Aphmau Crew builds a SECRET BASE | NOOB vs PRO

hey friends mac and cheese please here today shadow temple and i are facing off in another new verse pro build battle where we're going to see who can build the best secret base don't forget you can snag our official merch at macintesleys.com that link will be in the description down below so we have to build a secret base and it must include the challenge item oh what do you think the challenge item is for the secret base i don't know but i better be extra secret let's find out let's find ourselves a creeper a creeper [Music] well then someone's just got to build a better secret base huh wow okay well you know what time to start now as always we have a timer for okay so for my secret base i definitely want it behind this really cool waterfall but i'm wondering what's the best way to do it maybe like right here okay so we're gonna need a bunch of items let's put this here for now don't let me forget about it i might forget about it we're gonna need some sticky pistons we're gonna need redstone a lot of it we're going to need the repeater nope we're going to need the get that today we're going to do the repeater we're going to need this type of redstone i'm also going to want a dispenser dropper there it is an observer okay yeah we can get in but here okay so what we're gonna do is go one two and then i don't know we'll open this up a little bit one two three four oh no there's gravel i wasn't expecting gravel okay we'll have to do something with that later let's open up this wall a little bit like this and then okay so we're gonna place these little guys here maybe we'll open up this a little bit more please don't be gravel okay looking good so far so that's gonna be there and then we'll put this guy no i said no sir no there we go okay so we'll do that so that that should be good wait actually my door is here i think i did it in too much no [Music] there okay like that and then we're gonna go like this we're going to have this here this here then that is going to go to our repeater which will be turned on in which case we will then go like this so now we need to figure out where we want our little secret button to be which i think i might just put it in here this will probably be fine it's just gonna be hidden like here and then maybe we'll do something like vines lots and lots of vines so we'll just like go like this and then that way it looks normal right like this was like this the whole time i didn't put this here and then this will eventually grow over the hole and it will hide it and it will be good enough or maybe i don't know maybe we do have it a little bit more hidden maybe it's like over here like here that feels a little bit better i think so that should probably work okay so now we're gonna come over here and do one two three four see there's our little block our secret block that nobody knows about all right and then we'll open up this whole thing here please no more gravel please no more gravel so now we're going to put this here and have our little redstone guy powered hi buddy you're powered okay so then from there we have to put this here see how it's like pump and that's good so we'll go like this and he's like oh hey buddy i'm here too and i'll put that there so this is the start of our contraption there's gonna be a little bit more that we need to add so we still need to add our redstone block and then we need to connect it so remember here we have this happening so we're going to connect them down so maybe we'll do something like this and then we'll do something like this so this theoretically doesn't work what did i do wrong why doesn't it work [Music] okay i think i have this figured out so now what we have to do is put some redstone here and put some redstone here and then it should work let's see we just go like that okay perfect okay so now the door is working we take the key when we're like oh i gotta go leave and do secret base stuff and explore minecraft and then we can come back and be like aha the key to our secret base and then the door open so that's perfect so now we can close this up and start on our actual secret base uh shadow how much time do we have left i spent a lot of time doing something that is probably a little extra but you know me i mean extras what i expect uh 20 minutes 20 minutes left let's do it we got this i believe in us baby 20 minutes okay so i'm going to let's just do some regular torches here so let's do a little torch action to light the way we're gonna do a drop down which are some of my favs let's do a sign so then technically i think a water bucket won't yeah cool oh yeah maybe we do it actually here so that way it's like boop and then we'll do boop okay yeah i like that how far do we go this seems good enough i guess so then here we'll open all of this up and then maybe do something like boop so theoretically we'll just be like [Music] okay cool that works let's open this up you know me i love quartz for a secret base so oh no this stupid gravel hey shadow do you have a lot of gravel on your end no actually surprisingly well for reasons that you'll see later i definitely don't have to worry about too much gravel where i'm at i have so much gravel that i'm dealing with and it's ruining everything oh no okay so let's do oh we have to do the creepers too but let's get our cords out i think i want to do some like quartz pillars here ideally i'd like for all of this to be quartz okay cool so that's that and then let's do water or no we'll do this really quickly and then we'll do maybe a block of quartz like this yeah yeah for the floor and then i know what i'm going to do with my creepers i think it would be really fun to have them kind of like a decorative piece in the floor right i think that would be really really cool we just need to make this an even square is that well it's not really even is it i guess we can i don't like the stupid side there's gravel you know what screw the gravel we're not going to deal with it today we're covering it up this is the stupid gravel wall that i hate i don't want to deal with it gosh okay jeez i guess to compensate we'll just open this up a little bit more like such and then we'll go like this we got 15 minutes by the way left 15 minutes i didn't even okay okay okay have you worked on your creeper part yet oh