cook you can clean you can do your taxes all while enjoying a book and keeping up with new books that are coming out first book i am hauling today is actually from chirp and it's an audiobook and i'm so excited because it's by one of my favorite authors joy at work by scott sunshine and marie kondo i feel like everyone knows marie kondo at this point but just in case you don't she wrote the life-changing magic of tidying up with you guys this book changed my life i actually listened to her first book in audio form but when i moved out for the first time i wanted to really up my organizational skills and so i completely marie condo'd my apartment only keeping things that bring you joy and happiness and i just think it's such a really great concept but her new book i'm actually so excited for because she co-wrote this with scott sonnenschein who's an organizational psychologist this book is focused on organizing your professional life which i just feel like it's the perfect time for me to be reading this book mix is the connery method with scott's research and case studies to teach us how to declutter our workspace and increase productivity overall experience more joy at work you get it you get what it's called yes so i'm very excited to listen to this book and hopefully acquire some new organizational skills so thank you so much again to chirp for fueling my audiobook addiction you guys can actually get five dollars off your first purchase if you use my code nia reads i'll include my promo code as well as a link to the website down in my description so only now opening it chain of iron by cassandra clare this is book two in the last hour series so i actually received a promotional package from the publisher and it comes with like all these different stickers even with this thing which i think is actually an embroidery kit let me just show off my my shadowhunter tattoo i'm a very big shadowhunter fan okay i just i have a lot of tattoos i have not read chain of gold yet i'm start like i'm sorry i officially have four cassandra claire books that i am behind on chain of gold ghost of the shadow market and the red scrolls of magic as well as one other like novella bind up that i have not read yet i think this is book number 12 or 13 in the shadowhunter series this is a spin-off another spin-off listen i will read as many spin-offs as cassandra clare is willing to write date of iron is the second book in the last hours series and in this book we're following the children from the infernal devices series and i think it's like will and is that a spoiler yeah let me know if you guys would be interested in doing like a little short readathon maybe over like a saturday and sunday we can all together catch up on her books because i know some of you are probably behind too we definitely need like a weekend to catch up okay the next book i have here is the four wins by kristen hannah i have first discovered kristin hannah last year um kristin hannah actually has written a ton of books i think like over 15 or 20 books she's been around for a while i've actually heard of her before i just never was interested in the genre that she wrote the book that she wrote that hooked me and pulled me in to her world the great alone now this book oh my god this book had me bawling and i mean like ugly crying at three in the morning it was such a roller coaster of emotions that i went through this is christian hannah's newest book and it takes place in the 1920s 1930s i imagine like her first book it'll probably span a couple decades but the book starts off in the 1920s in this book we're following our main character who is living in texas and she ends up marrying a man that she really barely knows but because of the situation she's in a chance of getting married and starting a farm and again this is in the 1920s 1930s so the great depression hits a severe drought also hit and everyone who had farms in the midwest just their crops were failing as a result of this a lot of people were moving to the coast so they're moving to california and start their lives over at the coast but elsa um our main character elsa not elsa from frozen can you imagine if elsa from frozen was in this book this book would be over in like 20 pages she would just make it rain so quick also decides to stay in texas with her family and struggles to survive through this drought her marriage starts to fall apart and as this drought hits and her family is just you know trying to survive so just like the first book when i read the synopsis for this one i was like huh okay but having read a kristin hannah book i now know that the synopsis just barely barely scratches the surface okay the next book i have here actually matches my sweater today with the with the lavender aesthetic i love lavender i love everything within like the purple magenta spectrum not that that's important to this video um but the next book i have here is how moon fuentes fell in love with the universe by raquel vasquez gilliland in this why a contemporary book we are following our main character moon who is on the cover here moon has a twin sister who is a social media star she's an influencer she's um very big on the internet her sister is very very popular and even though they're twins she's always kind of felt like the ugly sister the ugly duckling the girl that's just behind the camera she does all like the film work for her sister one summer moon decides to get a job working as a merch girl on a tour bus full of influencers so i'm guessing it's like some sort of social media influencer tour as anticipated she ends up meeting a guy who at first she absolutely hates but because they're both working on this tour bus she starts to get feels catches a few feelings you know those those close environments those tight spaces like romance is destined to bloom so after meeting him things really start to change in her life and this is kind of i'm guessing a book that follows her summer working on that tour bus i feel like this is a wonderful summer read so i might save it for when it gets warmer i thought summer was approaching but it snowed today so you know okay the next book i have here is another beautiful lavender book i feel like they just like they know that we can't keep meeting like this by rachel lynn solomon this is another why a contemporary book and this one comes out in june 2021 so it's supposed to be a summer release as well in this book we are following our two main characters quinn and terek and interrek their families have worked together for a long time quinn's parents are wedding planners and tarek's parents own a catering company so they are constantly working with each other but something happened last summer and quinn decided to confess her love to tareq via email as one does tarek never responded and actually left to go to college and just completely kind of ghosted her without any response or explanation another summer has rolled around and quinn has not heard from him for a whole year and she is dreading seeing him again and of course they end up clashing and he finally gives her an explanation and they have to continue to work together over the summer despite their tension i as you guys know have been super super into these like fluffy why a contemporary books which is not like me but it's just the year of romance now okay so the next book that i have here is take me home tonight by morgan matson you guys it has been so long since i've read a morgan matson book i think morgan matson's most well-known book is since you've been gone but the one i actually read last was save the date and i really really enjoyed that take me home tonight we're following our two main characters kat and stevie they are best friends they're high school students they are just inseparable they decide to sneak out of their suburb and visit new york city for one night they have the night all planned out where they want to go where they want to eat what place they want to see like everything but as soon as the