Barrel & Blade 2 Box Review... Double The Fun

hello I'm Phillip and this is Navarro's World Outdoors [Music] So today we're gonna go over two boxes we're going to do Decembers and uh januaries and the reason I did that is I wanted to wait I didn't put out a video last month um I did have the box it was late anyway but I wanted to wait to see if anything what I guess I would consider anything more anything special uh was in the box for like Christmas or if anything extra or special was in the first box of the year and so we're going to find that out um and that's why I didn't do the video last month I wanted to wait till I get them both so I'm going to do both of them now and let's get started with December's so on this this is barrel and Blades monthly subscription box um there's two subscriptions there is uh level one and level two and I do the level two one of them is fifty dollars and one of them is a hundred dollars um the difference is sometimes you get extra things in there or a little better quality of the things from level one uh in this case level one this month which actually December has one two three and level two has one two three four five so you have got two extra items and this is a Content card that they send you and it has all the contents in there uh it has it for you know level one and level two it tells you everything you get it gives you the price their prices and tells you a little bit about each uh each thing you get each product I guess and they do uh either number or name or both and this one is operation 66. so let's get started and see what we have here um let's start off with number one tactica K100 pocket knife and those of you have been watching or following no I love pocket knives okay oh and we did get a ammo cam uh full of ammo uh no it's not full of ammo I wish it was that would be really nice but some stuff is in here foreign we'll just go down the list like I said um so the first thing on this card is the tactica 100 pocket knife and this is it I don't know some stuff here but this is the knife and you can open there's like a little window here to kind of let you hopefully you can see that but yeah we're gonna open it up and check it out anyway I think if I could get it open so yeah I do really like what I get knives which normally I get some sort of knife in this box it is called barrel and blade so here's the package that comes in to take it out and there there it is so it is tactica I've never heard of this doesn't mean anything I'm new to all of this anyway but uh it is tactica and uh not Tactical and there's a few things on it um I just transferred kind of what it says on the card here to a notepad just because I can't read that little writing so what it tells you on here is the value of this is 99 okay I go look on Amazon or other sites usually Amazon I try Amazon I have always thought they had everything and there's some things they don't have but um this is one of them so I didn't find this exact knife but I found similar ones or I mean I did find it on other sites and it is valued at 99 also that what they tell you about this knife here it is reverse Tonto so let's get it out Here We Go reverse Tonto uh 2.96 um blade length so it's 2.96 blade late it is made of D2 steel it does have G can uh handles um it does have a smooth ball bearing pivot there's a liner lock of course and it does have the orange that sticks out you can see it um thumb stud pretty smooth didn't take much you know I I always go hard anyway because I think they do but uh sometimes I think they're hard and you could I don't know if you could see but it it has oil in there so it comes lubed it's ready to go it's this is a nice knife I like this knife I'm not bad on the sharpening so it does you know it opens up it has a little stop there and then it fully opens it does have some jimping on top here it goes from here to the stud and then it misses a Skips a little space and then it goes to here so you have jimping from basically here to here so it's nice there nice nice grip you know you can see my hand just gripped on there pretty good uh it's not too short it's not too long it uh if you need to really bite up on it it has that like I said Jim being way up here but this right here is Pretty Natural for me it does have a little loophole in the back here um so you could clip it on something if you could put on your backpack or something like that uh one thing I notice is there is no so this is a pocket knife and I guess a true pocket knife because there's no clip on here to clip on your pocket on either side there's no clip there's no place to put a clip there's not a clip included and um so true pocket knife you drop it in your pocket or carry it on your backpack that's your only options on this one um I don't know I think I still like I I still like it nice so now let's move on to the next item if I could put this in right there's not um you know nothing in there no paperwork of any kind uh there are details on the back of the box okay that's number one uh number two is the MTN case guard ammo box okay well here we go straight to the ammo box and again what they say on this um you can store bulk ammo or boxed ammo batteries Electronics this is good for Batteries Electronics also um it does have a like a rubber o-ring in here around the lid to keep the water out to keep it water tight uh so it is water resistant I guess uh holds up to 15 pounds of stuff uh it's made of polypropylene plastic um and I'm sure a