[Music] imperative merciful and compassionate father we confess our sins and we humbly come to you to find forgiveness and life we come to you in our need to seek your protection against the covet 19 virus that has disturbed and claimed many lives we ask you now to look upon us with love and by your healing hand dispel the fear of sickness and death restore our hope and strengthen our faith we pray that you guide the people to us to find cures for this disease and to stem its transmission bless our efforts to use the medicines developed to end the pandemic in our country we pray for health workers that they may minister to the sick with competence and compassion grant them health in mind and body strength in their commitment protection from the disease we pray for those afflicted may they be restored to health protect those who care for them grant its an arrest to those who have died give us the grace in this trying times to work for the good of all and to help those in need may our concern and compassion for each other see us through these crisis and lead us to conversion and holiness grant all these through our lord jesus christ your son who lives and reigns with you in the the faithful and even those who are not in the faith join this day of prayer and fasting for peace in ukraine dear sisters and brothers allow me to read to you the appeal of pope francis for peace in ukraine my heart aches greatly at the worsening situation in ukraine despite the diplomatic efforts of the last few weeks increasingly alarming scenarios are opening up like me many people all over the world are feeling anguished and concerned once again the peace of all is threatened by partisan interest i would like to appeal to those with political responsibility to examine their consciences seriously before god who is the god of peace and not of war who is the father of all not just of some who wants us to be brothers and not enemies i pray that all the parties involved refrain from any action that would cause even more suffering to the people destabilizing coexistence between nations and bringing international law into disrepute and now i would like to appeal to everyone believers and non-believers alike jesus taught us that the diabolical senselessness of violence is answered with god's weapons with prayer and fasting i invite everyone to make next or today march 2 ash
