[Music] all right folks belts are tight you know what time it is that's right it's time to rock roll and rumble road course style here at sonoma raceway green flag is out and we are racing in the general tire 200. todd souza with the jump on the start he's going to lead the field down into turns one and two already up the hill turn three right here souza a little sideways there as the field strings out now trying to work their way single file who turns 3a and turn four everybody making their way through the first sets of corners nice and clean turn four coming up to turn five now into the carousel souza with the lead there we see eric dacimento to the top side of the racetrack jesse love down to the inside todd souza let's see if he will dip down onto pit road and he will he's going to take that penalty pass through right now tough break for todd souza and there you see a tough break for rod nieland in the 68 car he has come to a stop out on the race course as souza slowly makes his way down pit road as now we see chase briscoe with the lead [Music] there's a good battle for position on the racetrack this battle for third joey east and dylan lupton they make their way up the hill and there you see zane smith's car understanding it was a burst oil line that has brought an early end to the day before the green flag came out tough tough way to end the day for zade smith not even seeing the green flag here in the general tire 200. [Music] as we see the caution flag coming out for the first time here today believe that will be for rod kneeland stopped out on the racecourse and there you see rod's car stopped just shy of turn seven rod's a very interesting guy as a full-time firefighter right here in sonoma california station house number three he and paul pedrancelli also in this race both firefighters here in sonoma california both work in the same firehouse when paul's shift is over todd is the guy who takes over engineering duties on the fire truck there green flag back up and let's see what happens here as they make their way back into turn number one briscoe with a good jump on the restart up to turn two there's a good battle for position we saw these guys knocking fenders a few moments ago dylan lupton's gonna take over third from joey east as they make their way through turn three a little sideways there [Music] they make their way again through the carousel [Music] kaminsky looking to the inside now of jesse love he's going to be to the outside of this corner though so he's not going to be able to make it stick but that 80 car looking stout here in the early going kaminsky might actually be a tick quicker than jesse love at this point who loves gonna slide way off the racetrack right there brian kaminski's gonna pounce and take over that spot and now jesse loves got some pressure from his teammate cole moore there you see the lead chase briscoe has opened up a considerable advantage there over jake drew in second there's a battle for fourth eric nascimento in the 19 car putting the move on joey east there to turn seven oh we see some smoke out of the 54 car joey east going up in smoke oh tough break for this young man had a great run going and all of a sudden it just erupts as he makes his way out of turn seven and into the s's and that's gonna put us under the caution flag for the second time here this afternoon but wow joey east if this young man didn't have any bad luck he wouldn't have any luck at all wow what a tough way for him to end his day here with six laps in the books here at the general tire 200. eric nacimento had just cleared him coming out of turn seven and right when he just looks like he got hard on the throttle and boom you see parts and pieces flying out from underneath that 54 car and whatever that was that came flying out of there obviously needed to still be inside that engine compartment joey doing a good job lots of apparently a lot of fluid on the rear tires there he did a nice job keeping that car pointed in the right direction and getting it off the racetrack that's the most important part right there he pulled off the racetrack so there won't be a lot of fluid not a lot of cleanup on the racetrack ring flags back out see if jake drew can stick with chase briscoe as they climb the hill into turn one brian kaminsky he's going to take over that fifth spot gets a little sideways to turn two down into turn three there's eric nascimento battling with bridgette burgess somebody kicking up some dirt there looked like it was dave smith in the 77 car as the mackinally teammates going to bounce off of one another there into turn five oh swapping some pain as we see takuma koga coming to a stop at the top of the hill looks like he's got that car refired it's like cole moore was going to come out with the upper hand on that bill macanally enter team rivalry there through the carousel brian kaminski locking him up down into turn seven he's starting to put some pressure on dylan lupton kaminsky coming to life here we reach the midway stage of the opening act of the general tire 200 here at sonoma raceway i'm brian kaminski trying to find some racing