AUDI S8 PLUS *315km/h* // REVIEW on AUTOBAHN

what's up ladies and gentlemen and welcome to this POV review by autotop Andel my name is Max and today we've got a familiar face well the owner is a familiar face this is Pine's new car and you might remember papine he has been with us with a few cars uh he started out with an m135i he then had a m140i with like 600 horsepower he had a tuned x5m which we drove as well an RS6 C7 in almost the same spec as this car is a crazy x3m and of course the ring caddy which we drove twice with the diesel engine that is just one of the most fun cars we've done uh in recent years so the man buys a lot of cars and then he mods them and he always brings them to us which I really like so today we've got this Audi S8 plus which you don't see that often this is a sort of RS8 S8 basically it's also built at the Audi Sport Factory and not at the regular Audi plant so it's basically an RS8 without calling it that and that makes it really cool so this car in black and pine blacked everything out so we've got a black grill the black front bumper I'm I'm surprised that the Audi logo and the S8 badge are still in Chrome though and then we've got these black wheels as well these are the S8 plus Wheels 21 in with 275 tires at the front Mitchell Pilot Sport 4S and then we've got beautiful carbon Ceramics really really nice to have on this two-ton car uh and papine also painted these brake calipers to match his interior but these brakes are really nice the S8 plus gets a retuned adaptive air suspension V8 T badge we do have the aluminium mirrors which I really like they don't do that anymore but I think it looks so cool and you can see that papine also installed this tint on his front window which I don't know I'm not the biggest fan of it's it's really really blue and you can see it from the inside as well it's a bit distracting so I'm not a big fan of that uh we've got black window surrounds privacy glass I mean it is a very black car this black exhaust tips as well and an S8 badge there but it is such a nice car the S8 really really cool and this interior spec is just gorgeous as well so we've got an Alcantara steering wheel with an S8 badge really nice and thin Rim uh which I quite like and then this gorgeous like light brownish coffee mocha interior super nice suede on the doors with carbon fiber bang and oliv and speakers with the tweeters that come out of the dashboard if you turn them on and of course we've got some Carbon on the dash with a little bit of a red weave in there which I think is specific to the S8 plus you also get the uh power steering retuned for the S8 plus and well of course the power increase so 4 L V8 by Turbo standard S8 520 horsepower but the S8 plus gains 85 horsepower for a total of 605 with 750 newm in over boost so it's a very powerful card it's the same as an RS6 performance and well the performance is very similar to the RS6 c8s and well it it is just a very very impressive car it's very fast and we were wondering you know is that just software and then I found out that they built them on the Audi Sport plant so I I so we thought now it's it's got to be Hardware as well turns out you also get different exhaust valves you get of course reworked software for Boost charge and the inner geometry of the turbocharger is different as well compared to the S8 now I I saw a lot of different stuff on the internet uh I also saw that some people thought that the S8 has its own like turbo setup or Turbo housing and that the S8 plus shares it with the RS7 some say it's similar to like S7 RS7 but this is what I think came from Audi so uh just the the inner geometry of the turbocharger is different compared to an S8 where it comes from I don't know but it has the same power compared to an RS7 performance so you would think it has something to do with that anyway uh it's gold a little power and it is very fast interior-wise one of my favorite Audi Interiors it really is it's so beautiful gorgeous suede on the roof as well this headliner with a mosquito go be free and the dash itself is gorgeous the design uh you can actually get rid of the screen because that is the only thing that I don't really like uh it's a bit you know it's a bit outdated you don't have that much uh info on the on the system and um yeah it's just not not the greatest so you just get rid of that which is great and then you've got well probably the most beautiful speedometer or dial cluster instrument cluster Audi has ever made I really really like that it is so clean I love the way the gauges have been like tilted and then you have the digital screen in the middle there it's just so good oh I missed that so much this is just a work of art and it it is a way to set yourself apart from other brands and nowadays you have screens everywhere and everything looks the same and everything is stupid I hate it and I miss this this is beautiful okay so that was the Grandpa Max miss the old days segment of this review now let's start with the sound part because this car also has a midpipe it is a very very good mold