Avoid the old British Airways Club World seat!

foreign airport to fly British Airways club World to London Heathrow there were dedicated check-in desks for business class [Music] the baggage allowance was two bags up to 32 kilos each the flight wasn't on an aircraft featuring the new club World Suite instead the Dreamliner had an old Club World seat after security and immigration the transit took you to the departure terminal thank you [Music] the terminal was spacious with plenty of shops the ba Lounge was located on the upper level it was fairly quiet when I arrived [Music] a range of breakfast items and drinks were available at the buffet [Music] foreign it was time to head to the gate the aircraft was departing from gate D21 the furthest from the lounge but this was only about a five minute walk away a section of the gate Lounge was reserved for first and business class passengers in groups one and two the flight was on a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft registration G zbkf it was seven years old foreign there was a bit of a delay boarding the aircraft with a queue forming on the air Bridge Club World seats were located across the front two cabins of the aircraft in a 2-3-2 configuration I was in the rear-facing window seat 11a was narrow with a width of 20 inches it reclined to form a flat bed 72 inches long a footstool folded down in front of the seat there was a storage locker at floor level in front of the seat and just above this a power adapter and USB port at shoulder level next to the seat was the controller for the entertainment system the table folded out in front of the seat [Music] the seat could be adjusted on a control panel beside the table pre-departure drinks of champagne juice or water were offered the entertainment screen folded out above the table a safety video was being played as we push back from the gate Archie shut up okay people as this way lovely weather for it today we will now demonstrate the safety features of this aircraft your attention is essential as this and never change we tax it from the gate across the Airfield to take off from the northern Runway 3-0 right wow [Music] foreign the flight time from Dubai to London was scheduled at 7 hours 50 minutes an amenity kit from the white company was provided it included socks and an eye mask earplugs creams and lip balm toothbrush and toothpaste and a pen a hot towel was offered shortly after takeoff a button closed the screen between my seat and the neighboring chair another button dimmed the windows noise canceling headphones were provided for the entertainment system [Music] the touchscreen wasn't very responsive and was slow when it did respond there was a collection of movies and TV shows [Music] [Music] [Music] despite being a fairly new aircraft Wi-Fi was not available on board [Music] a fair selection of drinks were available I started with a gin and tonic or had a choice of starter main course and dessert [Music] all right the meal was served through the hatch across the front of the passenger next to me good job we were traveling together [Music] I started with the chicken galatine it came with a mixed bean salad and a bread roll [Music] for drinks there was a choice of champagne two white wines and two red wines the starter was okay till I Found A Shard of hard plastic in it the other option of tomato soup might have been a better choice [Music] for main course I chose the mango and mustard marinated salmon this was pretty tasty [Music] another option was beetroot ravioli [Music] for dessert I chose the sticky date pudding with cremon glaze thank you this tasted better than it looked [Music] at the end of the meal service the tray was again handed across the neighboring passenger let me know what you think of the video in the comments below thank you cabins the bathrooms were compact but clean thank you back in the seat I folded down the footrest [Music] the seat reclined to form a flat bed a blanket and pillow were provided it was pretty narrow with my arm hanging down the side the length of the bed wasn't great with my feet touching the end the spotlight faded up above the seat oh between the cabins was the club pantry a small selection of snacks and drinks were available foreign for the second meal service which was afternoon tea again the tray was passed through the hatch with the tablecloth getting caught almost spilling the hot tea over me the meal comprised sandwiches cakes and a scone as meals go it was just okay [Music] [Music] foreign [Music] come on everything [Music] soon after the meal we started to prepare for landing [Music] the aircraft flew over Central London to land on the North Runway 2-7 right [Music] [Music] My overall impressions of this flight were not great the old seat was poor in comparison to the new club World Suite or business class seats offered on other airlines having food passed immediately across the passenger next to you wasn't ideal nor was having to step over the passenger in the road behind you to get out to the aisle the food service was disappointing particularly with a Shard of plastic in the starter The only positive about the food was the main course which was fairly tasty the service was polite but let down by the layout of the aircraft with the need to hand items across other passengers to access my seat before booking with ba in future I would recommend checking the aircraft type to ensure it has the new club World Suite as the old Club World seat is very disappointing [Music] let me know what you think of the review comment below like and share and don't forget
