Amazing Firestick Feature Most People Don't Know About

if you are a Fire TV stick user whether it's a stick Cube TV any fire OS and you don't know about this feature you're going to want to stay tuned let's go [Music] all right I'm about to get you on the TV I want to share this feature with you but I actually have a bonus feature that I'm going to share in today's video so I'm going to show you a couple new things they did on one of a recent update for the fire OS devices and then I'm going to have a little bonus one for you so make sure you stay to the end of the video let's not waste any time let's get on the TV alright so what do we have going on here now this is your Fire TV stick interface that I have on the screen right now close up so you can see it there are a couple features that they added in recent updates one was two updates ago and one just recently now I am using the Fire TV stick within the United States if you are in Canada or some other countries you may not have some of these features but make sure that you do stay tuned because they are adding these to all countries soon in addition to that I've got one more bonus feature that I want to share with you now these are all new features for the Fire TV stick all within the last few months now this works on any device if you have an older one or new one doesn't matter you don't have to have the newest one like I have right here this is the Fire TV 4K Max but you can use use this on the older ones as well if you do not have these features I'm going to talk about make sure you update your Fire TV stick I have videos on how to do that on our channel it's all done in settings really easy to do so I'm on the home screen now there are two new features of this and it's this one right here it's the free to you it's going to be all of this it's free fresh and fun it's got everything from news travel viral videos gaming videos trending trailers food and cooking in fact I'm in one of the viral video videos so make sure you check that out as well and there's also sports highlights that you can look at now those are all free this is like a new little section they have they've always had the features apps they've always had the free movies and TV and then other apps like that so I just wanted to really quickly highlight that there's all these new free ones here which is really cool another announcement is I have an app that is now going to be on the Fire TV stick so you can access my videos quicker and easier so when that becomes live which will be very soon I'll make sure I let everybody know and that will be in the App Store now the App Store on the Fire TV stick is right here under App Store and you'll just search for curiosity Cafe and you'll be able to find it so what is the big announcement well a couple months ago they did this and it's in the live section right here so what this is going to do is it's going it's going to take all of the free paid all the apps together that you get on your Fire TV stick and there are tons of them and I've only got a couple on here right now but let me show it to you if you go down to guide click on guide right here you're going to have it populated with all of your live TV channels now these are going to be all within different apps so as you can see right now I only have freebie on here so these are all the freebie channels look at all of them I mean there are tons and tons and tons and you can customize it by hitting the three dashed lines on your remote and you can add channels so really quickly let's add some channels so you can kind of get an idea of what there is to offer so based on what I have right here you have all these options now we'll tell you if it's subscription or not so I only have these two on right now and these are built into the Fire TV stick automatically but if you had YouTube TV DirecTV sling TV any of these subscription ones Prime fox now now you can add it you can add free ones like Pluto you can even do peacock Plex 2B all of these that have live TV channels and there's much much more these are just the ones you can add directly from right here without side loading it or doing anything else you can manage your channels now this is going to basically populate everything into a guide format that you might be familiar with and you can go into the future you can set up recordings you can do all kinds of stuff if you have your Fire TV set up properly it's pretty cool little feature so I just want to share that with you I know this is really quick that is a feature that they added but they've just improved it recently with an update they did just a couple months ago so again if you're in Canada or other countries that don't have this live tab or the guide tab yet it is coming make sure you save this video so you can reference it later so you know how to manage those apps and you can add additional apps through your app store all kinds of crate stuff that you can add you don't have to pay for it guys it's all free it's built into the Fire TV stick now for the bonus feature that works on all Fire TV sticks and this is one that's extremely important and I've talked about it a few times on some other videos I've done but I'm going to bring it up again here because I think it's crucially important understanding your Fire TV stick is the key to a good performance one thing about your Fire TV stick that a lot of people don't realize is that it's running all the time even when your TV's off most people think you turn your TV off by hitting the power button on your fire stick remote and it turns off your fire stick it does not guys it keeps running in the background what does that do that's using resources that's building up cash it's causing problems with your fire stick that will eventually slow it down to the point where you can't use it it will happen if it hasn't happened to you yet it will unless you understand the concept of putting your Fire TV stick to sleep so get in the habit of doing this before you turn your TV off every every time you're done with your Fire TV stick super important hold down the home button on your remote control for a few seconds I'll do it right here and you come up with this screen right here go here to sleep this is going to put it to sleep it will wake up as soon as you push the select button on your remote so by putting it to sleep set your remote down hit the power button whatever you've got to do to turn your TV off but then do not press the select button until you're ready to use your Fire TV stick now it's not using resources now it's going to run a whole lot better now this is a shortcut menu again just holding your home button down for a few seconds you can also do shortcuts to apps this way you can screen mirror if you want to use your your Android phone you can do that right here but you can also get into settings directly here this is simply a shortcut menu and I've shared it in some of my other videos but it is critically important you do put your Fire TV stick to sleep I can't tell you how many messages I get from people that say their Fire TV stick isn't working anymore what do I do help me well I'm helping you guys I'm showing you right here in today's video how to do that how about that pretty cool right I absolutely love the Fire TV stick there are so many cool features about this thing and they just keep getting
