Another thrift store haul and the beginnings of a new journal and an update on the Bird Waltz 😊

hi everyone it's me nikki don't mind my feet if you can team i'm sitting at the coffee table again hey i just wanted to come along and tell you guys what i've been doing so i'm gonna tell you what i got at the thrift store and then we're gonna go through i started a different journal and we'll go through the bird walls journal and see what um i've done with that too so all right you guys ready here we go okay well first let me show you what i got from the dollar store i've been seeing these and i thought i wouldn't really want to buy one but i got two of them just to see how they work in the journals then i got these cool burlap leaves i can put on the covers or something and i got glue sticks and i got this color of this sheer ribbon because to go with that blue bird journal thing i'm gonna make and then this will go with the farm journal that i'm making right now so that was a hint for what's ahead by the way okay so starting with the thrift haul stuff again now i got this big thing of lace for two dollars it's seven yards and look how pretty that is like i can do whatever i want with that i can make it smaller i can cut it i can do whatever i want isn't that super pretty i've never had anything like that before so i thought two dollars i can't go without that and oh these are cool i got these for well it's two dollars but it was half off so it's a dollar they're little doors you can put them on the outside of your journal if you set it up right you can make it so that they're like doors you know i guess it'd be like this and you could have if i get hinges i could have them open and that would be the center of the journal i thought this were so cute for one dollar heck yeah i had no idea they even had those anything like that there so then i got this packet of things for 50 cents it's just a couple little ephemera pieces i got um i mainly got it because of um actually these two things i thought they looked really cool but that one's cut off no it's not it's bent okay and then i got this thing these two stickers this mermaid sticker which i didn't know was in there and then families are forever and there like that and then these two which they're metal so i don't know it was it was only 50 cents so i thought why not you know why not just get it okay so let me put this back in here [Music] well actually i'll just set it over here for now okay then i got this stamp it's an iv stamp can you see that it was uh 50 cents okay and i got this one isn't that cute that was 50 cents but it was on sale for half off so it's 25 cents then i got this one which is super cool and it was a dollar but the only thing about big stamps is sometimes they're hard to get to go on right so we'll see how that one does okay now the other item i got from them is this one and it is just rub on transfers i just thought they looked pretty cool there's just a whole bunch of swirly ones and then these look pretty neat see like that there's some other ones you know i'm not gonna really use that or this or anything but the swirly ones i'll use so that that was pretty cool and especially for the farm journal because they're red you know that'll work good okay so look at that okay next i got okay i guess it like this guys i got these envelopes now by the way i only spent nine dollars and [Music] uh 9.63 on all this stuff i got these envelopes which are super cool like whenever i make those folios with the big envelopes i could use these because i've never seen an envelope that big before and it would go really really good i don't know if you can see the size but this is my hand so yeah i thought that was really super cool i've never seen ones that big before um then i got oh you'll see why i got this in a minute but i got another one of these like a recipe book 50 cents it's got pages inside i mainly i'm i'm the other journal just a spoiler is gonna be one like this i've already got it started so i'll show you that in a minute and then i got this for 50 cents i just thought it was pretty cool um oops it's just fairies on paper that they're cute and then on the envelopes i mean why not you know cause i'm gonna make a fairy journal too so that works and then i got what did i get oh i got this dye embossing thing i don't have an embosser machine but i thought if i squished this hard enough i wonder if it would work because i couldn't help it because the birds were so cute like the birdhouses let me see if i do it hard enough won't work okay maybe not okay maybe i need to get an embossing machine but isn't that cute though and then i got this this was a dollar only a dollar for all this material and i just thought it looked really cute so let's open it and see what we got um we've got look they're so pretty they're all different pieces oh my gosh look at that for the farm journal yes so cute for a dollar hope that was stapled on there somebody was doing a valentine's something what do you think let me got this one and i hope you're not going this one cute a leaf i have paper that's like that that would work good with that and gingham fruit kitchen one and this is cute oh that's cute this is a good one polka dots green super cute another yellow gingham this one this one this one there's two of those blue gangnam wow i did good and look at that that's so cute too okay that's cool so i needed some material for the cover for this farm journal that i'm making so i'll just sew some of these together and make the cover that will work out good and i guess i don't really want to wrinkle them do it okay well we'll set these like this and okay so that's my whole thrift store haul it was pretty awesome now i will show you how far we've gotten on in the bird waltz journal first so let's go there i've got it all put away in this bag so i keep it together i got this lace in here because i'm thinking i want to put some kind of lace like that color on the side of it so i have this now i haven't really worked on it though so i need to it's just been sitting here but like something like that because this will be closed and that'll be like that i need to figure out something else for the front corner front part of the journal but anyways it's not bound yet i have to fix the front cover bind it and do a little bit of decoration yet and then it will be done is this on camera you might have seen my feet because i i'm trying to get this in and i'm at the coffee table okay let's see let's like this [Applause] i apologize i'm trying okay okay so let's see this envelope with the journal card in it that goes in the front pocket this card in it i do have to ink some of the back of these journaling cards too so do that also and um just um i thought this was really cute i think i'm gonna make well this is a booklet so it just goes with the bird theme and this is page this one i did in gold this one i kind of did a bird and fairy turtle but see i'll coffee dye that and stuff before or ink it before i get rid of it and then this one which we all know is one of these to write in for journaling space stick that back in here there's another very pretty paper with the birds coffee dye paper um this one is a pocket here a little thing