room again locking up those front general tires into turn seven right there as he's putting some pressure on dylan lupton and the lupton excavation number four right there still in lupton made his nascar cup series debut right here at sonoma raceway a few years ago for bk racing [Music] a couple of wins to his credit here in the arkham and art series west over the years the advantage is we see that battle for position again between eric nascimento and bryant kaminsky getting heated up nascimento going to take over the fourth position so chase briscoe tacked on 1.6 seconds to his advantage that time by ooh eric dacimento gonna get off the racetrack and get it turned sideways [Music] right there in turn three [Music] oh tough break for eric nascimento had a lot of steam built up on that 19 car just quite couldn't quite get it wrote hope you know slowed down let's take a look at what happened here but turn two [Music] oh that car got a little sideways just darted off into the dirt no traction at all brian kaminski doing a nice job there saw brian make a last-second correction right there as we see our leader chase briscoe flash across the start finish line to put lap 15 in the books tend to go until our midway break [Music] oh and there's bridget burgess turned sideways oh tough break for a driver who had been up in the top five throughout the early stages of the race oh boy what happened to bridget burgess let's see if we can take a look here she'd lost a couple of spots and looks like jessie love gonna try to sneak to the inside bridgette tried to turn slam the door shut and she is gonna get turned around oh no wow unfortunate for bridget burgess down there in turn 11. and there you see the damage to jesse love [Music] souza trying to keep that car to the bottom side of the racetrack there through the carousel want to drift too far out of the groove right there and open that door for brian kaminski kaminsky has been aggressive into turn seven all day long [Music] oh and todd souza is going to overcook it just a little bit right there he was facing some heat from brian kaminski and he drove it in a little too deep ooh kaminsky going to turn it sideways again slip and slide dip and dive tantus are going to retake that fourth spot good battle for position here between ton souza brian kaminsky and cole moore [Music] boy that right there could be a candidate for the reese's sweet move of the race too [Music] [Applause] that's a folks look at turn one as they race up the hill top of the hills turn two [Music] jake drew was talking to team owner bob berncatti a little bit throughout the 2021 season as they were friendly rivals in the pro late model division up at irwindale speedway jake was racing against the burkati's grandson over at irwindale speedway and kind of talked about maybe teaming up a little bit to do some racing here in 2021 but a couple of weeks before the season started bob riccotti gave jake a call and said um yeah could you be here on monday you start monday we're gonna let you drive we're gonna let you work on the race cars just like that jake drew got a full-time ride here in 2021 works in the shop monday through friday it's come out and play race car driver on the weekends and he's doing a great job his first arkham and art series west start on a road course currently sitting in second behind that guy chase briscoe and there you see that battle for position brian kaminsky in sixth he's kind of lost contact a little bit with cole moore and now feeling some heat from eric nascimento in the 19 car eric also has got a pretty solid race car here we saw him get turned sideways up in turn two let's see if he could pull the move here on brian kaminski jesse love can he follow him through oh gonna make some contact there kaminsky gonna go around oh brian kaminski didn't think jesse love is going to be able to fill that gap he got the shove and around and out of the sixth position only gonna give up a couple of spots on the racetrack right there but he does have some damage now to that right rear quarter panel again we talked about it full contact stock car racing arkham and art series west action here at sonoma raceway approaching the halfway point and there you see the result of that full contact stock car racing oh here we see battle for second dylan lupton to the inside of jake drew lap car coming into play right there that's paul pedrancelli in the 31. [Music] paul's going to allow dylan lupton to sneak inside of jake drew and take over that second spot [Music] it's now 14 seconds behind chase briscoe as they make their way through turn three in 3a in competition here at sonoma raceway and having it his way right now 14.3 seconds the advantage over dylan lupton as he makes his way through the s's and then turn 10. ooh there we see another spin by brian kaminski there in the number 80. oh brian was all the way up into the top five earlier we do see looks like the right front tire has gone down on that number 80 car so he'll have to nurse that back down to pit road but brian was having a phenomenal day up until that contact with jesse love a few moments ago