Maria Shah and Maria Kyra Paulo this whinger Maria Shah from the UK wrote a lengthy post on a popular backpacker Facebook page about her disappointing 47 days in Australia saying her high expectations hadn't been met the young pom took aim at daft working conditions on Ozzy farms the cost of living constant rain and storms and restrictions on parking vans hang on did she say daft who says daft anymore girl you've been watching too many reruns of a love thy neighbour and aren't you being served she wrote that she bought a van to travel around Australia with her partner but the trip was hampered by parking restrictions as well as expensive groceries fuel and camping wait a minute 47 days to travel around Australia at a total length of approximately 14,500 kilometres which is about 9,000 miles it is the longest National Highway in the world surpassing the trans-siberian highway and the trans-canada highway it always amuses me when people say oh yeah I've been to Iceland or China it's like they work Columbus or cook discovering the wilderness when all they did was sit on a plane sipping cheap wine and eating plastic food awaiting their arrival in a very populated city around Australia - actually the pair had only travelled along Australia's East Coast from Cairns to Brisbane but had struggled to find work that's hardly around Australia that's only about 1683 point 8 kilometres now not to point out the obvious but my good buddy spook and I covered about 2,300 kilometers down the west coast of India in a rickshaw in 14 days so now Maria you said fuel was expensive I just did a comparison of UK versus Australia fuel prices and filling up my go-go 'mobile was around a dollar sixty per litre and in the UK it's around one pound 30 now with the current exchange rate of 1.8 for your one pound 30 would be equivalent to two dollars 95 ozzie dollars Maria said the farm jobs advertised are under the condition that you have to pay for accommodation to them which is usually shared rooms not to mention if we have a van why should we pay to work somewhere trying to earn money and bought the van to save money it's pretty daft if we have a van why should we pay to work somewhere I bet you are making this up as you go along she added that they struggled to meet new people have only stayed in one hostel so I guess haven't socialized too much either which I'm sure does have a big impact maybe it's cause we're a couple no maybe it's because you have only stayed in one hostel and you don't socialize much her sentiments were echoed later by Greek backpacker Mary kilulu who bagged our Australia for being such a waste of time Australia a waste of time in a sense deleted post MS Kyra Pulu wanted to know why she was made to work in bars and farms great girl this is Australia we don't make anyone work in bars and farms unless of course you applied for a position in a bar or a farm then yes we would have made you work that's part of the deal we employ you you work work it's a verb not a noun she accused locals of showing no appreciation towards foreigners can't wait to go back to you where university degrees are more important than a bunch of meaningless cards that require no intelligence to obtain no appreciation at all towards forints we all came here to become just waiters and farmers what didn't we oh my god didn't the Greeks invent everything we we gave the world everything everything that the world has today we invented everything we've given the world democracy sex language I'm just don't think what act and pap smears however the tourists comments were met with disdained by patriotic social media users who hit back in numbers if you don't like the place don't think something is wrong with you just leave and go somewhere else another road if you aren't enjoying yourself then you should probably leave or open your minds and enjoy the fact that you are on the other side of the world another chipped in by saying here's a plan change your attitude do a bit more research and go exploring and finally another Road I guess you can't please everyone so maybe a ticket home would be a better plan but there were some Ozzy such as Jasmine wall who chimed into the debate asking Ozzy's to rethink the way that they treat tourists in their country please treat foreigners in Australia with respect miss wall wrote they have worked hard to come here they are our guests be hospitable kind and decent give them a reason to come back you are representing Australia what do you want our relationship with the world to be like actually miss wall we don't want them to come back I need to speak with you hang on hello is that you miss wall no is mr. wall there no is mrs. wall there no now there are any walls in the house there's not well what's holding up the bloody roof what's bad don't ever do that again so what do you think about tourists entering your country and making demands like this pair of whiny Millennials next thing you know they will want to claim citizenship here g-man would suggest that this peg guard in North Korea Cambodia or Bhutan and tell me about their experience I would love to know about your experience to Australia but if you didn't sustained an injury we know you only visited Melbourne or Sydney you're soft as usual share this video with your friends and have them subscribe or troll that's more fun as a footnote this was a story sent to me from one of you lovely people or not so lovely people thank you if you have a story that you think I could mess up or you just want to give me some fashion tips hair advice or tell me how drinking is bad from the health then drop me a line now go away and tie me kangaroo down sport I'm cheer up Orton for the point TV she is Rudy [Music] [Music] [Music]
