all right guys i'm going to be headed over to john's we're going to back up to the baylor get that thing hooked up and get going hopefully because it's starting to dry off it is one hot sunny day so that's good for hay though well i just got out and checked the grass hay and we're still we're at 11 which is good uh the there's a few clumps in it though that are like 25 30 uh so we might have to turn the windrows i hope not but it might just might be what we end up having to do so i'm gonna go over and get the failure hooked up and we'll make that decision closer to lunchtime [Music] [Music] okay i think everything is hooked up as far as the baler goes the monitor works that's all good now we took out the roll of net wrap last fall so mice couldn't get in underneath it and build a nest now we're gonna go ahead load a new roller wrap and get it fed all right so we got it going over here under here so so foreign all right it took me a little while but i've got everything on the baler hooked up all nice and neat i've got all the grease zerks gone over loaded to roll a net wrap set the height and the adjusted the wheels on the pickup so we're good to go i'm gonna go home and eat lunch and then i'm gonna start raking until it's ready to bail so guys i'm hoping to get uh some drone footage later uh once i teach dad how to use the baler maybe i'll get some drone footage that'll probably be later this afternoon right now it's right after lunch i'm gonna jump on the tractor and rake finish up the raking and then hopefully start bailing that's the hope anyways let's go see if it comes to fruition [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] it's 3 14. just finished raking i'm gonna jump in the kubota and start bailing the driest stuff there's only one field left that i'm going to try not to flip because it's a lot of alfalfa and i don't want to lose any more leaves than necessary but if it isn't ready to go by the time we get to it we will go ahead and flip it all right we're on our way out to the field now i think we're good to go we'll see [Music] i'm excited hopefully it's dry enough this morning when i checked uh dried the wet spots for 25 but most of the hay was 11 so we'll see but every once in a while there's just like a handful of green stuff that will dissipate into dry hay and veils so not a huge deal but you like to get as many clumps out as you can all right we're going to see what this hay is moisture 8.9 temperature 82 degrees ooh got a spot 27 and a half 20.4 holy cow 10.7 23.2 10.1 like there's a wet spot right there 20 and a half yep oh we like it to be under 18 so i think i'm gonna run up a couple more bales and see what those tests oh so i made a few bales in this field now i'm gonna go ahead and check the moisture again 20 it's a little bit high definitely turn the pressure up 10.1 that's what we're looking for right there [Music] eleven 13.5 12.6 90 degrees i'd say it's funny good it's obvious that it's really dry by the amount of dust rolling out of the baler uh means we're yeah we're probably losing a lot of protein but at the same time we gotta get it bale cause like always there's rain coming so plus that our dues are usually too heavy to be able to do long so i'll bring the moisture up too much and then if we wait till the dew's off then it's just drier than it was the day before so it's kind of a lose-lose i guess [Music] so [Music] [Music] so [Music] [Music] [Music] done [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] okay this first like nine acre field here we got 26 very heavy alfalfa bales off of so that was pretty good we're gonna head over the next one so we get there okay guys so i'm gonna call it quits for the and then i'm gonna finish bailing tomorrow before it rains because i've been probing the bales and they're right they're right at that 20 threshold the threshold where we're not comfortable bailing anymore and the winds quit now and we're getting due so i'm just calling it quits and going to do this tomorrow afternoon right before it rains so got 83 bales done today got a whole lot of raking done and probably got another 20 bales left out in this field so all in all i think we did pretty good these 83 bales out of this baler is like 130 or 40 out of our other balers that's good we're just putting equipment away real quick here and i guess that is all for uh today's video thank you so much for watching and i will see you all next time
