Great doc. I had to go out and get the stuff to make "pulse". Everything was available at the local grocer, including spelt. It's quite good. I'm also using farro (spelt and emmer) as breakfast fare with a bit of butter and honey after it's cooked. This is a keeper. Thanks OP.
9,000 animals killed in the Colosseum, but the poor couldn't afford to eat meat regularly and largely Gladiators were vegetarians due to the cost of meat.
Why didn't they cook up the slaughtered animals and sell it to the people watching?
