welcome to gospel truth with Andrew Wommack a teaching ministry that emphasizes God's unconditional love and grace and now here's Andrew welcome to our Wednesday's broadcast of the gospel truth today I'm into the middle of my third week teaching on the believers Authority we're into the third teaching in a six-part set that I've got and I tell you this is some powerful stuff you know the things that I'm sharing that what the believers Authority has done for me these revelations that God has given me this is kind of like a foundation to many other things that God has shown me you know I could just take little rabbit trails here and go off and show you the applications I haven't got time to do all of that but I'm saying that this is foundational truth when it comes to understanding God why have you moved in this person's life and we don't see a manifestation over here it normally usually goes back to the believers Authority and somebody hasn't understood that they are just praying and asking God to do something instead of taking the power and the authority that God has given us and this has just answered so many questions for me I'm telling you that this is a series that you need and I would like to really stress that I've got this brand-new book out entitled the believers Authority and the subtitle is what you didn't learn in church and I can tell you that the things that you're going to hear in this teaching are reading this book are things that you didn't learn in church much of what I'm teaching in here I've never heard another person teach that doesn't mean that it's wrong and it doesn't mean that nobody else teaches this it's just saying I've never heard anybody else teach this and to me they're just foundational things we also have this nearly 400 page study guide and then just recently I taught this believers Authority in one of our gospel truth seminars and it was in Atlanta and we saw a lot of miracles but I taught it just a little bit different for instance in this CD set that we're offering there's six teachings in it but in our gospel truth seminars I only have five sessions so there this teaching the DVD set that is live teaching from the gospel truth seminar is just a little bit different it's the same material but we saw such good response that we're going ahead and offering that product because it was powerful and we saw miracles mighty miracles tumors instantly dissolve off of people people that couldn't breathe had COPD and things instantly healed five people come out of wheelchairs so because of this we're making that entire teaching available so we've got a lot of product here there is no reason for you not to get hold of this teaching what I started dealing with yesterday is that with this authority that God has given us as believers comes responsibility and what I mean by that is that since God has empowered us and told us you go heal the sick cleanse the lepers raise the dead out of Matthew chapter 10 I believe it's verse eight then God it cannot just heal them without us I don't know if you understand what I'm saying some people think what are you saying I'm saying that God is one who has overcome all of our problems sins sickness disease poverty oppression depression whatever it's his power it's his atonement that he placed this raising from the dead power on the inside of us that's what Ephesians chapter one verse 19 says that it's the same power that raised Jesus Christ from the dead that's been placed on the inside of us we have raising from the dead power and God has now given us the authority and told us to use his power and go heal the sick again Matthew chapter 10 verse 8 he didn't tell us to pray for the sick and ask him to heal them he told us to heal the sick now let me ask you how many of you let me just say this first many of you don't even believe that God heals the sick today you haven't even been taught that that stuff is available and I believe that one reason that the vast majority of Christian's don't even accept that miracles such as healing of the sick happens today is because it's a cop-out you know what if you don't believe it then you can't be disappointed and you just go through life and when sickness and disease and poverty and tragedy hits you well you just adjust because after all it must have been God's will that's a that's a cop-out when the Bible clearly teaches for many places third John chapter one verse two I wish above all things that you prosper and be in health even as your soul prospers Jesus went about doing good healing all that were oppressed of the devil Acts chapter 10 verse 38 and on and on you could go the scriptural model shows that it's God's will for us to be well and yet the vast majority of people today don't even believe in this they don't want to even get involved in that fight for fear that they'll lose and so they just avoid the fight and lose constantly and accepted as God's will a pen some of you may not like my summary of that and my evaluation of it but there's a large segment of people that just don't even want to believe that it's God's will deal because they might be disappointed and rather than getting their hopes up they just try and keep everybody's hopes down so that they won't believe for anything but then there's another segment of the body of Christ who believes that God does heal today when I tell you about the miracles that I've seen rather than you just calling me a liar and saying that it never happened you say no I believe those kind of things happen but among those who believe that God heals today the vast majority are praying and asking God to move instead of taking their authority and speaking and releasing that healing power I made some references to this yesterday on our program but the Lord gave us power and authority and told us to go cure the sick heal the sick raise the dead cleanse the lepers he told us to do it now it's obvious that it's not our power it's his power but it's in US and if we don't take that authority then it's not going to happen and this is why so many people are not seeing the meringue is power of God operate through them is because they aren't accepting the responsibility that we have to use our authority let me use an example here from the third chapter of the book of Acts it will illustrate this it says in Acts chapter three and in verse 2 it says in a certain man lame from his mother's womb was carried whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple which is called beautiful to ask alms of them that entered into the temple who's seen Peter and John about to go into the temple hasta nom and Peter fastening his eyes upon him with John said look on us and he gave heed unto them expecting to receive something of them then Peter said silver and gold have I none but such as I have give I thee in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk notice in this verse he says but such as I have he didn't say but God has the ability and we're going to pray and we're going to ask God to stretch forth his mighty hand and touch you if it be his will you told those are statements that are said millions of times every day by religious people people say oh God