okay so before i start i just want to say that i am pleasantly surprised with this combo oh my gosh i didn't know that this vest and shirt would go so well together i mean like this has short sleeves and such a wacky pattern i thought that it was going to look really carlton-esque and very nerdy which to be fair it kind of does but also i feel that it fits my aesthetic perfectly and i'm just very happy with it i'm gonna store this combo in my mind anyway hello my name is seiji and welcome to another knitting podcast and that is exactly what this is this is just another knitting podcast in the sea of knitting podcasts that apparently exists on youtube so um yeah since uh i i would guess since the start of of quarantine i uh slowly started to ramp up kind of like the the amount of times that i've been knitting and the past like five weeks it has it's actually completely out of hand at this moment and i've been immersing myself in the online knitting culture and i've been learning a lot and i figured that um just having like a sort of podcast video not not very regular or anything like that but just a place for me to just talk about the projects that i'm working on uh recent ones that that i finished um would it would be a good thing to to do this also because i oh i'm hungry also because i um what was i saying yeah also because i i need help and i have no friends i don't mean i don't have any friends i i don't have friends who knit and so sometimes it can get hard when i'm looking um for help so i figured that i'll just throw this out into the open end um i'll i'll ask some questions and hopefully there are some knitting geniuses out there who are willing to to help me out in the comments and hopefully um you can learn along with me and you can um i don't know get some some useful tips and tricks and stuff like that um so yeah i'll just kind of like being i'll be going through like the projects that i'm working on uh things that i uh have in mind some strategies i'm thinking about with regards to improving my knitting um also yeah if you haven't seen like uh the video that i recently posted about my finished knitting projects this is one uh that i actually quite recently finished i think yeah last month i finished it this is a vest i can model it a bit for you now you can see my entire outfit now um just have some beige shorts on but yeah this is just a vest the problem is i did use two different colors well they are the same color but not the same um how would you say it like sometimes you know when you die close um or when you die warm not the exact same color comes out and that that's what happened with this one and i couldn't really see it at first i don't think you can really see it now but there's i ran out of wall and i had to go back home and i and i got the the last piece of um the last uh how would you say it like balls of yarn and apparently this one isn't exactly the same color but um yeah you can't really see it all that well here but in in some settings it's it's very obvious so that's a bit unfortunate but nah i don't really mind i really enjoy the color anyway so um yeah if there's like a slight discrepancy at the bottom i i'm not too too fussed about that um so yeah um this so the reason actually why i um what i'm doing now actually is i'm just following uh tons of patterns made by people because uh essentially there are a lot of things that i have kind of like mulling around in my mind and i i don't have the skills yet to create all of them and so i figured that if i would just go and try out uh these these uh patterns that are kind of like toe it's like in the direction of the the things that i want to make that if i do that then i'll be able to uh create the things but by myself so that's kind of like the approach that i'm taking now because i figured you know i can make like um i could like watch a lot of tutorials of with regards to specific techniques but i'm i'm more so interested in and how to incorporate techniques into ones into specific garments does that make any sense anyway it's it sound for me it's it sounded like the the the best way to to kind of like go ahead and so um i've been tinkering here and there trying out different um things on my own so i'll i'm actually like i'm finally starting to feel the creative juices to flow and i'm starting to recognize the color combinations that i really enjoy and also um the the type of textures and um the techniques that that i really that i really like yeah so i'm starting to to sketch a lot so um i don't know if i have it here let's see where the heck did i leave it did i leave it oh yeah okay it's here yeah so um i have now two notebooks so this one i use to i guess sort of like uh oh it's falling apart a bit um i'm writing like uh patterns and uh like gauge stuff like for for projects and um yeah just like these are just kind of like the notes that i keep when i'm knitting essentially so it's it's a mixture of me writing down um my notes to to make sure that i'm following the pattern correctly and i'm writing my own patterns in there as well and then um what else am i doing i think that's about that's about it um i think i should also like start um taking note of techniques and writing them down so i won't forget um and here i have this sketchbook and i'm here you can't see it well um like don't pay attention to the sketch it's not very pretty but i'm um working on i'm like drawing things that i