and now it seems the wheels have come off of the i'm gonna mix my metaphors here the wheels have come off of the ship and there you see all by himself and it looks like he may have had a flat tire before he went off into that corner that's turn four right there but wow tough tough break for brian kaminski in the number 80. would have been a very stellar start to the general tire 200 as he limps back to the pits [Music] there's the field working their way around to complete lap 25 chase briscoe has already passed the start finish line to take the crossed flags as cole moore takes one more attempt at sliding past todd souza right there the caution flag is out as we do reach the midway break here in the general tire 200 25 in 25 yet to go and it has been all chase briscoe up at the front of the field slowly making their way through turn 12. briscoe waiting on that green flag there it is green flags back out briscoe again with a great jump as they make their way up the hill into turn one let's see what jake drew can do with dylan lupton drew to the inside he's gonna try to take over that second position here comes todd souza he's up to fourth [Applause] good battle for position there between dean thompson and eric nascimento thompson caught up on the curb right there made some contact with nascimento tony toasty alongside the 86 car as well everybody doing a good job keeping those cars off of one another now three turn five and up the hill into the carousel any miscue any misstep by todd souza and that's going to open the door for that freight train to come thundering on through right now todd souza has to be very careful very defensive look at that defensive line that he's going to take into the carousel right there oh tony toasty in the number 42 car getting turned sideways seal master toyota looks like that might be between turns two and three let's see what happened here as he's ooh that's not a little contact folks that's a lot of contacts pj pedrancelli making some contact there with tony toasty battle for ninth and tenth coming down the hill tony taking a slide into the dust gonna give up that ninth spot [Music] there's your leader stretching out that advantage it's just a tick under three seconds last time around in the number six car trevor's running in and among the top ten but unfortunately that vibration he picked up a little while ago still has him pinned to lap down currently sitting in the 15th position it's actually a battle for position he and brian kaminsky running 15th and 16th on the racetrack brian of course it's had a couple of spins making a a trio of spins brian kaminsky spinning it off at turn seven third time today he's been sideways in the number 80 car quick little 360 right there he's gonna get it pointed back in the right direction let's take a look at what happened over there he's trying to get in there and battle for that 15th spot got up on the curb got on the gas a little too quick the horsepower versus traction coefficient got turned a little wonky right there and you see souza rolling into the picture there there's eric nascimento cole moore dean thompson's currently in seventh i'm out to kuma koga didn't see him on screen right there but takuma having a good day is tony tostie off track one more time see some smoke right there as well and the window neck coming down look at that see some flame in the grass over there folks yeah flames in the grass we saw that last year at utah motorsports campus looks like those flames gonna put themselves out but tony climbing out of that race car his day coming to an early that's the end we don't allow smoking around the facility if you know what i mean it's in the 14th position when things went awry and that's going to put us under the caution flag for the fourth time here this afternoon see if we can take a look at what happened here some smoke out of the rear end flames out of the front of that car he's gonna slide it off the racetrack bring it to a stop lucky he didn't make any contact with the outside wall right there but tony toasty doing a good job getting that car off track oh look at the flames look at the flames out of the back of the 42 car there folks that is a serious engine issue right there tony making the wise choice driving it off all that dirt all that dust getting kicked up into the engine compartment and extinguishing those flames but we did see some of that grass very dry out here in northern california this time of year some of that grass catching fire eric nascimento bridget burgess paul pedrancelli the 13 drivers that make up the lead lap here as we come to green with nine laps remaining chase briscoe leads the field back to green green flags in the air and we are racing for the final nine laps in the general tire 200 here at sonoma [Music] let's see what happens here as we scramble at the top of the hill [Music] field all going to make their way through turns one and two cleanly now turn three here comes dean thompson to the inside of cole moore now to the outside of coal more as we go through 3a this is where it all happened last time turn four here comes pedran shelly