Baltimore Ravens: THIS is THE MOVE...

welcome into the channel everyone it's your guy Noah here with for the fly coming at you guys tonight with another episode of ravens reports as always we're bringing you guys our top five news reports and storylines coming out of our Baltimore Ravens today maybe we got some good news bad news all things in between and just a ton of ravens content to talk about tonight so uh first of all check out this throw this anticipation throw through this tight window to Nelson Aguilar Lamar Jackson Nelson continue their connection that they built uh starting in the off season but let's go ahead and dive right into this thing so at number one if you haven't already seen Marlon Humphrey has suffered a foot injury something that's been lingering and he'll be missing uh at least a couple of weeks he had to have surgery today and John Harbaugh said he does expect it to be long term but that he does expect him to miss some time reports are is that it puts week one in Jeopardy so I would rather the Ravens not rushing back I'd rather have Marlon Humphrey you know in January February time frame if you know what I mean then have him rush back on the field right now and at number two Rogue Juan Smith speaks on Marlon Humphrey and he says no doubt it definitely hurts but they'll have to pick up the slack you know talking about roquan Smith and those other leaders on the defense but that he's looking forward to having Marlon Humphrey back out there soon so raquan Smith and his other teammates coaches don't expect this thing to be long term but I will say Jalen Homer Davis it's your time to go baby like the Ravens drafted you in the fourth round Caillou blue Kelly like these young guys are going to have to step up and the NFL's top linebacking duo with roquan Smith and Patrick Queen is going to have to prove and show why they are the League's top linebacker Duo and help you know pick up some of the slack that's going to be left by Marlon Humphrey because there's no doubt it's a lot of slack Mullen Humphrey's A Difference Maker in this defense he's the one guy that you probably would want to if you had to choose a guy to not get injured this year it would be Marlon Humphrey that he's that important to the defense at least on the defensive side of the ball right so um Roque Juan Smith Pratchett Queen and then our two safeties in the back end are gonna have to protect these Corners as well man they're gonna have to bracket guys they're gonna have to get hands on footballs turnovers pass breakups and it's gonna it's gonna play a big role in trying to make up for this loss of Marlon Humphrey hopefully it's not long hopefully it's not you know until like week 10 or something crazy hopefully it's uh just a couple of weeks into the season so the Ravens can get their All-Pro corner back back as soon as possible and at number three let's talk about some of the options that the Ravens can do okay I see it as three different options that the Baltimore Ravens have okay so they can a sign of Veteran cornerback B great for a starting corner or C roll with the young guys they have right that's really the three options they have when it comes to addressing the cornerback position sign a vet trade for a vet or roll with the guys you got those are the three options option a signing a veteran there's guys out there like Bryce Callahan William Jackson who the Ravens brought in for a visit John Harbaugh did say that with veterans though he said we're late a lot of cornerbacks are already on teams and the guys that aren't you got to make sure they're in shape and they actually want to play football so I don't know if that's maybe why the Ravens didn't add William Jackson maybe he wasn't in football shape yet and uh you know hadn't really been preparing um that's just speculation though Kyle Fuller we don't know how healthy he is he played for the Ravens last year you know towards ACL in week one so the Ravens um that's the veteran path there's a couple of guys out there the other path that we're talking about with uh trading for a guy is a guy like jair Alexander that's the big sexy name that everyone wants he's a All-Pro cornerback came in the same year as Marlon Humphrey and if you did get chair Alexander and then you had Martin Humphrey come back healthy that would just be one of the nastiest secondaries the Ravens have ever had like Marlon Humphrey jahir Alexander Kyle Hamilton Marcus Williams would just be nasty and uh then the linebackers in the middle So Not only would it help temporarily it would also help in the long term of just having the NFL's best secondary but that's probably not realistic trading for a guy is going to be hard at this point because teams think they're in it right now like we're everyone every team has hope right now and nobody wants to give away a top Corner whenever they feel like they still have a chance for the playoffs like everyone's going into the year with high expectations High Hopes And you know that they want to win their division or make the playoffs so until uh teams start to realize they're not as good as they thought they were or they start to lose a couple of games you get closer to the trade deadline that's whenever teams start to become sellers right and teams become clear buyers at the deadline to either add their roster you know talent to their roster or to add picks if they're sellers for the future of their roster so it's going to be hard to execute a trade right now as much as I would love to see the Ravens go all out for