i think would be interesting to make in um in the future so uh yeah we'll see how all of that will evolve um but yeah i think the the first biggest project that i wanted to talk about is dark academia oh this is gonna sound so cringy um okay hold on a second yeah so i had the idea that i wanted to quote unquote construct create my own dark academia inspired wardrobe just because i really do enjoy the aesthetic but buying like high quality material pieces is very expensive and also things that i specifically want just don't exist so making them myself um seemed like the most straightforward way to to do that and so i've been starting off with a couple of patterns from some knitwear designers that that um i felt um resonated with uh the direction i was going towards so uh the first piece is actually this vest um so this one is i made using uh the the pattern of my favorite things i believe is vest number one so i'll leave the links to the patterns in the description box below and yeah i really like uh the aesthetic of it um and things that i for instance learned um in this project is actually how to um crea like create like a a garment in in in one piece if that makes any sense because for the most part uh prior to like really trying to improve with knitting i always would look at the patterns of wool and the gang that they have for free and the thing that i found is that all of their pieces or at least most of the pieces that i've seen from them are all made separately so um how would you say this yeah so you you knit separate pieces and then you seam them together and uh this vest is actually made in one piece so um i so the way it starts essentially you you start uh here at the top so you make a piece of the back and then you make a piece of the front and then you you um connect them here and then you go down essentially so um that that like that construction um i learned um i also learned how to make like a a cuff like this to like put it like a double folded cuff or like collar so that's something that i learned that i'm really happy with and i'll show you how i incorporated that in uh two projects that i um make from scratch like by myself um so yeah that so i'm very happy with uh with that um i'm also actually i also made like a couple of mistakes like um i don't know if you can see it here but you can see it's not very consistent here um and yeah a couple of other things i also had to redo the the sleeves a couple of times so i thought it would be nice to give it another go in this gorgeous aubergine color dark purple and it's going a bit better i actually tried um like when it came to like you know the shoulders i actually tried a different uh technique um yeah i don't know i just i just picked i just picked up um stitches in in my own way and it created um this um so i don't know it's still not very perfect but i thought you know i'm just trying this this out and i uh we'll just see how it goes so um yeah so this is like the the way along uh where i i picked up stitches so yeah this is how far i've i've gone and now i'm almost done with the the edge here i need to knit a bit more here and then i need to do uh the neck and uh the sleeves but i've been procrastinating a bit on on that it seems that there are a lot of fibers here but um it's fine yeah so that's the one that i'm making i actually regret making it in this color um because i um i have a lot of of this dark purple and i i think i would have wanted to use it for another project but um yeah we'll see i think i would have liked to make this actually in a dark blue but who knows i might um try and make my own uh fest vest from from scratch um moving on i'm working on another vest but this one is from another knitwear designer um gregoria fibus sorry that was my shoulder cracking and this vest has a collar it comes with a collar and um yeah this is how far i've gone it's knit from from bottom uh to top and the reason why i picked this one out actually is because i really i really like the the pattern so this is actually the wrong side um but i think this pattern is also very gorgeous i forgot the name of the this the stitch pattern um i have it in my book but um yeah anyway i'll i'll if i if i can find it in my book i'll i'll let you know um this is actually the the right side so the outside of the the vest this is how it looks and i think it's also a really really cute um yeah stitch pattern type of stitch so i might use this this also in an in a future project so it's been cool uh learning how to do this one um and it's also not not that hard i am particularly looking forward to once i've gotten up to this part that i um make like the like the collar and the button band because that's uh included in in the pattern so i think that that would be a really neat thing uh to to learn about i've been looking also on youtube for videos uh on that and i found a couple that um show you as well how to make like a like a band so it's it's cool to to learn that and have that extra skill in my repertoire so i'm knitting this using uh two strands one strand is a silk mohair so 70 percent mohan 30 silk and this is wall mixed with cotton and yeah it's been a bit it's been a while i think i've been working on this for maybe three weeks now no it's been two weeks it's been two weeks since i've been working on this and it's been the progress the progress has been a bit slow and i think that's because this is extremely repre