Beach Fishing Mulloway WHY didn’t I try this Rig sooner ?!

good morning and welcome back to another Rush gang fishing episode just down the beach this morning got the two big rods with me hopefully as the sun makes its way up one of these big rods goes off it's looking really good down here this morning it's a bit overcast the water's nice and murky it's a lot of movement in the water quite a big swell no seaweed I am feeling pretty hopeful this morning that we can get ourselves a good beach fish I'll roll the clip of the rigs I'm using the Dingle angles something different I never tried it before so I thought I might as well give it a go and yeah let's get into it once the sun's up a bit more I'll show you these dingle dangle rigs that I'm using I've never used them before but I got my hands on a couple so I thought I might as well try them out something different using mallets for baits this morning I just brought three Mallet down with me just a quick Sunrise [Music] session what I might do cut that like that so what you do is you sort of build the bait around the foam float so the bait doesn't actually go on your hook and that sort of helps keep your bait up off the ground away from the crabs away from the Stingrays hopefully yeah sort of in the in the strike zone for Snapper or mway or whatever comes by so I just sort of use that bait cotton wrap that around it and then that'll sort of be floating up like that again bear with me I've never done this before so that's it there though same rig I usually use grapel Sinker up to the three-way swivel and then you just use a single circle hook it's got the little float on there that you build the bait around and that's just going to help make the bait look nice and natural and then you just wrap the crap out of of this stuff and this way you can sort of mix your baits up as well you can go like mullet and squid or bit of pilit on there whatever and just sort of build your own bait with this bait coton so instead of that just sitting on the on the bottom there that's now going to float up off the bottom so my Sinker will be on the bottom that's going to float up and the current and the swell it's going to look all natural I don't know in theory it seems good we'll give it a crack though all right she's out there yeah the sun's going to come up shortly and yeah I've just got the same setup on this Rod so both rods I'm going to use the same technique this morning grapnel Sinker three-way crane swivel I fill had a hearing left so I've just use that to build that around the float I don't know that looks pretty good to me I've got a bag full of di up Pils there so I'll keep throwing handfuls of those in all that's both baits out in the water Sun's just starting to make its way up now I've started chucking handfuls of Burly in I've got the dingle dangle rig on both rods here I'll fish for a couple hours this morning to see if we can catch ourselves a fish it's now mway Samson Taylor something along those lines would be worked it actually seems pretty good I was half expecting there to be lots of seaweed down there cuz of the bigger swell in that but so far there doesn't seem to be any weed thingers cross my grapnels can sort of hold the bottom and um we're in for a good chance here I reckon really good chot damn it I missed it on camera but my very first bait out there just got absolutely whacked it's actually taken my bait and put in the dingle dangle in half there I'll still be able to use that one so I'll rebate it up and get it back out there this Zone that I'm fishing it's usually pretty calm and they there but CU it's a big swell it's all pretty stirred up and there it actually looks really fishy so yeah unfortunately that fish there missed the hook but that's first car so that's a good sign I'll get another bait out I'm going to try a slightly smaller bait I've got two little bits of mullet and I'm just sort of backing them onto the the foam there then just wrap the bait up and what I'm going to do this time I'll show you is I won't cotton the tail of it and then they can sort of you know flick around like a fish I guess so only coton the top half I'm spewing that fish didn't hit the hooks I reckon it was a decent one the rod put a good bend in the rod feels kind of strange not putting any bait on your hook but I've watched a few videos of guys in South Africa and they using these and it works see I think I'm doing that right that's just the hook it's got the foam in there I haven't caught in the bottom of it so it's got like a bit of a tail so it can wobble around in the surf and yeah the idea of that that's going to float up off the bottom sort of sit in the strike zone and away from the Stingrays let's get her out there come on push on but other rods on holy heck heavy roders on I just looked over as I was casting out that new bait and this one was buckled yes this is a