you keep the stock down pipe you keep the stock back box and you just have a midpipe that completely transforms the sound of the car so lovely startup there now if we go to neutral and then we need the screen so we go to comfort woo [Music] very very angry sound and if we go to Dynamic we should be able to get some more yeah you can hear the valve [Music] opening oh that Rev sounds amazing as well but you have this like super dark sound little bit of a crackle and then when you close the doors you don't actually have that much you hear that it's a lot louder than stock but it's not annoying it's not droney it's just the perfect exhaust mod for this car really like that okay so let's go for a drive driving wise it's actually a pretty capable car but B also installed an air suspension module that lowers the ride height in all modes so that means that dynamically speaking you have a bit more of a level [Music] car oh that sounds so good it's such a dark [Music] sound oh man that is lovely and it it doesn't have that like tin can sound you sometimes have with RS6 c7s uh with a different exhaust or down pipes decad stuff like that it it it Remains the S8 it Remains the same thing it just livens up the exhaust a bit because stock they are very quiet so I can imagine that you would want you know to have a little bit more so you do hear the the Crackle on the downshift but it is fast Corners also does that really well I mean there's not you know that much feel or feedback but it just goes where you expect it to go it's a natural feeling uh system a lot better than our sq7 which was just hilariously overweighted and the 8-speed gearbox also responds pretty well such a nice car I do love an S8 and this S8 plus just really really brings it up to the next level because it's a big difference 520 or 65 oh it's windy today just so much traction as well I actually I just I just figured out I really prefer an S8 to an RS6 or RS7 I think it's been a while since we've driven one of these and I really like this so onto the autoban which of course is this car's natural habitat that is what this car has been built for just munching up the miles but before we hit the ultan let me show you petrol Vibes these things you've seen them before on our Channel we absolutely love them we've got them here in the workshop we've got them in the Sim room upstairs as well this is the Ford GT as you can see we have it against this wooden wall now so you have a different effect compared to the wo upstairs but these things are amazing the design is great they are laser cut from steel and you can have a custom design of your own car as well which is Mega they also now have different versions available so they have a neon one which is back lit looks super cool they have a standing one which is a bit smaller for your desk or something like that they also have a frame with different angles and for some car also has the driver's pack Dynamic pack whatever it's called Uh which means that the top speed goes from 250 to 35 km an hour which you need you need that package because this car just does 250 so easily as you can see we're there already it just pulls so hard and it doesn't really stop pulling and as you can hear that exhaust it's not even that loud or noticeable I'm in Dynamic mode everything is open but you have a nice V8 soundtrack but it's not that crazy which I really like I think this is a really good setup he's pushing is 330d so that's 290 Ceramics oh they are always there that is just lovely you really need those on a on a heavy car like this on the automat so of course we also measured the 100 to 200 kmph performance and we did around 8 seconds which is very very impressive it's even more impressive when you think that the RS6 C8 we tested also with 600 horsepower did 8.77 so it's it's quite a bit faster than that RS6 I think this is a bit lighter but I mean that that is way too big of a difference honestly that RS6 C8 never Seas to disappoint performance- wise uh it's even beaten by its well you would expect this car to be slower right this like 8 A8 limousine thing that's just about Comfort it's not even an RS car and it beats the new RS6 but I guess that's also down to all the new EU regulations and OPF and stuff like that it's actually pretty neutral I mean I think it's also a bit less under steery than an RS6 [Music] it's not bad and it picks up so well it's so effortless man so let's see if we get some space on this side it's quite busy today but you don't need that much much space to get close to the 300 kmph mark that air suspension really soaks everything up that is impressive so shift at 290 and we're getting close to the top speed now man it keeps going 315 these cars are a bit too close together but uh I thought it was limited at 305 but it seems to keep going because that was 315 like it was nothing and that is what I mean when I say the performance is so effortless it's it's it's like it's not even straining itself to do this it's what it likes to do amazing car Bine you've bought an amazing car again uh I'm curious to see if you