repetitive um yeah and i'm just looking for a good anime to uh to watch whilst knitting this so i i think i'm at like 17 centimeters and i need like still quite a chunk to get up to like um you know like um my my armpit so it's gonna take a yo then moving on i also got uh the so that one was called the dorother vest and they also have a polo version and i'm not too sure as to why i decided to also buy the long-sleeve version of the vest like the pattern for it but i decided that i wanted to do it with um how do you call it with a silk mohair alone and see how that works because i've seen like a lot of these knitwear designers they really enjoy using um that fabric um that that type of yarn and i understand because it does like give the i like the way it it comes out like it's a it's it feels very soft and um it makes the the unit we're also a bit fuzzy which um i like the effect i i think you can see it here a bit as well um you know you can see like above the of the yeah the fabric there um i i haven't started it yet i did uh knit the gauge for it if i can find it here yeah i i knit actually a bunch of uh gauges for uh some projects which i'll be talking about as well so this is uh the gauge so it's it's going to look like this so the same um this is the right side no yeah this is the right side so it looks it has the same pattern just long sleeve and um yeah it feels super soft um but i worry about how warm it's going to keep me um but yeah i i have bought all of the the yarn so i'm just gonna see how how it will go but i can always like put something underneath it um moving on i found this amazing knitwear designer and her brand is called augustin's augustines i think yeah and the thing that i really like about her work is the the detail uh like it has a lot of how do you say this in english um fly flutes and bells like a a lot of extra stuff uh to it if if that makes any sense um so it um i mean like a post a post production sage is gonna like add uh pictures to like with like post production seiji is going to be adding pictures to all of this so you'll you'll know what i'm talking about but yeah it has like the ruffles her designs and like nice lace details and so um i picked two projects that i thought were going to be quite easy um i mean not not easy but i mean that would be within my um skills or like just beyond so that um i i would be learning something new and at the same time not something all that difficult that i'll i'll get very frustrated so the first one is augustine's augustine's number one and this is like um a shirt and it has like this front panel with ruffles and i think that's really cute um so the the one that she knew it herself was i believe in in a type of gray like this type of gray but i decided that i wanted to go for um this like pale green uh version so i knit two gauges because uh this one was too big so i needed to um fix uh fix it yeah so this one this is the the like knitting size knitting needle size as well as uh the the how would you say that the consistency the the strands that i'm going to be using yeah this these are actually the same so the thing is that i thought i was going to be using uh two strands of mohair and then one strand of this uh tiny wall um here this wall but um it didn't look good um i wasn't very happy with it i'm pretty sure i recorded like making all these swatches in a in a vlog so you'll um you'll probably see see these ones um in the future as well but and me making the the other ones that failed and that i like took out but um yeah i found that the best consistency like the the the best texture uh i would achieve with two pieces of um this tiny wall and then one one of silk mohair so now i have too little of the wall and too much of the mohem and so i've learned that when i in the future that i should just take like a sample of things and then buy the amount that that i need later on and so uh the way our work is like buying the amount of yarn and then samples for future product projects and so every single time i will be buying like um wall for my projects and also samples and so i won't have this issue of um having wall that i don't really necessarily need for projects so um that's a tip that i learned moving on to augustine's number eight oh wait no i do have to say uh there's one thing about number one so the thing is that it also has like this skirt i don't know like pl platform i don't know something skirt it's like a shirt and then it has like a a skirt underneath but i don't think that that really suits my style so i'm i'm going to be modifying it and just making it straight so that um in the future what i'm looking to do is like tuck it into um my trousers like the shorts that i'm wearing now i think um let me show you i think it would be a very nice combination like these two can you see it well like these two so yeah we'll see how how all of that goes okay augustine's number eight eight eight act so this one's really pretty um the only thing is that the the pictures they're not very clear um you can see like there's a picture made from the back and then a picture that has a section of the front on it but not like a full body picture and i wish that one would exist this is a really nice top that is um backless so the the cut is extremely uh low and i thought it was really pretty i really enjoyed uh the detail um of and like the ruffles and stuff and i think that's the thing that i really want to