closer to taking industrial action with a mass meeting in Melbourne next week to protest the bra government's pay offer officers met in Wanger and wonger today to discuss the offer at Wonga police station this afternoon the message from the officers on the ground was clear Premier bra's offer of a 3.25% a year pay rise isn't good enough that uh doesn't take account of uh ever increasing workloads that the uh the members uh are feeling uh increased work pressures uh the the the nature of their thankless role Police Association Representatives say the package offered by the bra government would see local police $500 a month worse off than their Interstate colleagues Mr lafaro says officers in Wonga won't earn the same as their auy counterparts until 2009 a mass meeting of police will be held in Melbourne next Friday but the association says local communities won't suffer whilst we're expecting a healthy attendance from the Northeast uh there still will be a um uh an adequate uh uh contingent of police uh providing the day-to-day service that the community expects of them if the government doesn't come back to the negotiating Table after next Friday's meeting the