lot of youths have this or have some of these you know it's not the metal ones which metal ones are a little heavier but and probably put more stuff in them too or heavier stuff but uh these ain't bad I like these um basically just now okay clips and that's about it tells you everything everything on here also the dimensions of this is uh 3.4 inches long by 8.9 inches wide by 6.1 inches high so ammo can all right let's see if we can keep it out of the way and next up is the heskins tactical grip tape oh that's what was in that box I think around okay so yeah yeah there we go I don't know if you can see this with all the maybe too much glare I'm not sure but it's a roll of grip tape um it says actually add extra grip to any gun knife or tool water resistant um hold on just real quick back up on the ammo can it they have a valued at 14 Amazon has it at fourteen dollars just wanted to get back to that sorry about that and this one this is valued at twelve dollars and Amazon has different brands different types um different prices so bigger rolls the littler rolls but it's it's about the same it's about the same price so what you do with this stuff I'm sure you know a lot of you know um whatever you're going to put it on you clean it with alcohol make sure it's cleaned off real good make sure it's it's dried and then you just basically tape this on there like tape and it'll add extra um extra grip to anything you need but I'm going to go ahead and open this just it's resealable so I'm going to open it and um see what we got exactly Okay so on here it looks like they give you a couple of or one a piece of camel not very much but I guess you could put this on something um I don't know if I'll use this stuff I don't know enough about it I don't know I just don't know um it's pretty let's see what it is here because they give you it's on this card they give you two little pieces on here just to show you um the different [Music] they give you the different uh grips I guess one's an abrasive grip and one's a non-abrasive this is has to be the abrasive because it pretty grippy so non-abrasive abrasive I mean you could tell it's look at that this one but I'll give you a roll of it put it you know on guns tools whatever you need extra grip I'm going to go ahead and say it because it's stuck in my mind I gotta buddy at work that says gription and I keep wanting to say it so I'm going to say it just to get it out of my get it out of my mind so that'll give you some good gription on uh whatever you want to put it on so that's what that is I'm gonna put it back in this can just to keep everything contained along with the knife okay moving on to the uh let's see what are we on one two three the fourth item a knife sharpener okay well that's cool that's cool so here is a dya fire knife sharpener this the package that comes in they say they make them in bright colors so you can't lose them uh it's made out of or I mean it has a PVC suction cup um and you could attach it to any smooth surface okay valued at 15 I could not find this on Amazon I could not find this anywhere as a matter of fact I didn't spend a lot of time but I I mean you typed this in and you it should come up it didn't so I couldn't find it I don't know who sells this I don't know where it's from or anything uh first time I've ever seen one of these and I do I use the Work Sharp knife sharpener and I I like it so what this has on it is the little white stones here I'm thinking because that what I use the white stones for is the um you know the final prep so this might just be something to do in between in between sharpenings just to keep your knife always at that you know perfect sharpness once you use it gets a little bit dull hit it on this you know when you need to rework it and do all that then you go to the bigger ones but this is nice I don't know if this is sharp enough but or smooth enough but let's try it I don't know how this is going to work I don't even know if I'm doing it right clearly I am not so let's see here okay it has a suction cup I see it now hold it down screw it down and it's probably not going to work on this table but we'll see real quick no not going to work on this table anyway it has these little this is all plastic but it has these plastic little things here to allow it to when you when you're sharpening it'll move with the degree of angle that you're wanting but I guess like I said in between sharpenings I guess it would work it would it would be nice um but that that's that's what we have so let's let's move on final thing Midland X talk ready kit Okay so like I said I was trying to see if they threw in any extra stuff for the Christmas season I don't feel like they did um I don't know all right if this so these are worth 62.49 is their value I found them on Amazon for 49.99 totaling their values came up to 202.49 dollars from what I found them and where I found them it came up to 189.99 still got my hundred dollars worth okay still got my hundred dollars worth so I'm gonna say there's nothing extra in here that came for the holiday um for the holiday but I'm okay with that because again I kind of figured that would happen because last year that happened um but I wanted to see if maybe something changed this year um the Midland radios I have a full video on these okay uh if you want just go to my channel um look through my my videos and I have a full video on these so I'm not going to do that here now because I this is already going to be a long