learn the most when it comes to both um number one and number eight is just uh this the mindset behind how would you call it um those techniques like how how would you make these how do you do it and like how can you incorporate that in your in your clothing and um placement and stuff like that and uh yeah so that's one one of the things that i'm really looking forward to because like adding ruffles to clothes i think um can be very flattering and um yeah i i am i am looking in the future to do that with some designs so it's it's nice to be able to learn that whilst at the same time making absolutely gorgeous pieces um but um nevertheless um i really like the pattern and um i i tested some um how would you call it some um i made some some swatches some gauges is that how you call them anyway um i was thinking of using the the same yarn that i used anyway anyway i was anyway i was thinking anyway i was thinking of using the same uh type of yarn that i used for this one in combination with uh some uh silk mohab uh because the silk mojo was uh suggested and i tried it with two strands because the i think the needle size is like nine millimeters 10 millimeters so i tried it and uh i think the the swatch the gauge was too big uh i think well it was too the first place it was like really bulky the thing is that the the garment the way she wore it it was very light and so you had a lot of openings and i didn't necessarily want that to be the case because um it's like an open back it has an upper back really pretty and so i i didn't want it to be see through um because um yeah if i if it would be if it would be that transparent i would have to wear like another um what would you call it like a um a singlet underneath it like those spaghetti string tops and so i was looking for some thicker fabric and so i ended up with this first as you can see um not very see-through but um far too thick in my opinion um so i tried instead of doing one silk mohan two strands of the wall i did one strand of the wall and two uh strands of silk mohab and then i got this and um not that see-through and and as you can see not really see-through at least not a lot um and uh very very nice i mean i really like the the consistency of it so this is the one i'm i'm going for so i tried putting this on my needles a couple of times but i failed um with like um increasing because at the start you have to increase quite a lot and i messed up like twice so i got a bit frustrated and then i gave up for a while but i'm i'll be coming back to it soon i'm really hungry [Music] moving on uh i have another project of my favorite things like i said i really enjoy their patterns i bought um three of them so uh i also have a knitted collar and i've only cast on uh the the stitches that were needed um for it and i'm using a cotton i think sixty percent and forty percent war or seventy percent cotton and thirty percent warm um yeah um i've been a bit scared to continue with this one because it you really it it has so um you can see the picture probably here so it it has um it has like a pattern of course um and because it's so small like that the pattern keeps changing because you need you have to like decrease stitches etc etc and so um you you really need like focus or at least i need a lot of focus in order to make sure that i'm not messing up anywhere and so i just need some time where i uh don't well i feel like calm enough to not multitask like watching an anime or something and just focus on on getting this right so um i'm putting this one on on hold for now but yeah she also i also got another pattern of hers which is a cardigan but um i'm not too sure what i'm gonna do with with that one just yet because uh i also got another cardigan uh pattern but this one is from uh gregoria fibers the same one from the uh dorothea vest and polo that uh i talked about earlier and i've only made the swatch for now and it's the same um it's the same um knit like stitch but i think this is the outside so this is the way it looks like the inside for the polo is this um i mean like the outside of the polo is this and the outside for the cardigan is is this um so i don't know i'm not to be very honest i'm not very keen now to start a cardigan but i would love to have it in my repertoire so i'm really just trying to learn how to make different garments like the basic basic of like okay how do would you construct one and then knowing how like how the basic things of how to construct something then i want to like knit things myself so that's kind of like my plan anyway i really like uh this color and actually i'm thinking of buying more of this yarn this is i think 65 alpaca 35 i like sheep wool and i think i'm going to uh get some more of this and some beige beige because i saw this one youtuber i can't for the life of me i can't find it but she made a really really nice scarf um with uh like brown and beige um and it and it had like crosses and um it had a really nice pattern i'll i'll i'll show you the pattern because i actually ended up clicking the link to the like the the ravelry link and buying the pattern and um yeah i just really liked the motif and i thought this would be really really nice um as a blanket so i thought it would be really cool to to try that out so i think that might be a project for the future or just a project that i'll keep really really long on um my needles because because i i really want to make like a big