jair Alexander that would just be absolutely amazing I don't think it's necessarily realistic at this point in time maybe if the Packers have a rough start we're sitting around week five week six and the Packers are sitting at like two wins and jair Alexander wants to change of scenery wants to win maybe the Ravens could make something happen at that point at uh and then the other option is trusting the young guys so just Jalen armor Davis is supposed to come back soon I believe he's talented I believe he has the traits of a starting quarterback in this league he's got size speed and he's got maturity in football smarts he yes he he was thrusted into the lineup against Miami made some mistakes also had a nice pass breakup against Tyreek Hill so like that's not a small feat either but yeah they get burned a couple times had some mental mistakes but in this first year in the NFL thrown into a starting lineup guys are going to make mistakes and he was a rookie so let's give the guy a little bit of Grace and um let's not act like guys can't have rough starts and still get better with time right so Kyle Hamilton had some rough starts and turned out to be the highest grade at safety by the end of the season because the Ravens kept getting him reps and Reps and he kept getting more confident and you know learning the defense Jalen armor Davis could be um on that same trajectory if he gets some more playing time I think he's got talent and I'm not saying that I want the Ravens to just put all their eggs in the jail and armor Davis basket but he is a guy that is talented that can play and then the Ravens just drafted Caillou blue Kelly Kavon Seymour has apparently made some plays um and uh there's some other guys in the roster that are fighting for roster spots so you know that's the three options sign a vet trade for a vet roll with the young guys I would prefer the Ravens to sign a veteran at least until Marlon Humphrey can you know get back out there on the field go for the long-term health of the season and having just an elite secondary I'd also love to see the Ravens be buyers at the trade deadline and added a legit starting caliber corner to pair up with Marlon Humphrey you know Kyle Hamilton and Marcus Williams back there in the secondary and you know Rocky's seen he's supposed to be back soon as well so let's not completely forget about Rocky scene you know he was banged up but he's not as close as Jail number Davis but he's close according to John Harbaugh one thing I gotta say about this cornerback issue that we're facing right now and maybe even some Edge depth and if there's any concerns about this defense I will say if this defense gives up points this team and this Weaponry that Lamar Jackson has is now more suited than ever for a shootout of a game right if we need to put up points we are more suited as an offense with this more passing friendly 11 personnel system that Todd monkin's trying to run in these weapons with Zay flowers Odell agalor Bateman you know these guys around Lamar Jackson to help him score points in a hurry right and you know talked about the running backs talk about the offensive line the offense might have to carry the Ravens through some games this year but that's part of the reason why Lamar Jackson was you know the highest paid quarterback in the NFL for a short stint but was and part of the reason why we added all these receivers is to be more balanced and to be able to score on the offensive side of the ball instead of just trying to lock guys up on defense at number four Lamar Jackson has a little bit of a down day after he had a nice day uh with against the Washington commanders in joint practices he pulls off a little bit and uh only went eight for 19 and 11 on 11. so I had some struggles with connecting to his receivers apparently overshot um a receiver under shot a receiver a couple times there was one that uh you know Odell Beckham Jr cleanly beats um Emmanuel Forbes got past him and then Lamar Jackson underthrew it but you know this is training camp this is practice these guys are still building chemistry Lamar Jackson had an off day it's not the end of the world but even with the rough day that the offense had the passing game had you know Lamar Jackson was still able to connect to Zay flowers for a touchdown connect with another ball to Odell Beckham Jr for a touchdown and like you saw the clip earlier with the Throne of Nelson Aguilar so even on an off day Lamar Jackson is still making plays um it's just not as good as we've seen over the earlier parts of training camp at number five Tariq black has another big day this is the this guy Tariq black Sean Ryan and Tyler Wallace are in a three-way race right now for wide receiver six by but I think I'd give the edge to Tylan Wallace right now because he's a recent draft pick I think he was a fourth round pick uh he can play special teams and he just caught a nice touchdown in the preseason and has made plays throughout camp but Tariq black has also made plays throughout Camp you know going against a guy like Emmanuel Forbes winning against a first round Talent type of draft pick uh to reflect consistently making plays all throughout camp and his name has been coming up even since early um off-season stuff like OTAs and mini camp Tariq black has been making a name for himself and giving the coaches and the executive something to think about when it comes to that wide receiver six spot it's not going to be an easy decision because all these guys are battling and making plays for the
