Are You Saved Or Deceived

the great scriptures in the Bible for it talks about Jesus conversation with a group of people who approached him about going to heaven and so I'm going to take a look at this very quickly and and see what we can gain from it in terms of our trip from Earth look at your neighbor and say neighbor save or deceived well we're gonna see you may have you see are you saved are you deceived we're going to take a look at that we're going to take a look at that and the question is are you saved are you deceived now what you have here as we look at this text this is the last sermon Jesus teaching on the Mount Matthew 5 Matthew 6 Matthew 7 we call those the sermons on the Mount and so when we get to Matthew chapter 7 Jesus is finalizing his teaching to his disciples on the Sermon on the Mount Matthew chapter number five is the beginning of his Sermon on the Mount and he goes into all of the blessings blessing a blessed Ave blessed Ave blessed are they blessed are they blessed Ave honey does this repeatedly in chapter number five and then he deals with several several other Christian principles and how the Christian those of you who are Christians how you are to live in this English life that's chapter number five very long subject has over 40 something verses 48 I believe verses I've chapter number 5 many again he takes time to go through all the blessings blessed are the poor blessed are they that mourn blessed at all of the week and the meat blessed are very which do hunger blessed are they they said are the merciful and this at all the peacemakers blessed are they which are persecuted but soon Ave when man shall revive you and then he says rejoice and be exceedingly glad for great is your reward in heaven he goes through principles of the Christian life in Chapter number five dinner course we moved up to number six and when we get to chapter number six he deals with several most important things to a child of God one of which is possessions and masters that's verse 19 I talked to my class about that this morning Jesus was very concerned he was very concerned about who you choose as the master of your life who do you choose as the master of your life you cannot have two you can only have one and so the question is whom do you choose as the Masters of your life and you make sure that we understand that no man can serve two masters for either he would love one and despise the other despise more than love the other soul that's in Chapter number six possessions and masters who do you see as you master in your life that's crucial because the majority of Christians take life differently than what the Bible requires of us to take life or to see life or understand life so what Jesus does is Jesus gives us an illustration of the two masters and one is the sacred master which is Jesus who died on the cross for our sins and the other is our material masters that is those whom we make our masters those whom we allow to speak into our lives and no matter what we'll do no matter what our plans we will run to their rescue and we will be sure we are at their beck and call masters in our lives who in your life as a believer who in your life I can call you and get you out of the biz and provoke you to come to work and you will have maybe works all day and now you're trying to get your rest but they call you and tell you you have to come back because we take an inventory and we're not quite finished and and you're gonna have to come back here and and you and you get out of the bed put on your clothes and you go back down to the job well many of us will do that I am NOT saying don't do that I'm not saying it's a sin to work doesn't know what I'm saying what I'm saying to you is how motivated are you when the Lord asked us to do something when the Lord asked us to perform a task how energetic are we about what the Lord asked and how energetic are we about when our secular employees ask us to do something I taught you before and telling you again what that does to the mentality of a believer what that does is it causes a believer to develop are trying to develop two masters and you can't have two masters Jesus says no man can serve two masters you can't have two masters so you got to be careful as a believer as a child of God as a member of the body of Christ how loyal are you to your secular master how loyal are you to your secular master how loyal are you to your employee are your employer how loyal are you to your employer your employees would call you anytime and and and tell you we gonna need you to do some overtime and and he doesn't uh she doesn't get an argument and we're open about the business but when the church calls when ministry calls and ask of you to do something you're very hesitant and sometime bitter and and and sometimes very coarse when asked by the church to do something now there's a reason for that and the reason for that is that you're trying to develop two masters and Jesus says you can't do that you can't have two masters because you can't treat both of them the same so if you believe that you have to be loyal to your employer if you believe that when your employer call you have to move if you believe your employer is the most important person in your life because he or she writes your check and because he or she writes your check whatever they want you to do whether it was day whether it was night it doesn't matter whatever they want you to do you are willing to do it and there was no backtalk and the reason you do that is because you are allowing yourself to feel that your employer the person you work for you are allowing yourself to believe that they provide your livelihood you are allowing yourself to believe that if it were not for mr. Jones if it were not for whomever you work for if it weren't for those four we wouldn't be eating in this house now it's because many times those of us are Christians we don't know who our master is we don't know who provide for us every day we don't know that if they were not for God we would not have gotten up this morning and we will get by home after service is over and so it's important to understand the words of Jesus in Matthew chapter number 6 and that is you can't have two masters either God is your master Christ is your master the Holy Spirit is your God either that or you have appointed someone else in your life to be your