Ashanti's Make-A-Wish Surprise

we talk a lot on the show about our fans and how much they mean to us from the tiniest social media shoutouts to the massively heartfelt moments so we want to share the moments that have impacted us in our lives Ashanti we hear that there was a special make-a-wish moment for you years ago yeah it was such an amazing humbling experience I had a girl named Christina reach out and they told me she was terminally ill she was suffering from cancer and she lost all her hair and she just wanted to meet me I was like oh my gosh that's amazing to be someone's last wish oh so my mom and I flew out she lived in Seattle we flew out we rented this huge hotel suite for her and her mom and her best friend we got a limo and went to her house surprised her we ate dinner I bought her this awesome cute Tiffany's bracelet I had a mean braid like that and I hung out with her like for the whole day and she was like asking me questions I was asking her like how school and it was just such a surreal feeling to just feel like I touched someone that I didn't even know you know what I mean so that happened we made a whole book they put on the news and all that stuff that was all great literally maybe two years ago which makes it 10 years from that time what she reached out to me on Twitter and she's like oh my gosh Ashanti I just want to say I've been in remission my hair [Applause] at that moment you know [Music] [Applause] oh my god how are you I'm so good [Applause] Christine I have to ask you why did you make a Shanthi your make-a-wish okay I'm sorry I picked her because during the time I owned not only was going through the cancer and the surgery but it was very hard to be you know alone and you're just going through that alone sometimes in the hospital you just don't get you know visitors every day so I would just turn on my tunes and she is Alyssa when I looked up to like how are you feeling how's life like what's going on with you it's a 180 really I mean just a few years ago just recently my life's changed around even more I mean I'm done with school I'm shocked I'm sneaking oh yeah I'm intake yeah we heard about this gorgeous bracelet that Ashanti gave you can we see tell me why oh he's special to you this bracelet is special to me because it's something I can hold on to that symbolic that reminds me of how special and memorable our day was not only did she give me this present but she gave me her time holding something look what you got there I got you something oh my god I'm shaking like a little kid this is like Christmas I gave her a keychain from from Burberry because it was a leather one and I went and got personalized and this is what I signed on all of my autographs it says Ashanti love and peace and Christina in Burberry so much for being here clearly this is something that needed to happen so we appreciate you so much for coming here all right for more information on Make A Wish Foundation head to the real calm
