Are Growing Dolls Just A Gimmick? - Awesome Blossems vs Blume Dolls

what is happening hey me bets I'm back and today we have yet another new doll line to check out well depending on where you live it may have been out for you but for me its new because in Canada they're just not out yet and that is the awesome blossoms now along with this box they did send me a small package on the side so I have an idea of what the container is gonna look like but not what's in the box yet so we're gonna go down to the table and check that out together before we do though I'm going to say if you've been noticing a lot more scent items it's not because I've copped out it's because there are a lot of new toys coming out this summer and we don't have them in Canada so in order to help you guys get a good review of what's coming up have to say yes is it that's all I have no other excuse that and I like to see what's coming up so yes hopefully whatever is in here is awesome but if it's not we're gonna find out together and bonus we're gonna be comparing this to something else you guys have been requesting so let's do it yeah that was not as flawless as I had wanted here is our box and we are ready to go it says awesome blossoms and it's got one of those cool flippy images made out of sequence but now that I've got a good solid surface and hopefully won't drop the Box on any part of my body we can see what the flippy image reveals this is plant the seeds make water flow you have the magic to make awesome blossoms grow these are really cool and you can make pillows over these and I kind of want one but now is not the time for that now is the time to open the box inside the top flap it says awesome blossoms read me first and then it's got the steps from 1 to 10 for how we should play with this doll so basically we're gonna clean up our surface area and get everything set up we'll add the sparkle place oil add leaf bowls of water and then once our doll is ready we'll pop her out and discard the soil and the seed because we won't need it anymore after that we'll pop out the little pieces that come with the toy to set up our scene and add our doll and bonus the little dome that came on top of the package can be used to create a display piece for our doll when we're not playing guess what that's awesome blossom [Music] so I've temporarily moved the camera because honestly I can't reach this stuff inside the box we have a card that says you can collect 26 different dolls from five enchanted worlds will you be one of the lucky ones to grow an ultra rare diamond doll with real diamond in her tiara there are only 3000 available worldwide beneath that there are all these really pretty pastel vintage looking flowers and they're all fake so I could totally reuse these and I think they're absolutely beautiful and then nestled right in the center we have one more awesome blossom doll moving on today we are going to be opening up two awesome blossoms and then we're also gonna be checking out to bloom dolls these have been requested quite a bit from you guys in the comments and when I found them I thought they're both products that grow dolls so we might as well figure out which is better but I think I'm gonna start with the awesome blossoms ow I keep hitting myself this is not actually available in Canada yet I don't know what their cost is gonna be and sadly they did not include that info for me so if you have it please share it below the package itself is only about four inches high so I don't anticipate the doll being very big which is funny because we have such a blown-up image of one of the characters on the front and I'm definitely thinking that's meant to grab your attention if you see it in the store the container itself is a pink flower pot with a dome lid and it's all wrapped in one layer of plastic with a tear strip on the left side there are three of the steps that we'll have to follow to get our doll out and on the right there's a list of what is included inside so we're gonna get the pot with dome lid one seed one doll a bag of sparkling place oil a leaf spoon and a sheet of chip art as well as an instruction sheet and a collector's guide these are recommended for children over the age of five and definitely not for children under three because they do contain small parts and apparently they're also scented now I think that's pretty much it so we're just gonna go ahead and open it up halfway it didn't work out very well guys okay so first of all that reminds me a spongebob here is our flower pot it is a pink yellow and orange ombre type picture with flowers all over it and then down in the corner it says awesome blossoms we just unscrew this oh we pop it off the dome lid is clear with some embedded silver glitter and then there's some little holes on top we've got a clear plastic bag with some purple glittery soil but to be honest it kind of looks like shaved up sponge under that we've got a green little leaf hammock which is removable and this is what we're gonna fill up to water our sparkly soil next we take off the lid and remove our paper cutouts here's our instruction slash collector guide basically it's telling me the same thing that was written inside the big box they sent me so we've taken everything out and I've protected my work surface with some next to invisible paper towel and now we're going to take off of the plastic insert and pull the tab there we go and here is our seed which we're gonna put right back in next we're going to fill