yeah resident right there there's an open queen so another one here so they made a new clean or they swarm your something all right we need to pick this up so people can see it better just send little work so we got a high box here because that's where the home base was so we'll transfer what we can into our setup and then inevitably the bees well this is just making it a lot easier on them the bees they're wound up in this box tonight you know yes it can vary sometimes but you know as opposed to say putting this over here or somewhere else in the yard you don't want to do that you want to you want you your high box catch box whatever you want to call it it's close to where the actual hog was okay and when they reactance into smoke see I've been smoking this side and they've been running over that one do you have any idea when they notice these bees you don't have been in longer than three weeks right and a little skewer skew minutes you would I exposed we've got all these cells ever opened so the need look like swarm cells the mail it's a ton of them so uh anyway we're gonna start detaching this this cone and stuff frame that some of this up see they're pooling up over here because of the smoke smoke this area right here I've had them that's why they run it over that's a beautiful day there though let's get on with it down this way but I don't want to come back down it I think that's what happened I think they swarmed and then they they got back going again I do see cat brood but seeing a lot of a lot of open Queen cells beam selves or fear they look like peanuts should come off with one piece there now this this head honey in it at one time these are large cells and this head honey and it's getting later on the season so these are starting to get a little brittle watch this you do that get the kind of brittle I got a little with the goldenrod just down that's rich in balloonman it's probably done for this area though let's see where to spin this it's trying to get to the point where I can have access to these tomes and detach them from the lid and once I have in the wind and do that like I said it should be able to boom boom boom go on with it should be able to come in here like this and detached that used to be I was all honey if I had a guess that said he swarmed in the last month or so oh yeah and we remember that that was like a couple weeks ago yeah for you boy yeah our evidence recently see the Queen cells and also they eat up a lot of and see when they swarm they take honey with them to go to the new spot they do they make collective decisions all right I might be able to frame this stuff that was on the energy don't do that later in the season and they could actually use that the next piece we won't be then we'll let you try some of the honey from the next one Hanna how much money can this size colony produced as long as you have a nectar source you know they can the memories we keep making honey the weather's going to be right and all that stuff there's in fact there's that have a bearing on whether that the flaw was producing and there's got to be enough rain so in situations the way you have droughts they can't obviously make as much because I've seen when the flower was warming but you haven't didn't get rain so the flowers didn't produce nectar I haven't had golden rye honey in four years that's one of my favorite honeys well you know we haven't had sufficient rain really I'm gonna be making a video Kb talk to you later this is a bigger piece I'm gonna take out this honey's probably starting to granulate a little bit because it's going in the season we'll be able to try something this 'dearest a second and I'm gonna tell you to take your finger and push it through the honey comb all right actually you get the honey on your fingers and then you can go ahead and enjoy I'll be ready and I'll shake the beads off am I going to be that lands on it there's nothing on this side and all that I'm gonna put your hands like this okay pull your sleeves up cause that's going to get on your material do you think the bees out yeah but I mean is there's no novice huh just open your hands on both hands no there's no bees right here he's right there all right both hands like that in Stella Stella we got what you think of that it's really heavy I can't believe it terrified of deep thought yeah a lot of these are not what you sitting there look thank you finger can you do that put your finger down or one of them okay push it down in there cried twelve pounds to a gallon look at me let me see you react what do you think it's okay look at me I want it's really like that and power one come on bring in that sure I want to see yeah this wall could shake the comb and they'll tell they'll go off you could shake them off just go vanilla just go over there and you shake the cone just walk away I'm here to help you do all right shake the Kumu come off it off yet shake the comb side to side they are you can gently push him with your finger you want to try that that's what I do you can also come back here I'll get it all for you if you want you good yeah came up Oh and good once we give them some of their brood comb in the box there they should start going over to our box right I see some decent food coming up something that's honeycomb out of the way first you need a lid though cuz they if you don't have a lid they're gonna start covering it yeah take it for now but I got more often give you but definitely get the lid to that part okay pretty keep some room cold we're gonna frame buffer it now okay a balloon it blew closer to something these are developing bees here takes about three weeks for the worker bees to hatch out delicious they tried it oh my goodness yeah they liking it yeah I'm thinking about what I like spin on toast with a little butter biscuits thinking about bananas be the bed of banana and honey sandwich [ __ ] and beat this cow away peanut butter banana and honey sing peanut butter for that I don't know there's the main port a little joke they tell all Tom somebody said stop telling that you see pollen has a lot of vitamins and stuff in it yeah a lot of B vitamins help thank you God that we B vitamins you got that B vitamin Eva you got it somebody stop - no I will never stop telling that you as corny as it is really so when you move the power me over do you ever have to leave anything behind I'll be I'll be moving this at night them all the bees should be in here there's any bees like tomorrow or the next day really will be going on there too I must say not as bad as I thought there you go see how this time huh I just wanna be but well everything makes a noise virus mosquitoes the rule right off of their sort it got another beautiful piece of mail Buffon coming up right here folks beautiful things good job that delay in a pretty decent manner one frame the brood and they're in one honey cream okay and clean it for everybody chose in Queen go to Queen not yet after this is for the Queen she can't get out out of that that's why we put her in case she decided to fly off or something see then at the new location if the bees decide they want to fly off they got to come back but she's cage I usually leave her cage for about three days and then I'll release it chavita but this piece a little bit more thing so that eggs on Sabbath Ryan had lunch at you delicious these are the male honeybees they don't have a stinger OH for this area they try to do a little robbing okay yeah it's the time of year where there's not a lot of flowers producing nectar so they you you may see them trying to get back some of this honey sometimes you'll have a colony from the area that'll show up trying to get some of their