guide to be your master so you got to be careful and don't misunderstand what I'm saying I am NOT saying don't work I'm not saying don't be faithful to your employer that's not what I'm saying what I'm saying is if you are going to move without hesitation if you're going to move without discussion if you are going to move without having any back talk when you when your employer calls then while the back talk when the church calls that that's all I'm saying that's all I'm saying and Jesus is then you can live like that you cake you cannot claim to have Jesus as a master and then you sweet him as if he is not important in your life whereas when he come to your secular employer you are at his or her beck and call and so Jesus mentions this in the sixth chapter of the book of Matthew beginning reversing him in 18 and that's why he does it he does it so you and I will get the masters confuse he mentions it because he does not want you as a member of the Church of Christ he does not want you believing that if your employer fired you release you I'll let you go of your job then you will not have any means of support Jesus wants you to believe that he will take care of you no matter what your situation is and you are not to depend upon earthly employers our earthly masters because there will come a time when you need help and they cannot provide it and so we moved to chapter number 7 and when we get to chapter number 7 and verse 21 Jesus continues to teach on the Mount just outside of Jerusalem he began he continues to teach now he teaches in Matthew chapter 5 Matthew chapter 6 of Matthew chapter 7 and that's where we are I'm at the chapter 7 but we are on the last day we will we in the last chapter of the Sermon on the Mount because he's preached three Matthew 5 Matthew 6 and now we in Matthew chapter 7 so let's listen to what he is saying and in Chapter 7 because he's speaking to us in Matthew chapter number 7 and here's what he says in verse 21 not everyone that saith unto me Lord Lord shall enter into the kingdom of heaven but he that doeth the will of my father which is in heaven so it's important therefore that all of us understand what is the will of the Father the father has a week the farmer has a program for all of those of us who are children of God now our job and our responsibility is to work within God's program and God's plan for our lives he says now because they're going to be full and he says to those of us in the room and listen to him talk he says not everyone that saith to me Lord Lord shall enter the kingdom of heaven that's heaven itself but he that doeth the will of my father which is in heaven there are some things you're going to have to do there are just some things you're going to have to do there were just no way you will be ushered into the portals or heaven having not done the will of God God has a will God has a purpose God has a plan for all of our lives you and I need to know what those plans are because in the final round up of human affairs when we stand before God believing that we are going to make it through the pearly gates it may be that you hear the Lord says say I don't know you even though you may have done work even though you may have performed even though you may have been faithful even though you may not have missed a Sunday in worship to the Lord even though you may not have done any of that but to get you in the gate that I want you to hear this to get you there even though from an ocula from a visible point of view I see you in church I see you in Bible School and I'll see you and I'll see you in Sunday school I'll see you in prayer service I see you as a very faithful person in the church base tone of what I see based on what I see but it's going to take more then that in order to enter into the kingdom of God you've been baptized for a remission of your sins you have obeyed the gospel of Jesus Christ you have been saved by the power of God and by the acceptance of the gospel of Jesus Christ so you are saved you are saved you've been baptized for remission of your sins you are saved but now many of us who have been saved have been saved but we have been deceived we have been deceived because we do not clearly understand what our salvation entails I'll salvation entails more than just going to church and being in church on Sunday morning or Sunday night always denied it means more than that and that's what Jesus is doing here as he talked to his disciples on the Sermon on the out he says men listen carefully man everyone the sir fundament Lord Lord is going to go to heaven because you call on the Lord in a way that impressed other people does not mean that you are important fact going to heaven because not everyone that saith unto me Lord Lord is going to enter into the kingdom of heaven and then he says in verse 22 he says many will say to me in that day Lord Lord have we not pertinent here comes that work so here comes that work and folks are all I am just so tiny why because I work at the church and I guess I do I do a lot of church stuff and that's good that's good I'm always at you antagonizing you to get involved in ministry so don't misunderstand what I'm saying what I'm saying here is that Jesus as many will say to me on that day have we not prophesied in thy name and thy name have cast out devils and in thy name done many wonderful works yes we ought to work even when Jesus came to the air he says I must work the work of him that sent me while it is day four when night come no man can work and he says to every believer go into my vineyard and where so there is no question that we ought to work but don't miss what the master of the city the master says many will say unto me in that day Lord Lord have we not prophesied in thy name and in the name cast out devils and in the name done many wonderful works it just seems like this group of people should be a part of those who are going to be ushered into the poses of heaven look at these for Billy this is have we not prophesied in thy name and in thy name cast out devils and in thy name done many wonderful works it just looks like these folk should be should be eligible to be ushered into the portals of heaven but what Jesus wants us to understand here's what is important what is necessary what is important to the old growing of the kingdom of God but then what is more important than just work what