hey guys you know zero how you doing I hope all is well and YouTube land whatever part of the world that you are in all right well let's take a walk around the home place we gotta be sick made today we'll take a walk around home place and look at the baby creators we'll start here with our burger box this is our newest chickies that we got from the feed store these gold ones here are above Washington we believe they had them all labeled as Cornish Rock crosses and they are obviously not Cornish cross crosses the white ones are that you see that this tradition here is the same age as the as the gold ones so it's obvious that that was the course rock cross the course rock cross ra yellow chicks like the earlier dinner we went ahead and got another batch that was actual corners Rock crosses I knows we raised strictly for me that grow really really fast really really large and they eat a lot so if you're gonna get some crosses course rock cross meet Birds be prepared because Manthey about as much as I do so but they grow really quick and then the little buff Orpingtons are a dual purpose with which we will add to our laying flock if they all turn out to be hymns which I'm pretty sure they will be so like I said I'm pretty sure they're orphans don't know for sure we won't know until they raise up that they had them this label to the feed store and the white ones that you see the yellow and white ones are the corners Rock crosses and you can see the difference in the size how fast they grow these other corners rock crosses are about a week behind the big one that so they grow really fast and once they start eating what you see that they always at the food bowl that's what they do man I'm not quite sure what they agreed to get the corners Rock crosses I know there's Cornish is and there's white rocks and so on and so forth but it's a second-generation hybrid which means that you have to breathe the first generation and then the second generation you breathe those together and then you end up with your horns rock cross I guess that they're strictly a meat bird they do well they will lay eggs but they usually will not be fertilized days and you will not be able to prop plus they get so big so quick that their legs or joints can keep up with them and and it's just not healthy for them so six seven eight weeks it's time to go ahead and butcher and put them in the freezer we got them because our freezers running low and we wanted to put some more meat in here within the next couple months chicken wise so baby chicks let's go we'll show you the guess well show you the pheasant eggs that we have and the incubator net okay guys we're in here at our incubator you can see we've got the temperature side at 37.6 centigrade our humidity is balanced between 61 and 62 percent we will bump that up here in a little bit we've been putting our pheasant egg eggs in eight at a time since there's eight eggs in a row in The Hague Turner that's what we've been putting them in there the first batch has been in for ten days and then we have the next batch after that which was a couple of days after that and then we're going to put in the next row of eight when I open up the incubator to put the eggs in the arms going to go off because the temperature and the humidity alarm but pheasant eggs with from what we understand hatched pretty much the same as the chicken eggs do but they take 23 days instead of 21 days so around about 13 more days we will see if these are going to be hatching and I really hope they do because pheasants are fun they're awesome that round so what I do is first of all I'm going to get one of the older eggs we're going to try to candle it which we've been having a hard time there's the coming two eggs out here but have a really hard time candling the eggs because their shell is so thick you see the shell is so thick that you can't really see anything through it so we are just kind of having to go with why we what we what we know you know we're just gonna have to trust that the incubator is doing its job and we had to trust that the pheasants did their job and knowing got four legs so we're going to put these into the egg Turner's and remember we put them in with the point down for proper chick development we have 24 in there already our incubator will hold 48 and we're hoping to do these in rotations to wear whenever our first batch hatches out then we will have another row setup its weekly to put more eggs because you can sometimes get up to 40 or 50 eggs over the entire season from the hen from what we've read not saying that that's what we're going to get but that would be very nice if we did so there's our pheasant eggs once they start Pippen and hatching we will definitely grab the camera and we'll see what happens to see if it's just like a chicken egg or if it's a different I don't know first time for everything it's a learning experience so I guess let's go out and take a look at some baby bunnies and our other baby chickies and of course porkchop we are happy that spring is here because the dandelions are coming out now and rabbits love dandelion the flowers the leaves the whole plant and it's really really good for them and they love them let's see if we can catch her little is one of our little New Zealand oohs then we're going to keep as a breeder and we'll see what she'll make her love my dandelion he that is a content bunny right there you go they love the dandelions blackberry leaves strawberry leaves all kinds of just regular grasses and stuff that you can supplement your feed with your with your with your rabbits and the kids let them come out and pick these little dandelion flowers and let the rabbit even and we got some babies in here to show you these are mini Rex babies what are you doing moving let's get one here you got to kind of be careful when you're holding in when they're little because they're poppers they'll just kind of hop and pop but here's one of our little mini Rex babies when you see little deed we did indeed don't quite got their eyes open you know I can't get him to squeak what you doing man okay I see your mama put them back in there so there are some of our