ass blanket like this long and um i'm i'm aiming for like 150 centimeters from left to right and then two meters in length essentially which is is an absolute nightmare but we'll we'll see how far we'll we'll get there but then then again i mean look how much fab like how much how long this is and if we would like cut this open it would be actually quite a chunk so who knows i might uh make this in a couple of weeks if i if i focus on it um but yeah i think um it would be nice to um to have that project so i bought the pattern uh not specifically for to make like a scarf but just um knitting it um just straight without increasing um and it it contains like slip stitches and patterns that i have in uh this book which i'll talk about um soon yeah so i'm looking to uh looking forward to trying this out oh yeah and now that i'm looking at it and the next topic that i wanted to talk about um is actually yeah this knitting book so i've been looking for good knitting books good references and uh this is one that i'm super super happy with so it has 400 uh knitting stitches it's from potter craft a complete dictionary of essential stitch patterns so yeah it has a lot it has like cast on stitches it has some lace stitches uh ribbing um what else slip stitches yeah wait uh yeah here like cool things like this like ribbon stitch you know so it's it's very helpful um i actually started using this for one vest that i have been designing and i'll show you in a second how it looks but i i started my first cable um yeah so i did the four stitch cable and and uh yeah i'm very happy with how how it's looking um at the moment so yeah i have this book and i ordered uh one called the japanese stitch bible because i saw really nice and intricate lace um details because i'm actually quite into like trying out um lace stitches i haven't ever but i think it looks so cool and so good i think um i'd be able to make really nice designs with that um i actually have a skirt in mind doing that but um yeah that's for the future um yeah so i have the japanese uh what was it stitch knitting stitch bible thing and uh it's taking a while for that one to come in um but hopefully you'll be in uh by next week i also bought a couple of oh i bought two books um straight from japan with japanese instructions because i don't know like japanese and knitting like some of those books are freaking epic i i um i i don't know what they're called but i'll put a picture up one is for crochet and one is for um for knitting like uh patterns with like with color work and stuff like that and and some other things so i'm really excited to to have a look um at those two so those ones are coming in tomorrow actually on monday so that's super excited exciting sorry um yeah so uh really looking forward to seeing what i can do with all of that um i found also when it comes to designing that i am able to find inspiration um by looking at designer brands i know that sounds really boogy but um what i'll do is like i'll go to like a website like when i can can't afford any of the the pieces and i'll look at their most expensive brands and i find that those ones have a lot of unique design ideas um and nice color combinations so i usually save them as inspiration um and yeah for instance i saw this really nice gucci dress and it had very like very heavy 70s influence like it was like bright green and it had these like uh white lines uh on the front and on the side and then um i'll actually just put a picture here and i was like oh this looks really cute i think that i could make maybe like a top horse or dress in in that type of design and i think it would look really nice so that's kind of like where i've been getting inspiration uh from as well another place where i've been getting a lot of inspiration from is actually anime uh funny enough i mean like anime is really cool and uh they have a lot of like neat um fashion choices um that i think uh very cool to try out like doing that with um knitting um for instance um there's this really nice um cape in uh burn the witch that the two main characters will wear and it's this um how would you call it it's gingham it has the gingham effect and i was like oh i would love to sew one of those and i looked for fabric everywhere but i couldn't find it and so i kind of like gave up but then i was looking on the wall and the gang website and i found that same pattern knitted i was like oh actually that's pretty cool and maybe i can do that for my cape and just knit it and so i looked um at it and i tried to see if the description actually told um me if like what was going on there and apparently um what they did was they did reverse stocking stockinette stitch and then they like sewed the gingham effect into it so essentially for the burn the witch pattern uh burn the witch model it would be it would look like you would first have to at least that's kind of like how i'm thinking right now um you would i would do it from bottom to top or maybe from top to bottom i think yeah bottom to top because i like decreases more um from bottom to top and you would make one row of red one row of black and then alternate until you get to the top and uh yeah once you've you've gone there then you sew in like the red strings and the the red yarn and the black yarn and that will create that uh gingham effect so um it looked pretty cool so i thought that would be a nice technique to learn so um the the model for