hi Carl hi nice to see you nice to see you Carl you are an architect working here in London you have a studio that's right yeah China Works that's right [Music] and what is this down here it's sort of a secret house it is it's very secret isn't it yeah so it was it was actually the mayor of Sonic's uh garage where they used to keep his limousine okay so yeah when uh our clients uh Harry bought it it was a it was a garage basically so um yeah he bought it to with the idea of turning it into a house for himself I love the these really thin slaps just give it a very delicate fragile feel um and that allows you to hide lots of things behind it and gives the house a real identity yeah so it's a tree house yeah okay well I'll ring the door hello hello how are you I'm fine nice to meet you I'm Anna hi hey harry how are you doing nice to see you good to see you yeah you know each other of course we do yeah and you're still good friends yes yeah yeah absolutely that's good too yeah we had a great great time working on it together so you are the crazy person who bought the garage yeah well can we go upstairs I'm so curious yeah okay when were you here the last time Carl uh it's a long time ago yeah so this is the new story that you put on top of the garage wow it still looks really good yeah are you relieved yeah yeah such nice daylight in here yeah nice it's so Serene and calm isn't it yeah and I guess the window you have here Carl is so there's lights on the stairs yeah that's correct and it also tracks or takes light down to the lower level exactly we're a bit worried about the lower entry level being quite dark so it brings a lot of light in through that space I think yeah it has exactly the same dimension but so when do you as an icec sort of Let It Go and and when do you as the client sort of take over where is where does where's the sort of balance there well we we had an idea for the outside and the inside of the house and then gradually when the project became more of a real thing and it was on site I think yeah Harry very much kind of took over driving which Windows he was going to have what the floor finish would be and obviously it was a conversation so you don't insist on no no your favorite kitchen or your favorite flooring or I just think it's inappropriate really when you're working with people with their homes okay well I'm very envious I would very much love to live in this house Harry I don't do you have it on Airbnb oh yeah no you're welcome to uh you're welcome to come anytime thank you and thank you very much for showing us your your house yeah yeah great to see you yeah yeah yeah I'm also that envious and I would love to live here you can just make one house for yourself Carl stuff yeah it's true yeah okay all right bye-bye bye foreign yeah I love the way it's all still really a bit crappy as well yeah yeah I mean you couldn't you couldn't design this right oh no no yeah and I guess you have to really be a Londoner to understand or to know where the the secret places are yeah not as a tourist actually yeah to figure this town out [Music]