i worked out my creeper stuff all right why are you saying it like that because i worked i i did i actually worked on it and it's i think i did a good job yeah but you're saying you're like all evil no can't prove it probably shadow already has this creeper stuff done okay cool do we want the creepers in the wall no i kind of want them in the floor what kind of design can we do something like this yeah that can work so then how big are creepers like two deep three deep i think they're two so we'll if this layer is going to be glass then we need to have them be two down which maybe we do do like an intricate quartz block here on the floor so we'll just go like this and then name them of course so they don't despawn oh what if we did like a lava component too that way there's some light so what if this is lava let's do a lava thing like this yeah except we want these blocks to be pretty ooh i kind of like that that was an accident but i like that okay so let's do glass we'll do something like that okay so now let's get our creeper guys yeah they do have enough room cool oh my gosh that will look good like this yeah we'll put more down there we'll call them jeff jeff the creeper you're jeff you're jeff you're jeff you're jeff you're jeff and you're jeff everybody's jeff and then we're gonna get on out of here actually we should probably make more more jeffs oh don't you get away from me before i name you jeff that's probably enough cool i like it oh you know what i should probably expand this wall so it's not coming all the way up to here 10 minutes left ten minutes ten minutes i'm not done i'm not done well a good thing you still have a third of your time wait how are you getting out of your secret base shadow uh don't worry about it i haven't thought about it either so i don't know maybe we just fly out of the secret base we'll see i forgot to uh come up with a way to get out you know maybe this is just where you live forever or maybe i just changed the bucket to be a swim it's not that far i could just make it a swim hopefully we can figure it out though okay let's do lanterns oh actually let's do sea lanterns and those are always really pretty i like them in the corners so we can go like this actually that doesn't look unless we do something like that and then i want this to be like a feature wall for some sort of lavascape boop oh my gosh yes that's so evil and fun oh what if we do paints paint like this yeah that's cool okay that's actually not cool not cool not cool not cool yeah now we're talking secret base okay we need a bookshelf because every secret base has like a book layer right oh wait let's do something cool with the bookshelves something like that we can do lanterns because those always look really cool for light sources actually no candles i forgot candles are in this version so i don't think candles provide much light yeah not much light but it still looks cool it still looks cool so maybe we will just do something like that all right we need shelving shell or no it's called trapdoors it's not called shelves maybe something like this and we'll do a plant nope that's not what that's called it's called a pot where is my brain today we'll do maybe a fern because they look good in planters something like this okay we need a bed our bed will go right here where the creeper is [Laughter] and then we need some sort of oh i know item frames with yeah the glows the glowy glows we got five minutes are you lying to me i feel like it's not five minutes we now have five minutes uh-huh maybe it wasn't entirely five minutes when i said five minutes but now it is five minutes now it's five minutes okay now it's officially five minutes it's still not like secret lairy enough maybe we'll do a painting uh i don't know if i like any of those i guess it is what it is what else do we want to do with five minutes left oh you know what vines my entrance is pretty cool but shadow might win this one i don't know i feel like the inside decoration isn't that cool and we don't really have a way out unless we just break this that's what we have to do maybe okay let's see does it kill us i don't know if this will kill us game mode survival can we get up here without dying we can okay and then can we get down without dying we can two minutes i figured out how to get in and out of my base so that's good i'm still decorating though how's your decorating coming uh decorating is not something i've been focusing on at all there is no decorations it's all just purpose it's all just purpose driven oh i set up my own trap i gotta go okay he set off his own trap wait why does he have traps in a secret base i don't have traps in my secret base i guess we'll just continue decorating with the time we have left like that does that look kind of dumb i don't know what can we hang from oh i know those flowers these guys these are cool and these hang from the ceiling let's put one here and one there wait can you repeat that again i couldn't hear it through the panic in your voice i may have caused some panic and strife for myself but i think i fixed it and i'm just not gonna touch anything else in my entire base i'm getting out of here man yeah i kind of feel the same i don't really know how else to decorate and have it be beautiful because aesthetics are everything aesthetics are everything huh are you not concentrating on aesthetic shadow i don't even know the meaning of the word oh my goodness i think i've done let me just make sure i have a special component for my thing for you because mine requires a prop shadow that's a lot more than mine okay so let's get out here and make sure we are good to go i can make a sign or something we'll do a sign that says not a secret base okay there we go oh they'll fall forward it's fine take our prop with us door is not closed we gotta close the door there we go door is closed he'll never know all right i'm ready okay well we got ourselves uh some secret species to contend with here bases yeah secret faces i think my entrance is cool but the inside i think is kind of lacking so i don't know this might be another one where i think that you might win we'll see about that now i again i challenge us to go through our each other's secret bases in survival mode instead of creative what do you think okay yeah mine is relatively safe so we're making safe