babies we've got I don't know if we can get the camera back in there and see if you can see the little bundle of babies back in there or not but we lost our first batch from the dough on the bottom we lost I think she got in there and suffocated them because it was really really cold out I think she was trying to keep him warm and and she smothered him so it happens it's not it's not fun then it's tragic but it does happen sometimes things like that happened but now we've got some more babies that Abreu when these raise up we will sell these these are our ones we sell as pet rabbits and we've got some baby meat bunnies up in a big barn but they pretty much look exactly like these little bunnies except they're going to be a little bit bigger there a New Zealand champagne to origin / California cross so baby bunnies everywhere and we're digging it so we will go look at our little bigger chickies that we have next and then we'll take a look at pork chop so but don't don't forget now that the springtime is here and things are starting to green up your animals haven't had any greens especially rabbits that are in cages they haven't had any greens all winning it was a long winter for everything so grab some dandelions grab some grass grab some wherever it is Green does not in the only guys that kind of make sure you don't get something that's poisonous but dandelions are really easy to identify plantains and so on and so forth feel free to pick those up and feed them to your bunnies especially the Mamas that helps them produce the milk and he gives them healthy and they will love you for it so let's look at the other chickies all righty here are some of our bigger chickies this one here she's our sweetie pie the collar on this Bo Peep cuz you can pat her and she loves on everybody these are barred rocks the speckled ones and then we have some of our Jersey Giants here they're also really really docile in pain and then back up in there we have some of our austell orcs that we hatched out of the back at the late winter that's before we switch to roosters so those are black hasta lurks hide Reno's won't be long and we will be adding these to our lame flock and some of the austere loops or our our little roosters so they will be visiting the freezer when the time comes but it is you know what it's really fun to just sit out here and watching chase bugs and I mean the daytime hillbilly daytime TV at its finest right here y'all hi Bo Peep hi sweetie - I've never had a chicken that did is this friendly and so I don't know if all barred rocks or this docile and friendly but they are really really nice so there you have it there's our other chickies out here in the peep show now we're going to walk over and take a look at pork chop in the pheasants so we'll see when we get over there all righty here is pork chop we are just a couple of days away hi sweetheart yeah he is my sweetheart - she is just gentle and loving and she loves back rubs and belly rubs and it's really really good that we got her when she was young so that we can kind of tame her down a little bit like this she's really super smart and a couple of days we're gonna turn her loose out of her little pen here and put her in with the rest of the crew out here in the barnyard she's had plenty of time to introduce herself to the ladies and to the goats then we go through her lay man up at the Sun yeah but here's some war barbed you know the regular Lane flock and they've all sniffed each other and they've all you know kind of hung out together - this little pin here so now we're going to be turning her loose and letting her in the barnyard until it comes time to breed her and then she'll have her own spot ain't that right Swee oh that's my pretty girl oh goodness yeah she loves in belly rubs y'all say hello YouTube alright and then right here of course by our laying hens as one of our pheasant pins and the pheasants are still doing their thing well I have noticed is as I built these nest boxes built these nest boxes here for the pheasants but they do not lay they don't lay any eggs in their nest boxes they just kind of drop them wherever sometimes one of them lay them up on top of the nest boxes here she'll lay it up there and the other one likes to lay her down in there around the edge they'll chill just take a little hole and drop an egg and and there you have it so but there's a there's our rooster peasant and there's another little hen and so far we've been getting between three and four eggs a day from all four of our hands we have two hands up here in this pin and then we have two more hands down there in that pen so like I say we're getting about three or four eggs a day I'm able down in the creek so hopefully we'll have a few more days of getting getting some pheasant eggs well had your mountain have a really good really good hatch rate on them too ladies that pork chop oh my goodness she's she's really docile and I'm very very tickled to have porkchop here she's uh she's wonderful she's my little sweetheart she does not like thunderstorms the other day we had a we had some lightning and some thunder comes through and I had to come out here and give her a piece of pizza and give her a belly rub and calm down a little bit he's neither sweetie but there you have it guys so far yeah everybody's doing well and everybody is very happy to see spring and we were welcoming spring we're going to start mowing grass here real soon and we will put the little bag attachment onto the push mower and bag up as much grass as we can and put it out here for the ladies for the laying hens and for the phase for him yeah and and for the goats that way everybody can get some dreams in them and start catching up on those vitamins and those dreams that they can get they can't get anywhere else except repeating dreams so man we were happy spring is here we go so we will see you guys in the next video hey bye porkchop so you guys thank you very much for watching have a great day enjoy the spring time if it is spring where you are if it's not spring yet oh I feel sorry for you and in there it's on the way have a great day god bless the end buzz-buzz the end