is more important than just doing the will of God comes in the next verse verse 23 and then will I profess unto them what them those that says Lord Lord have we not prophesied in thy name if I mean have we not cast out Devils in thy name have we not done many wonderful work in other words we have been working but Jesus says I am going to declare unto those who have been legitimately working I'm going to declare unto them I never knew you depart from me ye that work iniquity of course based on the words of the text and we have gone through the years applied this verse to unfaithful members of the body of Christ and I think that has that has that has some merit however the context and the wording of these verses indicate that Jesus is talking to a group of people that are not his over he's talking to a group of people who have not been saved he is talking to a group now we make the application I just made the application we make the application that it is important it is most important that those of us who are children of God that we work and that we don't we don't develop two masses and all of that and all that's good but not for this verse for this verse and for these two verses where in verse 22 raises many will say to me in that day Lord Lord have we not prophesied in thy name and in thy name have cast out devils and in thy name done many wonderful work and they thought they were doing this in Jesus name but the problem was they weren't doing it in Jesus name they thought they were but they were not and there are a lot of folk today out there in TV land out there in radioland there are a lot of folks out there who are working in day for digger buddy who are working very diligently who who never miss short you may be singing in the church's choir who may be paying their tithe who may live be living the good life doing all that sort of thing but if it's not according to the will of God then you will hear him saying that day I don't know you you see there are many folk out there in TV land I'm talking to folk in TV land right now I'm talking to folk on radio right now all across the world wherever you are and where you're listening and we own your phone whether you own the Internet wherever you are you are listening to the word and I'm saying to you that you must not only worship the Lord but you must worship the Lord as he directs us so us with him because whatever we do in words or deed must be done according to the Word of God and so he says to them he says and then will I profess unto you unto them I never knew you what do you mean I never knew you who are the you those who prophesied it his name I thought they were those who were casting out Devils I thought they were in the name and have done many wonderful works I thought they were they thought these people thought that because we are good people and because we read our Bible and because we go to some church and because we give our money then you need to let us in the heaven but that will not get you into heaven now you cannot get to heaven without doing the will of God but the doing of the will of God must be filial of God it must be as God directs so here's what Jesus says his Jesus now here's what I'm going to say to those four and they will I profess unto them I never knew you so that lets me know that the group that Jesus is talking to here is a religious group but it is a religious group who are working but not according to the gospel of Jesus Christ because Jesus says I never knew you and if this had been members of his church then he would not have said that to them what does this group they had to what look what they had been doing ah they had prophesied in his name they have cast out devils in his name I thought they were and in the name the many wonderful works Jesus says yes but the problem is I never knew you so whatever you did or whatever you thought you were doing was not valid in my sight because I never knew you now here's what that turned me I never knew that means Jesus saying I never the Greek would say I never had a relationship with you that's what he's saying he is saying I've never had a relationship with you now you may have done all of it but you were never saved by me I never took you in you were never baptized in water for remission of sins and were added to the church that found in the Bible you were never in me now you saved me you say you worship Me you went to a church you became a member of a church but that was not the church that was in the Bible and that I died for which means I never had a relationship with you never had a relationship with you how sad would it be how sad would it be and I'm talking to listen to those of you who have listened to me and watching me and on TV I said would it be for you to have worked in a religious organization all your life and then in the final consummation of all things hear him say I never knew you depart for me so here's what I need you to understand and if I make this point then of course I'm finished almost here's what I'm saying you can be religious you can be religious but not biblically correct because you go to church because you all remember in its words because you've been in that chart all of your life does not mean you own your head in heaven and Jesus is going to say well done don't mean any song have we not prophesied have we not cast out devils have we not done many wonderful works you find that indicative of most people in religion they're like million of people in America and in the world doing wonderful works in the name of Jesus but that's not the question the question is do they have a relationship with Jesus Christ if you have not established a relationship with Jesus it does not matter how many times you go to church because here's what Jesus would have us know he says and then will I profess unto them what them is that those who go to church those who are members of churches but these switches are not in the Bible they have obeyed a religion that's not in the Bible those who say they are saved but they cannot find our salvation in the Bible those who are good and listen I'm not talking about mean and hateful folk I'm clear about good people I'm talking about wonderful people I am talking about people who actually love the Lord people who love oh absolutely believe in living in Christian life good for but the thing is Jesus says you never established