it is i actually own a couple of capes because i i like the design of them so uh one of my favorite capes maybe i'll show it to you i so i got this um like six years ago from forever 21 and it's um dear gosh first of all i saved so long to get this uh this cape because it was pretty expensive um i can't remember how much it was but yeah it was very expensive especially for like uh forever 21 and i uh all of a sudden it was in sales and i was like damn i'm just gonna go for it and i uh got it and yeah it's one of my favorite clothes um like clothing pieces i think it's just super cute the only thing that i don't like about it is because is the is the fact that there's nothing here to close things so i think in the future i might get some of more clips and then i can use it like this as well and so yeah i think it looks really cute the reason why i even got into cape was because of um gossip girl blair waldorf waldorf waldorf used to wear them a lot and i thought she was like just such a fashion icon and so i um yeah that's why i really enjoy capes i think they look really fashionable um i wonder why they they aren't very popular who knows maybe it's because they're a bit inefficient but um yeah i'm gonna make it with kind of like this design maybe a bit longer and um you know with some pockets add some functionality to it so um this is a project i'm really looking forward to and then i'm also looking at a jojo's bizarre adventure i mean like if you know jojo's bizarre adventure they have like so much like so many fashion icons like the characters are so pretty and their clothes clothing is like completely out of this world but also really really cool and i'm just looking to knit a couple of these pieces for myself um some of them are really really out there and a bit too extreme for like you know daily wear for my liking so i'm actually just looking to um tone them a bit down in in the terms of like make them more suitable for my um for my tastes um like for instance like i don't know a jumpsuit i i would uh that make maybe into like a dress instead but then with the same pattern and the same type of elements in that sense so yeah that's i'm looking at um mainly part um four five and six at the moment i'm really a huge fan of the rohan kishi bit so i i like a lot of the stuff that he wears um i actually bought a couple of um fat like pieces of fabric um to to make some stuff so um looking forward to to learning how to show as well yeah so yeah i found a lot of cool things and also um [Music] yeah that's i think yeah that's everything when it comes to um anime and knitting then um i am working on a tutorial i completely forgot i had to tell you as well about the the things that i've been doing um myself like without patterns and i've shown this one in my finished knitting projects oh shoot my clothing hanger got stuck in it i actually used this one to film my uh anime podcast uh just a second ago um but yeah this sweater collar block i'm really happy with this i already explained in the in the knitting projects video how this came to be essentially th this fabric this yarn i was supposed to use for a couple of hats i had the idea to make some um monet inspired um knit knitwear also that's something where i also got my inspiration from from um paintings so i have a couple of ideas there as well um but yeah i didn't like doing it because the the thing is i would make the hat and then i would have to embroider all like these motifs like the water lilies and stuff like that and it took so long and i gave up on the project and so i had so much leftover yarn and so i chose the base colors the colors that i wanted to use as the base of the hats uh i just made a sweat out of it instead and so you see these are like um real monet uh colors because you know you have the the he he paints a lot he painted a lot of nature and a lot of water and so you have like different colors uh shades of green and uh blue of course and that's how this came to be and they're very like soft pastel pastel colors as well um so yeah i i this is actually made uh from different pieces so i made the front first i knitted the front first in essentially a square with like a hole um like a dip here that i just cast off and um the back is just a full blown square um so that you know you have this this so that the back is higher of course so that you don't choke and yeah then i use that technique right for the ribbing of the collar i used it here and i also used it on the cuffs because i thought that that was also very cute um yeah and just ribbing at the bottom so after making the front and the back i knitted it i know i seemed it sorry i seamed it um made the the color and then i picked up stitches here which was uh which was hard well i may i i picked up too many and like the arms were humongous and it was taking a lot of wall so i was like okay i'm not going to be able to make full arms and my mom was like seiji you really need to like redo this and i was like yeah and so i took everything out and i retried it and here the decreases it was still a bit big and i was decided to uh like decrease a bit here's where i started to decrease oh wait you can't see it here's where i started to decrease and it just goes through and then i was like okay i'm happy and then i went straight and i think the best thing would have been to space them out and that's what i did here a bit more um and as you can see it's it's far