you can do anything Oh God we ask you to stretch forth your hand we ask you to heal this person God I can heal anybody here's here's Peter saying such as I have give I thee in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk and he took him by the right hand and lifted him up and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength and he leaping up stood and walked and entered with them into the temple walking and leaping and praising God I tell you Peter operated different than the vast majority of people that he said such as I have there's some of you saying I'd never say that well that's the reason you don't see this happen then I'm saying that love I know that what I'm saying is rubbing our religious traditions the wrong way there are some of you bristling up saying some what are you saying I'm saying exactly what the Bible said I'm saying exactly what Peter said and some of you don't like it it violates our religious traditions and in mark chapter 7 verse 13 it says your traditions and doctrines of men make the Word of God of none effect and so we have these religious traditions this isn't the way that it's been done I'm very aware that this is just diametrically I mean 180 degrees different than the way that most people pray and ask for something but I'm telling you this is why our results from the way we pray is different than the results that Peter got here Peter didn't come and so God were powerless Oh Lord we know would you please pretty please if it be your will please move and touch this person see that's the approach we have we're beggars we have nothing we can do nothing Oh God would you please send revival Oh God would you please do something Oh God we have no power we're just nothing we go through life beat down talking about our nothingness well without Jesus we're nothing but I'm not without Jesus and that's the wrong approach Peter took a totally different approach such as I have given to you and he never even prayed a prayer he didn't ask God for anything he just said in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk and he reached out and grabbed this man by the right hand and lifted him up he hanged him up most people won't do things like that and you know what that's the reason they don't get the results that Peter got see Peter had been given power and the authority you could say the responsibility to exercise that power likewise we have been given power and authority but we haven't been exercising our authority it has become the normal way to just say god I can't do anything would you please do this and we beg and plead and then just wait to see what God's going to do the Bible teaches us that God has already done it God is already placed within us this power before Jesus left in the 28th chapter of the book of Matthew he said all art in heaven and in earth is given unto me go ye therefore and it's not just said in these words but it's implied when he says all authority in heaven and earth is given unto me go you therefore therefore means dependent upon that statement he was sharing that power and authority with us he equipped us and I've already read those verses in Matthew chapter 10 verse 1 in Luke chapter 9 verse 1 where he says all power and authority over sickness and disease and over demons is given unto you I give you this power now you go heal the sick there's many instances where this is said God has put his power on the inside of us and brothers and sisters with this approach where we come before him as oh god you hate you can do anything you have done nothing would you please move it's religious it's the way that it's being done I admit that it is the normal I admit that but it's wrong I admit that that is not what the Word of God says can you see the difference between the way Peter ministered here such as I have give I unto you in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk and he just grabbed him and yanked him up that's different than the way people are ministering today that's not coming and asking and waiting and and you know this whole thing about people say well I'm just waiting on God do you see Peter waiting on God did Peter just say now God can heal you I believe it and you just stay right there and you wait on God to move in your life totally different approach Peter said such as I have he exercised his authority and he grabbed this man by the right hand and lifted him up he wasn't going to just wait on him he was helping this man he was encouraging this man he was actually getting this man to a place to where man he had to try and move so that he wouldn't fall on his face all right this is an attitude that is rare as hen's teeth you just don't find many people it will stand and be bold and speak with authority now let me put a little parentheses on this or yes even though we have this power and authority you can't exercise it over other people without considering them they have a part to play in this sometimes this is subtle you can't always see it but but look at this example that I just used Peter was going into the temple he saw this man who is lame and he said in verse 3 Acts chapter 3 verse 3 who's seen Peter and John about to go into the temple Aston Tom and Peter fastening his eyes upon him with John said look on us and he gave heed unto them expecting to receive something of them this is not very obvious but if you would go and compare this with where Paul saw a man who is lame and he fastened his eyes upon him and perceived that he had faith to be healed then Paul went ahead and healed him if you put this together I believe that there's more happening than pot then Peter just saying look at us but this man looked at us and looked at them and it says that Peter fastened his eyes on him you know what he was doing he was looking at this man he knew that God had the power to heal him but he also knew that you know in the sixth chapter of the book of Mark verse 5 it says Jesus could do nobody work in his hometown because of the people's unbelief and Peter was there with Jesus when he was in Nazareth and this happened it wasn't that Jesus couldn't do it if our wouldn't do it it was that he couldn't do it because of the people's unbelief Peter had seen even Jesus who operated perfectly in power and authority and I mean he had the fullness the full measure of the Spirit Jesus could not just override other people's will now Jesus certainly could encourage people and motivate people and do things probably much better than anybody we see today and I believe he got the vast vast vast majority of people instantly healed but mark the sixth chapter shows that he could not do many mighty works because of their unbelief and so if Jesus had to take into account other people and whether they were receptive or not I believe that Peter did that Paul did and even though it's not real obvious here when he fastened his eyes upon him I believe that Peter was drawing on the gifts of the Holy Spirit he was listening to the Holy Spirit and he had a quickening in his heart that this man was ready to receive and so he took his authority and released it you can't just take your authority and go in and empty the hospital now somebody