Avoid This Common Error When Climbing The Buachaille

this is buul e of Moore one of the most famous mountains in Scotland and on the face you're looking at now there's a lot of rock and a lot of great climbing and scrambling routes and one of the scrambling routes in my opinion is probably one of the best days out in Scotland but sometimes people had to do this route and end up on a more difficult route just to the side due to Route finding difficulties including me but anyway here's me at the start of the day to explain more good morning it is 7:00 and I am at the ble if you can see that you might be able to see my van down there as well I've been up for a few hour me and Jerry are heading up The Bu not entirely sure which stre we're going to up it either be in my opinion one of the best scrambling rots uh in Scotland one of the best days you can have in Scotland or it'll be a route that people will often mistake for the former route I've just talked about and mistakenly go up it which I did in my first ever um attempted it and it can be quite a serious mistake cuz it's the other rout is a we bit harder than the first route but okay I'll give the game away the first route is curved Bridge the second route is something else uh I'll report later on we're not sure which one we're going to go up it'll be determined by the midges but uh yeah it's wonderful Jerry says I've got to get my camera ready for him arriving there's something happening or he's got something to show a big reveal or I don't know I I honestly don't know so yeah he's going to be up in about an hour time so I'm just going to go chill in the van and I'll bring you back when Jerry arrives what a morning look at this water morning indeed and Jerry soon arrived and his Defender and I think you actually need a defender or a high-rise vehicle to get down this uh this track beware if you're bringing a car down here cuz I did notice quite a few of them getting stuck anyway I soon I joined Jerry down at his car parking spot right as you can see I've now walked down to Jerry's uh Defender Jerry's just around there getting ready he show me with the big revealers wait till you see this this is this is the biggest news in a long time let's see if I can spin you around but I'll go down look at these lovely color trousers look at that yeah load truers so the story is you'll be getting a letter from my lawyer cuz I've bought the domain name to yellow breaks.com yellow truers Donnet so you you no longer own the trademark wait wait a minute come here come a bit closer look at this ZIP is even color coordinated it's yellow I told you mean you've got to raise your game away bit money this the game this is unbelievable unbelievable anyway shall we get going I think we're going to have to load up the bags Lo up the bags got some stuff get the heavy bags on after the groundbreaking Revelation that Jerry's joined the yellow bricks Brigade we saddled the bags and headed around the path and round to the Eastern side of the mountain which overlooks iranic Mo and you go past a feature called the water slab where the path kind of ends and it's that point where you start heading uh yeah heading up the mountain towards the roots you can see here I've done a we schematic it's not too far to walk and the path's pretty good until you get to the uh the point where the the water comes over that slab hence the name of it the water slab Stone and this is where we were there Jerry and then up here you can see I'll zoom in see ranic wall oops R there's my finger there Corp is there but you can see this here this is D but can't really see it I'll put some footage up of the you can see why from here people would perhaps think that was curved bridge if they it's quite easy to make make mistake but we're going to go for AR we're going to go for but get the wrong might end up on curved bridge by [Laughter] mistake he this is just gearing up at the bottom of De butress what let me spin you around and show you where we are what a place look at that but you know the cinder is that nice there something that's catching my eye even more I can't still can't believe that you've um You' copied me I didn't copy you money yeah I I thought i' um I think he copied me yell yellow helmet asers see as an endorsement all those years that I've taken slack and you see my yellow trousers all the while you SEC secretly lusting after a pair of yellow breaks it's shocking it's shocking anyway they make you climb better do they yeah wow so this will be a breeze you the back the seat cut cut the cheek money back cheek well enough of that nonsense about yellow BS but this is the intended Roo going up de butress then it cuts across onto curved rdge and then you can there's various ways you can get to the summit from there so we um we headed off Jerry headed off in his yellow TRS up some uh easy easy ground at this point s of scrambling but we put the rope in anyway I I needed the practice that was that was for sure and we headed up and yeah it was just a fabulous day is kind of heading up de watch quite good so far isn't it Jerry enjoying last was nice you got the we was scrambly stuff but it looks a bit sleeper further on so we'll bring you back in je F beautiful what a SP Hopey you can see this view behind us absolutely St The Rock was dry and in fact it was actually warm in places and there was a lovely warm breeze and didn't encounter one midgy the whole time because of that breeze which was fabulous but as you can see the situation any any of the roots around on this side of the book will just have this fantastic Viewpoint over the expanse of ranic Mo and then another way you can see up to ranic wall and cl like egag Groove and January jigsaw and all these sorts of things it really was lovely anyway before long we were reaching the top of De butus and looking across to curv bridge that was good fun wasn't it nice yeah yeah not finished yet either yeah so what happens we actually going to curved bridge now I think I said ear on some people get this mixed up for curridge but I think we join it just below the cooks don't we hopefully be below the good bit in curve rdge then we can get double double fun double fun so fun been good fun so uh yeah we black later I'm going to stop here and have a scotch egg what are you having well I'm saving a port pie for the summit I've got two Scotch eggs so I have one the sum I'm trying to cut back how did you find claiming with the yellow trer on I thought the yellow trousers were a game changer be perfectly honest yeah yeah I would have be nor my life exactly we could have we could have done um I don't know an E9 or something tonight had been on E9 E9 so we headed over to curved bridge and before long we were on the lovely polished rock that heads up to towards the Crux corner onge there's Jerry's lovely new trouser yeah and we're at the Crux move on yellow trousers in action yellow trouser in action and it's across corner of curved Bridge it's y Jerry making it look easy but that's only because he's got his yellow trouser on imagine how much harder it would be without your yellow trouser what grade are your yellow trousers my gr E10 right there he goes his hands and P at stuff with the yellow trousers on I just went for the E6 yellow trousers oh did you I didn't want to spend too much money you know yeah yeah that's true they are more expensive go up to E18 you know so on WE negotiated our way up the uh the corner we headed to the top of curv bridge and then yeah just ambled our way towards the summit of sto jard which is the highest point on bule Mo what a place this is here we are and just in between us is the summit of the that's a new that's a new somebody's been modifying approve appr what does get your approval definitely as I said to you that it's a lifechanging experience experience for me I'm a new man I think so you don't know it until you get some you actually got yeah they're they're special anyway we're going to head back down the Cory so we might report back there or we might report back back at the the Vans and it's beautiful day isn't it just just been kind ofing yeah bit too hot bit too hot for Jer just fineing well look at this view look at that we lightered for some time on the Sumit and just yeah just took it all in it really was quite pleasant but we soon had to descend back down towards the Cor you see that's black we're almost at the almost brid see the white footage behind us is it y yeah so sorry the audio is really really poor here so um yeah basically what I was saying was we were back down as you can see and it's the SMC the Scottish mountaineering Council lagging garve mountain hut that we just walked past but it really was a fabulous day we didn't have any midges um the trousers are great actually not only are they really really trendy they're not but um they do allow you to see things like ticks and you are really quite visible should anything happened to you anyway we were back down and it really was lovely uh dly butress is fine and you can understand why some people including me as I said at the start sometimes uh mistake it for