less obvious but i think that i could still even have uh decreased a bit um more better you know like more separate but all in all this is like a great first project to that i knit by myself um without like a pattern so i'm very happy with with how it turned out eventually and i'll show you now my second project and this was a vest because this is a vest that i've had um like the idea i've had for quite a long time yeah it's here i had the idea for quite a long time to make like uh a vest with this color like dark green so i i had an idea to make a sweater with this color and it didn't color and it didn't work out so i was like okay i'll just try to make a vest out of it and yeah a lot of techniques that i learned along the way is moss stitching it's very form fitted i messed up on the sleeves because i picked up one one stitch too much and so this one is longer than this one so it's a bit of a mess it's a bit tight around the arms and um yeah i also tried as you can see here but i decided i would like to put a what do you call it like a um a cable stitch yeah here on the arm but i decided halfway uh to be honest this was really just like a test a test knit uh because i knew when i was making so many mistakes i was like i can't wear this let me just like try and go all out and try and see what i can can make if i can make something and learn enough so that i can um actually make a good one in the future and so i i wrote the i think what is now the correct pattern or very near to the correct pattern uh i actually wanted to take off a couple of stitches here as well um just to make it really sleek and so i can actually add a bit of a sleeve and and i was thinking of using like an icelandic bind off technique that i saw on the internet um so okay do i really want to mess up my hair now i think i might do that at the end i'll i'll wear this at the end and then you can see how it um how it looks so yeah i didn't finish it but i i knitted it to the point where i was like okay this is uh as much um as i can get from this this garment in terms of of learning also i think the color is so cute not not the color but i mean the color you i hope you know i mean and so yeah so i i did um some ribbing and i did the same technique again i think it's i really like this technique it's such a nice finish in my opinion so this is how i did it um i did a very tiny one and i think it looks really cute and i'm really excited to see how how it will look with the icelandic bind off because the icelandic bind off it looks a bit like an i-cord and so um i think it would make a very nice finish and i'm thinking at the end i'm doing some ribbing here um yeah so yeah so that's it from uh the sweat hole i'll wear it at the end so you can see it we are almost to the end because i um the sweater that i made i'm actually doing like a tutorial video but i'm using different colors this time actually a lot of different colors so back in the day when i was a k-pop fan um for uh like a hot minute um there was only really one band i was interested in and that was got7 and this was back in [Music] 2015. and they had this song that came out around that time and it was uh it's called just right it right just right it kind of goes like okay it was really like the aesthetics of that video that's what sucked me into uh the the whole that is kpop and um yeah i love it i like i really enjoy the aesthetic and i think there's also a lot of fashion choices within k-pop that i think would be really nice to incorporate in my knitting as well and so this is the first piece um it's the sweater from um from the video worn by jin young park it's so pretty um so i got the wall for it can i show you yes i can i think these are like the colors all the colors for the for the sweater it's so cute yeah so um yeah that i'm i'm working on a tutorial i just need some time i i need to really like work hard on school so i have a couple of days off where i can like really work on something um but yeah we'll we'll see soon soon soon soon um final thing i wanted to mention besides wearing of the vest and that is um wall yes i got some really really fancy wall um and yeah i'm very happy about it i for a second i forgot uh whether it was northern ireland or ireland that was part of the eu and i started sweating because i was like i i can't afford to like pay customs on this on this package but um yeah ireland is in the eu i i just forget sometimes i know it's a bit silly um but yes so i got wall hedgehog fibers these are really expensive but also very pretty hand-dyed wall so i got this one don't know the name um i think it's mourinho dk like a dub merino double knitting weight and i got this one uh sage this is merino um yeah this is no this is merino dk um i'm confusing it with something else and then i got another merino and this is rosewood and i'm super happy that i bought uh this at the time that i did because um so this is a really expensive wall this is like uh 28 euros i believe um but i got these two and i got like two of these because i'm pretty sure i'll be um using two strands when knitting and the next day when i went on the website it was sold out and these colors it seems don't really come back often if ever and and so i'm very happy that i have these pieces because i i i think they're so pretty and i think that i could make some really cool stuff with it um i think the first thing i'm gonna do with this one is make uh the wrist