we are just a few weeks away from the expected release of a new Avatar live action in 2010 we had an adaptation that faced pretty bad reviews but will Netflix's new version be able to exceed expectations so far we only have a trailer to judge in this video we'll break down 10 key aspects between the two live actions and find out which one stands out in each category which adaptation will win in each category and which will have more Pros than cons stay until the end of the video to find out before starting with the comparison it is important to keep in mind that all the information shared in this video is based on what we know so far we have not had a chance to see a single episode of the new Netflix series we only have the trailer details of the cast directors music and some other information as I always tell you on this channel the script has the power to elevate or sync any project regardless of its budget or cast for this reason for those who will see the new adaptation in the future in the cards you will find an update of this video comparing the movie with the complete series once it has been seen and analyzed by me now we'll just analyze what we know with those points in mind let's dive into this versus cast let's start with what we know about both and perhaps the most obvious the cast both versions have hits and misses at least physically with the characters but something very questioned of the 2010 version was the whitewashing and the people of the water tribe and the roasting of the Fire Nation I think the only one that is totally carbon copy of the series in the last air bender is the princess of the northern water tribe literally she is identical as for the Netflix one I'm in a tie between Suki iro and oai and my personal opinion of the best characters also in this last one although the culture of each nation is not respected to the letter it is much more accurate than in the other of course in this first encounter wins the Netflix version against the movie Fidelity to the original material according to interviews and rumors for the moment in the Netflix version we will have a few changes among them to see the extermination of the air Nomads which will probably be positive meet new characters like Suki's mother the introduction of kurak's dagger as a way to eliminate the spirits of the ocean and the moon we have an A being mined by Kyoshi each of these variations in the story can be positive or negative but that there will be changes there will be as this point is in doubt we will leave a neutral score on the series as for the movie The Story itself flowed at least in the main according to the original series there were a few minor details like Momo joining the team in a different way or instead of becoming a Megazord in making a huge wave to make the Fire Nation Retreat to the North Pole but if there were grotesque changes as the bending of which I speak in this video which was very negative as it took away much of the essence of the original animated series so the qualification in this case will also be neutral at least for now resulting in a tie that will be defined in the future when we can see the Netflix version which hopefully does not do the same stupidity scenarios and environments the scenarios in general look good in both adaptations a big difference we will have is that in the Netflix version many of them will be made in the volume that is filmed in front of a giant curved screen in 4k that simulates the background and lighting making inferion immersive experience in 2010 this technology did not exist so in general the structures were generated by computer and most of them were filmed in real locations for most of the movies I think in general at least from what we could see in both cases the sets look pretty good while the volume may put things in favor for the Netflix version spending a smaller budget as it does not require travel of the entire cast to different locations and having the huge advantage of being able to make a greater number of of changes of environment this can be dangerous if not used correctly in Ant-Man we saw a clear example of a bad use of this technology making the characters look out of the scene and unrealistic in order not to make the same mistake in Deadpool 3 for example many scenes are being done in real scenarios with practical effects so that things look more natural at the moment I think the sets in the trailer look extraordinary so for Netflix it will go a thumbs up and also for the movie giving us a tie in this r round creators involvement here we will have very divided opinions but I think it does not matter so much the participation of co-creators Brian coneto and Michael Dante D Martino in the Netflix adaptation the reason they were involved in the 2010 version which had absurd changes while they deserve respect praise and love for creating a masterpiece like avatar the Last air bender I feel that many times they don't make the best decisions perhaps due to lack of experience or Vision we saw this several times even many of the decisions that built avatar the Last air bender and the legend of Kora were from other people like Walkin do Santos who intervened to make changes according to rumors the departure of the Netflix project was because they wanted to make even more changes while this is a rumor it may be true since they had a say in the 2010 version making and or allowing huge changes honestly I'm not that concerned about them not being there so we'll leave on neutral rating and for the 2010 adaptation I'm going to give them a neutral as well for having participated and allowing them to do what they did to that poor story Leaving the benefit of the doubt because honestly we don't know how much control they had during the filming and assuming they saw the changes but couldn't do anything and hopefully that was the case otherwise lucky they don't participate in the Netflix one budget the budget for the last air bender was $150 million for 2010 which in 2020 money would be $178 million adjusted for inflation for the Netflix adaptation we have an estimate of$ 15 million per episode which gives us a total of 120 million here we are in a dilemma for the movie that money was earmarked for 102 minutes of film but for the series we would have eight chapters of almost 1 hour in other words to give us a clear idea in the movie they spent $1,745 N8 per minute but in the series only $250,000 per minute depending on how this money is administered will be the results