there's probably some critics of me right now who are criticizing and coming against what I'm saying and saying if you believe this why don't you just go in and heal everybody why don't you empty the hospitals why don't you go in and empty the morgues well you know what I've actually tried that I've been in the hospital's thinking I was going to empty them because I didn't really understand that even though I believe and I have authority I don't have as much authority over a person as they have and you have to do things to get people to cooperate but at one time I actually went in and thought I was going to empty the hospital and you know what I actually some how are you going to think I'm making this up but I went into a room and was talking to a guy who was sitting in a wheelchair he had his crutches beside him and I went to telling him it's God's will for you to be well and if you'll let me I'll pray with you and we can get you out of that wheelchair and you can be well and he started saying oh I know God can't do it and if he wanted to do it he could and I said no he does want to do it and I pray for you and you get well right now and this man started saying oh but God has put this on me God has made me like this because he's getting glory out of it and I said no God's not getting glory out of this God will get glory out of you being totally healed and I tried to get this guy to let me pray for him and he said no God did this to me and I said well then if God did it to you why are you in the hospital trying to get out of God's will why are you letting them treat you and trying to get better if God did it to you why don't you just be sick and anyway this guy who was crippled in his wheelchair he started pushing himself in his wheelchair and got grabbed his crutch and was swinging at me and he chased me out of his room and down the hospital hall in a wheelchair swinging his crutch at and ran me out of the hospital and you know I came to realize that people in the hospital's they may want to be well they may pray and ask God but they aren't going to take their authority they aren't going to stand and go to believing for because you know what that's risky they may fail and rather than be disappointed they would rather just sit there and say que sera sera whatever will be will be and they just kind of let it go people do not like this approach that I'm taking because it puts responsibility upon us and so I'm saying that you know even though you have now this truth and you understand that God has given us this power and that we need to exercise it and we have this example of Peter doing this with this man you can't do that against a person's will and I tell you many people today have just negated the power of God because of our religious traditions and they're sitting there thinking well God put this on me if it's God's will it's in God's timing I'm waiting on God we have so many religious traditions that hinder us that you have to take this into account even though I believe what I'm saying with all my heart and I've seen great miracles including people raised from the dead blind eyes open I mean in just the last week we saw awesome miracles I see this on a weekly basis it's working but you know what I don't see every single person healed and I think that there's more to it than only this Authority issue that I'm talking about but this is one of the biggest reasons I think that there's other things we'll be talking about some of this but one of the biggest reasons that people are not healed and that people are not set free and that people are not delivered and people are not prosperous and all of these other things that Jesus is provided for us one of the biggest reasons for that happening is a lack of understanding our authority and we just haven't taken responsibility we're just saying oh god if it's your will and we're waiting on God it's not going to happen that way you know again I refer you to that scripture in James chapter 4 verse 7 submit yourselves therefore unto God resist the devil and he will flee from you most Christians understand that you have to resist the devil you can't ask God to do it for you well it's the same thing with sickness you can't just sit there and ask God to heal sickness he told you to heal the sick he put the raising from the dead power on the inside of you you have to take your authority and begin to release that authority through your words and through your actions and you have to fight against this and many people aren't fighting against sickness they aren't fighting against poverty in fact they're cooperating with poverty you know we've gone through this what people are calling an economic crisis and they're sitting there people are praying and asking God to help them but have you taken your authority and started speaking forth your faith have you countered all of the chicken littles who are prophesying the end of the world and speaking all of this doubt and unbelief some of you think well what what do you why do you have to do that I tell you the Bible says in Isaiah chapter 54 verse 17 it says no weapon that is formed against you shall prosper in every tongue that rises against you in judgment you shall condemn for these weapons not to prosper you have to condemn the words that are spoken against you and on the news in the paper in your friends relatives the vast majority of people are speaking death they're speaking fear have you taken your authority and condemned that cancelled out those words and said it's not happening to me see if you haven't done that then you haven't taken your authority you're just sitting here praying and asking God to intervene and wondering why nothing's working it's because you aren't taking your Authority you don't understand that you're the one who's blessed God said he gave you power to get wealth whatever you set your hand onto is going to prosper no weapon formed against you is going to prosper you have to condemn these words and you have to start taking your authority and speaking forth your faith and acting in faith instead of in fear instead of withdrawing now is a time to advance not to retreat and see there's people who are desiring different results but they're doing the exact same thing that the world is doing they are operating in fear they're listening to the same negative words that's not taking your authority that's not accepting responsibility you're praying and you're begging and you're asking God and you also aren't seen the manifestation of God because you haven't believed that God gave you power and you aren't exercising the power and the authority that God has given you I know that these are strong words but they're true and I'm not saying them to hurt anybody I'm saying this to help you I'm saying that if you would go to understanding that God has already provided everything it's not up to you to beg God now it's up to you to believe that God has done it take the power take the authority that God has given you and start using it and you know we're just about out of time on our program today but tomorrow I'm going to start sharing with you some scriptures about how Jesus told us to exercise this