a relationship with me you're good people wonderful but you never that stop it's a relationship with me because you have to do certain things in order to have a relationship with me in order to have a relationship with me you must be in the church that I died for you must be in the church that are purchased with my blood you must be in the chest that I'm coming back fall for as a husband for as a man is the husband of the wife for as a husband is the head of the wife so Christ is the head of the church and save you out the body so the only church that Jesus is going to say is the church that he died for the church that he purchased with his blood the church where salvation is the church he's coming back for you must be in that church not the preacher's church but you must be in that church that you can find in the Bible because if you do many wonderful works and there are folk all over the world in all kinds of denominations that that are doing great works but the works that you do will save you if you are not in the right place you have to be in the church that he built and bought died for with his precious blood and so he says depart from me I never those are harsh words I never knew you here you are working in a denomination here you are working in a religious organization and you can't even find it in the Bible here you are just as faithful as some of those who are in the body of Christ and there are many good wonderful lovely people out there in organizations that God didn't put in the Bible not in the Bible but they're good people but God is not going to save you on the basis of your goodness God is not gonna save you on the basis of some work that you may have done here it is right here in the scripture depart for me I never knew you relationship there was never a relationship there was never a beginning point you worked in these searches and you were faithful and indefatigable a but the problem is I didn't authorize it I did not authorize it and so when you slander feel God in the final round of the human affairs I want to say to those of you in radioland those of you in TV land you must make sure that you make your calling and election sure I bet you do because he was the example here were these folks standing before God said I was in this church all my life and I've never left it and I was true to it and I was all of that to it and Jesus said well I hear what you say but I never knew you because you were faithful to a church that I didn't build you were faithful to a church that's not in the Bible you were faithful to a church that I didn't purchase with my blood and because you are depart from me I never knew you you that work iniquity now and then with let me just deal with this and work with you that work iniquity he says depart from me I never knew you I never had a relationship with you well I guess I better tell you this well how didn't do i establish a relationship with Jesus Christ how do I begin my relationship with Jesus Christ how do I do that Romans chapter 6 and verse number 1 Romans chapter 6 and verse number 1 how do I begin my relationship with Jesus Christ it is so plain and it is so simple what shall we say then shall we continue in sin that grace may abound god forbid how shall we that are dead to sin live any longer therein know ye not that so many watch this here's what Paul is saying Paul is saying don't you know he's writing to the church at home and he says don't you know that as many of us he included himself know ye not that so many of us now everything that follows us means that Paul did that there's so many of us and were baptized Paul was baptized what was he baptized because Jesus commanded it Paul was baptized for remission of his sins why because Jesus commanded it and there were a thousand upon thousand of you out there in TV land right now now looking at me that's whenever you're looking at me had what they were whatever it is any way in the world but here's the point the point is that you may have been baptized but wasn't for the remission of sins no you're not fulfillment in us and were baptized into Jesus Christ that's the only way you can get into Jesus Christ listen to me carefully you cannot pay your way into Christ you cannot wave your hand into Christ you cannot speak in tongue into Christ the only way for you to get into Christ and be in cries is what the scripture says for as many of us as were baptized into Christ that's the only way you can get into Christ you connect now no one I'm talking to millions of people out there who say what brother preacher I beg to differ with you I know I'm in Christ no you're not and I don't mean any harm I don't want to sound like a negative preacher except to say to you that the only way to get into Christ is to be baptized into Christ there it is right there in the scripture no you know there's so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ was baptized into his death you see if you were not baptized into Christ you were not baptized into his death which means you were you didn't meet the blood of Jesus for the blood of Jesus was shared in his death after he died they pissed him in the side and out came blood and water now if you want to get to that blood you have to get to get to I get into his death and to get into his death you're gonna have to be baptized into him there it is no you know there's so many of us that were baptized into Jesus got baptized into his death and then verse number four the Bible said therefore we are buried with him and as a relationship we are buried with him you can't get with him onto your belly in Baptism we are billet with him what are you proving preacher I'm proving that this relationship begins in Baptism and that's baptism for remission of sins so then how do i iack stablish that relationship because if you don't exercise this relationship if you do not go stop is this relationship then you will hear and say depart from me I never knew you your work is our iniquity now that word iniquity means without law that's what they wrote iniquity means without law [Music] depart from me ye that work iniquity you are serving God but you are serving him without authority you are claiming to serve the Lord and you're not even in the Lord for Jesus like I never knew you I said is it to be a part of an organization all your life and Jesus does not know you you see and