but it is almost predictable that the overall quality will be a little bit lower in the series this tends to happen in general between these two types of content and it is noticeable at a glance if we compare a Marvel series for example with a movie of the same franchise or the episodes of of Dragon Ball Z or Pokémon with respect to their movies the quality is immensely higher in the films because the time is compressed a lot the winner in this round is the 2010 adaptation special effects to this day the special effects of the last air bender are horrendous for the most part I find them to be mostly lousy but to my surprise I found that for many it was the only redeemable thing about the movie this is just Personal Taste I just don't love the way they look with some exceptions like the incredible and imposing wave we see at the end but in general they don't fascinate me let's also consider that we have 13 years of difference between one project and another technology advances practically every day and things that cost a few minutes today used to cost hours and hours before so you have to give them credit on the other hand the effects that were seen in the trailer look well done maybe the fall of in from the sky looks a little false or wait according to rumors this would not be a but Koshi well let's leave that for another video but overall the special effects look nice again leaving the benefit of the doubt to what we will see during the series let's do another tie just for the fact of the 13 years difference in the little content we have to compare one with the other Series so we have another tie here for now we have a tie between both adaptations with four ties and a victory for each one which one do you think will win in the remaining four points leave it in the comments and if you like this type of content do not forget to leave your like And subscribe with which you help a lot to the channel to continue growing and can be more and more videos that you can see here per week now let's continue direction as for the direction of the film we have M Knight who has been nominated for Oscar awards although not winner and has been quite successful in films such as Sixth Sense unbreakable signs and the trilogy of split in in the other Corner we have four directors who will be in charge of two episodes each but the shunner who would be in the general direction leading the course of the project will be Albert Kim who for now participated as a riter in dirt leverage as well as producer for Nikita and shunner for Sleepy Hollow if we compare the careers of both and what each one specializes in this round we have someone more skilled and what would be the 2010 movie so we have an extra point for his version of Avatar reception and criticism we still do not have 100% defined how well-received is or is not the Netflix live action basically because the series has not yet been released but for the glimpses of the trailer and the images that we were shown in general the opinions are quite positive I think for this point we could compare only the trailers of both adaptations because if we see the comments on YouTube of the trailer of The Last air bender in general are positive and with much expectation but to see the movie The reception was peal both from critics and fans for a huge amount of people the fact that this movie came out was a total and complete mistake on the other hand in the Netflix adaptation is depositing a lot of Hope but also a lot of pressure not to make the same mistakes so unfortunately we cannot say that the reception for this new adaptation is positive because in both hopes were kept the movie when it came out disappointed in general but the Netflix when we still did not see although for me I would put Netflix as the winner in this encounter to be fair we have to leave it in another tie until we can see the series cumes of the characters here we have another point of controversy many people say that in the Netflix adaptation they look like simple cosplays but if we go with Fidelity they are an exact copy of the animated series on the other hand while the costumes of the 2010 movie are not bad I think the changes in the more Hindu version of the Fire Nation completely changed the face of what we saw in the original version while this can be judged by Personal Taste I think if we did a channel poll most of you would agree that the ones in the new Netflix adaptation despite perhaps looking like cosplays are excellent the details are incredible the look of each character makes it look very similar to the original series if we compare these two fir Lords these two iro or these two in I'm sure most would agree that they look much more faithful to the original version those of the Netflix adaptation so it's the wi of this Annie uto round for now we are in a tie between both adaptations so this last Point defines who will be the winner at least for the information and the glimpses we had for now if you are liking the video don't forget to like it and leave me in comments who you think will be the winner music and soundtrack well the music in the 2010 adaptation was not the best but it was a great extra for the film giving it emotion in the moments that were needed especially in the last scene it almost makes one manage to connect with that a who is blocked from doing water bending with a Fire Nation on the shores of the North Pole and having to overcome his internal problem of not wanting to be the Avatar but when we hear this I think we know who the clear winner is the Netflix adaptation will use remastered and re-recorded songs with real instruments from the original version which will give it a special touch because the music of the series was incredible and unique this time we will be able to listen to it in a better definition with new characters but with the same Essence and the same original composer so this last round is won by Netflix becoming the winner between these two adaptations by just one point before making this video I thought that the Netflix version was going to be superior in almost everything but if we weigh things up there are many in which the 2010 version had a lot lot of advantage of course there are also details that we cannot judge until we see the series but in general I think they will do it better this time of course after February 22nd I will do another comparison between the two to see the final result this is just a preliminary people I hope you like this video I'll see you next week bye