good fish oh dear so that's the first two baits my first one got chomped in half I've got a really good fish on here I don't want to call it too early but I feel like it might be a snapper oh I've had these things sat in my tackle bag for a while now should have used them earlier I think yes oh it's trying to run yeah I reckon this is a good snapper Wow first two casts come on bud coming yeah it's such a weird feeling not putting any bait on your hook but yeah you want the fish to come in and smash that bait the Hook's got perfect hook exposure cuz there's nothing on it I just seen it in the wave there I couldn't quite tell what that was I think it is a snapper wow come on it's been super stubborn there in the shallows I just seen its tail come on come on he's in like a foot of water there it's got to use the surf to ease them man he's coming oh come on please please stay on I can't quite tell what that I think it's a snapper or is it a Samsung oh it's a mile away is that yeah it's bloody Mal away there you go holy heck I'm tangled up here wo follow way on how's that guys perf Metro Malay second bait of the morning on the VX jingle dangle there's that hanging out its mouth and look at this check this out somebody else's Sinker hanging out its mouth and there's an old see of gang hooks in there I'm going to keep this fish cuz he's pretty well buggered he's got gang hooks down his throat it's a bit of blood there that second car so my first dingle dangle got smashed got clean bit in half maybe a big tail or something and then the second one Mr ml's come through [Music] [Music] [Music] if I happen to catch anything else this morning it'll be going straight back I do always feel a little bit guilty taking them all away for some reason but he probably wasn't going to release and the end of the day I am down here chasing the feed so he certainly won't go to waste there he is perfect eating size fish 8384 CM oh it's been about 20 minutes since I got that M away now and haven't had another hit so I'm just going to freshen up the baits again I'm glad I tried something new this morning I almost wasn't going to as it just felt just feels a bit weird not putting bait on your hook but but once you get your heat around that it's all right it makes sense this technique especially if it can keep you away from stingrays there's nothing worse than having a fight a stingray for you know 15 20 minutes especially if it's sort of prime time it's going to go smaller profile baits just like that one and that with the float in between wrapp her up looks like a good little snack for a fish I just ripped all the old bait off that one you can probably leave it on there and just keep adding to it but I thought I'd start fresh there that there that one there as I said I I'm not even 100% sure I'm doing this right but I don't really care that's a wicked looking piece of bait again I feel like the smaller profile baits are kind of perfect cuz the fish will come in Smash the smaller profile bait and hopefully he'll cop a bit of that hook while he's at it looks about right to me all right let's lob them out there just starting to rain as well hope we can score one more fush just going to scale it down the beach here to make it easier to fill it when I get home they got some pretty big scales on these guys makes it a lot easier to fill it scaled also want to open its um stomach up and just see what it's been feeding on I always find that pretty interesting I know that's pretty gruesome for some people but it's good to know what your fish are feeding on I think the stomach feels pretty full and he had another rig in his mouth so he's he's been feeding it's pretty chunky fish that'll make it far easier to fill it once I get home a lot less messy I don't have my fting knife with me last bait's out there now sort of giving them 15 odd minutes so thought I might as well sort this out let's have a look inside here she's pretty chalkers there's a lot of food in there actually let's have a look oh what's that look like a squid is it cuddlefish is it yeah that's a cattle fish so smash that I'll keep that for bait something hard in here too how do they just have that in their stomach yeah there you go the Cuttlefish bone how must be so uncomfortable to have that in your stomach there's a pelted or a muy I'm guessing that's on that other guys gang Hooks and there's a scaly scaly or a pilit in there and yeah that whole cattle fish that'll go in my bucket thank you all that can go back in the ocean that's impressive like how do you just live with that in your stomach I don't get it fish are mad i' be M away Wings in the air fry when I get home [Music] [Music] hopefully the inside of the Mal stomach wasn't too gruesome for everyone but I think it's pretty interesting to see what they're feeding on see a whole cattle fish and a pilit down there and then he wanted to eat
