for the holidays children between them from Christmas Eve is the one time everybody's guaranteed to spend the night here because they're starting to get on their own about finally going let's talk again so Andy tell us about the first time you owned it the first time we worked together we were doing a Christmas special and I felt like the first time I really talked to them I was like I think you were seen and you ceiling yeah and it was really phenomenal you both were married to different people like at the time yes yeah and so that's kind of hard get together well honestly I didn't even think about it that way I it was just I felt that I'm so glad you're in the world feeling that's really how I felt what happened what do you mean now we were working and talked about a bomb on our Christmas specials 1993 and we were to send a little but we started talking and I went back I I know you that is amazing Amy events have been married now for 15 years fantastic Amy's latest album is called be still and no hymns and faith we recently went back to Nashville to catch up with her we're sitting on a hill top of the farm then I bought back in 1994 two sets out of Nashville this place is special for so many reasons and bends and I got married right on the other side of those flowers I have come here to write songs for years and it's just beautiful there's a lot of peace up on this hill welcome to the very first ever fear for the party we've got kids from inner-city kids from nice far town it's just a melting pot you know just under 200 kids a week it campus for them after 16 years but this is the first time good eye open here's one sir good morning eye-opener worship I love music I love how it connects people and I love the places it's taken me and the people I've met for the last 30 years I've got the same for every president I started singing in high school and I got a record deal because what I was doing was unique at the time you know I was just singing regular songs but including a faint element can different Christian music I was actively singing and recording and touring by the time I was 21 which is how old I was the first time I married they carried chef and father of my three children back MA and Sarah and I don't know any guy it would have hit joy be in that position that's rough you got people brushing their lives here powdering her face I mean I don't think I was a prima donna but a lot of things revolved around me the late 90s they were difficult on so many levels but my mind I was less aware of what wagging times were out there what people were saying going through a divorce I never did my image a second thought ever and life just turned out the way it did and we all learned a lot of lessons he is happily married to somebody else I'm thrilled to be married to Vince Gill Vince and I got married on this hillside all of our children are grown except Karina and they're such wonderful people it took a little while for life to feel familiar he had his daughter I had my children and we were probably a year and a half two years into our marriage and we were sitting out in the backyard and he said you know hey I love you and I still feel a little bit like a stranger in my own life so I need to just a little bit and then time goes by and it is suddenly all about the president it eventually becomes about the life you're in and not the one that you won't ever return to so I have this whole new record company staff that said oh I grew up on this on I grew up on that song we should repackage so we had in a vault somewhere all this extraordinary material that was the most fire in my belly I had felt in a decade when you're young you don't think you're ever going to get older and then you get older and you go this was fantastic I am middle-aged and it feels fabulous coming up American hero Jo Martinez is an incredible journey from the battlefield