so the question of the of the text is are you saved or you deceive did somebody tell you that you were saved did somebody tell you that you alright did somebody tell you that the Lord loves you and he's going to save you because he loves you will you mean to see saved or to see these people came before the Lord and says wow look what we did and it's a whole bunch of us here we prophesied in your name we cast out devils in your name we've done many wonderful works in your name and then Jesus says how do we know you now we know you well why don't you know me Lord because your work is of iniquity you in a church that I didn't build you in a church that in Maine you in a church that I didn't a fall you in a church that was not purchased by my blood you in a church that you can't find in the Bible I don't know you I don't know you and as a result I need you to depart from me I just need you to prepare for the devil's and his angels now here's what you need if you are in the room you need a relationship and those of us who are members of the Church of Christ we need to maintain our relationship with Jesus and I mean you gonna be perfect every day but it does mean that you need to maintain that relationship because the relationship does not begin until you are baptized for mission of sick Galatians chapter 3 and verse 26 27 and 28 we all children of God by faith in Christ Jesus for as many of you as have been baptized into Christ hell for own Christ all these years you've never had Christ if you've never been baptized for the remission of your sins you've never been saved and if you are not in Christ not say and the only way to get in Christ is by baptism for remission of sins and so if you're in the Roman you need to be saved you need to come now you need to come now and for those of you in TV land if you're not been baptized for remission of your sins you have not obey the direct command of Jesus Christ you've not only the direct command of Jesus Christ like that right those who poke fun at the gospel preachers and say well they you know that they didn't believe in water they believed in water they believe me if they believe in putting folk in water they believe in water baptism they believe it what we believe and get this clear but particularly my friends out there in TV land get just briefly we do not believe in baptism any more than we believe in repentance we do not believe in baptism any more than we believe in confession we do not believe in baptism any more than we believe in faith because all of them are important to becoming a child of God all of our voice now they will say that the Church of Christ is a water believe in church they believe you know just a duck back Church they believe in water yeah we believe in water because God put water in the plan God for water in the plan you remember acts of a when when when the Holy Spirit told full of going down engine and talk to this Europe what the Bible said and when they came to a certain Philip said the eunuch said see here is what doing hinder me to be baptized and the Bible said that are you still still and they both went down in the and Philip baptized him and when they had come up out of the I didn't write the body I didn't write about but the Holy Spirit just suffered to put you to so fit to put that in their baptism is just as important as confession confession is just as important as rapidity repenting is just as important as baptism because they're all commands of God why would you why would you allow me to emphasize confession but leave out baptism they both are commanded by Jesus Christ and so have you been saying I have you been to see good people have been deceived every day and this is it here's an example of it and I'm certain to some of these folklore artists who said look this is what we did we prophesied a recast our Devils we read many wonderful works I'm sure and I am certain that in that group was those who were sincere what's in Sirte will not get you into heaven the only thing is going to get you into heaven is a relationship Jesus Christ and you don't begin that relationship until you are baptized for remission of sins and if you here and you want to be saving you here and and and you've been to see good people though I'm not talking about your morality some of the best people in the world I'll cope who have not obeyed Jesus back some of the best people I mean some of the most wonderful and sweet people in the world of people in organizations that Jesus did not expect this well what they don't have to do is they don't have to get into the church that was built in bought by the blood of Jesus Christ they don't have to get themselves into Christ and the only way to get yourself into Christ is Galatians chapter 3 verse 26 and verse 27 Romans chapter 6 verse 1 to 4 that's where that relationship begins because when you and I stand before God and the final round up a human affairs then Jesus is gonna want to know do I have a relationship with you do I have a relationship with you that's what Jesus want to know because if I don't have a relationship with you did depart from me begin that relationship right now by being baptized for admission of the sins and God will add you to the church and if you hear me pray you want the church to pray for you and I as the time to get that depth don't read into the next week don't read into the conference table don't wait until all the preachers in different women no no no knives the time to do it right now because today is the day of salvation hard not to heart and if you're in this house and you want to strengthen your relationship with Jesus because that's what he's gonna be asking about he says I don't know you I don't have a relationship with you as a matter of fact the master says I never I never knew you never that's serious business that's serious business and you don't want that to happen to you you want to maintain a relationship with Jesus and so if you need strength if you need the church to pray for you will pray because we gonna pray just a few minutes from now and for those of you who have not been saved those of you who have not been baptized for remission of your sins those of you who are not in the body of Christ I want you to come down the aisle right now those who need prayer want you to come right now we're going to pray for you get us together stand why we're standing
