ARK Building Tips & Tricks No Mods :: How to Build an Octagon!!!

Oh [Music] hello everyone welcome back how y'all doing today my name is Jesus we're going to take a look at tips and tricks on how to make an octagon with no mods and also showing you how to snap intersecting walls with each other so this is the example that we're going to be we're on the aisle the coordinates are on the map there's no mods but I am using a software called our commander and you can also always check that in the link description down below that will be a video for you guys to take a look at so yeah let's get started and if you have any questions feel free put them in the comments down below and I'll try and answer them for you guys because uh it's a little bit complicated but it's not that complicated so let's take a look shall we alrighty so we're at the location first thing you want to do is just place the pillow down I have place to fill go down great here like so and what you want to do next is grab yourself a ceiling doesn't matter what materials you use it could be wood stone text metal doesn't matter we're just going to do stone for this tutorial to show you guys how to do it what you want to do place the pillar down place the ceiling town on top of that and you can go two ways you can go left or right we're going to go left today we're gonna place the metal ceiling down like so then we're going to take a fence foundation and if you're on the computer PC version I don't know about Xbox or I don't know about consoles in general but there's a key that you can do to rotate it on different snap points what kind of snap point do you want it you want it exactly like this it's kind of just hanging over the ceiling and that's what you want for that perfect snap point what you're going to do now is you're going to grab another fence foundation you're going to grab a snap point to the top like so just like that simple right easy easy so far next thing you want to do is grab a wall these can be temporary walls so maybe a patch wall or a wood wall depending on what your material resources are that you don't want to waste don't use metal obviously you're going to be destroying these wells laughter so what you want to do is place the top one down first then you want to come down underneath this and place down another wall like so diagonal easy right does it matter if it's backwards and forward it just you just need to place a wall there and next thing you're going to do is place a ceiling through the middle between the both walls like so very easy right and now what you're going to do place another pillar we're gonna place the pillars snapping right where it actually was bring on it boom right there right in the middle now there is a nub we're not don't care about that for today there is a way to get rid of it but for this tutorial I'm just showing you how to make the entire thing okay so now you're going to do is destroy both of these and come underneath and destroy the wall now you're left with this what you want to do now it's repeat the process so now you're going to do another ceiling you're going to get another fence phonation going to make sure it's on the edge very nice then you're going to get another fence foundation go to the corner then a wall another wall a ceiling and finally you finish off with a pillar now you have completed a corner pretty much and you delete all these again make sure you don't forget the underneath one it is completely repeats brushes we'll go over one more time ceiling fans the spent foundation make sure it's on the edge another fence phonation going through the middle a wall on top a wall on the bottom and it's lastly a ceiling in a pillar it's that simple and easy pretty cool right very easy [Music] [Music] you [Music] all righty after you have completed this octagon now I forgot to mention you don't actually mean to make it this small you can actually make it a little bit bigger if you wanted to but for the purpose of this building video tips and tricks we're going to do it just the sign now the next thing you want to do in if you want is you want to cover up the holes down here what you're going to do is just simply put a wall up like so it's that simple and easy just grab some more so we get myself n foundation and there you go look at that this is completely vanilla zero modded completely perfect snap points all the way around on an octagon pretty sweet the next thing you can do if you want it is definitely add some walls and the tops over and since I'm going to put some wood walls with here in reverse and to give it some more character just to show you guys the intersection why with wood more and look at that you guys have now just made I starter house pretty much now you're probably wondering how do you fix this part that's the next part of the tutorial alright so the next thing you want to do is decide what you want to do with this middle part for instance what you can do for this is just place ceiling now we're going to do this way and I will show you another way in another video what we're going to do this for instance so to cover this up we're going to go two and two on each of the main corners to form a little bit of a box like so now there is going to be the square in the middle and I you scared that we're not going to cover it up now we're going to cover it up but I want to show you guys this problem right here so says we're not going to have nearby foundation support those who in saying there's no validation port and what you want to do is kind of just snap it to one of the sides so for instance I'm going to snap it to this side right here it's going to snap to this one which is connected to that pillar and then what you can do on this side is reverse it so it snaps to the other side like that now as you can tell it's not completely perfect the floor is a little bit wonky but that's the most we can do for mark why because of just how it is well yeah that's pretty cool that's how you do a how you do this and basically now no one has an excuse on making boxes because that was less than five minutes of showing you how to build this and there is no excuse to build a box anymore this is so easy so simple even my monkey can do it and he's pretty stupid already so here are some examples on what you can actually build with this technique and if you guys want I can do some more expensive tutorials if you guys want on how to build a couple of these because they're pretty cool we already did some builds with the swamp vid and but I could definitely do some more our building on this little thing because you know it's a very great an early starter base build and you can definitely get some really cool ideas on how to build with this alrighty well anyways ladies and gentlemen
