Hello, Fern. And welcome everyone to Fern's holistic ASMR. You may have noticed that today Fern is sitting in the treatment chair. We thought it would be a lovely April fool present for you all to have things just go a bit backwards and topsy-turvy and to have me try and give a relaxing treatment today and say "Fern is here" sitting in the treatment chair and just hope she can take this time for herself because she thoroughly deserves it. So relaxing self-care. Now I'm not going to be doing any sort of special treatment in particular today. I'm just going to focus on those sensory feelings that help us relax and make us focus in on them, allowing us to relax and empty our minds of any clutter or stress from the day. One of my favorite sensations here, just running my hands through your hair. I know how lovely that feels. Sometimes the really, really simple sensations like someone running their fingers through your hair and will make us relax the most. And you do have lovely, lovely hair. So first of all, I'm just going to get a brush to help me glide my fingers through it better. I've started the tips that don't want to cause you any pain. But just while we go through this treatment, I want you to think about how with relaxation like this, you just let yourself float away into it. Don't get lost in your thoughts of things that you need to do or any stresses from the day. Just think about how you are so deserving of this time for yourself. This time for self-care. Especially as you so often give it to others. Just being really, really gentle there with that brush. Just making sure we get all the strands. But it's already getting lovely and smooth to glide the brush through. Sometimes just that feeling of the tingles in your scalp area. It's just really nice with the brush when you focus on it. So encourage the blood flow to the area. Also just sending your thoughts to your lovely scalp. Because it doesn't always get the most attention in our busy, busy lives. That's wonderful. Lovely, lovely hair. So as today, the main focus is sensory treatments. We're also going to include a sense of smell. And I know just how much we love our over oils. So I've got a blend pre-prepared today that we made off camera. I'm just going to put that oil diffuser behind me so them room will really, really smell like a lovely blend of aroma oils. So let me just remind you of which ones we've picked. I've got all of my oils here in a little box. So first of all, clean your lung and lung. Now I'm just searching for rosemary. And I know that is one of Fern's favorite oils. So hopefully it's a lovely treat for her. And then finally we've got tea tree here. So just before I put the blend into the aroma diffuser, I'm just going to let you smell them each. So this is your Langolan. Oh, that's lovely. Isn't it just? And I feel like aroma oils, they're smells, but they each conjure different colors in the mind and different emotions and feelings. They're such a powerful thing to use for inducing relaxation. This is rosemary. Oh, I can already smell that with the lid off. That's lovely. Yeah, I thought that might be your favorite. Takes me back to the garden, sitting in the garden in the summer. And then finally we've got tea tree, just one of my favorites. Just going to smell as well. Oh, it's just divine. There you go. Lovely. It's lovely, isn't it? Reminds me of doing skincare. Lots of tea tree. Takes me back to lots of self-care moments. Mm, it's a lovely oils. It is. So we've got the blend here. And then this is just the smell of the blended version. Oh, that works well. Yeah, you really get the... It's the ylang ylang. Can you smell that first? Yeah, it's a lovely blend. I think they're almost better together. They're all great alone. Yeah. Once they work together, it's almost... Can you give it another smell? Of course. That's nice. Really is nice. I'm going to put that into the diffuser for you. So just pour that out. And that should slowly seep into the room. And just engage another one of those senses for you. So we've got touch here. We've done a bit of attention to the scalp and hair. And just that gentle touch is hopefully sending you drifting. Now we've engaged the sense of smell. Next, I'd quite like to focus on sound if that's okay with you. So sound healing is something I've experienced before. In a treatment. But it's my first time actually giving it to someone, so you'll have to bear with me. But I think regardless of any claims it might have, and some people really, really believe it can do all sorts. But in my personal opinion, I think today the most important thing is that just having that extra layer of sensation to this treatment is what I think it can provide. And not just sound, but when you hit the tuning fork, I'll place it on places around you. And you'll feel a very slight vibration, which hopefully will also kind of send your attention to that spot. And again, almost peel you away from any negative thoughts in your head. So just focus on the sound and let it relax you and help you focus on one thing only. [silence] [bell ringing] [silence] [bell ringing] [silence] So this tuning fork is the 512 hertz. It's unweighted. And with this one supposedly, it helps to unlock, heal, and balance the heart chakra. The sound is also just very, very relaxing to tune into. And I hope it's helping with some of that stress you've been feeling recently. [silence] So next we have the 256 hertz. See how this one sounds? It's a lot deeper. You can hear that. This