the pot with the sparkly place soil and then add levels of water it kind of smells scented but that could also just be whatever that is it's not gonna fill this up so there's our soil and next step we need some leaf bowls of water and it doesn't say how much so we're just gonna add it until she starts to grow alright so here is one two three maybe we should zoom in okay that gave me a heart attack you know she's just chillin on the side she's pretty cute and she reminds me a bit of a big Polly Pockets actually quite adorable we'll check her out in a second first I'm just gonna clean this up here is my empty cleaned out pot there's still some glitter in there but it's not the end of the world now the instructions don't really say anything else that we can do with this but obviously it's a cup so use it for whatever you like or to store all your stuff again following the rest of the steps we will pop out our flowers a cute little pillow and a super teeny little purse these are only cardstock so don't get them wet and before I stick them into the slots that are cut out of the plastic I'll quickly show it to you it is solid pink with two tree trunk sticking up which will hold our leaf once again like a hammock so our doll can lie in it but there's also a little cobblestone path some faux flowers and to cut out spots for our doll to stand go ahead and add our leaf back on through the teeny pillow in there prop a purse up for no reason and then there's our doll this is very cute but it's kind of pointless so I'm gonna take it out and show what she looks like standing up because if you want her to stand can't really have that big leaf in the way and there she is and that's what it looks like with the dome on top although it seems like there's too much glitter embedded in the plastic so it's hard to see her set that over there and let's check out her doll she's actually quite cute so there are two soft rubbery pink see-through leaves on her head and they have imbedded silver glitter she's got a short pixie cut that's a little longer in the front than it is in the back and it's teal light pink and hot pink I can't really zoom in on her makeup because it will start to blur but it is really nice she's got some hot pink eyebrows blue eyes big bold mascara and eyeliner some light blue eye shadow a pink heart on her right cheek and some pink lipstick moving on to her body it's similar to a Polly Pocket in the sense that it bends only at one spot that's part of her dress her arms don't move they're just stretched out in front of her and held up at the sides she's wearing a strapless dress that starts off light pink and goes down into dark pink and it's got ruffles and white lines on the skirt and she's also wearing some mint green long socks and flat pink shoes and then she's got a little base from this first experience I'm gonna say this doll is very cute she's got a really great quality but depending on what the price will be it might not actually be worth it although the experience of growing your doll is cute and fun it literally lasts ten seconds before you have to toss those items after that you are left with this little base a really good quality doll and some cardboard cutouts you could definitely play with this but you will have to use your imagination and I am all for that so I'm definitely not critiquing that but if you have the time and you don't mind a little effort I think you could customize this base to make it look a lot nicer and you should probably go ahead and laminate this too or glue down some other things to make them more permanent because these are not gonna last since they did put a little cutout on this handbag I will try it on her arm the doll itself is fantastic and all the hard pieces being reusable makes me really happy we just need to find a way to make the actual gross process reusable because that was a big part of the toy and it got tossed other than that I really do like this and lastly she is scented she smells like cinnamon chewing gum so it reminds me of Christmas and now we'll check out our bloom dolls naturally I'm gonna check out the package first I'm gonna go ahead and say that this is also a flower pot because it sort of feels like a very bumpy one on top there is a clear plastic pink heart and I see a little watering can in there so we're obviously going to need to add some water again this package says that it's Series one for ages three and up because they do contain small parts each package has ten surprises which includes our dull and mix-and-match accessories and I do not believe these are scented at all so I was sent the awesome blossoms and the bloom dolls cost me $15 each before tax and so far I've only found them at one Canadian store and in the US they're about ten dollars and you could find them on Amazon or at Walmart now I am ready to open but interestingly enough there's the start of a tear strip on the top but it does not continue anywhere else on the plastic so this should be fun alright I just pull that off tada here it is oh that's a really cute flower pot you can probably use these as real soft no it opens nevermind so we have a light pink flower pot and it says bloom on the front and then there are some molded vines and leaves all around it and then on top is the clear pink plastic that's pretty cute here's my little watering can you can hear it it's a light pink squishy watering campus and it will fill up the same way in lol surprise bottle wood so we'll just squeeze it I don't