Hi everyone, I'm Taylor, and today we'll be
discussing numbers 11 through 20 in ASL. Just like numbers 0 through 10, numbers 11
through 20 can all be formed using one hand. So get your dominant hand ready.
Do a couple of wrist stretches, and let's start signing. As I sign each number, I want
you to sign along with me. To sign 11 in ASL, you're going to flick your pointer
finger up like this, 11. For number 12, you're going to flick your pointer finger
and middle finger up together, like this, 12. For number 13, you're going to take your
ASL number 3, close these two fingers, and fold them into your palm. Almost like you're
telling someone to come here. 13. Number 14 is the same movement as 13, but instead of a closed
3, you're going to do it with a closed 4. 14. For number 15, you're going to form a closed
5 and do the same movement as 13 and 14. 15. Nice job! Let's review numbers 11 through 15
again. 11, 12, 13, 14, 15. Perfect! Okay, for numbers 16 through 19 you'll need to utilize your
ASL skills from the previous numbers lesson. The movement for 16 through 19 can be a little tricky
at first, but it's the same for each number. For number 16, you're going to start with your 10
hand shape, and then twist into 6, like this. If that seems confusing, just think of it
like you're adding 10 and 6 together. 10 plus 6 equals what? 16. Another acceptable
movement you might see for numbers 16-19 is this, where you shake the number instead of twisting
from 10. Both movements are correct; however, the twist from 10 is the form you'll
see most often. So again, number 16. For number 17, start with your 10 hand
shape again, but now you'll twist into 7. 17. For number 18, start with your
10 hand shape again, and twist to 8. 18. For number 19, start with that
10 hand shape, and twist into 9. 19. For number 20, take your thumb and pointer
finger and tap them together like this. 20. Very good! Let's practice those
together one more time. 16, 17, 18, 19, 20. Great! Now it's time to put it all together,
starting with 11. Ready? 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20. Excellent! Time for one
more review, but this time I'm going to sign the numbers in random order, and I want you to guess
out loud what each number is. Ready? Let's begin! Wow, I'm very impressed! Now you know
