AmpliTube 5...the FREE stuff - First Look!!

and welcome to the super fun awesome happy time pedal show my name is gabriel and today i'm looking at uh amplitube 5 which just came out um so this is the free version uh there will be more videos possibly with things that are not free but at the moment i just downloaded the free version just to check it out just to see what's different and um yeah go from there so um you can check out i did a video on amplitube 4 on the free stuff as well which you can watch here um this is ample trip five just came out if you live in in sort of mid december 2020 um yeah let's have a look so this is the default thing very first thing i got to say i really like is it's resizable uh to any size you want uh i like that i'm old i'm blind i like things being nice and big because i'm old and blind uh interface looks great uh there's no percentages or anything like that you can just drag it and resize it so uh this is the default setting so when you first open it i have i've only just strummed a couple of chords i installed it from a couple of chords this is sort of a first impressions for me uh there'll be lots of more videos if there's anything particularly you want me to do on this let me know in the comments below i know there's a standalone version which also has a looper and a recorder and stuff in it which this i don't think it does but we'll find out i'll look into the standalone version as well and maybe how to hook it up with midi controllers and things like that so but if there's anything uh specifically any amp models or pedals or anything you want me to do um link below i'll also do a couple of videos where i compare i've been meaning to do it for ages but i'm gonna i'm gonna do some where i compare uh petals are on here like the t-rex mud honey and stuff like that ones that i have and a fender blender uh i'm gonna compare the real pedals to what's on here so i'm playing my fano mg uh on this mg6 for this and this is the default settings the very first setting that comes out the only thing i notice it's quite high output so i turn the output down the bottom here i turn that down a bit but other than that this is just what the default setting is sounds great um so let's see um we've got the amp which looks nice looks a little bit different we've got ah this is only available in amplitube five okay uh well how can i undo that no okay can i go back to okay here we go back to default oh now the volume's gone up i gotta bring the volume down a bit again um so that's i guess is so you can split it and you need amplitube five to do it to you can split the signal let's just see what happens then we've got this which adds a second cabinet okay and then we've got the cabinets okay and yeah see they're all basically all locked because i haven't done anything with it and you've got the mixer which is also only available so this is a free version okay let's just try it out right let's just have a look so this is the sound [Music] sounds good to me now let's try um let's just play around with this a little bit okay so let's go pre-amp let's crank it and it's fat that sounds good the sort of thing on on amplitube 4 one of my favorite settings is everything on 10. ah [Music] it's a bit blown out on here apart [Music] sounds alright though okay let's go for a slightly less [Music] that sounds all right uh now let's see what else is there so we've got pedals most of them are locked because it's a free version uh fuzz modulation noise gate you get a nice kit you get a compressor i've got mud honey here because i'm that's it so that from the previous version it sort of took it uh delay so i think that's the only one i bought um on a you know the had from the previous version um chorus flanger i mean there's tons of stuff uh you can also okay you can search by collection so collections there for example you can look at the fender pedals there's a fender blender tape echo and all that sort of stuff okay uh you can look at metal stuff you can look at everything there's the full tone stuff um okay then amps okay so we can look at amp types these are all the m types so we've got american tube clean one and clean two comes with a free version um all of these don't high gain tube leads comes with a free version angle powerball i had from the previous version um because i've got the pebble here and i was going to do a shootout video but it never happened transatlantic tier 30 i had a ta-30 here for a little while i was going to do a shootout never happened i had some issues with the screen recordings and it was completely out of sync and it didn't work and then we've got a solid state base preamp okay so that's it and you can click it collection so you can say i want to look at the fender stuff and then it's all here i'm going to look at a bunch of fender stuff i think um in orange um you know i'm going to in future videos let's have a look then we got the okay so okay i have to click on here but it's okay so there's the different collections there are different types of cabinets different collections of cabinets um and this is sort of the i think it used to be rack stuff now it's turned into 500 series stuff so we've got a tube compressor we've got a digital chorus uh graphic eq parametric eq is that all that it comes with compressor digital reverb and a digital delay so let's see how do i add this to it if i wanted to delay do i just drag it here let's say there looks like it let's see if this because the stereo effects are really cool on these [Music] okay maybe i have to put it what about if i put it ah now it's gone stereo i think so if i go to here there's a cool stereo image now clean the amp up a bit [Music] so that's got quite a nice stereo image going on so maybe listen to this with headphones all through good speakers um yeah so they just changed the rack thing to 500 series um so can i so how do you just have to read oh yeah you just drag the rev up there okay then you can click here and go through okay and yeah most of them are most of them are blacked out [Music] lovely okay so that's that then there's what else is there so we've got a reverb we've got a delay you can buy a shimmer plate river room reverb you've got a tube compressor you've got a digital chorus that's wacky