know I do that so we'll just squeeze it and suck up some water on top we have a peel off tin lid and it's got very specific instructions do not put water here and do not crack open the flower pot we are meant to peel it off before I do that I'm just going to quickly check the checklist this side shows all the different girls and they're cool wacky hairstyles there are mystical super rares rares and adorable and then there's a mystery one and I'm really happy to see that these ones have names on the back are the instructions so we're gonna remove the pink label fill our watering can up with water and then sprinkle the water evenly on top of the flowerpot if our doll takes too long to bloom we'll just add some more water next we'll remove our doll pop open our flowerpot remove the ring that we no longer need and remove our surprises from inside which would be all those secret accessories got my water ready fill up my can perfect and I will peel off the topsoil we've got some stickers so there are hanging lights a cute little bumblebee a pink and purple ladybug a small green cactus in a blue pot a wooden sign that says mwah and then to bloom dolls one with pink hair the other with purple those are really cute on the top of our pod is exposed and we see this really cute picture of a pink flower pot being watered by a pink watering can so let's just replicate that shall we might need a better view in case this starts blooming hopefully these are just gonna pop out like that last one here we go oh here comes I see some purple hair making its way out oh it's got weight on the back sir it creepy alright that was fast the hair is purple on one side with a big white streak on the other and it's definitely a squishy let me see if it smells like anything if it smells like paint now I'm gonna slowly remove it here's our doll she's wrapped in a piece of plastic and since I've already got her out we'll give her a check first her hair is a squishy it's actually quite hard and it smells very strongly of paint it's coming Rado to the top of her sculpted head and the rest of her hair is a shaped plastic color to match the squishy it kind of looks like it's formed into it and underneath that hard plastic you could see a painted scalp and a lighter version of the same hair color moving on to her face and makeup she's got ashy Brown eyebrows with really pretty light green eyes there's some painted on leaves that are filled in by light green eye shadow she's got some very bold black wing-tipped mascara and eyeliner from different views it makes her look really angry moving on she's got a light pink lipstick which is also separated by a fine black line and they've also given her a really cute little chin and tiny nose she's got a light skin tone and is wearing a black two-piece bikini her arms are bendable and rubbery and they look like they should be able to move up and down but mine feels sort of glued in so I don't want to mess with them too much but check out those hands they are so cute and defined like she's got little wrists and fingers knuckles and everything moving on to her legs they definitely remind me of the LEGO Friends style because they are hard plastic and gradually get bigger at the base and they can move back and forth so she will sit down wonder if she's top-heavy we'll give her a go oh definitely let's see if she can stand unassisted no definitely not it's kind of funny that she sort of bounces because of her squishy hair which still smells terrible oh so I'm gonna take this apart to discard the ring and find my accessories to do that we're supposed to push in and then down oh that was easy take that out inside is pretty cute unfortunately it doesn't open all the way so you can't really see it but there are more formed vines and leaves made out of plastic as well as a blue plastic stump growing out of the inside of the pot which is interesting and then on this side we have a small blue table with a mystery seal on top as well as what I'm guessing is gonna be a blue wardrobe also with the seal so we're gonna open those up and see what's inside them oh it's a little sticker okay I hope it doesn't peel off with a bow inside we've got a weird little onion it's all brown with arms feet and a little thing growing out of the top of his head and two tiny black pinprick eyes and now let's open up the Wardrobe inside there were two black shoes they look like high-top sneakers let's just go ahead and put those on our top-heavy doll maybe they'll help her stand a bit more there you go can she stand no she's also got a very feathery purple jacket on top of a black skirt and a black crop top or at least that's what I'm assuming it is she really likes those two piece visible midriff a-type outfits oh so maybe the first one wasn't a bathing suit maybe it was underwear and the little sports bra or something there you go she's top-heavy and dressed and she's got her pet onion oh no he can't stand either he just can't stand it you disgust me she's taller than her home alright this stump over here is apparently a mirror and according to the instructions wait can we take off her hair we can mix and match their hair and outfits wait a minute I'm gonna try taking that off okay so we get an outfit which we got we get shoes which we got the hair which is on her head and an accessory I guess that was her pet because I didn't see a handbag in there but apparently the doll stand can be used as a mirror so this is the mirror does it come off oh there's the