for um some mittens so um one of my friends um it's her birthday coming like in a couple of days and i would love to knit um a couple a pair of mittens for her it's also my first pair so i was thinking of using this uh wall and this one together so this add the cuff um because i think it would be a nice pattern like rib stitch i think it would look really nice and then this for the hand so that it won't be so the thing is that i didn't i don't really know her style necessarily and so i was thinking okay then i can have some like crazy um color at the wrist and so something very um [Music] like not non-offensive at like on the hands so that um it would be it will work with like different types of outfits so i've been thinking about that um yeah and i think that was everything so finally i will show you uh how this one looks and it's a really tight fit but that's exactly what i wanted my mom was like seiji don't you think this is a bit uh tight but um it's actually quite i don't think it's all that bad the fabric is also very thick um okay how am i gonna do this i need to put something on my head to make sure that i don't frick up my oh yeah it's here actually so this is how i put on my clothes when i have a stretched out my hair because then it won't um get messed up all all that much oh wait i need to put take take off this vest first so this is a tip also if you have makeup on or anything um it will save save you from staining your clothes out shoot okay here we go pretty sure the the the color is quite flexible so it won't be too much of a oh gosh oh my gosh okay it's fine it's fine we're okay we are okay this is the back no this was a bad decision okay anyway yeah so let's see so this is how it looks um like i said i didn't complete it so um also don't mind that this shirt is a bit short but um yeah this is how it looks at the moment and you can see clearly this one is far longer than this one um but yeah i wanted i was thinking if i just add like two or three stitches here and then i add a sleeve it will be about this long so a bit shorter and that would be like the complete that would be like a correct um i mean like a nice slim slim um like how would you call this shoulder sleeve anyway yeah uh i thought about that i can see here now it's a bit also loose so i think i should also be increasing a bit later so that yeah i don't have that here but then again i think i it's supposed to be stretched a bit here yeah i think so yeah this is how the front looks and i'm looking to knit it up to here something like that so that um like when i have like my belt on i can put my shorts up high and then it will cover the shorts a bit um but yeah this is how the back looks also don't mind that this shout is really short it used to be a dress but i um cut it off and i um sewed it quite poorly um just because the dress it had buttons like this it had buttons all the way down and it it just looked so awkward on me so i'm actually quite happy with how it looks now and i just wear it with um yeah like things like that vest where you can't see it so even with this vest i think it would i mean i would be having it till here you know and the vest would be all the way down here and so even with um this um ooh actually having it quite low is isn't too bad like the arm i always i was i when i was knitting this i was actually quite worried that the arm would be too low but seeing it now like stretched out i don't think it would be even that bad having like a low armpit yeah like but yeah both actually look quite nice um so um that's how my um knitting adventure has been going uh so far i have a question though um i'm looking for a stitch that is nice that i can use that doesn't curl at the side um that's not like a good description um i'm looking at i'm looking at something that isn't um how would you say that that isn't very too offensive if that makes any sense um so like for instance like it's shoot like for instance i'm looking for something like this or like a stockinette or reverse stockinette um that doesn't curl and isn't too bulky so um yeah i don't know because like we all know like stockinette curls a lot and so the thing is i'm okay i'll just explain so i had the idea to oh gosh so i had the idea to make a a skirt and then it would have like a slit here but if i would do it with stockinette it would you know it would just curl in so i'm looking for a nice piece of um a nice stitch that won't have that effect and i don't really like you know the knit stitch where you knit on both sides um because i think it looks very bulky and i don't like the difference in in height you know um because you know this is all on one one height um but then again like things such as this actually i quite like so i don't know um yeah i'll i'll see what i'll do but if you have any suggestions of like uh types of stitches that you think will would look nice or if you have tips for like nice edging that that would look uh good with uh stockinette or of a stockinette i'd like to hear that because um i'm i might then just use stock in it and or reverse stockinette and then um use like some some edge that isn't too um how would you call it to fallen or fallen to um too attractive to the eye that doesn't stand out that much yes that's what i mean and yes that was everything for this episode of another knitting podcast thank you very much for watching and i hope to see you in another video cheers [Music] you