one's weighted, unlike the one we just heard. [silence] I always find it fascinating how you can feel those vibrations. [silence] And supposedly this one helps with the root chakra to help you when you need to feel grounded. [silence] And lastly, we have the 128 hertz. [silence] I can really feel that vibrating. [silence] Place that one either. Apparently this one's great for stress relief. But to be honest with all of them, I just think having that extra layer of something to the treatment is always a bit of fun. [silence] So I hope that is relaxing. Now, I've been learning a bit more about ASMR and sort of what the world that comes with that recently. I thought I would add a step, which is one of the popular triggers in the ASMR community, which is brushes. So it's got a makeup brush here. I just want you to focus on the sensations of the brush. [silence] Just having our senses reduced to that tiny, tiny place on our body can really, really help us relax. I especially love it on the hairline. I think it's sometimes almost nicer than fingers, just having that feather-like sensation there. [silence] Just brushing lightly against the skin. Now, you're welcome to fall asleep if you'd like to. [silence] Such a tool we wouldn't expect to be used in any sort of real world massage appointments we're going to, but it is such a fascinating sensation. And I think treatments that incorporate more ASMR elements will hopefully become more and more mainstream as people understand the benefits and just how blissful it feels. I think not just tools such as brushes, but even the power of voice has yet to be fully incorporated into the modern-day beauty treatments. And I personally love just relaxing and falling asleep to the kind of melodic sound of someone's voice and the calm, personal attention they offer. [silence] Right. So, just to finish our sensations today, I'm going to do a few little head massage techniques. And hopefully, that should just get rid of any tension that might be lingering in your scalp. But I can already just hear how deep your breaths have gotten, how you're truly, truly relaxing and taking that much deserved time for yourself. And so, just for a moment, I want you to just think about all the things you're so happy and grateful for. And then, I want you to think about all the things you love yourself for and just send a wonderful relaxation and love towards yourself. And while you're doing that, I'm just going to rest your head on my palm there because the head is very, very heavy. You just need to support it. I'm going to use my palm here just to get any tension away from the ear area. So, this part of our head just behind the ears, especially if you grind your teeth at night. Or even during the day, we can often grind our teeth or just clench our jaw during the day as well without even realizing, because we've forgotten what it's like to not be clenching it. Sometimes, stress and those sorts of heavy emotions, that baggage we might carry around with us. We're so used to carrying the baggage that we don't know what it felt like in the first place to not be carrying it. But this area here is perfect for any of that sort of jaw tension just behind the ear. I'm just going to repeat that on the other side, being very, very gentle, leaning your head across. And this area behind the ears can be very, very sensitive, so we just need to be gentle, especially if there's a constellation of pressure points behind here. So, just being very, very gentle. And gently going up, right? Just give the ears a bit of love as well while we're in the area. Such a thing that we never do for each other, but massaging the ears is so relaxing and so, so good for blood flow to the area. So funny when we think of tension, there's so many places we can have tension that we just don't expect, like behind the ears, for instance, or the ears themselves. One thing I've noticed more recently is that a lot of the shoulder tension can actually be coming up from right in the neck, because it's all linked together. Sometimes dispersing that tension in one completely unrelated place can really help somewhere else in the body. And just to finish, I'm going to do one of first's favourite moves, and I think some of the viewers love this move as well, so I'm just going to do some light finger tapping all over the scalp. And that should just feel like a waterfall of touch and soft sensation to the scalp. Just all over. Wonderful. And now I can really hear that your breaths have grown deeper and softer, which is wonderful. That's what we want to see with relaxation. I'm just going to ask you to join me for one deep breath at the end of the session, and just please, if you may, imbue that breath with love and gratitude. So one free, one deep breath in for a few seconds, and then out, just in line with your own breaths, however long you feel is right. And when you do breathe out, just feel your shoulders sink to the floor and let all that tension go. I want three. I'm going to do it with you too. One, two, three. Breathe in and out, letting it all go. Throw all that tension to the floor. Just brush any tension or negative emotions off you. Sometimes the sorts of more out there things can just feel really good visually to help your mind in your mental state get rid of those emotions. So hopefully you enjoyed that. That was lovely. It was nice to be treated. It was fun giving it too. Thank you. I hope that was a wonderful 844's present to everyone. Thank you. Thank you. [BLANK_AUDIO]
