American Idol Laine Hardy Just Dropped a Stunner About Winning

[Music] just because Lane Hardy hasn't been on your TV or your radio doesn't mean is not working season 17s winner of American Idol isn't about to disappear quietly into the reality television night in fact 2020 is poised to be his ear I'm Billy Dukes with taste of country and the barefoot kid from Louisiana visited with taste of country recently talked about his music his mom that time the police chased him through the Bayou and how he looks back on his time on Idol we're not exaggerating about any of that so subscribe and hang on because there was no holding back Exhibit A you didn't know Lane had his last name tattooed across his shoulders did you he also asked us not to tell you about the tattoo his brother just got where the Sun don't shine but you might be able to learn more about it at the link in the corner as for the music lane played two songs during his TOC stream with taste of country nights hosts Evan and amber including let there be country and his new single ground I grew up on earlier he told TOC that he's been working hard to learn how to co-write in Nashville and he's relying heavy on producer Michael Knox to help thumbs up this video if you've heard lanes new song and you love it ok here's a little taste [Music] that range [Music] season 18 of American Idol is happening remotely due to the coronavirus and Lane says he feels for all the finalists because it was tough as is he does still keep in touch with its people like Laci Kae booth Walker Burrows and Alejandro from last year well pretty much it I'm pretty sure we made like lifelong friends with them down the road we're still gonna be close to about that win lane did get a pretty big cash prize for winning which he says he's saved smart but he didn't get a trophy which is kind of a bummer but how about that card that has your name on it Lane has it and in fact it was close enough that wait a second the card has sparkles on it let me let me see that again [Music] okay I need a second to recover from that maybe as much time as it takes a ling to tell us about that one time he almost ended up on live pd one time it wasn't it wasn't on purpose one time like 16 there's like Saturday morning 10:00 a.m. in the morning I just put new back tires I'm not a full woman and one of my buddies came right over he said hey meet me at Sur so it sounds I'll see in a second I said okay I put my tires on put my tie on by took off down the road and then uh right in front of me there's two cops I know well I did I took off down my buddy's road okay and I was like my bike was redline miles an hour and I didn't know what to do it's two of them with their sirens on 10 o'clock in the morning Saturday morning and I pulled in my buddy's driveway and I was still going 54 down this gravel driveway I passed his house his parents were outside drinking coffee I was still trying to figure out what they were thinking when I passed I'm a little tired I was writing because I was scared but I got to this woodlot I took off this this little swamp trail I came back around and all of a sudden I got a hot scent on a rut and I gave up no more I know it was like I don't want like I walked up back to the house then got put the handcuffs and the cop one of the cops ran through the woods and he had mud over his ankle break ankle done yeah and he was kind of mad I learned from that not to run to a cop yeah don't do that Lane don't do that he added that by the end there were eight cops and they just kind of scared him and he was crying but no mug shot was taken there's a song in there somewhere his new song ground I grew up on is available at all places music is sold and you might even be able to find him singing it this season on American Idol I'm Billy Dukes with the taste of country thanks for watching thanks for subscribing and thanks for watching