chorus there too let's put that actually on so if i put this here oh no i only have space for two so can i stick that maybe in front no okay so that's a no did you cause can i not put it there yeah i can put it ass it's now a floor pedal okay so that's you can turn it into a foot pedal as well and then you turn it off like that okay cool there's a chorus okay let's have a look um let's do so there's different speakers different rooms okay so you've got the speakers okay so you can like with the other version with uh aperture four you can change up every speaker um so at the moment what's in it brit 80 so i could put a brick green in it for example [Music] because we've got hang on hang on in yes it is there are two mic stairs so i can oh and there's kind of routing options you've got all the different rooms there's a bunch of new rooms too so you've got and you've got there's your room mics as you've got your large studio you've got your hall you've got a mid studio amp closet okay [Music] what's hang on let's get rid of this to here [Music] it's become much tighter the room um as opposed to going to a large studio [Music] you can bring in the room mics and maybe bring the width up a bit that's great and again this is all free i mean you don't have to pay for any of this um what about the garage so you can hear that ambience of the room there [Music] what else is that subway all that you gotta buy in the bathroom probably too yeah okay so that's not part of the free but you get pretty much what you get all but two rooms uh then you've got all the different mics you get a dynamic 57 you get a condenser 67 come down to 87. i think i may have one of those i may have bought in a previous version as well i'm not sure which one but maybe the ribbon 121 but anyway [Music] let's go back to the let's go back to the hall [Music] oh caesar there now because there's quite a lot of room sound it's quite a big room [Music] that's cool that sounds great in all honesty and i mean this is not this video is not sponsored by amplitube this is uh just a free version they didn't ask me to do it i wanted to do it i will do some videos with amplitube that are sponsored coming down you know later on down the track but this particular video i just wanted to do it because i quite like amplitube 4. for me it's still i think it's one of my favorite kind of plugins um amp plugins that i've used anyway um i've tried a few different ones and i love the layout and even though i mean it looks really super simple with this see i mean you click the button you got a second now whether that works does it [Music] it does work even though the splitter thing doesn't seem to want to work because you click on that and that's only available as an upgrade but i mean you can add a second amp very easily [Music] [Music] let's do this okay let's so we've got let's do the maybe turn the reverb off but the delay see if i can add a delay on here yes okay now let's make this one mono and let's make this one mono okay but it's set to the same thing so now let's set this to 8th and where's this one now is that not there now hang on oh no it's there okay so let's set that to dotted eighth and let's set the other one oh here we go there's okay so yeah you can get that so you can set the stereo thing you probably then if you upgrade to this you can pan one side to left one side to the right but um [Music] i mean it's super simple you can three amps no i can't i gotta upgrade for that we can have two parallel paths it's pretty straightforward um okay let's have a look at a couple of presets one on um okay so same as with the other one you have older these are i think mine's cs custom shop mother that's a that's the presets i'll get all the others i don't um so let's try appetite and again they get very loud so i'm trying to turn it down for me anyway [Music] the switch is dying i think so appetite i guess guns and roses the kind of sound oh hang on there is something not on [Music] oh with some delay that's a good rock sound okay let's try some more bad rock noisy bad rock [Music] sounds great and then we go to this reverb let's turn it on [Applause] it's loud [Applause] [Music] but this stuff is free that's crazy that's to me there is nothing else that's free out there and that's all you can keep it it's not a not a um like a trial thing this is all free stuff it sounds killer just yeah for whatever reason for me anyway it's ridiculously loud [Music] we've got a delay okay so we've got two delays let's oh delano river so [Music] all right then you've got the overdrive [Music] i kind of said it sounds really good uh okay let's go buckley [Music] that's a massively reverb saturated jeff buckley kind of vibe i guess um this is now the american clean [Music] let's put on the compressor [Music] sounds great i mean build to rock volume down it's a very fizzy marshally sound [Music] it's loud and noisy crunch and lead wah okay so there's a while so i will look into it assigning expression pedals [Music] uh let's go fx [Music] some lovely sounds i mean and like i said these are just the presets let's look at a couple more a hybrid amp in a room [Music] this is the american tube clean and there's an overdrive [Music] let's look at a couple more from the 80s you got to do that sounds loud to me [Music] [Applause] [Music] but i mean it's a great stereo image that's it's the for the free version this stuff blows me away gotta say that sounds killer i mean there's a delay on this amp a reverb on the other amp chorus after the speaker there it's great we're in a little amp room [Music] [Applause] i mean to me the being free sounds i only have a di signal you can always record a di signal as well [Applause] interesting great sound uh let's try two more uh edge delay ah okay so that's stereo that's a cool stereo effect there [Music] that's cool that's very cool so you've got the two delays i guess one set to quarter notes and the other ones to dotted eighth um uh and set to lcr whatever lcr means left center right maybe i don't know and then mix together that's a cool great stereo image [Music] let's look at one more and let's look at something a bit more metal flag that's some bit heavier into three sounds maybe maybe why isn't this muting it ah because i got to turn