accessory okay perfect there's also a little purple handbag that's got a big bow on the front which she can't really hold if she's wearing her outfit because it's one piece and it blocks it if we take off her outfit then she can hold it excellent and now we have a dull stand let's see if this works out perfect they had nevermind I was gonna say they planned for the top-heavy hair it stood for a little while I'll give it that just bender forward a bit it's perfect last thing I'm gonna do is check to see if we could take her hair off her push down we can okay like them more now underneath the she's got light purple hair in a topknot so their hair is changeable there's a little tissue paper under there to perfect we've got a reusable playset which was our flowerpot a little pet that doesn't stand a doll that stands with her base can she stand without the hair no she's still top-heavy that's okay at least they provided a base she's got her outfit her purse a watering can some stickers and some removable hair at $15 I am not mad at this now I'm just gonna decorate the inside with my stickers before I move on to my next awesome blossom there we go that's actually pretty cute I wish there was a top to that table now that we know how things work we're gonna move on to our second awesome blossom Oh No it all exploded on me we've got the same flowers purse and pillow our dome with our soil foam which is not what they call it but that's what it is and our seed mmm smells really good smells like blueberries or something I cut a small hole and still making such a big mess get in there right okay the outside of my pot is wrapped in a blue sticker and this time it's got hearts butterflies flowers and hexagons and everything else is the exact same so we're just gonna add our water and I think last time it took three so I'm gonna try not to have a heart attack this time and maybe I should sue in there we go ready 1 2 3 4 5 oh my gosh it's freaking me out 6 7 what's happening oh my gosh okay here's our little doll she looks so angry but she looks a little bit like a bee she's wearing a little yellow dress with little black things on it I'm gonna clean this up so we can see her look how cute her little seed was it really bums me out that we throw this away that there's no purpose for it after her clip didn't break with her though like the first one so I wonder if I can do it again I'm gonna try just work with me for a second see if we could stick it back down on I don't think it does no lots of bummer so we can't reuse this you just toss it I mean you could keep it if you want to but it has no purpose so that's up to you here's our doll all cleaned up she's got a soft bendable yellow tiara type staying on top of her head a short hairstyle that starts off brown and gradually changes to blond and underneath that little tiara you can see two little buns right above her bangs her eyebrows are brown and matched the top color of her hair she's got light blue eyes big black mascara with yellow eyeshadow underneath her left cheek there's a small painted yellow Sun and she's also got pink lipstick she's like the first doll she has a very pale complexion so altogether these colors really work for her but they kind of keep her muted and yellow and once again she can only bend at the waist and I did forget to check it on the first doll but their heads do turn a full 360 degrees the doll is wearing a yellow dress with a black collar and hexagons on top and two black ruffles for the skirt as well as black high-top boots and I'm getting a serious honeybee vibe I mean I always get that vibe for anything yellow or black but come on it even looks like a little antenna in the heart so I'm going with it since the rest of the accessories are the same I'm just gonna quickly go ahead and assemble it Hey look at that I wasn't completely wrong there's a little beat on her purse my vibe was not wrong I wonder if that was accidentally perfect for me or if they sent that on purpose that would be really cool oh there you go and put her inside her dome and now we'll quickly check to see oh okay see her enchanted world was fashion buzz they're all insects and I did get a beat so I didn't point it out before but if you get a star next to it it's a super rare and if you get a clover it's a rare the ones that I got were both common so that's it for the awesome blossoms now I'll open up my very last bloom job since we've already checked everything out we don't really need to read anything and once again this one doesn't have a full tear strip I find that so weird half the time they don't work anyways but why even start it oh okay that was not helpful I'm not using my teeth because that would be bad for them oh oh we're getting somewhere we're getting somewhere okay this time why drop stuff this time we have a green flower pot take the top there's our watering can our checklist which we already know about and everything else is the exact same except it's green so let's just go ahead and get started here's our stickers and just like before we have a little mirror this time there's just a little butterfly we've also got a blue clock some green foliage to decorate the room a photo for the wall it's got to bloom dolls one's got white hair and the other has green we've also got a little yellow flower and some hanging lights and then of course of the tops now he's got to add our water to watch the dull bloom here we go and that one happens pretty quick last time oh there goes Oh Lucy's got