in it and then this booklet so we've got all birds and stuff in there so we've got that in there um this is just decoration you can't really use it as a tuck i may change that but it's kind of like not very sturdy so it might just leave it like that this is a belly band with a berry card in it some journaling space in there i might do some more decorating on that this is just a decoration there's no pocket here i said that was super cute and this one adrenaline card with the a birds fairy down here um a couple of journal cards over here and then the little leaves on the bottom and the stamp the morning glory stamps that i tried to do at the top that would be the middle one though so once we get i get this put together that'll be the middle page of the signature then i've got this pocket at this journaling card in there which i think the back you know and i've got that's pretty paige about the fairy in this pocket which is really cute coffee that paper to write on there's a this tag goes over the top of the page it's just journaling card i might put a pocket over there i don't know but yeah that just goes over top of this page i'll put a paper clip or something like that on there too so it holds it um oops this is just a book that i clicked on the side paper i need to make some fancy paper clips but that's a journaling card and inside looks like this it's got a card in there on it so yeah that's what that is and we had that clipped to this side of the page so and then last page no not last page another fairy journaling card which has the ink on the back um another really cute page so and then this one has a bird oh a bird journaling card just a little thing on there those are really cute and then the last page is this this pretty page sewn and stuff and then this couple cards in there the journal on i like that bird right there okay so that would be about it for that i needed like i said i just need to decorate a little bit more maybe put some more journaling space in there and do something with the front cover and bind it together and then it will be done all together so that is pretty cool i'm just keeping it together for my sanity because good stuff playing everywhere so it's kind of crazy okay so that's together okay so in the new journal that i started yesterday i just couldn't help myself i was so excited to start it so i have this recipe book right ken bought it for me a long time ago the pages inside of it are like this or not like that like this recipe pages and stuff and they have different dates on them from when the recipes were done but look at how much this goes with the farm journal doesn't it if i just make it work look at all that stuff it just looks like a farm journal except for that part but yeah so i'm going to do something with those took them out um got a couple extra sheets and then what i did is i um i put holes in all of these so this would be a page this is a page of course this one now these will be all scattered in without it's not going to be in this order um there's an acetate page this one [Music] so pretty these will all get decorated and have pockets on them now with the pages from the recipe book i i took five and sewed them together to make a sturdy page and that would be one page and i did them in different colors so there's some copper copper green green white white silver and then we've got a couple of these just for texture that i'll mix in there's another page this is another page i'm gonna make a pocket once i put it in but i thought that looked funny this would just go by itself this will go in by itself this and then this [Music] this one is gonna be a fold-over one an old farm magazine page this is uh just a tracing paper one so it'll hook in and give you a pocket like that this is another this is a pocket right here um another one of these which is something back to wallpaper this and this so all those paging meters get they're not going to be in this order they're going to be scattered around so i got my pages done now i just need to put some pockets in and decorate them and make some farm stuff and then do this cover and i was so excited about that i'm like oh my gosh what i can do with this one so got that going on and then i'll say one more thing i did and then i will let you go and then maybe i'll come back and craft a little bit with you guys but um here so i cut i print a lot of stuff off the computer and then i cut it out and use it for journaling cards and stuff like that look how many i did the other night look at that i think i went crazy so now i just have to cut them all out sew around them and ink them so that's another job i have to do too and i use this paper because it's stiff enough to use his journaling cards and you know stuff like that so plus i cut out a whole bunch of other stuff that i didn't put backing on so we'll go figure that out later but anyways okay but guys i'm gonna go for now i hopefully i'll come back and craft a little but i wanted to show you what i got from the thrift stop thrift store because it was really cool do i have any of this stuff that i cut out for the farm farm stuff okay here's some of the stuff i got i cut out for the farm already i'll show you this stuff like um chicks with wings another chick with wings some chickens chickens i'm just gonna oh chicken fairy it looks like a silky and a little chicken a cat that'll be looking around the corner bunnies one cat looking over the top of the page uh horse and skye i like this one of the chickens it's cute um that's it rooster reminded me of nugget another rooster and look at this the williamson farm for those of you that know you know um this one is cute and i got some owls i really would make an algorithm journal too it means that coffee died which i might end up coughing dying a lot of this stuff i'm not sure i really want to make an owl journal because um those are birdies i really think they're they're really pretty creatures but there's it's hard to find a lot of owl stuff around so anyways look see i wanted to show you this too cause on the full page you can see a little bit better that's a silky chicken that's a fairy [Laughter] oh by the way we named some of our chickens i don't know if i told you this one i think i said it on tick tock but the one rooster we have he was a peep you know he's butt head rooster man son so i figured we would name him butt head rooster man the second and call him number two and then ken now don't get mad you guys i don't even want to say this word and i told him we cannot name him that so he wanted to name him nut s-a-c-k because he has that he has a big warble or not horrible whatever that is on his chin you know he's got a big one of those and i was like we are not naming him that that's terrible and i don't even say that i said i i won't even call him by his name if we name him that he just he's just a guy and you think that's funny so we decided just to compromise name him nut he's a nut so yeah i gotta hurry up and name the other one so he doesn't have a chance because who knows what they're gonna come what he's gonna come up with i think all the other ones are girl chickens so just kind of been watching them to see how they act and when they move from there but they're