video because of the two boxes but these radios are good they work good they're great mine that I have did not that I bought uh and I bought them off Amazon didn't come in a case like this this has a case um to carry them in and it says it's a kit so let's let's go ahead and take at least a look at it because I don't know what it means by Ikea I thought just because it's a box was ever a case so nice case comes in a nice crease I like this I wish mine would have came in a case so this is really nice so this is what you get you got a nice case two radios two radios um foreign yeah I'm sure don't have batteries I have a light like this too and uh so this is the square light um Once you turn it on you can adjust the the throw and it's a square light and so it just wider or narrow um it's it's a decent light it's a decent light oh look here whistle so gotta whistle with what does it have oh tells you the temperature on one side and then the other side has your compass so let's let's see what's this oh yeah it it's on it works I don't know about the degrees I couldn't see that anyway without my glasses so uh see what else is in here charger got your charger um oh it looks like you got to use uh you got to charge each one into oh let's see it has these Midland batteries uh rechargeable batteries of course so you put these in there and then you use this cord and you'll have to recharge each individual one by itself separately as far as using them like I said just you know go to my other channel or my other channel uh go to my other video on this and um full review on how to use them so that's nice I do like this I wish like I said my other ones were King but now I have four of them which is great because you can link them all together and use all four of them so I had two of them for for me and the wife one you know one for me one for her but now you know some friends or somebody might go with us and we'll have four of them so they can have one too so that is great I like that all right so again nothing extra that I could say in that box let's move on to January I like that box again I like that box um I ain't mad at it I like it all right so next again we have the content card and this one is operation 67. level one kit for fifty dollars you would have got one two three four items and level two kit for a hundred dollars you would have got one two three four five items so one extra item in this uh so let's find out what we got here uh first of all again Kershaw Terrain so a knife Kershaw I like Kershaw I like her so I got I got a few of these and I got I got a few in barrel and blade but the Kershaw Terrain let's look at that just real quick oh so I could read all this um they value it at 59.99 I did find it on Amazon for 33.95 uh it's a sister opening folder knife all still construction it's got a slim design deep pocket carry clip 3.125 inch blade uh that's a pretty and it says it has a Sleek profile detailed machine work HCR 13 mov steel drop point when it's fully closed or I'm sorry the handle part is four inches fully closed or I'm sorry fully opened is 7.125 inches okay so no not about it this is little it's littler than the other one and this is what we got okay let's open it oh nice that's pretty good yeah I like that here's what we got as far as blade and handle it's got some jumping up top also goes from here to here you know it looks smaller than the other one and my measurements I think it was a little smaller but in the hand it feels about the same it's not as as as fat I guess so you know if it's a little bit and it's still you can see my hand there that's how it would be so not bad I like this knife I think um I'm gonna start carrying this and that that reminds me uh somebody asked me to do a I don't know I don't want to say empty pot what do they call it empty pocket video or EDC video because EDC to me of course everyday carry I don't carry the same stuff every day it depends what I'm doing it depends of course at work you're going to carry a lot less uh it depends on the weekend if I'm home or if I'm going out and where I'm going to so be looking for that I will be doing a video of what I am carrying that day I'll just I'll just do a quick video of that but um back to this knife nice knife I like it a lot of detail in this handle on both sides so uh the the machine the Machining done on this is very nice I like this I am going to start carrying this I'll start rotating that out because I have one favorite one and um I carry that almost all the time but we'll be changing it up with this one okay next is The Snug pack Jungle Bag so I have seen these well don't have one but I have seen them and uh I don't like I don't like when these are tied up and all right I don't mind this one it was easy this is it here we go all right so it says tropical sleeping bag so it's good down to 45 degrees uh it has a roll away mosquito net okay so roll away mosquito net that it's like a hood so it's a sleeping bag then you put like the hood on and you zip up the mosquito net on your face um if so it's made as a square so if you open it fully it'll make a square and you can use it as a quilt so that's pretty nice I mean you could use it just if you're sitting around the campfire open it up throw it on you and uh keep warm that way and then when you're ready to go to sleep zip it up turn it into your um sleeping bag and then you can zip up your head if you want so you don't get um bit by mosquitoes so yeah pretty nice I like it let me