lots of green hair it is green and white and it appears to be the exact same style here is our doll and to be honest it looks identical to the first one it's just got a brown skin tone and light blue eyes and eye shadow and green hair and under clothes and now that I know I could take the hair off I'm just gonna go ahead and skip to that give it a squeeze see if it smells funny and once again it just smells like paint and yeah basically the doll is the exact same but we will zoom in real quick just to show off the makeup and make sure there are no scratches or defects and there's not so that's pretty great and also she has red lipstick instead of pink so I missed that can their heads turn I forgot to check oh they're very stiff but they do and while we're here we'll see if this one has movable arms they might be able to bend but not rotate I might have been wrong there because this one also seems as though it's glued together we'll open up our flower pot remove this piece and find our surprise and now that I know the mirror opens I will begin there first that way we can have a base for our doll and here's her little purse is a light brown handbag with a weird little poofy thing hanging off one zipper put that on her super defined fingers and let's try not to leave so much sticker behind when I open up the surprise area I am really pleased that we only remove paper and don't have to open any plastic blind bags that's definitely a win for this product here's her little pet it's an upside-down ice cream cone but literally just the waffle cone and there's no ice cream on the top which is actually its bottom it's got two little feet two hands one is waving hey and the other is tucked behind its back and then there are two big black eyes and here is our outfit we've got some strappy red sandals and we'll put those on real quick we've got a white and green top it's got some nice big frills on the sleeves I think that's really cute and they go on like the lol's clothes and then we've got a white skirt that's longer in the back there's little patterns all over the bottom of it - that's pretty cute it's a little tricky to get that button done and it's a very thin little ring that wraps around it so I see it snapping but for now it works the dolls are actually pretty decent and their look is growing on me even of the unconnected eyeliner I can get behind that the hair is just too much but it is fun it just it doesn't work with it because it's so top-heavy except when she's on a stand it sort of works then as long as you ever tipped in the right direction she should be she should be oh she should be okay now I'm just going to go ahead and decorate the inside of replace it so we can move on I'm gonna try swapping their looks out because that's part of the fun oh that went on a lot easier when the shirts not in the way okay so as long as you put the shirt on second it should not be a problem she looks pretty good I'm gonna leave her in the black shoes because I think they look kind of cool instead of the red it doesn't really suit I'm gonna give her the green hair and now I'm gonna give her of the purple outfit excellent they have swapped looks I think it's kind of funny that we ended up with two dolls that have the exact same style of hair when there were different ones available remember those down and quickly see who we have so I ended up with Tess and Mandi and they are both adorable no rares or anything like that all right so Tess and Mandi at least they have names those guys do not and that's the end of our blue girls and now you know what they look like when you swap their clothes welcome back guys you've reached the end of the video and I still have some dolls in my hand with a quick little update sad news in the two minutes it took to get from the table to the upper camera the back of my doll's skirt that little loop that I was concerned was too small was in fact too small and it split apart while she was wearing it so that's unfortunate hopefully the other dolls have a bit better of a latching hook type thing for their clothing at $15 I think these dolls are pretty good I'm not a super fan of the squishy part mostly because it's a bit top-heavy and smells pretty gross but at least they give us a base so they don't keep falling and the only other thing that I wasn't a super fan of is a lack of a tabletop but I've got cardboard and glue so I could fix that on my own now when it comes to the awesome blossoms I think these guys are super cute and the process of growing them was actually quite cool but there's just too much that you end up getting rid of if that makes any sense for me to thoroughly enjoy or recommend purchasing them in the end you're left with a cup and a plastic single colored base with some cardboard cutouts and a leaf with a really cute doll personally to me it doesn't matter how great this tini doll is or if it smells good and it certainly does because realistically if it's gonna cost anything more than five dollars it's not gonna be worth it basically it's the experience that you're having and that's over within 10 seconds and a minor heart attack earlier in the video I did mention that I was not sent a price so I tried to do a bit of research to see if I could find them on Amazon or Walmart or anywhere for that matter and I still couldn't find anything so I'm really sorry about that if you do happen to know that info please feel free to share it down below but they are super cute I just wish there was more to it
