I was born in 1954. Every morning on TV, this guy and his band would be on local TV (WBTV, Charlotte, North Carolina). I'd watch and listen as I began my day, getting ready for school.
Even the likes of George Harrison ('Anthology') and Keith Richards (cover available on YouTube) mentioned Arthur Smith as a major influence on their playing styles.
