hello and thank you for joining us today Scot Smith here with Aspen avionics we're gonna be talking about the e5 and some new features we've added so sit back relax and enjoy the ride one of the first things you're going to notice on our new e5 is the bright screen direct sunlight has no effect on it and neither does the viewing angle you can view it from all angles you have your six pack here as well with airspeed attitude altimeter HSI you also have heading bug and course notice the large font size on your altimeter and airspeed tapes also notice that on your attitude indicator you have a line every two and a half degrees instead of every five like on a traditional attitude indicator this makes it easy to make small pitch adjustments for precision flying these speeds are labeled on your airspeed tape making it easy to decipher where V X V Y V le and the like are located [Music] the other new feature you're going to notice is the standard looking HSI with the nav needle and your CDI bar also note your track bug which is your diamond in this case located about a 275-degree track that gives you what you're tracking across the ground the set of headings simply twist the right hand knob notice the breadcrumb trail going out to your heading bug and the heading turns magenta making it easy to decipher what you've selected to set an altitude alerter simply press in on the lower right hand knob twice dial in whatever altitude you want to go to notice that it turns magenta and gets about three times larger in font size let's take a look at some other features at the top part of the screen you'll notice we give you ground speed just for the right of that is Barrow below that we give you the heading of the aircraft to the right of that is course and to the left of that is what the heading bug is currently set to if you come over the right-hand side of the screen and down you'll notice labels by the three bottom soft keys which include your view which is either arc or 360 GPSS for roll steering and Barrow your turn rate indicator is located on the heading as you turn it comes out and displays a bar that bar gives you half standard or standard rate turn your slip and skin indicator is located at the top of the screen right underneath the triangle simply press on the pedals left and right to keep it centered and the aircraft coordinated look in the upper left hand corner of the screen it says 125 KT so that's 125 knots that speed is a bug that is used for the pilots reference and the way you set that is pressing on the left hand knob twice pushing on it twice it's going to turn magenta and then you dial in whatever airspeed you want to use as a reference let's talk about shooting approaches for a minute the e5 is IFR certified and one of the best features about this product is when you're shooting an approach everything you need is in the top part of the screen you've got your airspeed attitude altimeter and notice the glide slope and localizer needles are on the top part of the screen as well so when you're shooting the approach all of your pertinent information is located right in front of you in the top part of the screen and last but certainly not least no backup attitude indicator required that means you can pull out your vacuum system pull out your old attitude indicator put an e5 in replace your DG your HSI and you've gained a lot of bang for your buck thanks for joining us today we sure appreciate your time if you have further questions visit our website at Aspen avionics comm or pick up the phone and give us a call we'd love to hear from you thanks again have a great day [Music] [Music] [Music] you
