years ago to make the team I think it's going to be fast and I think it's going to be very very eventful I don't think we've mentioned number one on the inside there Ally Wilson I was thinking the same thing there's so many great contenders in this race Ally Wilson looked phenomenal yesterday as she controlled her semi-final down goes a Thing mo a Thing mo is on the ground I know you talk about this all the time we fear when she's in the middle of the pack that because of her long loping stride that she may fall to the track it has never happened before and UT when she would dread it happening it happened today I just said I thought we would have an eventful Race 3 seconds later this happens oh my goodness can she catch the pack well she's doing it pretty quickly they're coming by us with one lap to go there's still plenty of space there can a Thing mo catch the pack and get up to the top three that's Michaela Rose out front who likes to run from the front Mia Akin's right behind her and a thing Mo's going to have a lot of work to do gang oh my goodness so Michaela Rose continues to lead you see a Thing mo there it's it's just too much to make up a Thing mo is going to miss the Olympic Games as Nia Ain now with just over 200 M to run gets into the lead ahead of Rose Michaela Rose and then you've got Juliet Whitaker ahead of Ally Wilson Raven Rogers is falling back it's going to be too far and too much to make up for Raven Rogers as well look at Nia the 25-year-old from California is streaking away here comes Whitaker and then Michaela Rose Ali Wilson pulls out of the draft she's trying to make up and she does but it's Nia aens who will win the national title and the Olympic trials what an eventful 800 final and spare a thought for a Thing mo that's why they call trials so [Applause] it has been such a long time to come back and then to lose the opportunity with a fall Spar thought for her that's heartbreaking so much effort so much time the trials involveed very often Agony of defeat moments I don't think we will have another one at these trials greater than what a Thing mo just went through but the three women across the line are going to the Olympic Games Nia Akin on her very first team Ali Wilson on her first team and she got the standard in the final and Juliet Whitaker on her first team I don't know why for the entire day I have I felt very strongly that this race was going to be just drama and Chaos I couldn't have predicted this though no AR Wilson no Raven Rogers no a Thing mo this feels very different and this is what happened to a thing oh and of course if you were with us 3 years ago something similar to this almost happened 3 years ago in almost the same place look at the reaction of her family there's her dad and her siblings but meanwhile celebrate for Nia Akens and for Juliet Whitaker and for Ally Wilson three first timers heading to their Olympic Summer Games still a bit speechless but I did mention before the gun that Nia aens had extra motivation last year she was here she was the one who hit the track she was the one who was ninth in the field and so for her this is such an amazing moment also for Ally Wilson who's had a dream season but no one wants to see this A Thing mo who has all the talents in the work who has dealt with injury this season to not have the opportunity because of a fall to at least get to the Finish Line giving her very best effort is one of the hardest pills to swallow as an athlete but what a beautiful moment for these ladies right here and let's hear from them there they are confirmation near Akens Ali Wilson and Juliet Whitaker Lewis they're going to experience the Olympic spirit for the very first time they are and everyone here is in disbelief hugs and tears and just wow Nia you took the lead up that home straight away just tell us what it felt like being so strong coming home and hearing the cheers to this crowd knowing you're going to be an Olympian I know I wasn't thinking about any of that I was just running um yeah gosh I can't believe I think I was telling Alie I Think We're Dreaming but yeah it's 100 some speechless Ally lots of hugs for you and just looks to be disbelief tell us what's on your mind I am so confused right now I knew I had a chance but I knew like how given the depth of 800 in this country like it was no not going to be a small feat to make this team and I honestly feel like Nia paved the way for a lot of us last year improving like that you can step up on this uh at this level at this meet and and really do big things and I've been admiring her ever since and to make that team with her and her is so amazing and I'm I'm honored and Juliet you'll be to Paris with these two what does that mean to you you're going to be an Olympian for life it means so much obviously like growing up in the sport or just sport in general like the Pinnacle is to make it to the Olympics um but I feel like it never felt real until this year I really was like you know maybe I can actually do it and it's just an honor I've looked up to these ladies and everyone in the field for pretty much my whole running career so to be on this team with them it's just like an honor all right ladies you did it and we'll see you in Paris as well thank you h