secret bases i don't know it's just my secret base where it's secret and it's my hangout chill spot what did you do are you trying to be safe same same obviously definitely the same uh anyway yeah get his survival mode let's go two waterfalls here yeah and i mean everyone knows the secret base has got to go inside of a waterfall somehow okay no i mean no maybe it's not i don't know why i would think that i don't know why why you would think the the waterfalls or the secret face is there like a lever or something definitely not the waterfall nah uh or is it just inside the waterfall why am i starting why did i say that okay good luck whoa wait you're not coming with me i'm coming with you did something not happen the way it was supposed to happen uh hold on hold on hold on hold on just a second just second why is there tripwire right here there we go solve the puzzle quickly quickly quickly quickly where do you go how do you get out the button on the door that's it yep all right wait i don't know what i was expecting anyway on to the next area okay so probably one of the painting tricks what do you mean painting shrinks this is my secret base this is this is the magical ending where you have uh just three paintings that are most valuable to me for sure there's no entrance into the and there it is i knew that that was a thing but then is there more where is the more did i pass all right all right fine another chance no i'm still stuck there tinker oh my goodness all right so uh so yeah you went through one of them and it didn't it didn't go so good did it wait one of them oh i don't know shadow oh okay all right i was starting to doubt well just kidding this one was like oh you got the ring wow oh okay i see what you're trying to do will you solve this puzzle uh oh well yeah i guess it sure yeah i see it i just jump over it yeah it sounds funny it's just getting over there cool you did it you solved the puzzle you did it all right button and then oh a sign a sign do you trust you do you trust me i mean i see water there so yeah goodbye [Music] oh my goodness wow okay you're saying that's all myself and then you have diamonds oh my gosh my secret base reveals my fortune shadow i am so impressed this is amazing you did so stinking good i mean i i thought it would take a little bit longer to solve some of the puzzles but biggest secret base maybe i've ever done uh for sure in terms of how many space how many blocks it uses my secret base is like a hang out lair not a like treasure trove of puzzles and traps that if anyone tries to come near it they'll you'll die like definitely this is so cool and you said that you found this under oh my god you found this underneath our mountain yeah i just kept digging straight down like a good minecrafter would and eventually i found a large cavern full of lava wow dude that's amazing all right so how do we get out of your secret base get it get out yeah you know to minecraft and do worldly stuff we don't we're in here [Music] now i'm in creative and you're in survival and you are going to need something for my secret base feels good to eat mutton again there we go all right thank you you're welcome i need a redstone torch what is the dark in there it's uh a key it's it's the key to the base yeah but these don't look like a key you need to come back to the door and the door is currently locked so you need to unlock it oh so you have to find my secret base and put the key in the right spot all right is it down here no no i mean this is where drew would probably put his jacuzzi because he would go all like ah that's what he would do i don't think that's right how much time do i have to figure out where your secret base is i mean you if you don't figure it out i'll let you know where it is here no no that is a good idea though no maybe this is all ruse no maybe it's maybe it's maybe it's actually actually at the top of the waterfall just like i uh it's a single blog it is a single block hmm how about here no here i'll say it's a little lower but you're on the right side okay we can we play hotter cold here i like that yeah yeah here um warm but cold on the colder cold okay you're getting warmer you're getting colder okay warmer cold cold warmer i like i like warmer okay cold freezing it is it is the antarctica and you are inside okay warmer here no but very hot okay it's like hot cocoa uh hot means sun so we want to make sure we stay in the sun here no what you're so it's like every block you're hitting but the black how about this one no uh this one yeah yeah what was that wait that was my secret oh i forgot i'm not creative uh hold on wait a second this hole wasn't here in the waterfall before exactly that's my secret base door [Music] oh wait but actually hold on it says not secret base so i'm still i still got to go find it keep looking my sign detered you what i'll decide oh it was just a trick okay okay okay i got a trick too but i don't believe it i did this is much more gentle than my plan i had a falling plan but then i couldn't get out so oh oh boy okay that floor is a little terrifying they're all named jeff they're all named jeff jeff the creeper is floating just underneath my feet but in a room but full of nice wow oh now i'm actually looking at this and i don't feel like i'm in i'm in actual danger uh wow oh this is super cute we got a cool like lava wall so it's nice and glowy in here that kind of secret base doesn't have lava come on that is true that is true both of us did feature lava in our build so that that makes a lot of sense totally yeah i i love the elements of danger mixed with secrecy you got a little you've got a little hit or lantern up here it's it's like a little secret layer yeah you gotta have some extra light otherwise it's kind of dark and it might scary and then like maybe real creepers might spawn but there aren't any other secret rooms you definitely built like a secret trap secret base which i fully admire that was amazing but what i appreciate about this is this is actually somewhere i'd want to live do you think i really want to live inside of inside of a vault with a next to a bunch a pit of lava in one bed no sir this this is somebody someplace that could like sit down and do homework in and relax maybe watch a little youtube yeah this could be my tv yeah yeah yeah yeah we just have