a pound i'm going to put humbuckers for that one so this is my ibanez as100 uh is it in tune [Music] it's one thing i always find with these um software things the tuners are over sensitive okay let's turn that down even more so this is the metal flag that's good uh what do we have here distortion pedal noise gate in the core [Music] but i mean it's something that's so metal but um with the free sounds let's see okay let's try let's try and make something like a preset i'll try and make a preset so can i go uh what are the legacy ones legacy bundles tascam a great rock tone okay i don't own a lot of this stuff yeah so you can't go into those because you don't own the stuff let's go back to the default setting because i thought that sounded really good just to volume down a bit now with the humbuckers okay let's see how heavy i can get the sounds so i'll do the now let's push it with the pedal uh and i guess in the free version metal no i don't have any of that stuff okay type uh distortion uh i'm not going to use a mud honey because let's just a diet distortion i guess so that needs to go here [Music] time distortion all the way up [Music] okay let's see if we can do less distortion more level [Music] it's tighter the other way isn't it to level down get off that distortion up [Music] it's noisy let's bring in a noise gate search gear okay gates aha and that you usually put that in the loop of the amp don't you i'm not a gate kind of user edits aha there you go oh so that's right on the verge there [Music] it's a just on the verge isn't it [Music] but it's not a bad sound that's a you know overdriven sounds uh preamp is crank let's do the old marshall everything on 10 again see what that does [Music] it's very saturated maybe even i know it's very on me bring the game down a bit more [Music] let's have a look threshold up even more uh let's have a look at this so maybe for that let's we want to do a slightly oh gate is still there i want a slightly tighter room in [Music] disrespect oh cool i can let's pan each speak into different left and right [Music] baby that's pretty cool uh let's do do we want to change the speaker um uh let's put an american 12k there whatever that means [Music] they got rid of the fears [Music] evie darkness [Music] that's cool uh i mean uh in future i'll look at more things i know there's a whole bunch of new amps like there's that sort of um friedman looking am there's a couple of other amps i'll look at all the new stuff but this is this is just sort of a quick first look basically at um the free stuff and to me it's highly impressive and so actually let's try okay hang on let's quickly go i know this is probably longer than it should be but let's go back to default let's split let's do two amps um let's make because that's not fairly clean sound isn't it oh that's a loud sound let's make this amp for no particular reason the american tube 2. volume's cranked i've got a root bit of reverb on here it's quiet hang on let's go to the speaker now but let's pan those both that way [Music] and let's go back to the marshall turn it on and let's go to those speakers let's pan both of them to the right [Music] and maybe is that the overall volume maybe too much revo on there maybe let's stick uh just because let's stick a revo on that side for this so we've got to reverb both [Music] that sounds great and i mean again this is free uh let's put in so we've got a stereo rig basically [Music] let's put in uh at the overdrive in front of everything [Music] i think i mean especially considering this is free stuff oh i'm in the wrong thing but not even because it's free stuff generally i think that sounds really really cool so that was a not all that quick first look at uh amplitube 5 everything that's free i think that sort of covered pretty much everything what does this do um oh this just shows what you ah man that would have been easy i wouldn't have that shows i think that just shows what i have yes okay so you click on that and that shows what you don't have okay so that shows everything and that shows just what you have see that makes life easier uh and this shows just what you don't have which at the moment is most things um but so this is it basically if you get rid of the transatlantic and powerball that's what it comes with uh two american troop cleans oh british tube lead one i haven't even tried that or did i what's this one that's a brit 800 let's swap it for that hang on hang on a minute one more thing i didn't even notice this go back to default see the things you miss so that's kind of a jcm800 and this is a british tubeless [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] so that's sort of more of a no master volume [Music] it's a much it's a much more used amp there's like ripped toe legs and stuff okay so you've got two different marshall style amps two different fender style amps uh you've got a bass amp solid state base amp uh if you pay for it you've got an angle powerball and a transatlantic by mesa boogie so that's the stuff that you that it comes with it comes with a delay pedal diet overdrive doesn't come with mud honey compressor noise gate seven band eq aware chorus flanger tremolo didn't even try that sounds good to me uh it comes with i got that mark two speaker i that doesn't come with that so it comes with one by two open vintage 1 by 15 base vintage two bunch of closed vintage doesn't come with the transatlantic that's something i got i don't think it comes with with a 4x10 i think that's one i got uh it comes with the brit 800 forward of closed vintage and the angle pro is another one i got and it comes with a digital delay digital reverb chip compressor digital chorus graphic eq and parametric eq so that's basically what it comes with i think and it's it's not i think i should just want to stress that again it's not a trial version thing so this all this stuff is free you can keep it you can then add more stuff to it with a new there's a whole newly designed custom shop that they do where you can um it's kind of like a little bit with itunes you can buy these points or you can give people points and then they can trade the points for gear yeah and that's about it i think it's pretty cool i really like it like i said right at the start if