night starts everything goes wrong throughout the course of this night they're put in situations that really make them question their friendship that make them question their past decisions and their future choices this book primarily takes place over one day or one night absolutely love it's one of like my new favorite things in books i just love books that have a 24 hour time limit i think that time constraint makes the book so fast-paced and makes the author really just like okay you got 24 hours to tell this story very excited to read this book it actually doesn't come out until may i am so sorry you guys majority of these books are arcs um there are a few books that have come out but yeah these ones don't come out to the summertime the next book i have here is the cost of knowing by brittany morris now brittany morris if you don't know wrote slay first of all before i even tell you what this book is about can we just take a second to appreciate the cover because it is so so beautiful blue and red i don't know what artist made this cover but you better have paid them well is all i'm saying cost of knowing so this book we're following 16 year old alex rufus and he is trying his best to be the best person he can be the best employee at the little ice cream shop he works at the best boyfriend the best brother to his little brother isaiah but he always feels like he just falls short he really struggles with being present because he has a power that when he touches a person or an object he can see the future another book where her main character could see the future it is one of my favorite things one of my favorite super least favorite but favorite to read about super powers is people who could see the future brief aside from this book one of my favorite shows as a kid was that so raven it's the future i can see when people tell me they watch that so raven as a kid i just know like we can be friends we could we're compatible back to this book anytime our main character touches an object or person they can see the future one day he touches a photograph and visualizes his brother's death and it really really freaks him out and scares him now he is racing against time and just trying to figure out how it's going to happen and stop it from happening the concept of this book sounds so interesting i just love any books that you know are contemporary but also have that little extra element of like what they can see in the future okay the next book i have here is actually another book that follows twin sisters oh my god it's so bright i hope you guys can see it it's like the sun over here this next book is yolk by mary h k choi mary h.k choi i believe wrote emergency contact and one other book that was very popular i personally have not yet read anything by mary but i'm very excited because i own one of her books now in this book we're following twin sisters june and jane and they were very close when they were growing up but something happened that made them more than just grow apart they're adults now and they really don't have a good relationship that is until one of the sisters june i believe gets cancer and her other sister is the only person um that's there to help and support her brought together again unfortunately by sickness and they start to unravel their past and go through things that happen in their childhood all their family secrets and go through all the things that made them separate based on the author's note this book includes a lot of the author's personal experience and it also heavily discusses eating disorders so uh just a warning for anyone who um picks it up so the author writes that yolk is a hilarious and at times effect up account of two sisters jade and june who bungle sistering and then get incrementally and exponentially better at it it's about shame and guilt and they're still defying effects and the stunning way you almost forget your burdens once you've shared them oftentimes contemporary books focus really heavily on romantic relationships that we forget that the relationships that can sometimes most of the times cause us a lot of pain are ones that we have with family members and sisters and close friends so i'm very excited to read yolk and i think it's gonna be a really good book okay the next book i have here is one that when i read the synopsis i could already like i could already relate to it even though i haven't started it yet flip side of perfect by liz reinhart in this book we are following our main character adelaide and she feels like she has spent her life as two completely different people during the school year she stays with her mom and her step family in michigan and she goes by aj who's a very buttoned up like good high achieving student a little bit nerdy during the summer she goes to live with her dad in florida and actually goes by della instead of aj and is just a completely different person far more wild and free spirited when she's with her dad and she just spends every day with her older siblings and her friends just living it up on the beach so she has done everything she possibly can to keep her two lives separate that is until her sister from michigan comes to visit her in florida and her two worlds just collide and she's forced to now reconcile both sides of herself my parents divorced when i was 12 or 13 years old so for the past like 10 years oh my god i'm gonna be 23 this year so for almost 10 years i've been going back and forth between hawaii where my mom is from and the mainland um which currently it's denver but it was indiana for a little while i just i know exactly what it feels like to feel like you've developed almost like two different personalities not that i'm like two different people but culturally my families are very different too so when i'm with my mom i just feel like a totally different person than when i'm with my dad my friends back home in hawaii are very different from my friends that are like out here in the city there's like island nia and then there's like city nia and it just you know feel like this book is just gonna perfectly illustrate what i've experienced most of my life another gorgeous cover i believe like these are the two versions of our main character attaway okay the last book i have here is the sky blues by robbie couch now this book is another why a contemporary book and i am just in love with the like i'm gonna make a video one day of all my favorite book covers and this this is going to be added to it because we have our main character who's in this beautiful unicorn hoodie in this book we're following our main character sky baker now he lives in a very small town and he is openly gay but he has spent most of his high school life just kind of just trying to stay invisible and not draw attention to himself but it is his senior year and he decides to make a splash at his high school beach party i guess like the high school throws annual beach parties for the seniors he decides that he's going to ask his crush ali to prom and he has exactly 30 days to do it the doctor says here what better way to start living loud and proud than pulling off the gayest prom puzzle that rock ledge michigan has ever seen plans this entire promposal and like how he's gonna ask ali out but a extremely homophobic hacker ends up like discovering like what his plans are and leaks it onto the internet i'm guessing it's some sort of video he made so our main character is completely prepared to just run away when he finds out what happens but to his surprise his classmates are actually really supportive him and his classmates pull an uno reverse card and they basically instead of doing like a 30-day countdown to the promposal they do a 30-day manhunt to find this hacker guy and like reveal his identity to the school i am so excited for this book and becky albertelli actually blurbed it on the front so those are all the books i have for this haul thank you guys so much for watching until next time keep reading and i'll talk to you guys later bye
