foreign [Applause] [Music] hi thanks for watching my video today this is gonna be the third video in a series um on how I get these characters into uh BeamNG um I did the character in video one and then I did the Spider-Man video too which is right here and then this one is going to be how I get the BeamNG dummy these dummies right here into bmmg as an animated dummy and it's uh it could be a little tricky it's not an exact science a little bit of trial and error so the first thing I want to show you is we're going to go into bmmg okay so here we are inside Derby Arena and this is the dummy the BeamNG dummy that everybody's familiar with and this is what we're going to be using to animate but there's a problem with the dummy if you look closely at his hands right there this space right here that space creates a problem and miximo it doesn't recognize it as one piece and it'll give you an error and it will say please attach all body parts and it won't it won't process it and if it does the hand comes out all deformed and messed up so anyways it doesn't work so here's the way you can get around that um we're going to go into blender get rid of the cube and go to import import Dae and I believe it's in my downloads dummy Dae and it's titled man m-a-n we're going to import that now this particular dummy here if you look closely you can see the hand and the arm is attached sorry I have a cough getting over a cold I did not create this my friend um Terry Martin did this for me in blender um so that's the dummy that we're going to use it gets rid of that Gap but what you have to do is go to file and we're going to export this as a Dae I'm sorry export as an fbx yeah fbx and let's go to our downloads folder we're going to create a new folder we'll title it dummy fbx so that's our new folder and we'll open that up and we're going to title this the same as the the Dae which is man but we're going to make this fbx and here's the key over here in path mode from Auto has to be on copy and this little folder thing right here click on that whatever two little files pop up and just check everything so we're going dummy fbx we created the folder it's titled demand okay everything's good and now let's export that so now let's go to mix remote there we go so now we're going to go to upload character and we're going to go back and get that fbx file that I just created the dummy which is in my downloads folder you can see there's the Dae file that we converted to and fbx and inside here it's man d-a-e man d-a-e and here it's dummy but inside it's man fbx mm-hmm upload that it only seems to work if you keep the name man and man in both folders the Dae is saved as a man and the fbx is saved as a man so there you go it has the proper skin on it now you have to just point to these little and this is where the problem was on the last one put that right there on the wrist that goes through on the elbows that goes on the knee and this goes on the groin hit next takes a few minutes to process this information and if you ever download a dummy into here or any character it has to be in a t-post like this with the arms out to the side and the legs straight and not touching if the legs are back and ones forward or if the hands are down to the side and touching the body it won't work it it just comes up with all kinds of deformations and stuff like that so there everything worked we'll hit next so there's the Dummy from BeamNG animated and these are all the animations you have to choose from and not just these but there's more you can go up into the search queue and type in stuff but we'll just pick uh let me pick something that's never been in BeamNG because sometimes the titles shuffling okay we'll use that and we'll make it a little bit longer here just creates a longer file you know slow them down just a bit and download now here you want to download it as a Dae file so we've gone from a Dae to an fbx imported as an fbx and now we're exporting it through miximo as a Dae with skin no key frame reduction and export now we have to start thinking about where we want to put it I think we'll put it in uh let's see uh something I haven't done yet Derby Arena maybe or so let's open this up now we have to unzip this we cannot and there it is shuffling so that's the folder that we're going to put into a level as I said in the other two levels the other two videos you have two types of levels levels that people created which would be in your mods folder and then you have levels that are part of bmmg created by bmmg and again I'll show you one more time to get there it's pretty deep folders C drive programs Steam steam apps common bmmg content levels and these are the BeamNG default levels so we'll go to uh we'll just do grid map V2 again make it easy grid map V2 levels garage art and shapes so we're going to take shuffling and drop it into your shapes folder you want to always put everything in shapes so shuffling let's make sure it doesn't always work oh and one more thing I'd like to point out this is not a sure-proof method there are things that can go wrong one of the things that can go wrong is if you look in your dummy Dae you'll see you have a skin sometimes when you export it which I did not check there will not be a skin in there so let's see oh there is it's inside a textures folder but that's good it should work let's look over here just obviously it's going to be there okay so it looks like everything worked if it's not a texture in there then you want to come back over here and just go into your original file get the skin hit copy come over here and hit paste but you can see it created a texture folder so everything should be good to go so I forgot what level I put that in grid map V2 so let's launch BeamNG go to grid map V2 and see if everything worked correctly so here we are in Grid map V2 and if all went according to plan we should be able to hit f11 and go into our art shapes the name of the folder was shuffling and this should be the dummy and there he is and that's how you get an animated dummy into BeamNG and if you look closely at his wrist you can see there's no Gap there that was the problem and just to give you a better explanation we can go here go to vehicles type in Dumb dum that'll take you to this guy and we'll spawn new is he there yeah he's there let's grab the dummy so let's turn them around and move him over there with the other guy next to his friend Dumb and Dumber and there you go that's the animated BeamNG dummy see how his hands are touching how his fingers are in his leg if you ex imported that into a miximo it would it would view that as one and the whole thing would be deformed and messed up now that like I said this is not a foolproof thing there's a lot of things that can go wrong a lot of people out there going to be trying this and like it's not working I can't get it to work well there's a whole bunch of things that can go wrong you have to pay attention to details
