Americans react to Eurovision 2018

so here we go with eurovision 2018 we let the eurovision song contest begin yay [Music] hi guys and welcome to another video in this one we are kind of hitting a milestone technically mike and lauren after they finished this one they have seen the past decade of eurovision not for foreign this will be his third whole decade yes you started a long time ago we started filming the first one in 2019 yeah so it only took us two years to film 10 videos but i hope you like them um anyways if you guys are new by any chance i'm alex i'm a eurovision fan then you have mike and lauren vision super fan a little bit obsessed a little bit passion would be passion passion that's the word yeah very passionate about your vision then we have mike and lauren they are the americans in the americans react with vinnie but vinnie is separate because vinnie has less experience yes he's like kind of flirting with it while they are now pros at we're all in cracking fun of the acts pretty much but they like some they like some yeah yeah like scooby-dooby-doo i totally messed it up that was the one yeah basically here from denmark sweden or norway we like you they like a lot of the songs from the northern countries which i mean who's surprised i mean when the swedish songwriters are in i find it very commercial like it's very what americans would listen to so i don't think that's a surprise for vignette i don't really know exactly what he likes he either feels to be like i don't know you like some and then some not like yeah yeah that's exactly what it is we will still be filming 2019 just because that was the first video we filmed and i did not show them the full contest at that point i had no idea how big the channel is going to be was 2019 the one with the the 18 year old girl 16 year old girl yes that's the one that was our first video that was funny that was very funny that video right now is unlisted because the comments were not the nicest but probably this time is gonna be better [Music] they were rough anyways we're gonna go with 2018 we watched all of them in a row up until now do you remember who won in 2017 portugal yes yeah the dude that was like actually you had cancer or something he was gonna die or a heart condition but yeah he remembers every day so where do you think this eurovision is going to be i assume portugal portugal the city lisbon lisbon yes is there any other city in portugal it's a joke obviously i know you'd even give him a beat like don't even let them think just correct yourself yeah okay those are jokes by the way just for some of you that sometimes you're writing some comments there like i cannot understand how you're missing the joke in it like i mean i know that a lot of you and i'm very aware and i told you this before i know that a lot of you are watching this just because it starts with americans react which in your mind just means oh my god they're gonna screw up let's click on it and find the screw-ups but sometimes some of those things are ironic or like jokes and you guys are taking them as for real we do have senses of humor and irony and stuff like that yeah and some general knowledge yeah i know europe exists so with the capital in paris i've heard that's what americans think the capital of europe is paris yes oh okay what oh is it not is that the question yeah what what i'm right yeah okay i could see that anyway back to eurovision no no rome paris london and whatever other cities americans know from europe you're pretty much it those three okay yeah okay so none of those three let's pick a different one in this video we're gonna be in lisbon we're actually in okinawa uh and we are gonna be watching eurovision 2018 i'm curious to see what they think about the winner and i'm gonna tell you the rules of the game that we are playing here just in case you're new they will have to guess 10 countries that they think they're gonna end up in top ten if they guess the country on the correct spot they get three points and if they correct account if they correct if they guess a country that is in top ten but in the wrong spot then they will get one point for it up until now i think lauren won every single time i don't know mike did you win at something i have one in there you win a lot yeah but by and large i like how modest you are yes lauren does win a lot most times too but i have no taste so yeah that's what people are saying maybe we're going to make a video with mean comments about you um it would be quite funny especially the one that about the man whose children had to leave the room because of my voice yes you're making children cry lauren oh i do wish i could remember who won in 2019 because we've seen it oh when you're gonna watch it you're gonna know it yeah but traditional music i think this is the one with the doors so they're going to go through doors like the panther doors i'm pretty sure they're dead i'd absolutely like to go to lisbon i haven't been there yet i was just thinking i'd really like to go as well [Music] i love that thing that's the best thing thing you will ever eat is it a pastry yes it's a pastry with like a custard inside but it's like so oh [Music] i like how they make like this song with just like random noises [Music] it's just a lot to take in so many things is the camera super annoying for you huh is the camera super annoying for you no i mean i can see that sounds like it's super good yeah it's very convincing it's not too much in the way i thought that was him i was like that was surprising [Music] this song sounds extremely portuguese and that's because that's how i imagine the music in portugal should be like like even the style of voice the instrumental everything sounds very portuguese for me [Music] [Applause] okay this has to be traditional i don't think this is considered pop music in portugal i wonder if anyone's just like falling on their face well that's why they have those men to help them like walk downstairs because that dress was dragging a little bit that would be bad also right now the stage looks super dark and i'm pretty sure that when you get those lights in your face for them to film you you can't see anything [Music] oh i remember this okay i like this one [Music] 2019. it has been in austria we've seen austria you've also seen sweden twice well it's not sweden you don't know it's not playing the mind game trying to figure out who won yeah okay great yeah norway no because it was in rotterdam with what's his face that's unfair to winnie yeah sucks us up be a true fan they're countries that americans know that exist in europe yeah and i couldn't just say it's the larger countries romania is pretty large and you don't know until i met you i was gonna make a really they doing like thanksgiving turkeys i don't know i've never been to portugal i couldn't tell you i bet that meal by the way guys that was a joke i'm not from america like i know we don't have projection yeah but the projection does not go over her hands that's what's throwing me off like i think it's coming from the sides because when she puts her hand down you can see a shadow yeah right that one yeah okay i do know little eurovision history because i remember seeing it alexander yeah he was a violinist yeah he was one that won playing violin yeah not this i don't think cause he it will in fact it's not going to be tough well regardless even if i love the song they're not talking aren't they in 17 in this version you know in the live show actually a guy went on stage and stole her microphone while she was singing what and then he dropped it and she just went and picked it up and she continued singing anyway like while the security were eliminating the guy but in this version that they uploaded on youtube i think they put one of the rehearsals in or the show that they did for the juries because that does not happen this one i know i kind of want to see that so i don't know if that's gonna like based on me like re-watching this show that footage suddenly disappeared um why did he do that oh there's just like a lot of [ __ ] that's a lot of basil no it's not were eliminating the guy and also they had to figure out if uk wants to perform again or not because they're usually allowed to do it if something happens but they decided not to because that happened right before the moment happened with raise your hands and then she was actually very good on that part because she was like all adrenaline and pissed like yellow similar oh he doesn't speak english
