Become a Cyber Defender with HackTheBox CDSA

it finally happened hack the Box just created their cdsa certification and I could not be more excited about it this one's been in the making for a long time folks and in this video I'm going to go over everything that you need to know about it let's [Music] go welcome to cyber studies this is a pretty comprehensive video so follow off the chapters down below and hop around if you need to the cdsa is designed to be this pretty comprehensive exam with 15 modules and six domains covering any entry to intermediate level cyber security role in The Blue Team sector while hack the box says it's going to take you 23 days it's completely self-paced you can finish it as fast as you want the sack Analyst job rule prepares you to do this like deep dive on security monitoring specialized tools defense tactics and more It prepares you for real world security functions from traffic analysis to digital forensics and Reporting it's like a One-Stop shop for defensive security one thing I really like about the hack the Box environment is it allows allows you to VPN with your own machine and use real world tools now they do offer a service known as their pone box where you can spin it up in a web browser and allows you to take advantage of a Cali or parrot OS VM without any installation or configuration as for the exam material itself I find that it actually resembles the CompTIA cysa and that's a massive compliment both of those certifications as opposed to things like C or Security Plus uh this is way way more Analytical in nature and less of the the theory of operation you're actually getting into the nitty-gritty and getting your hands on things like elastic or wire shark now the the the time to value proposition just can't be beat but at the very end of these you also get these little certificate of completions that if you wanted to you can upload them to like LinkedIn or Facebook if you're into that kind of a thing now speaking of value the certification exam itself is $210 USD and that's for two exam attempts which is m blowing I think that's a crazy value for the certification compared to other things out there it really can't be beat now one thing to mention is that that does not include the training and unfortunately the training is required in order for you to sit for this exam now he the Box does have a couple different ways you can go about getting these training modules but the the more popular way is using these built-in cubes is like their in-house currency and it's about they estimate 1,220 of these cubes now if you were to do that individually it does come out to be a little bit over $125 USD um but the cheat code here is if you have a edu email you can sign up for their student account it allows you access to their tier Z through two which is everything in the the sht itself and also access to that pone box I had mentioned earlier so you could potentially take this entire certification and the training course for about $220 or a little less and to me that is insane like the the the the value there and that's not even including all the other tier 2 trainings that you get access to if you wanted to deviate and go into like the red team or somewhere like the generalized Concepts you have access to that as well with that student discount now it all can't be sunshine and rainbows here and I'm going to level with you when it comes to getting the job I don't necessarily think this is going to have the weight that it deserves because it is 2 days old now hack the box has been around since 2007 and they are a household name training is very good it's very applicable uh to what's going on in the space it is very Hands-On and and people know this I guess they have high confidence that if an applicant came to us for a interview and had that on their resume I'd be very interested in in talking to them because this is something that that's very much like a Hands-On course if it isn't obvious at this point I think the cdsa is a win in my book I love that the training and the certification are extremely affordable I think that the uh the the fact that it's hack the box is it's like a crowd favorite we love hack the box is is a is a win in itself I love that you know it is an exam that you take as opposed to a course you complete and here's a certificate kind of a thing um I love the product all in all uh I have not taken it myself however I do intend to do so very soon and I hope to hear from hack the Box because I I particularly like their stuff and I'd love to work with them in the future and if you enjoyed this video you may also like this playlist right here where I go over cyber security certifications in the industry thank you very much and have a good one