with some contact to dean thompson he's gonna shove thompson off course dean thompson gonna give up a lot of positions there through turn five fields streaming off the carousel onto the drag strip and into turn seven there's the lead chase briscoe over dylan lupton there's the battle for third todd souza putting some heat on jake drew oh he caught the curb right there nice job keeping that car pointed in the right direction look at pj pedrancelli in the 33 car coming to life late in the going here [Music] one of the hometown boys trying to make some noise and knock on the door of a top five finish here this afternoon there's the lead briscoe has over dylan lupton top four cars no pressure there's the battle fifth sixth seventh and eighth actually fifth sixth and seventh that 77 card dave smith couple of laps off the pace ooh eric nascimento off the pace oh boy it has been a stellar day for that 19 card it's all gonna come to an end here with eight to go ooh dylan lupton with a four-wheel drift there into turn three that's going to open the door for jake drew can he make it happen into turn four no not gonna make it happen now jake drew getting a little over anxious there to turn three into turn four he's gonna go off track gonna give up that fourth spot todd souza sliding by there through turn five and we're gonna go caution sixth time today caution flag is out undoubtedly for the 19 car oh that's a tough break can we put four clean laps together to settle it here in the general tire 200. chase briscoe leads him through turn 12. let's see what happens here as we race back up the hill green flags back out briscoe on the break he's going to jump back up into the lead here comes dylan lupton [Music] here's the battle for third between todd souza and jake drew what's going to happen here to the top of the hill souza contact with dylan lupton drew swapping some paint contact off of turn two into turn three here comes pj pedrancelli there goes jake drew for a ride jake drew off track he's gonna take dave smith along with no contact with the wall but jake drew gonna give up all kinds of track position they started knocking fenders off a turn two couldn't quite get off of one another and that's the result [Music] still green nope caution gonna come out for the seventh time today oh i should have knocked on wood folks there you see the initial contact dylan lupton pushed todd souza kind of out of the way and then souza and jake drew started knocking fenders right there [Music] and then they came down in to turn three here and oh it looks like there's a three wide stack up there with dave smith cole moore and jake drew looks like smith got into more moore got into drew and drew slid him up off the racetrack see if we can get a better look at it from this angle right here there's that contact between drew and souza susan did a nice job that could be a reese's sweet move candidate right there we're gonna lose him behind that stack of tires when we get to the top of the hill here it's where it all broke loose there you see drew sliding off the racetrack and taking dave smith along with [Music] boy these restarts have been chaotic chaotic for the arkham art series west here this afternoon there you see it green flags up one lap to go here at sonoma briscoe on the break he's going to take the lead lupton into second todd souza takes over third here's the battle for position into turn four souza holding on to third pedro shelly into fourth cole moore holding on to fifth saw some smoke from a car back there that's the trevor huddleston car [Music] here we see briscoe leading the field into turn seven there's the battle for third pedro chelly trying to look to the outside of todd souza [Music] getting word from the ark of an art series west officials it will be white flag this time around white flag this time around apologize for the confusion on that folks but we will be looking at the white flag this time around for leader chase briscoe there's the battle for third into turn 11. pedran shelly to the outside of todd souza here comes chase briscoe looking at the white flag this time around one more lap to go we mean it this time one more lap to go here at sonoma raceway here's the best battle on the racetrack third fourth and fifth souza in thirds gonna lock up the tires into turn one can he keep it on the racetrack he's off into the dirt oh souza gonna give up a couple of spots into turn two now can he hold on to fifth he's gonna knock fenders with dean thompson to turn three in 3a todd souza overcooked it into turn one he's gonna give up third and fourth [Music] [Music] field streams out of the carousel back on to the drag strip into turn seven here comes chase briscoe all clean at the front of the field no pressure from behind half a lap away from victory in the number 14 car dylan lupton holding on to the second there's the battle for third behind pj pedrancelli in third colemore and fourth let's see what happens through the s's smooth line through the s's into turn 10 for chase briscoe two more corners yet to go for the 2016 arkham menard series national champion into turn 11.
