okay I know if you just don't want to go there listen I want to just ask you about one other aspect of that life you were living 70s and 80s again I guess you were say this quo were a huge band and you were the most popular band on top of the pot in the Britain's biggest rock and roll weekly show I love that show you appeared on it more than any other band and you knew what went on I guess we're talking about Sabol I'm talking about the one of the hosts one of the leading all hosts of that show and and radio shows Jimmy Savile who we now know was a serial criminal abuser of young people of admitting anything at all did you know I was 17 or 18 so it didn't seem that ridiculous into lots of people when you first came across several you were 17 18 18 yeah and that thing went on that I told you about and because we just yeah I think you can't tell me about it on air why not I mean I don't think I can't I think that's gross anyway something went on as I said during the show - he said come and see these they're only 12 years old and never mind he kind of ignore it you're new to thing you've just got into the system you don't want you're a teenager you say yes and it and to be honest thing to be on 15 year olds artwork it didn't seem as gross as it does now obviously what was what they were doing you didn't need they realized the gravity of if you do you wish but everybody of my generation of all those acts there you asked them they all had an inkling or all but we were told to watch out for the LEAs mafia and even when Louis Theroux had him cornered on camera Jimmy Savile was that confident he looked straight at him and the camera was you he knew somehow and he still must have something in the system that's covering him or covering what's gone on we know all know it's we just can't find it and I find it interesting that we go to rock and roll or DJs over if you want to find out where there's pedophiles there going to be where children are they're not going to be where it's not really rocket science but you just said something interesting about the the difference of the time and the culture back then I mean do you think that the culture has changed fundamentally since then you know what what happened and the way in which people look the other way and didn't want to believe that the stuff you know that they had an inkling about could really be happening I just didn't think about it too much could could that still happen today or have things change it must be happening today we can't really imagine it's gone can we but this whole the whole thing that went on then it was we would be at top of the pops and parents mothers particularly but drop their daughters off and there was no way they were older than 14 yeah and they trusted nothing of what was i imagining was going on I don't and it was different you young women would throw themselves at you literally steady whoa and that could still happen now at times do you did whether the public need your wife because you're young I mean you were a young man at that time and you've survived the culture you you had any very successful young rock-and-roller had to have some sort of self-discipline otherwise you would you would get lost in a world like that I think I was for a little while in terms of females although but that way I got tired of that really quickly mmm you know on the straight side if you wish none what we were talking you know I got tired of that very quickly that you realize it's got really nothing to do with you other than whatever this persona they see is or or the whole glamorous life that's attached to it and as I said to you earlier it was a different world it was that post black-and-white sort of oh god drunk it out I remember playing in bomb sites and so even when we thought the sixties was new and thirty yeah it's all new still for you look at it now it was really a drab and so I don't know if people were hoping they would escape with the rest of us I don't know I still don't I still find the fascination if we look at the X Factor generation yeah they want to get round here they see this front the showbiz it looks fabulous well of course it looks fabulous it's show business you don't want to see the real bit at the back here and I find I get on people's I've chase them off because I keep saying you don't want to see what's back here it's grim it's just ordinary and mundane