honey and it could turn a little chaotic when it's like these everywhere you know what's robbing when they get when they start fighting with each other looks like championship wrestling that's that's who we are this Robin you'll see them kind of like rolling around trying to sting each other usually a sign we've got Robin going on right now well I'll call aggressive when they sting in you we're not staying okay what'd they do oh yeah my singing so here's another drone when he's jet-black he does have a finger no it'll have a thing I'm telling you I promise you oh you can't you gotta be quick a minute what so the needle smoke breath they'll get 90 you asked me about what was eat them or just it could be rats it could be squirrels I think all birds but I think it's a rodent I'll tell you what you try now right before dark they'll show up they creatures a habit that have been feeding lately you might see him running across the fence they might be living on leave then all that guilt right there you do see you ones the last time you saw one every night woman OH Esposito I don't think Sharon don't eat anything they can to survive you know McDonald's out here correct right no McDonald's rats scared to say it enemies another from the sign that they swarmed as of the drone population is up okay that's another indicator when he was saying it 40 trillion I never really lived in these cells yet plates let's see if there's any eggs I'm thinking it I think they swollen again slaying me willing to bet that there won't we all take a thief just a second okay see if we got a lane clean right tiny grains of rice but use all offerings today folks a really good film section it's begging to be framed up so you might be asking yourself well you know a lot of times you put these beads these six frame and I get comments saying oh you know well if I need to I'll go grab another box and bring it back up they had to do that before but you'd be surprised how many bees can fit in a box like this okay and all these will certainly fit here this is not a big big hog big numbers anything like that you'd be surprised folks what could fit in a nucleus of like I said if I needed to I could run off and I'll come back for another box stack-on time to give more room to go into setup the Queen nice little bunch of beads I didn't want to just shake them right into my setup because if you know the Queen was in that bunch and I shake them in then I'll get to see it right then I'll have to look through the frames later find it that's why I did that and these sheets of foundation look great for that all right let's get this next peace out I betcha this queen is gonna be a beauty okay because uh we know they swarmed in our newly made it Queens a lot of times you know there have the big beautiful swollen up abdomens it's like a girl with a big button check the backside make sure the body squished the middle it's a beautiful day in the neighborhood is being you too full day in the neighborhood would you be my Bahama all ornaments got me singing mr. Rogers now come on you know a bit Obata was Gianna was here and was drones buzzing around the drones a lot of time they sell like a little airplane why bother the workers in fact at this stage in the game I can tell wanted to be flying around my ear or something put your own or work like I said the drones a lot louder got more that buzz all right we got like one more frame brewed I think we'll frame up and it should be and then where these outlets if we can't find our queen and get this show on the road this will be a perfect frame to finish up with the physic home section grounded because it is a it's got fruit and it's got honey and you know they normally like the hunted to be on the outside anyway don't on the outside last when we frame up like the last one would breed anyway pretty good job in this voltage pan five musical home sections four of them the brood on it wait to it frames remove all of them and use a foundation to shake them or to so long albums form in advance [ __ ] time for the Eagle eyeglasses folks macho sorry are the patience I was right privilege like this fidgety gal don't fidget alright let's go ahead put on queen man just like that you disappeared uh uh we don't know you who who you who is that we don't know who you are you just see this lift out they were so disappointing and we're looking for you you want to see the Queen come up come on over here and see the Queen remember if I thought you you endangered just come on over here she's coming come on don't swat at him she's that bigger one do you see her you gotta come a little closer see I bagged it see how back inside well still get the devil without taking yeah I like I like the cold but we need to go ahead and put her on one of the frames then we'll put the lid on and we'll shake these out and just about we'll do a little cleanup and stuff and we're just about done and the process is pretty much you know what you put her right in yeah she does put out your hair can you well I mean I got video of it and stuff like a chill okay just on the coupler Thanks they might get in the house say you wouldn't thank you you feeling brain you feel like you got to grab it just like that don't open this thing up huh if she flies out I might be disappointed just grab that like that no leave them right on there we want them on it no you can't they gonna have to come out to look at you can't even go to the door with it if you want I'll show him a little video with a well you know I'm making the video too you know we doin a YouTube video you know that you know when you're doing a YouTube video normally here I don't I've put a little more in there we could pick through when we got in there we put them at the bottom but others put her to County I can't tell you're gonna have to watch the video you see how you when you slip on Maidan you'll lose important information information you lose your spot you can just walk like that right you know no but you see how I'm doing right now but I got my my head tilted and that B would have been right there and when I went like that she would have stung me you know you call that a accidentals thing well you gotta have flowers you know when it was in flower they probably got a little bit but you know citrus the flower was small and so you got to have a lot of citrus for them to get anything from it okay so yeah so that's how that is but I didn't really taste any [ __ ] Vista I mean you got one trick I mean you'd have to have a bunch of them for them to have which kind of orange blossom all right folks so we get down to the nitty gritty we're going to have to shake these bees I think I'll just shake them right on top of the box and we'll let them sort it out we'll get that comb out of there and do a little cleanup cuz they are all kind of all over the place we don't have like any severe robbing going on or anything like that but if we waited too long it could get to that point I think so uh let's let you do that could just be off my neck hello little young wood right alright folks I hope y'all enjoy this video bees in the trash can now they did a beautiful job with a head the room that they hadn't worked in file frames mostly broods some honey so uh see they're going on the entrance now and we'll let them get reorganized I don't know it's it's kind of a dreary overcast day so what's in the time is it all right so it's probably a good three hours before dawn so they have a good three hours to reorganize and I'll come back after dark and take them away so hope you all enjoy this video another one from JP the bee man hope y'all having a fantastic day because well you know I am to the next one I'll take care