see if I can read the let's just say here fully opened 87 inches long and 31 inches wide that ain't bad anyway that's what that is next what do we have next uh flits tactical gun and knife care kit oh and again I don't know why I keep missing this their value 79 dollars on Amazon on sale because it was 79 but on sale right now it's 65.98 so there you go for that price I don't know why I keep skipping the prices Fitz tactical gun and knife care kit that is this okay they're valued they're value in this kit at 29 dollars Amazon okay different kits this I don't know I I don't know if this is how it comes or they just threw stuff in a bag and made it a kit because I've seen a bunch of different kits on there and they were 25 to 33 dollars um so this kit this is what it is let's see what so again I I don't know if they threw threw a bag together but you got you a cloth here microfiber you have you um tactical matte finish cleaner and you have ceramic gun sealant and you have metal plastic and fiberglass polish plus paint restorer that's what that is that's all that stuff look nice presentation all right that's that's what that is let's get it back in the bag and to move on I I'm not I'm not real happy with it but uh I'll use it you know I I normally say put stuff to the site that I'll use or I won't use or don't like or do like or whatever and um most the other box I use everything in it this box so far I'll use everything I'll try this stuff out I'll try this stuff out and see how it works uh Sleeping Bag um I'll let my wife sleep outside and try it and see what I'll get back to you see what she thinks I'm just kidding uh I don't know I may try it I may not I'm getting old I'm sleeping with sleeping bags okay Moving On Moving On fire [ __ ] multi fire starting Carabiner I have seen these I just don't don't have one I like that I got one um here it is all right it's stainless steel this says the Carabiner capacity is 100 pounds it has a spark wheel to start fires which is right down here um it has feral uh feral rod in here of course that's what you're going to spark it on and it has extra feral rods up here it's titanium coated lightweight and it is light maybe about an ounce it's pretty light it's not too big either um stainless steel safety blade I don't know where that's at a stainless steel safety blade okay uh does have a bottle opener okay I'm assuming here but okay oh on the back here it says some stuff too uh bottle open screwdriver tip and hang slots for keys again so let's let's look at the back uh throw a spark make fire that's number one that's down here uh safety utility blade cut cord oh okay okay that's right in here right in in this little V you could cut paracord fishing string stuff like that flathead screwdriver tip for those slotted moments so number three that's way up here in this corner okay um and keep looking over here hang slot hang slots hang Keys gear Tinder uh Tinder vial number four well I guess this little hole down here is what that's for that's where the number four is number five bottle opener number five yep that's right here okay or uh lightweight yeah lightweight it says it only weighs one ounce I was about right okay so that's that's what you got there this is nice I like it um you just hit that Flint and um it'll throw Sparks and then you got your Tinder uh but that's that is moving on down the one bat I hope I'm saying that one bat whistle kit another whistle sounds like so here it is wombat whistle kit clip to Carabiner oh right here got it clip to carabiner uh aluminum water type vial Tinder tabs and these tender tabs burn for one to two minutes okay all right so this is good and it I'm same company I'm assuming and they yeah they are outdoor element so you could take this put your Tinder in there you open this up put your Tinder in there then you have a whistle you probably put your flints in there too your extra flints so then when you're ready to start a fire you open this up like it shows on the back open it up pull out your Tinder uh what it or not water but separate it up and then spark it with this and start your fires so there you go and according to that that's all that's in there and that is all that's in there so again for January I don't think anything extra cane um for the first box which is okay I just wanted to see if it did it didn't last year but I wanted to see if maybe something changed this year it didn't which is fine like I said I ain't mad at it um I pay a hundred dollars for these boxes and I normally get my money's worth this one was 187.99 through there through their prices on their card uh through Amazon or wherever I found it it looked like I found everything on Amazon on this one um came out to 148.87 so still over a hundred dollar value um and again stuff that I would not go out and buy you know the knives I really like the knives the knives you know I enjoy getting knives I enjoy getting knives all the other stuff I think is extra for me because I don't have it I don't get it I don't buy it I wouldn't go out and buy this I wouldn't go out and buy these because I just don't know enough about all this stuff you know me if I'm gonna go buy a sleeping bag probably not gonna be this one I'm just gonna go buy a regular sleeping bag so I enjoy the stuff I get and I get to learn new stuff or what's out there um that I didn't know about uh get to learn new things and then I get to share it with you so that's why I like making these videos if you like these videos
