BeamNG Drive Basics for New Players! - Guide

what's up it's the avation and I'm going to show you 10 tips you guys need to know before starting your Beam andng Drive experience but before any of the other tips I need to show you how to load in uh you're going to have to press free roam there and then you click the map that looks most interesting to you in this case I like the jungle Rock icon one you're going to click industrial site or any of the other ones and there's just a spawn icon uh just at the bottom right here you click that so now you've loaded in with whatever the heck this is and you're ready to learn a thing or two about this beautiful game you're going to click Escape go to options here go to display on the top left if it's not already full screen make it full screen if these don't match your monitor settings just change them right away while while you can and you go left icon here graphic settings these are pretty important I usually recommend start lowest low normal just kind of work your way up to see how your performance is if it's good all the way up to ultra make it up to ultra for reference I have a 3070 at a 1440p display and I can do pretty much everything ultra high except for a couple options I'll show you and you can of course Tinker go nerd all you want in these settings but the big ones are Bloom ambient occlusion light rays turn those off it can help with some gains if you like depth the field motion blur you can turn those on but I don't usually prefer them Dynamic Reflections a big one big hit to the frames if you turn it off not going to look as good if you turn it on it's going to look way better you can also turn the resolution down Tinker with that that's basically it for those settings there right on the mouse and hold it to move the camera around in order to go forwards backwards accelerate turn right you got the arrow keys to turn left and right to accelerate it's up on the Arrow um you can you can hear it right there back on the Arrow to do the break if you want to shift up and down you're just going to press shift makes a lot of sense there shift x shift up one and if you want to go reverse or new neutral again you can go shift Zed go down as many as you want so now I'm going reverse so you're going really fast you shift up one you shift up two and you've gotten yourself into a bit of a pickle like I have here you press R to just reset it so pretty cool stuff another things there is slowmo so you can up arrow down arrow to go slower slowmo and the faster slowmo you can press just the up Arrow to toggle the slowmo where I was using the left and right before and then we also have P for parking break J for pause if you have screwed up your transmission like I have you can go back to neutral there hold V you can hear the engine start up again and I I believe that's all the important controls but I do recommend of course having a controller it makes the experience a lot better or even a wheel that makes the experience beautiful you're going to have have to press escape and then go to vehicles on the top here you can click any of the ones you you love you like you hate if you like the Gabriel T T Series click that you can double click it or replace current at the bottom or you can spawn a second one and you can press tab to tab or switch between the cars that's important to know as well so then you have this guy right here beautiful looking car right and now you get a new car you can use it awesome now you want to configure it make it your own right you're going to press Escape vehicle config up here you click these little plus arrows to really just expand the menus you can go through like I have for hours changing tuning you got the tuning up here you got the color if you don't want it red or if you don't want it black you can make it red if you don't want it red you can make it yellow if you don't want it blue you can make it blue you get the idea if you want to save it you can save it as let's call it hopper for no particular reason save that it's going to wig out whoa and and we're back it just does that for some reason save it there if you go back to Vehicles back to your gaval or whatever you you pronounce it it's going to be right here as your save vehicle now we get on to the radial menu you press escape and that's the thing you've been seeing right here you've lots of stuff there you can click electrics you you can turn on a light bar if you have one headlights on here we got the low beams you got the signals you got manage you got the fun stuff which is a little smiley face there you can close all hatches press escape again boom you can blow it up turn on fire which is pretty cool you can go AI traffic lot stuff to be had here couplers as well attach detach toggle basically all the quick shortcuts you could use are here as well so that's all Prett pretty nice to know if you're and then of course you know it's on it's been on fire for a while we got an extinguisher here scoo now you've been driving around for a while you want to change the environment make it a little bit easier to drive change the gravity you're going to press escape again go to environment at the top there you can change the time of day to whatever you know best suits you best looks as beautiful it's going to be always just sunrise and then you can also have a day night scale you can press play to change that you can Cloud speed cloud cover you can add more fog make it super foggy make it so you can barely see anything right and then you can also lower the fog density so you can see everything changing changing the gravity is always super fun right you can go negative or I mean positive in this case right and then oh increase the gravity again go Earth gravity 9.81 and it's going to crash down that's basically every whoa you also have the slowing icons there and the tire marks sh yeah definitely the most fun to be had in this game is the addition of mods to add mods you're going to have to go escape click up to here for mods lots of different mods to do kind of whatever you want to do with them um these are the ones you have you can go Repository for to look up more mods for example if you want to look up more maps which you know are classified as a mod you just deselect all the ones that like I'm doing here that aren't maps you can search by most downloaded or reviews or ratings Etc click the little blue thing for the mod you want to download like I have done for car jump Arena wait for it to download and then you can go map not map main menu free roam because it'll be there now look for your newly downloaded map which I believe is Jump Arena if I can find it right there and then you can load into this map just like that UI apps are also pretty important if you notice my speedometer looks different from yours you can go UI apps from the Escape menu again you can click edit apps and then you can sort of delete or change whatever you have on the screen or you can go add app and you can add any of these you know just Tinker around the speedometers are near the middle I believe I use the enhanced Taco 3 one just gives me more more options air speeds instead of Tire speeds and so on but there's so many to add so many different statistics to have it's all pretty cool also traffic mod modifications there all pretty cool stuff that you you definitely should know now say you've been trying for a while and your car is stuck there's something you should need to know uh you press control here you press and you can it basically highlights all these nodes that are around your mouse currently and you can grab a you can scroll wheel to increase the strength of the grabbing of the node and you can move your vehicle around blow it up just crash the game do whatever you want with it right if you go up with it and press the middle Mouse button it just holds the vehicle in place so that's pretty sick as well you can like play TG of War battle and just destroy it you know this game's about destroying another means to destroy vehicles for number 10 it's a little bit cheeky go check out the description uh or the next video playing for
