CALDOR FIRE AS WELL AND WON'T BE ABLE TO RESPOND PROMPTLY TO CALLS. METEOROLOGIST KARI HALL JOINS US NOW. I DON'T KNOW WHY ANYONE WOULD WANT TO GO TO THE TAHOE BASIN RIGHT NOW. THAT AIR QUALITY IS JUST CHOKINGLY BAD. >> YEAH, IT'S STILL THE WORST IN THE WORLD AT THIS POINT JUST BECAUSE OF ALL THE FIRES THAT ARE BURNING. AND NOW IT'S BEING PUSHED DOWN SETTLING IN. AND I SAW THIS CAMERA AND JUST COULDN'T HELP BUT TO THINK OF THESE VULTURES HERE RESTING ON THE CAMERA AND ALL OF THE ANIMALS THAT ARE LOSING THEIR HABITATS THIS WEEKEND. AND FROM THE PAST FEW DAYS ALL OF THE FIRES THAT HAVE BEEN BURNING ACROSS THE STATE. AND SO, YEAH, IT IS A TIME TO DEFINITELY REFLECT AND STAY AT HOME WITH THE FAMILY. AND YOU MIGHT WANT TO LIMIT YOUR TIME OUTSIDE AS WELL, AS WE ARE LOOKING AT ALL THE SMOKE THAT'S BEEN MOVING THROUGH, IT LOOKS SO HAZY OUT THERE WITH THIS LIVE DUBLIN CAMERA. IF YOU ARE SENSITIVE TO THE SMOKE, YOU DO WANT TO LIMIT YOUR TIME OUT THERE, AND THIS AIR QUALITY ADVISORY HAS BEEN EXTENDED THROUGH MONDAY AS WE ARE SEEING MODERATE TO AT TIMES UNHEALTHY FOR SENSITIVE GROUP TYPE OF AIR QUALITY. AND SOME OF THE WORST OF IT AS WE SEE THE YELLOW HERE ON OUR NEAR SURFACE SMOKE MODEL FORECAST SHOWS THAT IT'S IN THE NORTH BAY, BUT WE'RE ALSO SEEING IT FOR THE REST OF THE BAY AREA AND EVEN NEAR THE COAST LINE AND SOME OF THE SANTA CRUZ MOUNTAINS. BUT NOTICE THERE WILL BE SOME CLEARING OUT, I WOULDN'T CALL IT CLEARING BUT IT'S STILL GOING TO LOOK VERY HAZY. MAYBE SOME LIFTING BUT PARTS OF THE NORTH BAY WILL STILL SEE SOME OF THAT UNHEALTHY AIR QUALITY FOR SENSITIVE GROUPS. AND MOST OF THIS SMOKE IS COMING STRAIGHT DOWN FROM THE NORTH AROUND THE MONUMENT FIRE. SOME OF THE FIRES THAT ARE BURNING ACROSS NORTHERN CALIFORNIA BEING DRAWN INTO THE MARINE LAYER. AND THIS AS A LOT OF PEOPLE WILL BE OUTSIDE FOR THE BOTTLE ROCK FESTIVAL GOING ON IN NAPA THIS WEEKEND. HIGHS TODAY NOT TOO BAD REACHING INTO THE LOW 80s. IT'S GOING TO BE VERY NICE OUT THERE AND SUNNY. AND THEN TOMORROW WE ARE GOING TO SEE THE HAZY CONDITIONS, HIGHS IN THE UPPER 80s AND A LITTLE BIT WARMER HEADING TOWARD THE END OF THE WEEKEND. LET'S GO THROUGH OUR WEEKEND FORECAST BECAUSE OUR TEMPERATURES ARE JUST A TOUCH WARMER TODAY. WE COOL DOWN TONIGHT, AND THOSE EARLY MORNING HOURS ARE GOING TO BE THE BEST TIME FOR GETTING OUTSIDE, GETTING IN THOSE OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES. BUT THEN NOTICE HOW TOMORROW AFTERNOON, I'M STOPPING IT RIGHT HERE AT 4:00, AND IT'S GOING TO BE REALLY HEATING UP WITH SOME MID-90s, A FEW SPOTS REACHING INTO THE UPPER 90s. THEN GOING INTO TOMORROW NIGHT COOLING DOWN ONCE AGAIN, AND WE'RE JUST GOING TO HEAT IT UP EVEN MORE ON SUNDAY AS WELL AS LABOR DAY. SO I THINK THE BEACH IS GOING TO BE A POPULAR DESTINATION. WE'RE LOOKING AT TEMPERATURES ALONG THE COAST LINE MOSTLY IN THE 60s AND LOW 70s. AND AS WE GO INTO NEXT WEEK, THE HIGH PRESSURE THAT'S KEEPING IT HOT NOW WILL START TO EASE OFF. WE'LL SEE A COUPLE OF STORM SYSTEMS MOVING INTO THE PACIFIC NORTHWEST. OUR TEMPERATURES HERE ONCE AGAIN THE FOCUS FOR THIS HOLIDAY WEEKEND WILL BE THE SMOKE AND THE HEAT. INLAND AREAS ARE GOING TO BE REALLY HOT. AND THEN GOING INTO EARLY NEXT WEEK, WE START TO SEE THOSE TEMPERATURES COMING DOWN SLOWLY, BUT THE REAL RELIEF WILL BE NEAR
